There are a few words I can use to describe Michael Jackson. He was a hero, a humanitarian, an innovator, and an icon. The Death Of Michael Jackson is an unfathomable loss to the entertainment industry, his fans, and the world. Like Elvis and John Lennon before him, there will never be another person like him and his mark on the world is a legacy that will never die. Sleep well, Michael. Long live "The King Of Pop".

Yesterday was one of the saddest days in the history of comedy. One of our world's greatest heroes, George Carlin has died. He was an amazing man with so much insight on a variety of subjects such as airline etiquette, sexual escapades, and of course the english language. He was host to a number of talk shows, comedy hours, and variety shows such as The Tonight Show.

He went on many comedy tours too, making people around the country smile as he traveled. Carlin was also an accomplished author writing three books based on his comedy routines, Brain Droppings, Napalm and Silly Putty, and When Will Jesus Bring The Porkchops?

Carlin was not just a host, a comedian, and an author. He was also an actor, appearing in many TV shows and movies such as the U.S. version of Shiny Time Station after Ringo Starr's departure and a few of Kevin Smith's Viewaskewniverse films such Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Dogma as well as another more serious comedy by Kevin Smith, Jersey Girl.

"Take a fuckin chance!!"--George Carlin (1937-2008)

He will be missed.

Lates,
Andy ^_^

This is a KoRn survey, only people that know KoRn well will be able to do this.

What is your favorite KoRn album, including Unplugged?

Life Is Peachy because it is nothing but that raw, underground KoRn sound that you don't hear anymore. "Evolution" off of "Untitled" sounds too mainstream. Same goes for "See You On The Other Side". There hasn't truly been a good album since "Take A Look In The Mirror".

Who is your favorite member?

That would be like asking which of your kids you like the most. I'm partial to Jon because he is the essence of KoRn followed by Munky because he is the most devoted member of the band having never pursued another side project besides KoRn itself.

What is your favorite song?

Right now (Ha! That's a good one, too), it's probably "Hollow Life". It has a truly eerie and haunting melody further amplified by Jon's amazing lyrics and vocals. My true favorite will always be the first song and video of KoRn's that I ever saw, "Freak On A Leash". Plus, you can't beat the scat part lovingly crafted by Jon. That kind of wild banter takes talent.

Which is your favorite KoRn DVD?

The only one I own, "Deuce". It documents the best part of KoRn's career prior to the release of "Untouchables". It includes the original biographical documentary, "Who Then Now?", all the music videos from "KoRn" to "Issues", and lots of other juicy tidbits and even some humor of KoRn just passing the time in their daily lives. I will warn you, unless you know this already, the menu on this DVD sucks. Just hope to god you have a "Go To" or a "Display" button on your remote. It'll make it sooooo much easier to watch anything you want without trying to navigate the cumbersome menu system. Other then that it rocks.

Which nickname is your favorite?

A tie between Munky and Fieldy. Munky's stems from his monkey-like toes and Fieldy's originates from "Fieldy Snuts" or "Feel These Nuts". If you watch WTN, the story of how Fieldy got his nickname is further explained.

Which is your favorite Video?

Another toughy. Probably a tie between "Got The Life", "Freak On A Leash", and "Here To Stay".

What would you do if you became the new guitar player for KoRn?

Probably party hard and drink all their beer like Head used to.

Do you like the old school KoRn or the new KoRn music?

Definitely Old. Everything prior to "Issues".

Do you listen to KoRn everyday?

Probably.

How many KoRn posters do you have?

None

How many KoRn concerts have you been to?

None -_-

What song sounds best to you performed live by them?
Probably "Blind" from the Woodstock '99 show. Jon screams "ARE YOU READY?!" and the crowd goes fucking nuts.

Are you mad at Head for leaving the band or do you think it was the right thing?

No, because I too am a Christian and I think it was something he needed to do to better himself. Not because he didn't love the band anymore, not because he heard his young daughter singing "A.D.I.D.A.S.", but because he was addicted to crystal meth and he had also been an alcoholic even before that. Even though he loved his brothers in KoRn, he needed to go be with his family and really find himself. And if God was his answer, then so be it.

