I'll be in front of my computer probably all day but only because I'm able to use a mouse with my right hand just as well as with my left. Since I have to make use of the warranty on my macbook I'll be organizing and backing up all of my files before I wipe it and take it in to be fixed.

In other words although I'll be in front of my computer I'll be avoiding going online as much as possible so I can actually get through all of the organizing I have to do without too many distractions. Of course the good news of it is I've already found a couple images that I'm considering posting and I'm sure there will be more in the near future.

Between stuff for myself and stuff for a hoodie for my boyfriend (extremely large project and this is comparing it to his squirtle hoodie) we ended up walking out with 15 yards of fabric for $55 to $60 bucks. Considering I was pretty thrifty before dating my own personal Jew we were both pretty pleased. It seriously was an example of why it helps to be nice and as understanding as possible to people who are helping you. The woman who cut my fabric was terrific and ended up giving us a couple extra small discounts for putting up with a couple issues beyond her control.

Anyway, this all means there's going to be a few more blankets popping up in my gallery in the next couple weeks. Really hoping to get as much done as possible tomorrow so I can see if its worth making another run up to Joann's on Saturday to pick up more.

Met some nice dealers and got to throw stuff back and forth at our friend Alex who's now working for VideoGamesNY. All and all it was an ok event.

Next con on the agenda is NYAF. Looking to make some additional improvements on Medicine Seller and put a couple items together to be sold in the dealers room, some friends who got a table are willing to sell for me. So that should keep me pretty busy for the next 2 weeks. I'm considering doing something new for the con but still on the fence about that one. So many choices and probably not enough time.

So this week will continue what seems like near nonstop preparation of things for various Artist Alleys. I've recently added another 22 button designs to the collection I've slowly amassed. There's a lot of neat stuff in the "just about finished" stage that I really need to focus on that I believe would do relatively well this weekend. Current plan is to clean the crap out of my craft nook/also known as part of the living room and then focus on getting everything else accomplished.





On a more personal note, had what could probably be considered a falling out with someone I considered not only one of my closest friends but also longest friends. Not sure what exactly brought things on but the only thing I regret in things is the manner in which my initial contact was made in matters. I've privately made my concerns clear and received absolutely no response other than a "Yea I read it." and an admittance of forgetting all about it. It probably wouldn't bother me so much to this degree if the person didn't lament on multiple occasions having the same exact thing happen with one of their friends. Its just really rough, I know they're under a lot of stress but at the same time they already read my response and didn't take the 10 minutes to type up any type of response and didn't even acknowledge reading it until asked a week later.

At first I wanted a response but now not so sure. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at the very least upset about being repeatedly forgotten. Its just completely hypocritical and shows zero appreciation for all the times I dropped everything to help them out, which I was happy to be some help with until roles reversed and this all happened. First string my right foot. *edit*Yep been proven right, not enough time to respond to a note but plenty of time to sit down and write up a 3 or 4 paragraph update. Seriously upset to the point of tears of just how little our long term friendship obviously means to the other person.

Really I'm just tired of bottling all this crap up. I'm allowing it to screw up my focus on important things and in general bawing in private over it too much.

One specifically I've seen getting passed around online a fair bit is the vectored image of the evokers from Persona 3. This is normally fine until I see them popping up in requests for commissions. Considering that I do castings of a replica based off that very vector I find myself shaking my head. Its usually the situation of the person has had it passed to them after its been edited or resaved so the file name is different or they just saw it before I posted images of the finished evoker. Regardless its my own fault for not tossing any type of watermark on there due to my own laziness.

So just made a batch of simple watermarks that I will be dumping on to just about everything on my gallery. My only issue at the moment is to save extra headaches of having to do it again I placed my website on it, which is still a WIP. Hopefully by the end of the week I can adjust my site to the point where I can have links setup to shoot a person back to here on the pages I don't have ready yet.

This past weekend was Otakon hence my being absolutely terrible at responding and updating on here. I've posted the big surprise costume for this convention which was Digiko from Digi Charat. Pretty different from my normal costumes but still had a good time none the less. Making all of those frills was definitely a learning experience along with figuring out how to make a petticoat.

