Can someone explain to me why people are so fucking sensitive these days? Is it something in the water? Seriously man. I'd like to know why people are compelled to DELETE EVERYTHING ZOMG instead of acting like a mature and responsible person and either ignoring it or oh, I don't know, rising above it.

Really, people, it's not hard to get a thicker skin about it.

In a related rant, people really need to not be so close-minded and unwilling to change. Writing the same Mary-Sues for years is not impressing, nor will you get me to care about them.

NEWSFLASH: NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LOVE YOU, DID YOU KNOW THAT? Also, the proper response to people not liking you is not "I HOPE THEY GET WHAT'S COMING TO THEM BECAUSE HOW DARE THEY NOT LIKE ME I AM PERFECT IN EVERY WAY" Honestly, people need to grow the fuck up and take that stick out of their asses. ...no, actually. I'm not going to stoop to that fucking idiotic level. I'd like to NOT be on par with the stupid people, kthx.

I will say, however, that deleting your journal in which you are dreadfully uneducated on [insert subject of reader's choice here] just because you had some people opposing your opinion is cowardly, stupid, and does not impress me at all. Learn to back your shit up instead of taking the easy way out and deleting entries. The same goes for hiding comments--it's one thing if they're outright flaming you, it's another if you just hid it because you don't like what they're saying/they're calling you out on your asshole behavior/they make valid points but you're too pigheaded to respond.

That being said--guys, if you ever disagree with something I say, by all means, make it known! I'm not one of those idiots who deletes entries, and I'll actually respond to your comments too. :3 I'm always up for debate, lolololol.

Suzumi would be shouting obscenities up, down, left, right, and probably other directions that haven't been heard of. Then she'd decide she's totally not meeting her end in a blaze of flames, so she'd find a way out--and drag my ass with her after a few moments.

Angst. Lord do I give them all angst. Even Reili has angst (in the worst way, hargh, I am so sorry, Reili) and she's my most cheerful character!

Kyoutei for the best mom, hands down, just because she adores kids and wants to be a mother. Jade is a close second, but Kyoutei wins. XD

Best dad? It's a tie between Aki although he's probably a better waifu, lololol and Tael. Aki would be the quiet, guardian dad, while Tael is the fierce papa wolf.

10) Which of your OCs do you think will most likely be put in jail?
Suzumi. Also Shinkirou once his dad stops covering for him.

Jade becomes an accomplished swordswoman--but opts for the quiet life, retreating to Amerio and taking over Bea's shop.

Hey guys!

I'd like to talk serious (or at least serious enough, anyways) about something today. I mentioned it on my Twitter and was amused by this, but it sort of irked me. Not because I was called it (because I really could care less XD), but because the person in question had the definition all wrong.

So.

Let's talk cyberbullies.

_{....*bekuki is totally right, it sounds like a kinky sex play. ANYways.}

Cyberbullying, as defined by Wikipedia: "[it] involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others."

Here, have another: "...[it's] when the Internet, cell phones or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person."

And another! "...[it's] a situation when a child, tween or teen is repeatedly 'tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted' by another child, tween or teen using text messaging, email, instant messaging or any other type of digital technology."

Does this ring any bells for people? Reminding you of a certain imageboard? No? Well, it certainly reminds me of trolls on /b/. It also reminds me of High School, funnily enough.

Moving on. So, now we have definitions. But what of them? Anyone can get a definition off Wikipedia and not really understand it. So, let me propose a scenario...

Scenario: Alice has been having issues with Bob at school, and the two don't really get along due to contrasting personalities. Bob creeps Alice out, and though Alice has tried to be nice about it, she very politely asks for Bob to stop hanging around her. Bob appears to agree.

For the next few weeks, however, Alice keeps getting e-mails. Hateful ones, ones filled with disturbing words and death-threats. Every time she thinks she gets rid of them all, more of them flood her inbox. For a time, the e-mails stop, however then she starts getting constant phonecalls. Random deliveries come at all hours of the night, things she'd never even placed orders for in the first place. Letters begin after a time as well, and despite her never hearing of any of these people before, they've all heard of HER...


Scary, right?

That's what cyberbullying is. Cyberbullying is continued, repeated, non-stop (as in from the time they met you until now, they've done nothing but harrass you constantly and bombard you with stuff) harrassment--essentially like an internet troll, except trolls usually do it because they get amused by it. Cyberbullies, on the other hand, will do it just to make you fall. They'll use anything they have on you--your real name, your address, your phone number, any internet screennames or e-mails...

So I've established what it is. Now let me establish what it's not. Let's spin up another tale...