If you were in KoRn what would you want your nickname to be?

Probably "Drewsy" or "Andryn".

What would you want their new albums name to be?

"Bad Moon Smiling" or "Redemption"

How many KoRn albums do you have?

Only two (Follow The Leader and Life Is Peachy) but I'd love to have more. I have a lot of stuff on my mp3 player that I downloaded.

Do you wear KoRn merch?

No, but it would be nice to have a KoRn shirt or two.

If you got stranded on an island, and you only had one KoRn album which album would you want it to be?

Life Is Peachy. I think it would be fun to sing along and perform your own version of "Twist" at the top of your lungs in the middle of nowhere.

What would you do if KoRn broke up as a band?

Mourn the loss and try to remember all the good times as I listen to their entire back catalog including the mainstream stuff.

Do you think their music is a bad influence on teens?

Absolutely not. What KoRn does is play music and music is art. Art is a great way for teens to express themselves whether it be through drawing and painting or writing and performing music. KoRn is not the anti-christ like par...

Well...What can I say...I am now a marked man. I finally got the tattoo I'd been wanting for about a year, but I just didn't have the balls or the resources to do it. It's a fox that I designed with kind of an asian flair. Although I designed the basic shape and color scheme of the tattoo, my artist (Dave Wulff of Tattoo Faction) took the design and drew it up with his own personal touch. He basically took it and made it less stylized and more realistic (added an eye with a lash, whiskers, color scheme, an actual nose, and an overall furriness) like I wanted. Even though I knew it was going to hurt like hell, I knew it was going to be worth it because of Dave's beautiful work (I saw some of his work online; [link]).

It didn't really hurt as much as I thought it would. Lets just say it felt like one big bee sting. A 45-minute-long bee sting. It hurt like crazy but I just tried to keep myself busy (and my mind off the pain) by talking to Dave and everyone around me (My mom, my aunt, my cousin Tara, and her husband, Jared, who wanted to see my family and I get our tattoos done because they themselves have a couple or more tattoos). Might I also add that Dave's assistant had to shave part of my leg before the tattooing because it is quite furry. LOL!!

It was also really cool that my mom and my aunt both got tattoos. Yes, my mom got her appointment with Dave at the same time as me, but it was just the spur of the moment for my aunt. She knew she wanted violets for my grandparents, but I didn't think she'd actually do it that day. Violets were my grandma's favorite flower. My mom got a couple of roses (red and yellow) with a butterfly also as a tribute to her parents. The red rose means love and the yellow rose means friendship. The butterfly symbolizes my grandparents rebirth in the kingdom of heaven.

So, why did I choose a fox do you ask? Well...I have always admired their natural beauty and their role in some mythologies as a shy, clever, generous, and often comical figure. They are also worshiped in the Japanese culture as the deity, Inari, the Shinto god of fertility, rice, agriculture, foxes, and industry. I am also a big fan of the Disney films, The Fox and the Hound and Robin Hood, both of which feature foxes as main characters.

Anyway I cannot really put into words how wonderful this whole experience has been. It is something I will literally cherish for the rest of my life.~Andy

Even though it transcends a genre...it is the best film I've seen since Star Wars Episode III and that was two years and at least 100 movies ago (I don't know the average of movies out every year but this is a safe guess). Sure the acting was schlocky and even some might go as far as to say the actresses in Death Proof were a little homely...but if the film were made any other way it would've tanked more than it did. I honestly don't believe in the 'academy'. Any of the movies nominated are either utter overly artistic garbage or something terribly boring that I wouldn't have seen otherwise...great job guys!!
Last night, my roommate Matt and my suitemate Greg and I traveled to a haunted site in Sylvania nearby UT known as the Gibbs Rd. Bridge. Now we had been there once before but we never truly saw anything until tonight.

