Other than that I've been pretty much glued to politics. This whole Election has really got me worked up, as well as the economy. I created an independent blog to deal with my political thoughts, and basically anything I feel like talking about. You can find that here [link] be warned though, I have some pretty strong political views, and if you get bent out of shape when it comes to political opinions or opinions in general don't read my blog, I'm not looking to make enemies with any of my DA people. Other than that I haven't been up to much. I've been pretty much working on this manga non stop. I hope everyone is doing well, and that you are all keeping busy, but not to busy. Alright I'm going to go for now. In closing I'll say hopefully the manga will be complete in late October or early November. Besides my art I've been seriously looking for work. This damn economy really sucks, and finding a job is really chapping my ass. However, I won't give up, because I know I'll find something. I might even open myself up for commissions after I finish STBJ #1, but I don't know. We'll just have to see. Other than that I haven't been up to much, just hanging out watching tons of anime, Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke while I do sketch after sketch. Oh Yeah I promised you guys some surprises didn't I? Well I haven't forgot about them. They'll be coming this month. So keep your eyes peeled. Anyway thats it from me. Other than that things are going alright around here. My stress level is pretty high still, but drawing is keeping me centered. I'm really looking forward to my upcoming move this summer, so I can get away from some of this stress. However, I'm going to be going right into another stressful environment, but in a much cheaper place.

On another note my Birthday is coming up on the 19th. I'm not excited, but I'm not dreading it either. I am officially going to start work on STBJ #1 tomorrow. I went through a lot of phases with this project, and about a week ago I decided to scrap the old story and rework it to be much more funny. I also needed to do more character introductions since their are 16 kids in the class besides the four boys who are the main characters. I'm very satisfied with the rewrite and I feel it's either now or never. I've also been drawing individual pictures of each of the 20 kids, so I could get comfortable with them all. I also have been studying techniques I've learned from reading other peoples manga, and plan to put a lot of it to good use. Hopefully I'll have a finished product some time in May. So wish me luck this is my first comic book in almost 7 years. I hope all goes well.

Besides reading Manga, drawing, writing, and being lazy I've been watching a lot of anime movies by Makoto Shinkai. He has a breath taking style, and he creates such beautiful worlds with such vibrant characters. His films are also filled with lots of emotion. If you ever get a chance to see She and Her Cat, Voices Of A Distant Star, The Place Promised In Our Early Days, or 5 Centimeters Per Second, you should definitely check them out they are well worth your time. The first two he animated all on his own. Which I find amazing in it self. Anyway that it for now, just wanted to update my journal and let you all know what I've been up to all month. Sorry guys but I just had to do that one. I just wanted to update my Journal ,and let everyone know what's been going on with me. Other than being sick I have been working on concept art for my Scifi comic book. I recently reread the four episodes I had written of it, and got re interested in trying it out. However, the backgrounds will be sooooooooo trying for me. I'm not really good at drawing futuristic style cities, but I'm going to work on improving my skills in that area. I actually already am. In addition to that I found one of my oldest sketch books the other day. It has some Disney sketches I did back in 95. Excellent work for my 15 year old self, so I think I'll upload a few of them just for fun, but I will scrap them soon after I upload them. Other than laying around designing stuff, and finding old sketch books, I've been drawing my ass off. I swear I looked at a stack of papers I've drawn since I really got back into drawing this year, and man I've probably got close to 500 sheets of paper with various kinds of sketches from all my comic book ideas. I could almost say I've drawn more in the last 10 months than I have in the past 6 years. It's amazing how much I've actually improved from when I first started close to this time last year. So far I'm right on track with my goals for improving my skills, but I still have a long way to go. As for issue #1 of STBJ well I've fallen behind quite a bit, but I'm going to go back to work on it this month. I have a problem with starting one project then switching to another one, but I'm going to finish STBJ if it kills me Anyway that what I've been doing, just drawing and living. The comic book is coming along good, but slowly since I want it to be good. I have a couple pages completed, but I still need to fix them up in Photoshop and add the tones. I don't think I'll be uploading them anytime soon though, because I want to complete the whole book before I actually post anything, that way I can be working on the second book while I'm uploading the first. I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but it's already feeling well worth the time and effort I've put in. Other than that I've been working to improve the sex appeal of my female characters, and trying to work on character posing in general. It's been working out pretty good, and my characters are looking pretty great. I also recently revisited one of my old characters and drew him after a couple years of drawing anime. So far the new year has been pretty productive art wise, and my optimism has been through the roof in this new year. I've set a lot of new goals for myself and I'm looking forward to accomplishing those and setting more goals to achieve. I'm determined to make 2008 the best year I've had in a while, so I'll keep all of you posted. Take it easy my DA people and I'll talk to you all later