Scenario: Anna, Sarah, and Sue used to be roommates. The three used to be friends, but they had a falling out. While Anna and Sarah have their faults, Sue's are aggravating, because she is a lazy roommate. She promises she'll get rent in ASAP or that she'll finally start cleaning around the place--and then doesn't. Anna and Sarah are patient, oh man are they patient, in hopes that miss Sue will change her ways and be a better person. I was all set to write some long-winded entry about how the internet is like high school all over again except you can never leave--except I realized I really didn't care that it was like that and that people shouldn't have to defend their actions on the internet, no matter how they come off.

So instead--how about another recommendation entry? The last one (which was music!) worked out pretty well and I got a lot of cool new people to listen to.

So, denizens of the internet! Recommend shows to me! This pretty much falls under anything, from what's on TV every Thursday to cartoons to anime to j-drama/tokusatsu/whatever! You don't have to know what I like, because I'll practically watch anything! (Really! I am not a space-western person and I loved what I saw of Firefly.)

All right, y'all, it's crotchbleeding week, so forgive me if I'm not in a ~*fantastic*~ mood. I hate doing this kind of stuff, but guess what: I have to, because people just refuse to get it.

So.

Besides dA and LJ, I have other places I vent. As much as I love you all, there are just some things I cannot talk about here for various reasons, whether it's because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings just because I'm pissed about something, or because they're things that just make me insanely uncomfortable for the whole public to see. Show of hands--if I didn't mention it/tell you through other channels, who here knows the whole story behind my life imploding last May? Or what my mother told me last June? Or hey, who here knew beforehand that I spent about a week in a mental hospital my junior year of high school? (And before you ask, no, I'm not going to tell you about it.)

My point is, there are some things I don't want to say in front of certain people, or things I have to get out of me that I don't want certain people to read. There is a difference between venting, which is basically just getting all of your anger out, and confronting someone about it. Confronting someone implies I'd actually be calm enough to do so...or actually thought the issue could be solved.

Honestly, would ANYONE want to be confronted by someone who is just screaming at you the whole time? No, right? That's not how you solve things.

You know how there's only some things you'll say in front of friends, because you're just that comfortable with them? That is the kind of setting you need sometimes for venting. Some people have 4chan, someone I knew had some place called The Witch Cove, some people have LJ communities, some people have sockpuppets.

Me? I have UKAB. If you want to ask about what it is, feel free. I don't really care that you know I'm part of the Bitch Board. If you're going to bitch about the banner, or the little slogan on the banner--it's an in-joke, has always been an in-joke, it's never going to STOP being an in-joke, and it's nothing personal. Suck it up, for fuck's sake. It's my venting ground when I have no other fucking place to go, and I'd really fucking appreciate it if no one would persecute me for it.

NOT NEW BUT STILL AWESOME

~solitarymischief is resurrecting her old RPG, Effigy. It's getting settled in, and it's almost open for business--it just needs players! I'll let the synopsis speak for itself:

In the year 2032 the rising prices of fuel, coupled with dropping food resources sparked the third global war. It was vicious and bloody, with massive losses on every side. children were left without parents, while mothers and fathers were left without sons and daughters. Riots began to spring up in protest of the war, and in desperation over the resource shortages.

Finally, in 2035, the U.S. government initiated their final plan. Labeled "Operation Eden's Gate," a team of scientists created in secrecy a lethal weapon that would manage to wipe out all but the hardy few of the world's population. It was a virus, scientifically known as Ebola Habidestis, and widely known as Shiva to those who survived the onslaught. The virus was released by stealth onto Middle Eastern territory, where it did the job it was supposed to, quickly and with brutal efficiency.

However, the US government made one fatal error. The disease did not stay within the confined boundaries of the countries it was released in. It quickly spread to Asia and Europe, and very quickly, Africa. America watched in horror as the virus crept closer and closer to their homes. Then, it happened. One passenger, a Mr. Donald Williams, returning from China in an emergency evacuation of American citizens from the ravaged country harbored the virus, and passed the inspection before boarding. The virus did not manifest symptoms until he was home, but in the course of the 13 hour flight, he infected all but three other passengers on United Airlines Flight 43, June 24th, 2036.

The disease spread like wildfire, and with it panic, chaos and looting. Those who managed to survive the initial wave of the virus soon fell prey to the darker side of society, or to other, lesser diseases. Another life lesson I've learned today, huzzah!

Being nice has its limits, did you know? And I believe my limits just got crossed.