Well we were planning on meeting a friend of Matt's that he met on MySpace (Stacy) for dinner at Hooter's and we had some time to kill. Since we weren't eating until almost 11PM, we decided to get a little bite to eat at Taco Bell. Then I suggested that we go to one of our favorite haunted sites like Holcomb Woods or the Gibbs Rd. Bridge. Since it takes about 45 mins. to get to Holcomb Woods in Pemberville from UT, we decided to go to the much closer Gibbs Bridge in Sylvania, about 15 mins. from UT.

It was already pitch black and we had a feeling that tonight we might see something. Well when we got there it was very spooky, dark, and kind of foggy. We parked the car and got out to look around. It was cold outside (well it is Dec.) but when we got on the bridge it got really cold. So cold, that my teeth began to chatter. We didn't see anything but I think we might've provoked the spirits around the area a little bit. We had a bad feeling and decided to leave.

We came back to dorm for a while to get ready to go to Hooter's and then after a while we went. When we got there, we waited for Stacy for a while and since we were all starving, we ordered our food because we figured by the time she arrived the food would be ready. We were right. So we sat and talked and enjoyed our time. Stacy also brought along a friend, Ann who was just as nice as she was.

Somehow we got onto the subject of our ghost-hunting exploits and decided it might be fun to show Stacy and Ann one of our favorite spots, the Gibbs Road Bridge, which we had been at just two hours before. When we got there (we took two cars and the girls followed us), it seemed just as normal and cold as hell but then we noticed that someone else was checking out our ghost hunting spot! Pretty cool to see another group of crazy young people like us, but since there were so many people there, it wasn't as scary or fun.

After a while the other group decided to leave because they couldn't find anything. Little did they know that after they left some weird shit began to go down. It got colder and quieter as before and I thought I might've seen a figure looming in the woods on either side of the bridge but I wasn't sure. We were all getting cold and wanted to stay a little longer, so we decided to observe any strange activity from the warmth of our cars.

We sort of just sat on the bridge for a while until we all heard the grinding of an engine. Greg and Stacy both swore that it wasn't them and they might've heard it coming from outside somewhere. I looked around again on either side of the road by the barriers trying to find something. Matt said he might've seen something but wasn't sure. Then, I spotted something! I freaked!!! It was a shadowy figure beside the road that appeared to be bobbing up and down in some fairly tall weeds on the edge of a creek underneath the bridge. All I saw was it's head and shoulders. It had no neck and no face. Just as I freaked we sped out of there!!

Here's a rough sketch of what I thought I saw:

I know it was a week ago but I thought I would write to let everyone know that I am now completely legal! Yes! I also did some nice things for my b-day with my family.

I Went to Quaker Steak and Lube (awesome car-themed restaurant with great wings) on Weds with my mom, my aunt Gretchen, my twin sister, Heather (It was her birthday too of course), my aunt Robin and my cousin, Alaina.

On Saturday, I went miniature golfing with my family at this neat place at a mall nearby where I live called Firefly. It is unique in that the course is indoors and lighted by black light which has an effect on most of the set pieces on the course.

I also got a lot of nice things:

1. Star Wars Episode I DVD (Mom)
2. Star Wars Episode II DVD (Mom) (My collection is now complete!!)
3. Aerosmith CD and lots of fun little things (electronic game, candy, jiffy-pop) (Aunt Gretchen)
4. The Fox and the Hound DVD (Heather) (Awesome film BTW)
5. Billy Madison (Aunt Teryl and Uncle Larry) (They got me Star Wars Ep. I too but I exchanged it for this movie instead)
6. Silver watch (Aunt Teryl and Uncle Larry)
7. Click DVD (Aunt Robin and Uncle Harry)
8. Batman Begins DVD (Matt and Family)
9. Borders Gift Card (Viorica)
10. Robin Hood DVD (from the gift card and refund $$$)

I returned the other movie that Matt and his family got me (50 first dates) and I used the gift card and the refund money today to buy the Robin Hood Most Wanted Edition DVD (You have no idea how long I've wanted this movie on DVD. I remember growing up all I had was a taped copy and it got cut somehow in the middle but now I have the definitive version on DVD. Ooh-da-lolly! ^_^).