Was also selling in Artist alley with , , and . Did pretty well but was in and out all weekend taking advantage of Canadian buddy/con photographer StillVisions being down in the states for the con. He was also awesome enough to send me some teaser pics of the 2 costumes he shot for me. The Kusuriuri pics he took are really trippy, I'll be posting them in a few days.

Still it was great to see everyone I got to catch and bummed as anything I missed a few people. Hopefully I'll see them at other conventions soon!

Post con stuff is going to consist of unpacking, more cleaning since the packing for a con bomb went off, and working on WIP costumes I haven't gotten around to finishing. S2 Allelujah is in that bunch along with a couple others I'll be poking at. Also got bit a little by the Hetalia bug, not a die hard fan or anything but there's a character I'd like to do.

Other than that just having a hectic as anything week because, ho-crap job get. Its $10 trial pay design work for a clothing company who sells mostly in the midwest and in Sears. I have the expectations of working with someone who's first language is Korean and thinks his grasp of the English language is much worse than it really is and has no concept of what a normal work day is. In other words I pulled an 11 hour work day last week and had to come in for another 5 this week plus an additional 2 at home when he called to make more minor corrections. So far he's told one of the other employees, my boyfriends mother, that he really appreciates me attempting to drop everything and has liked what I've done so far. Just really wishing we agreed on that 2nd one. I have very little experience in the fashion world and I'm really a fish out of water.

This has pretty much been the gist of most conversation tonight with :icontherealnuriko:

Me: *reading off an of a crazy cosplay chick LJ profile for the lulz* "I am a well known photoshop artist in another fandom." . . . but I will never say which one because I am SO FAMOUS you should already know. . . . *$#%head.

The ceremony was really nice and family was awkward as usual (how odd is it for the parents to be the "weird" ones in a parental relationship?

So now back in NJ tripping over things as the house has become a disaster from both unpacking from Anime Boston and preparing for AnimeNEXT. It seems like I have to do some form of deep cleaning once a month but with the luggage still out and clothing/fabric/artist alley stuff floating around the livingroom and dining room it has to be done.

For everyone who's left me a note, comment, or message here or anywhere else I WILL definitely be getting back to you sometime this weekend. I've been somewhat avoiding the computer in order to get much more accomplished. Positive side is its warming up so Steve will be moving a chunk of his work outside to the garage so there won't be as many wooden parts waiting to be made into various controllers floating around.

Only problem is I have a ton of cosplay stuff that still needs going through along with other odds and ends relating to artist alley type stuff. The half of the room that has most of my fabric and other stuff is all in some sort of order so now its a matter of doing the other side.

This time probably of general cosplay pieces in preperation to be casted. For this I'm having a small issue... whether to just do the belt piece from Gundam 00 S2 outfits or also toss in another piece I was considering casting pieces of to sell. Hint to all you TWEWY fans out there, its relevant to your interests.

Tonight I think I'm either going to work on just the sculpting part and put off baking and whatnot til tomorrow or just finish the whole thing at once and edit it tomorrow.

So now staying with a friend's family I go into the first semester with a full 12 credit schedule which consisted of 2 3 hour classes, a lit and the freshman seminar twice a week. Also was working 35 hours a week between classes only to come home around midnight and work on homework for another 3 hours before sleeping 3 to 4 hours and getting up for class again the next day to repeat again. Also during that semester I ended making amends with my mom after one too many drunken phone calls from the current guy in my mom's life followed by one from my sister the next day crying her eyes out. After a threat involving calling the police assuming he'd have another DUI on file, lovely guys my mom manages to get, and a threat to knock teeth out/pull beard out the Charlie Manson look alike disappeared one night to parts unknown for about a month before he came back for his stuff. I was once again living at home by that point after having to quit my job due to the never sleeping barely eating problem that was developing.

Finish the semester and less than a week before the 2nd semester I end up developing something "like mono" apparently my habits by that point already did enough damage to my immune system and some small bug had me out for a solid week and took me months to completely recover from. As a result I ended up bombing 2 of my courses (luckily not art courses) and that was the end of me going to Marywood.

