Not to much in the way of new things. I haven't actually drawn anything in a while, nor have I taken any photographs. Feeling very not-here-artistically. I did manage to get a whack of xmas knitting done, still have lots more to do.

College is going well so far, Pressroom by far is the most interesting subject, we actually got to ink up the press and clean it up. And tomorrow I get to make a plate oooooooooooo!

Ever noticed how writing is degrading? Yes, yes the language as well with all the short forms but the actual art of writing. I'm watching a documentary on Henry VIII of England and they are showing the old books, that are all hand written. Very neat.

A very long time since I last updated this particular journal. I am attending College at the moment for Print Media. Very exciting stuff, I have classes on design, desktop publishing all the way to pressroom!

So far things have moved slowly but I hope it gets more exciting as it goes along. And I may have some more work to put up here.

I'm so chuffed at this moment! For those of you who don't know chuffed is happy or really pleased!

I recently bought a little adapter to allow me to use my step dad's analog Tamron lens on my digital Canon Rebel XT. Of course all manual but hey this little adapter that at the most cost me 80 bucks saves me a lot more than having to buy new lenses!

And then for xmas my Auntie & Uncle gave me an analog Tamron lens which is a bit better than my step dads' lens (least that what he said). I honestly don't know the difference but man I am so chuffed! I just used it to take some photos of Draco which I'll be uploading, it works wonders!

So it has been a long while since I've updated my journal, figures

I've been busy at my co-op which is at a printing place-wicked fun, great people

As well I've got a CREDIT CARD WOOOT! So holiday shopping is that much easier. I also bought a lense adapter so that I can use my old Pentax p/k mount lenses on my digital Canon! It's wicked, and it's obviously all manual but that's good

Hopefully lots of work will be coming your way, I've got to get a proper portfolio started for school so I will be clicking away.

I am not dead yet, No need to go to bed, No need to call the doctor, Cause I'm not yet dead.

I recently went to go see Monty Python's SpamAlot, it was absolutely wonderful. I wish I would have check ahead and seen if we were allowed to bring cameras, our seats were right behind the pit. Expensive but so worth it.

But seriously I think I'm pretty close to artistic deadness, I have 3 'courses', MATH (super ew 29% in it currently, very bad I try I really do but I lack any understanding of math), Online accounting (no idea what the mark is, seems to be going well-it's mathy), and finally Co-Op!

The Co-op that I would think by now is a secure placement is fantastic. I'm working at an actual design-print house thingy. For lack of a better term they recieve jobs which have to go through pre-press then eventually to press after changes or just converting (it depends!). But I really am loving it, the people are super nice and I am learning a lot about taking things from Design to making them printable on realy presses.

And I even get to visit Bindery when the design people don't need me, where I get a glimpse at how things are put together.

I am looking at going to university for a print orientated thing, (hence why I must take the accounting and math) and if they offer me a job at the end of my co-op, screw university I'll just stay there. Then later go to university, what difference does it make my mother is going to university for Russian Language.

You're never to old for university, which is good, leaves options open.

Actual News?
Ha you've got to be joking! Well some new things today I was incharge of the kitchen- I usually am when I close but I was the actual go to person. It was absolutely mental- table of 12, then 4 and then three tables of 2 all at once! With only two people in the kitchen and no Dishwasher! AHHH

Fucking crazy, but our guy at the bar is also a cook so he came back and helped us. It was all good.

And without a dishwasher soo many freaking dishes. But we got it all cleaned up and pretty, least until the closer actually closes! I was out by 9:45pm which is awesome, since I had been there since 2pm. I made peacan pie! It turned out wicked, and I did some apple blossums (seen under)

As you can tell I went somewhere with butterflies or as I call them flying winged thingies. It was nice to get out and go do something photographically artistic.. although it's hard to work with butterflies because they are so jittery and b) boring. But I think the few shots that I posted were alright.

What else is new? Other than work, I have not really done anything arty as of late. I did go to chapters and bought a book on Turner, very interesting chap. OH! And of course playing ridculous amounts of sims2 (Sims2 Apartments looks absolutely fantastic, I can't wait till it comes out!).

It's summer and I am all happy. On the 30th I have a semi-big get together of people coming to my house

Today I was actually outside, it was overcast and rainy so that's why, and I was planting beans, carrots and flowers in the dirt. Yes real dirt I like outdoors when it's not sunny and the bugs aren't out in full force.

So as of the 6th of May, I'll be off to England!
I'm taking my digital Rebel with me, and with that my 1 GB CF card and an additional two 8 GB cards!

Expect a ton of photos when I get back! Hopefully we'll make it out to Black Pool and Wiggin!

On the way the plane is doing a stop off in Belfast- no idea if we'll be allowed of the plane, but that'll be my first trip to Nothern Ireland if we're allowed!