I've decided to give up dealing with people who can't grow up, or who feel like pitching a fit because someone hurt their pwecious feewings, or anything like that. Come on, people, this is the internet! You're connected through a box and talk to other boxes! Really, the internet is a big enough sandbox that if you get sand kicked in your eye, you just need to clean your eyes and go back to playing. There's no need to start crying over something small like that--hell, the only time I've ever cried about sand in my eye is when I was 4.

So! I've decided to not associate with people who do these things anymore. ((EDIT: Since it's come up twice now, this is the kind of person I'm talking about.)) I'll probably get hell for my decision, but I don't care. I mean, really, dealing with people who refuse to change will just drive me insane! Why should I have to put myself through that kind of misery? The answer is that I shouldn't, and guess what, I don't have to! Yaaaaay.


On another note, I applied for a job at a Maid Cafe today. XD

It's okay, dA, I'm bad about updating my LiveJournal too. *patpat*

Anyways! A journal to get my old one off my page. Nothing special, really. Life is life. I've been doing some soul-searching, as I mentioned on my LiveJournal. In a nutshell, my life exploded last year, and I'm still trying to get myself back on my feet. There is a lot of healing that still needs to be done--and you know what, I can accept that. I'm perfectly okay with it taking as long as it needs to.

I just have to keep looking up at the sky.


Other then that, I hope everyone's doing well! I still do work on art behind the scenes, I just don't think anything's good enough to post yet--I should probably get back into traditional stuff, though, I kind of miss it.

Also, all of you should listen to Vocaloid songs. They're so fun! (And the Vocaloid Horror songs are awesome too.)

Am I the only one that forgets about pageviews? :'D I just noticed I'm passed 18,000 pageviews and my only thought is "...when did that happen?"

Having a super-special-awesome program doesn't mean you're suddenly super-special-awesome. Especially if you keep churning out the same mediocre things you've done before.

You have to, well, put forth some effort. CS3 (or any high end program, really) will not make your pictures awesome overnight. It's not going to do it for you--you have to do it yourself. Don't think you can snap your fingers and make awesome effects come out of thin air.

I'm tired of people not using the potential of the program--and don't give me that crap about "but I don't know how to shade/use layers/whatever" because there are tutorials. You're just being lazy.

Please start putting forth some effort? Please. It kills me to see someone saying they're using CS3 or something and it looks like something that was badly made in MSPaint. Use Dodge and Burn if you have to! You have to start somewhere, right?

You don't need a significant other to make your life complete. It's nice, but it's not going to kill you to be single. Really! I swear you won't melt in the daylight and you won't keel over or anything like that. Also? Quit with the whining about being single--it only makes you look desperate.

On another note, for those of you that are in a relationship? Please don't put your significant other on a pedestal and claim them to be the end-all to everything. Please? It's not healthy. And since couples always break up, it will just make your break up that much harder. Don't do that to yourself--you'll just be miserable.

One last thing. I know people like drawing pictures to their significant others--and those pictures can say a lot. So try not the make them too, erm, raunchy? I mean really, I don't want to see a depiction of you and your s.o. in as little clothing as possible--it's like putting up a neon sign that says "HI, WE'RE BOINKING EACH OTHER ". You wouldn't shout that at a street corner, would you?

As someone who has worked with pixel bases before, I've seen this happen all too often.

I think if all you do is change the color of the prepixeled hair or add a shapeless blob that's supposed to be a dress or something like that, that it's not really art and you shouldn't call it yours, because, in essence, it really isn't. It's like the concept of recolors--you can make Sailormoon's hair a vivid green and change all her colors...and she's still Sailormoon.

In short, please to be trying harder, people. :/

I ran into some really interesting logic today.

It basically went "People insult my artwork and it's very hurtful but instead of rising above it and taking the higher ground, I'm going to do the exact same thing to other people, with my only basis being that other people did it to me first."

Because that totally makes sense, right?

*sigh* The longer I'm on the internet, the more I realize what utter fucktards most people are. I mean, really, with that logic alone, it could be boiled down to "I'M DOING IT 'CAUSE I CAN" and then they sit there and act genuinely surprised when people, instead of mindlessly agreeing with them, actually disagree with them and tell them what an assface they're being.

Please. Go have your ~*intense rivalry*~ with user B somewhere else, and go find another place to validate your ego. Get a Livejournal, hell, get an actual journal, and whine in that. And ffs, grow up. Honestly. Getting banned from user B's dA page hardly warrants the reason to call them a "bitch" and a "skank" among other things. Newsflash! If you like that artist and want to get unbanned, maybe you should, y'know, sit quietly and let them stew it over? Some people can be real assholes about banning, but if user B, who had been planning on unblocking you, sees what you're doing...well, it doesn't earn you any brownie points.