I know I was probably going to ask for it for Christmas but since I had the money and couldn't friggin wait to own and watch this Disney classic! ^_^

Anyway, I had a sweet birthday and I bet you're all thinking "Wait a sec...why didn't he get totally wasted?" My reply is "Being wasted is stupid and I've got plenty of time to drink in my life now that I'm legal. Plus it was my b-day and I didn't want to louse it up. I did have a margarita at Quaker Steak though. Not a big deal."

Hey y'all...

...Sorry I didn't write sooner but I've been busy. I just got back from fall break two days ago and it was nice to spend some time at home. So nice I really didn't want to come back. I did a lot in those four days I had off.

On Friday, my mom came and got me and I went to my cousin's homecoming football game. I'm not that big a fan of football but I mostly went to see my cousin, Alaina on the drill team and my cousin, Justin on the Rose Court. It was colder than a witch's nipple let me tell you.

The next day, I was trying to sleep in and my aunt and my sister called to see if I was up yet. Nope. But I did get up and I ate something and then I took a sandal-less shower. Nice.

Then, we went out to get my haircut and go to my cousin's soccer game and then after that we would get lunch and then Heather and Aunt Gretchen wanted to go do something special. We ended up going to the South Park mall to browse for a while and pickup my Aunt's reserved copy of The Little Mermaid on DVD. I love Disney movies and as far as I can remember this is the first one I ever saw in theaters so it has some signifigance to me. Great animation, great story (thanks Hans Christian Andersen), great characters (especially Ursula; I've always liked the Disney villains), great music (Under the Sea, Poor Unfortunate Souls, etc.). Overall one of the best Disney films created (up there with The Lion King, Aladdin, and Robin Hood).

Then on Sunday, my aunt, my sister and I went to a pancake breakfast at my cousin's school. Not much else happened that day. I just spent some time with my family and played some video games.

On Monday, I mowed the lawn and just hung around for a while. My cousin came over and had supper with us. I also watched Tommy Boy with he and my aunt. Great movie.

On Tuesday, I had a tooth drilled (it had been hurting a while). I also spent some time with my mom. We went to the Salvation Army store and I was able to find a few nice shirts and a pair of slacks that fit me. I also found an old Sonic the Hedgehog tape there and I bought it (only 49 cents). Then I went to Wendy's with my mom for lunch/dinner and I left Bay around 5pm.

I really didn't want to leave, but I'll be home again on possibly veteran's day weekend (no school that friday) but if not, I'll be home again for Thanksgiving.

Anyway, I kinda tired so I'll just sum up the rest of my week:
- Got a 100 on my history test.
-Traded in some stuff at BuyBacks (a second hand media store) and made almost 40 bucks.
-Chem test got cancelled till sometime next week.

BTW, I like many am mourning the loss of a great man of the world: Steve Irwin (1962-2006) R.I.P.
He will be missed.

It's been a little while but I'm back.

Sorry I didn't post this sooner but I've been busy the last day and a half since I've been back. I just wanted to write about my Spring Break and how great it was.

Get ready for the uber-longest post I'll ever do! :-D (Be ready to invest at least an hour into reading and digesting this, that is if you truly care)
Friday, March 3, 2006

On Friday, my mom came to get me around 2pm to go home. I finally gave her the CD I made for her birthday (Barry Manilow, Luther Vandross, and Michael Buble). On the way home, we stopped at a little diner here in Toledo called Dudley's. They have the best chili dogs ever!!

We got them to go because my mom had to be at work at 5pm and we had to make tracks!! We got home around 4:45 pm, so we must've made good time. I unloaded all my crap from the car and my mom ran to get ready for work. I said hi to my sister, Heather and gave her a big hug. I also went to look for my kitty, Winnie (I'll have to post some pics sometime) . She is the best cat ever.