Not to mention... England's Drinking Age is 18. I happen to be 18, so I am really excited to try a wide variety of drinks. If you know any perhaps suggest some?

Ooo we're going to the Derwent Pencil Factory while we're there... MWhahaha! PENCILS!

It has been quite awhile since I have updated. Not a lot going on- just the same old. I haven't drawn or painted anything in ages all this photography stuff for my school keeps me busy. But I'm getting back into the swing of things.

In May I'll be heading off to England to visit some relatives and go to the Derwent Pencil Factory *excited* everyone keeps laughing whenever I say that!

I'm currently working on my Mini Suites for my final grade exhibition and such. I've picked something that I'm really happy with- Phobias, expressing them in a non-objective or abstract way. I'll give you all a formal artist statement when I get to it.

But for now the first one I'm working on is going to be CRAZY textured, it is the fear of white 'Leukophobia'. I will have work in progress shots as well as a final for you.

Speaking of shots! The Canon EOS Rebel XT (black one) is on cheap over at Henry's, so tomorrow if I can I'll be buying it, I'm so excited !

A lot has happen since I last updated, dA has films now- wicked I'm actually really enjoying that they've made it so you can't just add your own films- you have to give them a sample before hand- thank god we're not becoming youtube!

So this week I went to the INTERNATION TORONTO ART FAIR It was absolutely insane, there was so much work there- 3 hours was not enough that is for sure. And a few of my very lucky friends got to meet David Thewlis (the dude who played Lupin for you n00bs) amazing!

So this week in art we've finished our archetypal self portraits (I am completely done with mine I refuse to finish it), and we're working on Linos' but it has to be our 'mentor'. So if you've got any tips/tricks on doing Linos' I would LOVE to hear them .

What else- I do hope that more work will be up but there is so much paper work to the art it's taking me a while to get to putting it all up. Just as a random note I am learning Finnish, if you know any good resources on the web, let me know.

I don't know if I feature them before but probably- when I was going through my Clara Bow stage I looked up everything Bow, and I came across a set of earrings made by ~Mann3quin of her. And ~Mann3quin sent me a note earlier today about her little shop and she is selling these freaking amazing earrings. I'll have to see if I can pick myself up a pair. This week in Art Class *cue dramatic music*

We did Chine-colle a style of printmaking, where you can either put something onto an exsisting print or make something new and apply rice paper or sometimes linens. We used different types of rice paper with oils. They were obviously mono-prints- but holy crap it was cool. I'll eventually scan it in and post it when I get it back

Yearbook is still consuming my life- It's a beautiful thing.

I'm in a drawing mood at the moment... Ooo We finished the clay busts They just need to be fired after they're dry

I got recently, it's pretty cool - I wash dishes. But honestly it's a great place to work we have load of fun, ha-ha pun- load of dishes/load of fun get it?

Anyway I've consumed by yearbook lately and next year I will be my school's yearbook minister... who knows maybe the world! Ha-ha.

I've been listening to Muse's new album: Black Holes and Revelations. It is really good very moody Hoodoo is my favorite track so far.

How many of you watched Pirates? It was awesome, don't include any spoilers here we don't want to wreck it for those who've not seen it.

OH in art we're just finished our clay busts... finally! I think mine is going to break there are definitely some air bubbles. But we do still have to cut them in half and skivvy out the inside and poke holes then put them back together to fire them so. Exciting. I'll bring my camera and take a picture of it before I ruin it or it breaks. Either one.

I had a field trip to Toronto today, great fun. We say a preview of what was going on at the Distillery District's hosting Fashion Cares, say Mr. Jay Manuel, some of my friends got to meet him -__-' I missed it. Ahh well!

We also went to the OCAD Graduating Student Exhibition: Tour De Force. Some freakishly amazing pieces in there. If I could show you guys them I would but they're not mine and I probably wasn't supposed to be taking pictures of the artwork

So speaking of artwork... we're starting busts in class on monday. I need tips, we're using clay.

Oh yeah, I made my school's student government thingy, I'm a yearbook minister

I need someone who speaks Turkish to write me out a note which says 'I am not opening my webcam and I also am not giving you a sex show. Please leave me alone'.

I keep getting the these men from Turkey adding me to msn asking for a sex show. I have this thought that it is the same one too. So if anyone could write that out in Turkish for me, I can just send it to him when he asks, it might help him go to hell. I usually just block him but man, give up already

It's actually rather amusing.

In other news I'd like to give a shout out to all and any artists. Your process work, can see it? I was told today that my process work is good but too chaotic and I need to refine it a little. If you've got process work lemme see it, I'd love to see what everyone else does.

I'm currently in two art courses and a yearbook course which is like an art course in that there is rules of design and layout to adhear to.

