I saw Phantom today with Daniel It was amazing and much better this time around! For once Raoul looked delicious. We had pretty decent seats. I have to say this is one of the best birthday presents ever.

Wow. That just made my day, or weekend rather.

In other news, I had my birthday dinner with my family and Daniel's. Went to see "A Christmas Carol" (yes I know I don't like watching Christmas things until the actual holiday) because we were late in seeing "Where The Wild Things Are" and on Sunday, Daniel and I scoped out the Durham Artwalk. It was the first time I went to it and I love it! I'm thinking of entering the April one next year and hopefully be able to sell some prints and thingies.

AND I get to see Phantom of the Opera on Saturday!!! Daniel bought me tickets to it for my birthday.

Anyway, about time I actually had a rant.

In the mean time I'm going to clean out the yee ole gallery of stuff that I don't want on here, especially the things that end up on crazy fetish faves! It's disturbing that I just found a link to "Give me your princess" on yahoo answers for some one that wants pictures of anime slave girls. Most likely for their own personal collection to beat their meat to.

Needless to say, it's one of the things I am deleting. I'm getting tired of faves, comments and notes from guys (and sometimes girls) with anime fetishes about it. I made it as a JOKE. If you've ever seen Voltron, you'd understand why. Yes I am well aware that once things go on the internet (even those not meant to be sexual), shit tend to hit the fan from time to time. Therefore I am not going to put fanart up (not like I ever do that much anyway)that'll be seen as potential going blind and hair palms material.

Whoa, it's November. I turn another year older on the 17th and I'm already feeling crotchety.

Thought I update this thing while I am in Seattle.

1. Went to SAM (Seattle Art Museum) and Scifi Museum on free museum day. Scifi was awesome but the lack of Doctor Who stuff made me sad

2. Went to Bumpershoot (Seattle's Music Festival)on Labor Day. Saw Franz Ferdinand and Modest Mouse in concert (we stood in the section near the stage)! Janelle Monae was awesome! [link] if you haven't heard of her, you need to, because she has awesome scifi references in her songs and has a neat dancing style (she forward moonwalks)! Plus we also saw a music group called Delhi2Dublin that does Celtic/Bhangra/Reggae fusion music. I'll post pictures from my vacation when I get home.

3. There was a cougar in Discovery Park (big news for a while here)! Very odd because it's a suburban area.

4.Walked on the beach near my sister's place.

5.Ate yum yummy foods.

6. Went to the heated Salt Water pool and then had to get out of it right when the wind picked up (cold!).

7.Had a birthday party on the beach for my sister.

8. Went to Vancouver and ate yummy Chinese food.

9. Went to Port Townsend.

Looking at new brands of art markers on supply catalogue sites. O_O ish liake pornz for artists. so...many.... colours......

Just out of curiosity, what brands do you guys use for art? I mostly have Prismacolors and Tombows. I've used Panatones (before they became Tria) in the past at school and I haven't tried Copics, Trias, Chartpak, Touch, Panatone Universe Twin or Blick's markers.

On another note, I know some of you are going to be attending uni next year. Do you guys need a list of college stuff you'll need for your dorm room?

THE 2nd YEAR ON DEVIANT ART

Another year on DA. The highlights:

1. I now have 100 watchers! Like last year, most of you are female and on average 10 years younger than me. I've come to the conclusion that this is my target audience. Plus it's awesome to know that they things I enjoy are also being enjoyed by another generation.

2. The Most Faved Artwork in my gallery is "By Lotus Light" with 46 faves.


Finally something newer that I painted becomes popular.


Last years no. 1 fave "Mermaid" (37 faves) dropped to no. 2. I've noticed that my mermaid/sea fae work is popular here. Must be me pining for the sea.

3.The Most Pageviews in my gallery is "Anddisto Isle - Moonlit Road" with 3,237 views.

I'm actually proud of this one. It's one of my favourite environment concepts I have created.

4.DAdrama. Not much of it this past year, thankfully (or at least I didn't have to deal with it). I just lucked out with severe artist's block and depression (and I still haven't drawn anything worthwhile ).

4a. This gets a sub category: poking fun at the "Twilight" series. WTF? When did abusive relationships = sexy? I didn't get that memo when I was in one. Seriously, I had emotional flashbacks while reading the series and this is coming from a person that is still skiddish and gets into panic attacks when it comes to talking to guys let alone being around them . What's really sad is that teen girls think Edward Cullen is the "ideal" guy. Don't even get me started again about the writing and dialogue. I am still convinced that I can write better things. *must get book ideas published*

5.Fan Art/Fiction still scares me
Thank you AGAIN naughty people for keeping me from searching for fan art for my favourite movies, games, TV shows and comics. I can NEVER EVER look at Doctor Who the same way again.

6. I know I said this last year: Having support from great friends and fellow artists. We all like having that. It's nice to have someone else look at your work to give a helpful critique to make it better and to know that there are people that like what you create (and share the same interests as you). I'm glad that have my watchers and friends here on DA

Everything is fine. I got a better explanation this time. Apparently everyone that is near sighted has a slight chance of developing lateral degeneration (which leads to retinal problems). So the way my eyes look is normal for me and they are just going to be checking up on it. I also did a perf vision test just to make sure everything's fine.

Okay guys, this is it. I find out this Friday if I have retina degeneration.