Then I watched That 70's show with Heather and had a little dinner while we waited for my Aunt Gretchen to get home from work (she's a teacher). She also had to stop at Drug Mart on the way home. She got me some GOOD cough drops (Cherry kind; since my throat was still bothering me from the week before; nasty bout of flu), Some candy bars for us, a movie (Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell; Great movie if you haven't seen it), a Sonic the Hedgehog comic (#159) for me, and coloring books and crayons to make us feel like kids again. I haven't colored in years, so it was kind of neat.

I also gave Aunt Gretchen a CD of some music I got for her on Morpheus (I have to find a better way to get free music because everytime I use Morpheus, my computer crashes!!!! Ahhhh!!!). It had a lot of great 80's music (The Police, Journey, Toto, etc.) on it, so I think I might eventually make a copy of it for myself.

Something else that was kind of funny that day was that I borrowed my friend, Matt's portable DVD player and when my aunt saw me at the table watching it, she thought "Oh shit! What did he buy now?!?!" because I've been notorious for my eBay escapades since Thanksgiving when I bought Tommy Boy and my mom was like, "Where the hell did you get that?" I've decided to put my eBay adventures on hold for a little while because I don't have a job or any money to support such a crazy addiction!!

Saturday, March 4, 2006

This morning, I took a shower (REALLY?! I'm such a dirty boy! I haven't showered in weeks!! J/K!!! Good lord that would be nasty!!!) and it was great because I didn't have to wear sandals in the shower to protect my feet from foot fungus and mildew!! Ewwwww!!!! I clean the shower once in a while, but I have to wear sandals cause the shower isn't as clean as my shower at home. It was sweet! (I'll stop talking because nobody wants to imagine me naked in the shower)

The night before, I had called my cousin, Justin and asked him if he wanted to go to that great video game store (Hollywood Video GameCrazy) that we went to over Winter Break in good 'ol Elyria hick country. I bought a couple games (ok so I have a little money, but Sega Genesis games don't cost that much either; About $1.99 a pop) for my Sega: Gunstar Heroes (greatest Sega game besides Sonic and Toejam and Earl), Bubsy (super cool bobcat that died too soon thanks to a crappy cartoon show and a poor PSX game), and Altered Beast (one of the first Sega Genesis games and great classic gaming fun).

After that, Justin and I drove back in one piece to good 'ol Bay Village and went to the library to check on our MySpace pages (the internet in my house is busted and sucks anyway, it's dial-up!!!!) and have him show me how to set up layouts, music, and other things on my profile page (it's a little easier to use than Xanga and there are more people using it). Then we went to Quizno's for dinner (We met my aunt and Heather there) and got some subs to go since my sister was babysitting a girl from the daycare center she works at (Gotta love that Steakhouse Beef Dip sub!!).

Then Justin, Aunt Gretchen and I played some good old Sega games (funny thing is I also brought my PS2 home for break, but I didn't play it at all!!! I love my PS2 but you sure can't shake a stick at good 'ol Sega! ^_^) for a while and then when my sister got home around 9-ish, we watched Wedding Crashers...

...I have finally discovered the time to sit and create a new piece of artwork for my deviantART gallery. I just hope nobody thought I died. I'm alive and well, but terribly busy most of the time. Here are some future projects I have planned:

--Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 3
--The Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast
--Batty Koda from FernGully
--Secret of Nimh characters
--More Sonic
--Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
--Minerva Mink (ooh baby! that's what I like!!)

...FernGully: The Last Rainforest was one of the first movies I remember seeing as a kid up there with Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and all the other classics. The reason why FernGully was great was because of its memorable characters (Crysta, Zak, Magi, Pips, Batty, and Hexxus) and great music (Toxic Love, The Batty Rap, If I'm Gonna Eat Somebody, etc.) but most of all its message. The message of FernGully was environmental conservation. And an important message it was. We only have one Earth. Let's work together to protect it. Great movie. :'-) And the DVD comes out soon!! A must buy this summer when I have more money!! :-D