My lovely Wacom, so dependable *hugs tablet *

06.] What color or color combinations do you find yourself using most often?
I like to switch up colors, So I never use a lot of the same color, but I do use a lot of green and orange. I used to mix them together when I was in kindergarten I thought they looked cool

07.] What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
Coloring because I want it to look good

08.] How long does it take you do draw a picture?
Depends on how distracted I get. It can take as little as 20 minutes to 2 hours. Computer work always takes more than 2 days because it’s very involving, and I’m easily distracted.

09.] Do you keep your rough drafts?
Of course!

10.] What font do you use most often?
:Lately it’s been Agent Orange, but soon it will be either Comicbook or Comic Sans.

11.] When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
I was doing 150 DPI, but now I’m doing 300 because it’s bigger.

12.] Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
Yep that’s why I get so distracted Cooking is the main thing I do during drawing

13.] Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
As many as I feel like doing *gosh *

14.] What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Usually printer paper, I save my sketch books for important work.

15.] What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
Duh ^

16.] How long does it take you to ink something?
Since I digitally ink it takes me several hours, but I get nice crisp lines that way. I’m to messy for pens.

17.] Do you do comics, or fan comics?
Yep I do comics of my own. I’m not gonna waste time doing other peoples characters in a comic. I’m an old man I don’t have an eternity

18.] Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
Yes and No, they are a hell of a lot of work, but they are very fulfilling when you complete one and your satisfied with your work.

19.] Have you ever submitted anything to a magazine?
No, but I did have a drawing featured on this show on Nickelodeon when I was 14

20.] Did it get published?
Uhhhhh…….

21.] Who are your favorite artists?
Ken Akamatsu for creating Love Hina, Hiroaki Samura for creating Blade of the Immortal. Also I have to mention my guru Katarina Stapic from DA shes an amazing realism artist, and as I said before shes my artistic guru

22.] Do you like anime/manga? If so, what are your favorite series?
Yes/Yes, So far it’s Glass Mask (2005) for anime and Blade of the Immortal for manga.
Honorable mentions are : The Boondocks, and The Prince of Tennis.
23.] Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
Yes/No, Doug, SpongeBob, Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry.

I’ve also decided to revisit a character I made up back in 1998 I think, and I redesigned him to have more clear cut features, which was inspired by the anime series Glass Mask (2005). I might upload some of those sketches in the future with the profiles or maybe later than that. Anyway that’s what I’ve been up to.

I’ve seen a lot of people asking what inspires you to do art. I would say I'm inspired by life in general. There are so many things that occur everyday that I find inspiring. Life is ugly, cruel, sad, angry, and disappointing, but at the same time It came be glorious, fascinating, beautiful, happy, and surprising. Take it easy my DA people

Other than ghostly research I've spent the last weekend finishing up my STBJ Halloween picture. It was alot of work but well worth the time I put in, so I hope you all enjoy it.

*Update*
I removed one of my deviations today because I had another breakthrough this weekend and I've decided to redesign those characters once again. This won't affect my current two comicbooks since they are already completely designed. I finally have found the style that I've always wanted for these characters and I'm super excited, though this story won't come out for a few years. It's indescribable when you finally achieve a satisfaction you've been searching for for 5 years.

However, all the distractions havent been bad. I did some really nice pics for a couple friends, and I managed to finally finish up my deviant ID. I also for the first time in a long time got an idea for a piece. I had this idea to draw the two main characters in my comic as Lindyhoppers. If you don't know what a Lindyhopper is just think of the movie X and if you havent seen that check this [link] . I also plan to color it but make it a sepia color like an old photograph. I might post that one soon, but I'm not sure. I actually have alot of stuff from my comic that I haven't decided to post yet like the character profiles, and the cover. I also need to quit messing around and get back to work on my comic, but I need a couple pictures to use as referance, so I'm gonna try to get those this week.