So how does that relate to now? Well after years of grabbing courses here and there online to get the credits I need to go back to Marywood and finish I decided to completely change tracks as far as schools go and begin attending classes at Bergen Community. At the very least I plan to pick up a lesser graphic design degree and decide where to go from there. With the way the economy is at the moment its probably the smartest thing I could do at the moment.

Anyway so last week was my first week sitting in a classroom and although its only the one class this semester there is something to be said for the confidence boost you get from paying for the class out of your own pocket. Today I finished my first assignment for my Letter-type course and trying to decide if it'd be worth posting my assignments online as I go. I know they'll probably end up in the scrap section by the end of it but since I tend to poke my head into DA often enough it'd be nice to look at.

So right now we're working on Gundam 00 costumes which were mentioned in my last entry. They consist of:

-1 pair of 2 toned pair of pants (x4)
-1 dark blue tank top (x4)
-1 white, pilots color, black bias tape and green diamond colored top (x4)
-1 jacket in the 2 tones of the pilots color and bias tape (x4)
-1 pair of dark brown gloves (x4)
-1 pair of boot covers (x4)
-1 belt (x4)

I'm not sure what Ginny and monty have accomplished as of today but yesterday we managed to get to this point:

2 pairs of pants in need of pockets and waist band/belt loops
1 nearly finished tank top and 3 in need of hemming and edge finishing

Considering how insane the pants are that is actually quite a lot of progress.

Along with that I've managed to procure a table at Katsucon and will be selling goodies along with :icontherealnuriko: and some adorable onigiri made by his sister (go look at the picture she posted they're awesome). I will have the usual papou fruits, pins, charms and odds and ends with a few new pieces I been developing and am currently in the prototyping stage. And Ball jointed doll owners might be interested in seeing the newest developments.

Now that we're getting into 2009 I've begun to notice quite a lot of activity on my gallery in the form of faves and watches. Before I get too far into it thanks to those who have come to visit and have added some of my pieces to their own favorite collections. It has been quite the confidence booster to find fav and watch alerts.

So call me a silly goose but poking around my I came across the folder function and was happy to find out I could put my alerts into various folders. This gave me the perfect opportunity to organize my alerts by year to figure out how things have managed to grow since joining Deviantart.

My thoughts on the whole thing can be summed up in a few bits.

- Holy crap fleece... why are do you eat space no matter where you end up, folded or not?

- I hate dust.

- Only good thing about going through oddball boxes is finding stuff you already bought replacements of. But more paint brushes and a paint is usually a good thing. The rest I'll figure out new homes for.

- I have WAYYYYY too many sketchbooks.

So funny thing, last Monday a small handful of the staff from MangaNEXT decided to do a run to Mitsuwa Marketplace in Edgewater, NJ before seeing Boston and Adam off back to Mass. While things are winding down and we're all getting ready to say our goodbyes it comes up that Carlo and Adam will be going to Nekocon later that week and asked if I was interested in going. Decide that if there are any openings in Artist Alley I might be able to not drop dead from too many cons. After calling I find out that she could squeeze me in and there you have it.

The overall con was interesting, it was rather polarized between the amazing time I had hanging out with people and just the number of ridiculously horrible things that happened. Just a couple of these I'll list below:

1) We end up leaving a good 4 to 5 hours late and what I originally thought was a 4 hour trip was actually 7 hours.

2) When we get to the room at 4:30 Friday MORNING we find that the Days Inn is one of those motel type hotels with the doors that lead directly outside. Not a problem, but when I put my phone down on the nightstand then a little while later pick it up to plug it in I stick my fingers in something slick. Looking at the area under a different angle and I see there's a big smear of oil of some sorts. Stupid me then I have to do the sniff test and come to realize that its horribly cleaned up Lube. I make the little "EWWWWW!!!!" noise and go to wash my hands before grabbing a washcloth to wipe down the nightstand and rinse and wipe my phone off.