I'm looking forward to having a weekend but I am dreading Friday. I don't want to not be able to do the things I love any more.

Anyway, I enjoyed my break from work (have to go back on monday! ) and having my sister home for Christmas. I didn't get to see a certain movie with her because she wanted to see something actually worth watching (though it would have been funny to watch with her because we have the same sense of humour).

Anyway, We watched Slum Dog Millionaire at the cinema last night. It's pretty good and sorta depressing. Kinda like a Oliver Twist story set in modern day Bombay.

I planned to do a Christmas sketch since I didn't get around to doing Christmas cards this year (besides, I don't have a lot of your addresses to send them too), but since I celebrate Christmas for 12 days (til the Feast of the Three Kings) I might get a chance to get around to doing it since I have a break from work.

Seriously, I get this every time I have a new temp job and someone sees me drawing or painting something. First, they think I traced or copied someone's work and then when I finally convinced them I do draw (which sounds like a broken record now), they ask that same dumb question like I have no clue.

I'm so tired of people acting like no one is suppose to be talented, creative or want to do anything other than a boring desk job. What's worse is that they assume that IF you can draw then you MUST be able to get ANY art job that's out there easily because they have NEVER met an artist (not like there are at least 1000 people applying for the same job that you are).

Sometimes if I wanted to be a bitch and use my viper tongue I could just easily say, "If I was able to get an art job do you REALLY think that I would be working here?" but of course I am too nice to say that even though they made a snide comment at me.

Yes I know there are people that can't draw and just as there are people that do amazing work, but it's just one of those things that depresses me. Oh nevermind that there are highly talented people that make my art look like kid doodles. But it irks me that I keep getting the same backhanded compliments.

Okay end of my ranting. This is what happens when I work to hard and have no time to draw

but in other news I am FINALLY updating my art on this site. Plus I also need to work on my website and weed out the art on there that not really that great. Which is going to be tough to figure out.

I have 's contest prize completed and I need to post my pictures from this year and last year's trip to Seattle, but they make me pine (hahaha no I did not mean a pun for the Evergreen State) to go back there. I fell in love with the area on the first trip when we went apartment searching with my sister. Eh I'll get to post them eventually.

Been in a rut all day. Just depressed. New job is okay. It pays the college loans and the bills but tires me out at the end of the day. I need to draw but it makes me sad to do so. Art job markets aren't good now (not like anything is right now anyway...). Most of the jobs are for well experienced artists anyway

I keep thinking about Grad School even though I cannot afford it.

It means ivory leopard. When I came up with a name for my website [link] , I wanted something that says I'm unique and versatile. Thus albino leopard (though ivory sounds better), plus I wanted to reference a blank canvas that can be used to create anything

I joined DA to talk with other artists and to make friends.

Pretty much the same stuff I am obsessed with now. Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, LOTR, Hellboy, Mermaids, Selkies, Vampires, Star Wars (classic trilogy only), DOCTOR WHO!, pirates, Silent Hill, etc

3. How many watchers do you have now?

99 I just looked it up. Wow. I didn't realise I have that many watchers. I love you guys!

Hmmmm this is a hard one because I like A LOT of people's stuff....

I'd say for watercolour art.
for photography.
for digital art. Her work is amazing and looks almost like traditional painting.

Both. I fave more though. I try to leave comments when there is something I really want to say.

This weekend, I went to the wake and the funeral for my friend who died last week.

I have haven't heard back yet about my retinas.

My birthday and dentist appointment are tomorrow (11/17). I know my wisdom teeth are in bad shape so I know what to expect from my dentist I'm hoping that I can get them filled instead of having them pulled out.

AND just for laughs, (stop laughing at me) I am reading Twilight. So far it's leading up to my expectations of it and then some (grammar errors and epic clichés oh my!). For a slow paced story, I just can't put down because I am laughing......... I have a new found faith that I can get a book published now.

Well at least Meyers does a good job of getting the feel for the Pacific Northwest.

What a great early birthday present (in ten days).

I went to the Eye Doctor today. I have a new one. The visit went fine until he had me referred over to the other branch of Duke Eye Centre for photos of my eyeballs. The reason: he suspects early detection of retinal deterioration (because I have thin retinas) and possibly glaucoma. This comes to a shock to me for two reasons. One is that my other eye doctor never mentioned any of this, unless is it something new. Two is that for artists, eyes are VERY important to us and more so than our hands (hey there are people that can paint with their feet and mouth AND do a pretty good job). A sculptor can get away with feeling to create their art, but not so with a painter, unless it's abstract art.

I have a follow-up appointment in 3 months, but the thought of this is still scary. I won't really know anything until then. Other than that, my vision is about the same as last year. No need to change my contact lenses or glasses.

Anyway, getting to the point. I've been on the computer A LOT in the past few months. I don't mean for a couple of hours. More like several. I'm going to cut back on my comp hours and limit it to checking email and messages and job searching. So if I don't respond right away on DA, you know why.

Prints are made on Premium grade photo paper (75 lb ( 280g/m^2) or higher, 11.5 mil) and come in High Gloss or Soft Gloss, which ever you prefer.

All prints will have a wide margin for mounting and framing purposes since not all of my work fits in the same dimension standards that paper and frames have (square shaped art will be printed with a rectangle shaped dimension margin unless you want the print in a square dimension margin).