My point is, I feel almost drained but so alive because of all the constant stimulation of art is just mental!

I just finished a photography assignment probably a week ahead of when it is due, which leaves me more time to do my other artwork. I finally finished my assemblage I will have pictures soon. The theme of the assemblage had to include a juxtaposed theme, mine was wealth and poverty.

I am currently working on an abstract watercolour painting, which has to include five of these techniques our art teacher showed us in class. It's difficult to get started at the moment. I also have to have this novel 'The Kite Runner' finished for Tuesday with chapter notes. Then to boot I also have to have a finished rough essay finished for peer editing. So I have a lot to do and only 3 days to do it all in.

No doubt I'll do it all last minute. I'm horrible for that.

I tend to watch Fashion file a lot. And they've said that Marc Jacobs' shiney bags are like this season like super cool item to have like totally!

The skinny models are so malnourished that they're disorientated so therefore easily distracted by shiny things - like his bags!


So I'm planning my first oil painting, and therefore I've gone a little mental and found a whole whack of inspiration.

I do hope everyone had a wonderful V-day.

I've just watched Perfume: A Story of Murder [link] . My god is it ever good, not only is Alan Rickman in it, but Dustin Hoffman. It's centered around the story of this young man who wants to bottle the scent of every thing, and funny enough every time he is around someone and then leaves them for instance, his mother tried to kill him when he was a newborn, and she was hung. Then the woman who took care at him at the orphanage, she then sold him and she got murdered and her money taken. And it just kept on going. I suggest everyone should watch this film it's beautifully done and the plot is fantastic

Anyway, I'm still struggling through designing my abstract painting with 4 panels which show movement! It's really tough, so here are my inspirations for today to hopefully encourage me.

I have started new semester as most of you may or may not know, and I'm actually rather bored. Not bored to tears, just waiting for things to pick up.

One of the courses I'm taking is Photography, woot We've started doing pin-hole cameras, I can't for the life of me get mine to work, I've exposed 4 mini pieces of photo paper to light and wrecked them... and 2 others didn't work.

Yeah.. can't wait till we get to a camera that isn't so finiky.

As well in Visual Art, mwhahaha! We're starting abstraction or something like that. So Today's Inspirations reflect some abstracted inspiration I hope to get a hell of a lot more artwork up on dA from this course, the other art course I took (drawing and painting from life) I haven't gotten my work back YET !

I really hate winter, it was nice when december was all chilly and sometimes rainy. But snow uggh I hate it. It was snowing all day today so there is a ton of it on the ground, thusly my mum is stuck in traffic because of snow and my dad isn't able to come get me this weekend cause of traffic which is due to snow. I wanna kill snow.

I'm off for about a week for exams and some rellys are coming from England so it works out well

SUMMATIVE TIME!

Attention all Graffiti artists, stencils, sticker and writers any suggestions you can give me would be greatly apperciated! Because my summative for my Art class is to study a period of art and create a piece which shows a style of the period with the subject being a cow.

I'm like freaking, I'm so not sure what to do... I know I want to do some stickers, and stencils are really appealing.. omfg.

As well I need do research and study the history and movement of graffiti, any suggested websites or books would be apperciated

Recently in my design class we have been making packaging, sounds interest doesn't it?

I found this great way of making boxes that my Auntie introducted me to a while ago and it really hit off. I have like 10 boxes all together. Most likely a few of them will end up here on dA, since I used some brushes.

I can't tell you how great photoshop brushes are, so please if you've never used them, try it. That and the fact that I introducted an entire class to brushes almost Nooobs.

So I've left an image for you guys to see one of the really wicked boxes I made. I didn't design the paper at all, it's not my creation it was a fold out thing from an Issue of Applied Arts Magazine. So I used it because the paper was rather stiff *giggle* Stiff! So NOT MY DESIGN but my folding box talents

I had one of my older pieces removed, it was the Birth of Glue. It was a photomanip of The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli.

Removed the Venus and put a bottle of glue, it amused me.

This was a violation of the rule. But what bothers me is that there are other manips using famous paintings like say the Mona Lisa which are still on dA.

Seems kind of unfair, but oh well what can you do.

I've found some sticker paper stuff for labels so I've started makeing stickers for my sketch book. Today I went to toronto, semi-anxiety attack involved there and saw some amazingly colourful tags, not very original stickers in the area we were in though. but alas


I went out today and bought 2 cans of spray paint- one black and one of those bright greens and I have this big piece of wood which I primed a long time ago...

I need ideas for this, I want to attempt some graffiti style, it has always fascinated me. So any suggestions on what I should do, or helpful tips?

I managed to get 11 hours of sleep yesterday, it was amazing, I'm all awake and such. In Art class we're going to be using chalk pastels to do this abstract compositional study thing- I'm looking forward to it.