And since I'm a know-it-all now, I'm going to use my know-it-all powers to form a super sentai team and fight crime. I'll be the Blue one. Who's with me?

This journal really got me thinking. Perhaps it's because I'm much more reserved than I used to be about aimlessly requesting art, but...

I'm curious. What do you think drives people to be so incredibly rude? Things like Techno's journal seriously make me not want to take any sort of request art anymore. And it's not just that. I've learned as a request artist of sorts, people are really damn picky over absolutely free art.

I don't really get how people can be so anal and picky over something the artist did out of the kindness of their heart. The artist did not have to put their hard work into a request piece for you, but did so for whatever reason. It's request art. You know what that means? It means you're on the lowest end of the totem pole. (To me, from lowest to highest, it's request art, gift art, art trades, and then commissions.) It means you're not allowed to be picky, damnit. You want a specific pose or some shit? Put forth effort on your end too. The person who is freeloading and doing nothing to earn their art should not have the right to have control over every aspect over the piece. Suggestions like "maybe a dynamic pose would work best?" are nice, but at the end of the day, your character is at the mercy of the artist. And, let's be honest, they can draw your character however the hell they please.

I'm not even going to bother with the "I want you to change THIS AND THIS AND THIS KTHX," but because it pisses me off on such a level that I want to kill someone. To that type of person: fuck you. You asked for a request art piece and that's what you got--it's FREE FUCKING ART, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BITCH ABOUT IT. You want accuracy? WHY NOT COMMISSION THEM INSTEAD?

Being an artist frustrates me sometimes. The more I improve my own skills, the more I'm absolutely certain people are only friendly to me so they can suck up to me and get art off me. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but oh god does it feel that way with some people. Especially when people ask me for art trades when it's painfully obvious that the only one who will be putting forth any sort of effort in the trade is me. (I can understand not being particularly skilled with something, but I can tell the difference between "still learning and trying their damndest" and "totally not trying at all." I'm not an idiot, people.)


tl;dr, I really don't get why people are so insistent and anal on the internets and I have a feeling that some people want to use me for my art skillz.

I have mentioned Axis Powers Hetalia before. It's an amazing manga (and now anime!) written by Hidekaz Himaruya. It has anthropomorphic versions of various countries and all in all, it's a very lighthearted, fun series.

What some people may not know is that it was canceled off of TV stations in Japan due to some protesting. Hetalia has the nature of being pretty controversial, so it's only expected, but--the protesting's started up again and this time, the target's set on canceling the manga completely. In and of itself, that's completely unfair and uncalled for.

So there's a counter protest going on.

All I ask is that you please leave a signature. Please please please. You don't even need a Livejournal account. I love this series so much, and I'm very certain other people love this series too, and it's not fair that a group of people are trying to shut this down.

HEE HEE PIXEL DUMP. Are you tired of them yet? I'm not. Pixels are quite fun!

I'm forcing myself to stop making/using blanks and bases--I really don't learn anything from tracing over lines or using pre-existing lines. To me, it's much more rewarding to look at something and go "I made that completely on my own" instead of going "I used someone else's hard work to make that."

I don't have anything against bases or blanks! I know some people who do marvelous work with editing (*bekuki is an example off the top of my head) but with my own art, it just feels like I'm stunting my own growth. I may or may not delete all the edits and pixels with bases out of my gallery--I think I'll just throw them all into my scraps. It's discouraging to see that my edits get more attention then my actual art, especially when I feel like I'm getting to a point where my art is decent on some level. ^___^;

The blanks I have made will stay up on Photobucket, because it seems like a shame to delete them, but from now on, everything's gonna be 100% all me. I'm sorry if you're only watching me for my edits--I do hope you'll stick around for my actual drawings! ^^

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?

I stood up for myself in a way I didn't think possible.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I didn't make one last year--I'm not good at them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes.

No.

5. What countries did you visit?

None. It'd be nice to go out of the country though.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

Finishing the first book of Elementals would be nice. Also, friends that are close by.

May 20th, 2008. The day I broke free, so to speak.

Breaking free.

Waiting so long to make a decision.

Physically, I got sick on and off. Mentally, I got stressed so badly my period didn't come for months. I also didn't eat properly for a time.

I don't get how people complain about watchers and stuff. I used to bitch about it too, but honestly, it's not that important.

