this week hasnt been completely bad. i went to my kickboxing lesson on tuesday.

just before christmas i started doing a beginners web design course for some weeks and on wednesday i continued with web design by beginning the 'next steps' class.

ive also recently got back into printmaking.

mainly just etching.

so yesterday i spent 2 and half hours creating 8 coloured prints by using the same 3 plates as previously.

im impressed with the way in which each one has turned out.

along with older work that i didnt even think of putting onto DA last year, i will be submitting my newest prints on here. possibly on sunday.

so yeah, ive been busy tuedays/wednesdays/thursdays + excersise almost every night....just press/sit ups( which is hard), various stretches to my arms and legs.

i look forward to next week!

mostly ive been staying at home...searching the internet,drawing,listening to music this holidayalthough yesterday i did go out which was fun

went to see a friend and had a meal in a restaurant...a mix of japanese,malaysian,thai and chinese food

i have started my new unit which is also about planning my degree show. i mainly creating drawings,scultptures and prints.

thats all i have been doing so far.

studio work which is very nearly completed

dissertation (over half is already done)

christmas day was pretty good...went over to my aunts and stayed over until yesterday.

my week end was good. i stayed over at aunts,uncle and cousins house on saturday and sunday which was nice because i didnt see them for while before that. i went to a beer festival with them for the first time and drank a really nice ale.

there was a live band and they played cover verisons of great balls of fire, fever ( my favourite song by peggy lee ), etc..

i think someone said to me once " its disgusting for women to drink beer " well, obviously that is their prerogative, i just think it is sexest.

well, this week end i am going to visit my mothers friend and her daughter and have dinner with them this coming saturday after i do my delivery work.

i havent been holiday this year and i wish i was in portugal right now.

the last time i went there was in 1998 when they had expo there with various restaurants from other cultures was which was great.

i also want to go to italy and mexico not just to see art but other things too.

my parents house is in a state! especially the dining room and kitchen. they are thinking of moving but it seems to me at that at the moment its very unlikely that they will do so soon.

the only thing i am not looking forward to is my dissertation when i start university in september

it needs to be 8,000 - 10,000 words.on the other hand, i am excited about creating more art work and seeing my colleagues!

anyway, i have been really bored recently so thats why i am doing another journal considering that my previous was in april.

well, i have started to two drawings...a portrait ( which is in my gallery ) and a larger one...when its completed i will put it on here.

yesterday was a pretty good day because i went shopping with a friend which was great fun.

we also went to see an exhibition last week which was alsso really good! yesterday, i bought jeans, the girl with a pearl ear ring dvd etc....

apart from that...ive have been on the internet alot, listening to music and playing games such as maj jong just to keep myself satisfied.

our house is slightly demolished in the kitchen...having as it open plan which seems good to me...wont feel so closed in and theres more space already...just hope it doesnt stay so messy for so long though.

other than that, nothing else has happened...

i dont mind critiques about my work....so all comments are welcome....

on monday had an introduction to the welding project that im doing right now amd then on tuesday i actually started to use the equipment. it was scary at first when my group were shown the method of cutting for the first time but when i held the shank for the first time( for someone else) it wasnt as heavy as i aspected it to be so i started to feel more confident and decided to have my go straight after rather than be last.

learnt how do arc welding the same day and on thursday i practiced these first two things and my technique turned out to be better then when i first started so i felt happy.

learnt how to gas weld yesterday which was also great fun, just need to practice it again on monday.

i also went to help another student slightly after 4 o clock for about an hour 15 minutes.

then i went to a private view exhibition where the gallery is displaying my work. i thought all the artwork there was absolutley amazing plus there was also flamenco dancing there which was nice to see. i love culture.

got back to the bus station and i saw one guy trying to fight with someone else. apparently there was a stabbing and the police were everywhere and i also saw someone get arrested and put into the back of a police van.

my bus left late yesterday, not surprisingly.

urghhhhhh today I had a lecture which involved being in a group and talking in front of an audience .......................errrrrrrrrrrr NOT GOOD!

well, i have got so much work to do at uni - 3 units to do!!!!!!!!:

discourses 2 unit - which consists of studio work and an essay of 2000 - 2500 words. i handed in my previous one just before the christmas holidays and i also handed in my disourses1 art work not that long ago. for another unit i have to create a file. these needed to be handed in next month! + the other one is on going thing until may. i have a deadline for the essay on a different day to the studio work. its earlier. i am working hard.

