I've spent most of January working on things which don't pay any money, but needed doing. It's all felt quite luxurious, frankly. I've not been getting up at silly o'clock every morning, been taking a day off here and there, and just ploughed through a ton of work without needing to show it to anyone. What it's all for i can hopefully reveal later in the year. But it's done me a load of good, mentally. November and December i took on too much, and burnt myself out completely. So I feel refreshed, calm, bit skint, and ready to get back into the schedule.

I haven't done this kind of thing before, planned a comic so big it contains actual story-arcs and plots. Normally what i do is whimsical and immediate, mainly because my own concentration is so poor i can't drag a story past a handful of pages. But in the last few years I've become a lot more fascinated with actual storytelling, and have been quietly working on a few different projects to construct some tall tales. So, to 2009.

For me this year is a biggy, because my 3-year Cartoon Network contract comes to an end at the end of january. While this contract was intended to make sure I didn't sell ideas to any other tv companies, one of the unfortunate side-effects was that I wasn't allowed to sell my ideas to ANYONE! thanks everyone for your commenting on my dv page, sorry i'm so damn lame at replying to every one but when you're fool enough to tell everyone your myspace, livejournal, dv and email, you end up losing track of who's said what where and who you should be replying to >_< but any kind comments are OF COURSE very appreciated and make me feel a little warm and scratchy inside, it gives credence to this crazy thing i call a career and make me feel like doing more of it.