Who gives a flying fuck if they comment anyways? (An exception, of course, is when you'd like comments and no one leaves one, for example, 's Inspiration polls.) The point of dA is to share your artwork. As long as you're doing that it doesn't matter how many people comment or watch you. Honestly, the people who are such whores for "COMMENT PLZ DAMNIT" are the kind of people I think need the comments to validate their existance. Think about it, people. In the long run, having people comment on your little internet account does nothing. It means absolutely NOTHING. You are bitching and whining and moaning about something that is virtually nonexistant and should not have so much of your attention devoted to it.

Why the hell does it matter so much to you? Being e-famous won't make you super-special-popular in the real world.

You know what? Please. Shut up about the stuff that ISN'T important and focus on what your dA account is made for--art. Watchers and comments be damned.

Because it's awesome. If you've never heard of it, it's a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. If you do the math, that's 1,667 words a day, more if you'd like. (I write just over 2,000 words a day, for the curious.)

It's an excellent chance to bust out your writing skills! And it's fun. I vote we trade NaNo stuff.

This is me. My novel excerpt changes daily--and it's always something I've written during that day. Why? I just think it adds variety. 8D

It's still not too late to join up! Even if you don't win, it's a wonderful feeling to write every day. I know I love it.

Random fact: The song I'm listening to is incredibly epic and crops up in every movie preview evar.

My morning ended up being hell and I cried for an hour, but an iced cappuchino and a banana nut muffin later, I am feeling better.

Except I'm filled with some dread.

Mostly just to get my vent off the main page, as I kinda hate keeping them up for too long.

There are a lot of things I've been thinking about lately. One of them is my birthday, which--doesn't quite leave me as happy as I'd hoped. (It's tomorrow, for the person who's gonna ask.)

The other thing I'm willing to disclose is I've been thinking a lot about what happened back in May. Perhaps I've been thinking about it too much, but...I guess I'm just worried that, even after all these months, something could still happen that will just completely destroy everything I worked for.

I like my life in the stable, finally happy place it is right now. I don't want that to change. I really hope it doesn't.

To the recent fucktard who both banned me off their page and stalks my dA every few days or so:

Banning me off your page proves how goddamn fucking immature you are. I could say a lot worse, like how your art never seems to improve, your writing is riddle with so many errors, along with the style being so stilted and dry that it makes me wonder if you've ever read a book, or that all the fancy coloring supplies still make your pictures look like messy oil pastels, but that's my opinion, oh well.

Congrats on proving my theory! I don't know how it will improve your life, considering how SENSITIVE and BAWW-Y you are, but I can say that your idiotic actions will make sure you won't have any friends. 8D

Good luck getting people to critique your work when you obviously can't handle it! Why you even bother with it I don't know--you halfass listening to the critique at best, and refuse to listen while whining and moaning at worst.

I'm disgusted to see you on dA. You're never going to change, you're never going to try to improve, you're just going to let yourself be as inept as possible. Soon, your watchers will realize that you're never going to change, and, well, seeing the same style time after time is boring.

Eventually, no one will comment anymore, because they're sick of your whining. They want change and you're not giving it.

And I bet you'll whine when that happens too.

For those of you in the comic book world, you might have already heard this. But...

Michael Turner passed away yesterday night. That may not sound like much to a passerby, but those familiar with the name will know who I mean. He did impressive work on Witchblade, covers for both DC and Marvel, and ran Soulfire and Fathom, both comics I adored without end, among other things. His art is beautiful, his storytelling is enchanting, and the times I spoke with him, he was a wonderful man who was thoughtful and down to earth.

I was aware he had cancer, yes, yes I was. But just by speaking with him, I just...I had this feeling he'd be the one to beat it. He was doing fairly well the last time I heard, so for me to just learn about this...I think I'm still in shock. It's just--so heartwrenchingly sad from any angle. 37 is much too young to die, for anyone. Comics just isn't going to be the same without him.

God bless, Mister Turner. Thank you for the joy your artwork brought me, and my deepest prayers go out to you, your family, and all your friends as I type this. You were a wonderful man.

For those who don't feel like reading, got in a car accident last November, and us people at a Sailormoon forum only found out rather recently. She has a "locked-in" condition, that basically means she can't control any muscles other than her eyes.

She's slowly getting better, but there's still many months ahead of her. And I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to do my damndest to help out. Us at the forum are beginning to donate money to help pay for Sara/Glory's medical treatment, and we're spreading the word however we can.

So please. Please at least read it. I'm not asking you to donate, no, nothing like that. Just to help, in any way you can. Please. I've only talked to Glory a few times, but she's been someone I've always looked up to, and she's such a nice person.