well, for the discourses 2 i am working on a very colourful painting and taking pics so oneday you may see them on here.....

this is why im fustrated - trying to do something on here and kept on getting it wrong.....im sooooo tired....

right time for another journal change........previously i mentioned i had a horrible cold, well i am feeling much better now. at last.

i will eventaully finish that elephant drawing in my gallery i just havent got round to it yet because i have been soooooooo busy with university work.

got another deadline this wednesday for my discourses project. my idea consists of drawing and i have also nearly finished typing the back up to my work. so ill finish tommorrow and have my work ready for the next day. atleast that way i will not go in to uni. i wouldnt be able to do anything else anyway.

i have already had my workshop assessment for printmaking. it was last week on tuesday. i was supposed to have a crit but the tutor was away that day.

i really really would absolutely love to paint for my next projects!!!! i definately will.

GREAT I HAVE A COLD. it wasnt as bad earlier on but i now feel worse so i am in bed.

sore throat.

WOOHOO FINISHED DOING THOSE STUPID MAGAZINES TODAY!!!!! ( its actually the 2nd jan)

i arrived home not that long ago and i can now relax a bit. i delivered 1000 mags from one letter box to another - urgggggggh so boring. the only plus side is i got to a bit excersise from the amount of walking i did. all together there are 2000 to do - i done the other half last week. woohoo i have this to look forward next month.

errrrhhhhhhh my new years resolutions are:

1. to continue studying art eventhough i already have been.
2. to keep fit in the gym and after a while to start cycling again.
3. to start composing music again but on my yamaha keyboard.

i still like to play my previous compositions i made up in the past, eg my own classical stuff, piano music for songs ( i used play in a duet sometimes where i would make up piano music for my part whilst the other person sang and made the lyrics including the melody). other compositions include a rock and roll piece based the 12 bar blues structure and " amor perdido" meaning lost love in portuguese ( i am half that nationality and half scottish aswell.) most of my music is in the minor key although i have also produced a few in the major key too.

on christmas day i went to see my aunt, her partner and my cousin which was really nice.

i was almost a bit dissapointed because the car did not start but luckily our neighbour pushed it whilst my father was at the steering wheel.so on my way to visiting the rest of the family, i hoped it would not break down, especially on the motorway.

went into the town centre with my family on the next day and the day after. i enjoyed the food too!! hmmmmmmmm an absolutely delicious christmas dinner!!!!! and as desert i had a bit of cake with profitarols.

i arrived back home last thursday.

i will never forget the time when i got stung by a wasp on a christmas day for the first time! seems strange doesnt it? but at the time my father got my sleeping bag from the loft - and it was there! the pain wasnt as bad as i originaly thought it would be, but it was still bit weird especially in winter! but i understand that it can be humid in the loft too.

i also got a mobile phone, the da vinci code, jumpers,a bag, lotion, chocolate santa, hat and the return of the king dvd - so i now have the whole lord of the rings trilogy! - YAyeee!!! a long while ago i bought the book.

as you can see i have put two new pieces of art work on here - red and blue prints but i dont have any other work to submit at the moment a part from one other thing. i will differently create more!!!!

previously, i had mentioned that i would add work from my national btec diploma. however, i think the images from the sketchbook i used at the time did not look that great at all when they were scanned. they are more surreal than any other art work i ever done. the scanned images are all part of a photo montage. i might put them in scraps, i am not sure. the blue and red prints of the three people are also from my national btec diploma and in the past i mentioned i would also add woodcut prints. those were the images i meant. - the catastrophe ones! NO!, silly me.....ignore that i mentioned woodcut, they are actually silk screen.

ok ill try and tell a bit about myself - i am at uni doing second year of my ba hons degree. the project i am doing now is a continuation from my first one for the second year which was called " self initiated 3" thats my margate exodus project as you can see by the photographs.(although not all of the photos are on deviant art) its an installation where 5 of us needed to create a church out of a lorry container! I had also produced three drawings of the huge back window ( which you just about see in one photo). I have only done various pieces of art work in general at the moment and only some are show on here. but i have decided that i will continue to do my drawing a lot more often. i like to try and work on detail.sooooooooo now i feel i have something more specific to focus on.

that bycicle wheel in my gallery - i will put the completed version of it on here very soon aswell. the original artwork is actually smaller and from a sketchbook.

i have also just decided to put some elephant drawings up as you can see. i would also love to add some other pics of other wild life as i love it so much.