3) Friday we come to find the convention center for Nekocon is really nice. Only thing is there's a bit of a bug problem. You see someone on the building staff (non Nekostaff) left some food out in one of the main kitchens at some point and it attracted these weevil like bugs. Normally not a huge problem for a semi large convention center but everytime someone opened food or even any type of alcohol based markers (hello prismacolor and copics) they would swarm. At one point I was using my sketch pad to fan my food hard enough to blow the things away while I attempted to eat a chicken salad. Saturday it wasn't as big a problem but Sunday was somewhat bad too.

4) Once again another building problem. All of the tables in artist alley were these wooden Plywood tables that had table skirts and plastic sheets stapled to it. A somewhat common occurrence with convention centers. They're cheap and easy to apply/remove plus you can just rip them off and throw them away. Only difference between this place and other convention centers is decent ones either remove any hanging out staples leftover from the skirts being removed or attach them with a hammer to drive them in deeper. Needless to say I now have a 2 to 2.5 inch long scratch on my right hand running from the lower part of my ring finger to the palm of my hand. I also ended up having to verbally reprimand a security guard probably old enough to be my grandfather when I approached the security office looking for a first aid kit and trying to keep my hand from dripping blood all over. It should have been obvious I wasn't in the mood for his sarcasm.

So now that I'm done bawwing for the most part about the building and other oddball things about the weekend I really do have to say that overall it was a pretty good time. I made a fairly good amount in artist alley, hopefully enough to take care of classes for the most part. Also it was actually great to get to meet a bunch of new people and see a completely different crowd than I normally see at other conventions.

So MangaNEXT happened this past weekend finally putting the past month and a half worth of work to an end (finall oh lord thank god). For those of you not aware I was the Art Director for MangaNEXT this year and did all of the layout work for the Program Guide. To be honest looking at it overall I am pleased with the finished piece but there are so many things in it I hate with the rage of a hungry PMSing Rhino. Other than insanity involving double staffing and running an artist alley table the con was freaking awesome and I got to meet a bunch of really good artists in my little corner. BTW Hi to anyone reading this better immediately click on that icon and check out his stuff.

Now I know my entry promised some wankst so here it is. STUPID FREAKING VISTA... Of course I mean the operating system and not everyone's favorite angry blackman from the Video Game Zombies (as seen here: [link] ).

No, what I hate is FINALLY after months of tinkering with the computer in the Kitchen to get Illustrator and Photoshop on there and set up in a way where I'm %100 happy a new computer is bought and set up, this time with stupid FREAKING VISTA!!! Now none of the installs I have will work in here and its the computer I work on when I need to use a PC instead of a laptop. ARG the day an OS comes out that will accept older installs of major image programs will be the day I switch to it.

Out of everyone who in the Pokemon hoodie project you are the ONLY who hasn't paid for their hoodie. Before I went to pick up supplies we agreed to the price of $30 for the whole thing (which didn't cover all of my supplies btw). Now I come to find that the tail has "fallen off" in transit back from Otakon. With the way that thing was sewn on it is impossible for it to fall off without punching a NOTICABLE hole in the back of it. Also there was some magical conversation where you told me about it happening. Well considering the only 2 conversations we've had since Otakon consisted of "there's a photoshoot coming up I'll let you know more when I find out more." And the conversation over Skype with Eric you are completely full of it. You should know as well as anyone else that nothing makes me rage harder than liars... especially ones who put words in my mouth.

Also you talked about a "meeting" to discuss more shoots in the future with AfterLifeUSEC and planned on calling me but when asked about it later you had no idea what I was talking about.

I'm really getting sick and tired of your lame bull, you're pulling the same garbage you were playing when you got all up on OT4 or whatever's coat tails where you're only keeping around your "old friends" to see what you can get out of them and pulling a "my friends not yours!"

BTW, if anyone from AfterLifeUSEC is reading this just watch your own asses because she's already started talking her convoluted bullshit. 5 bucks says there's going to be a whole lot of negative comments magically coming out of my mouth within the next couple hours.

It finally struck me as I was working on one of the pieces for AnimeNEXT that I REALLY enjoy customizing munnys (the Kid Robot toy). The problem is I've been having trouble deciding what munny I'll do once Axel and the other 2 are finished. So why not hold a design me a munny contest.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated on the matter of whether I would get enough entries to make it worth it.

I find it horribly ironic seeing as how the person couldn't keep their money straight enough to pay someone (what they thought was $80) for a space in their room at a convention. I really hope the position is just a matter of title and she has no actual control over money. If she does, I'm sure Willy Wonka will end up in just his underwear and a silly Moogle hat.

Steve has just given me a piece of information which has decided what will be my costumes for Katsucon. Ironically its 2 costumes and both of them are from videogames.

The piece of information, Katsucon is actually going to be the week before the release of Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Yep that's right, Pit WILL be finished and worn that weekend.

Other than that I will have the other video game cosplay, a fair number of people already know what it is but I don't want to mention it here until I start posting inprogress pictures.

There "may" be another costume, I'd like to do Ven but it might be another costume I already finished or something for Patti's "grand" evilness she asked for help with and we all know I <3<3<3 the Patti.

*edit* scratch the may, there's also the Persona3 group that I've been tripping over myself wanting to do for the past month. If I can't get everything together for it by AUSA definetly going to be Katsu.

1. My first costume outside of childhood was a rave version of the Care Bear cousin Braveheart Lion my junior year of highschool (that's right i've been at it for an insane amount of time).
2. I made my first actual cosplay on a sewing machine from the 1950's, was sat down in front of it while the woman who taught me sat on the computer in the other room after showing me how to thread the thing.
3. In highschool I was a vo-tard where I studied graphic and printing communications. I can change the ink in a 2 headed press in about 45 minutes.
4. I studied Judo for about 6 months to a year my senior year of highschool.
5. A love/hate relationship has developed between myself and DDR. I love the game for the most part but I HATE some of the converted songs from IIDX and up until recently I hated the local Bemani community.
6. Its really hard to motivate myself to do any type of artwork but is insanely easy to sit down and start sewing something or working on a prop.
7. I would like to travel to Japan but as much as I'm interested in the place, I'm not too interest in living there long term.
8. The US version of The Office takes place in my hometown of Scranton, PA and I have random fangirl moments of picking up random little Scrantonian things the characters do or make reference of.

I am beyond annoyed with certain things going on in my life.

One of these being the pure lack of control I have over my sleep pattern. I try getting up early only to feel like a zombie with no energy all day and end up not being able to fall asleep the next night. I force my self to fall asleep with the help of some allergy meds and next thing I know I wake at least half a dozen times and only manage to get maybe a couple hours of actual sleep during it.

In all of these cases the end result is I'm so fucking tired that when Steve goes to wake me I tell him to give me 5 minutes to get up and next thing I know an hour passed or I feel like I'm going to be sick or have a headache. To make things worse all I seem to end up with is a finger shoved in my face because I don't do this I'm lying because I said I was going to get up and not the slightest bit of caring about my side of things.

To be honest I really don't know what to do but I wish I could tell Steve to go fuck himself.

Anything over $75 dollars automatically has the option for an XL controller, which is "16 x "31 instead of "14 x "29 (the two inches do make a large difference when it comes to design).

The well known, or notorious, freestyler Dumpster Keeper of DDR Freak and other Bemani related sites. He is also the owner and main man in charge of Desktop Arcade which specializes in custom made ASC (arcade sized controllers). Although he has made a few sticks his main focus is controllers for both Pop N' Music and recently Betmania IIDX.

My "job" at DA consists of custom painting Pop N' Music controllers. there is also Jeff Ramos (jiffy) and John... crap I can't remember his last name... well not totally important anyway just what they do... we are the "art department", as it were and john and jeff do alot of the computer imagery while i work in the more fine arts sector.

Ransai (DA's competition) has recently aquired their own art team to join them. Whether its to help compete or what doesnt matter because now once the final designs are finished and its throughly tested (AKA handed over to one matt vanston to play until he can't feel his fingers... again...) will be ready to be made and shipped to the public complete with its own set of art designs for both the discs and the sides.

Determined by how soon this all starts to come together I may not even have to work on getting a part time job because IIDX ASCs are really in demand aparently...
