I feel chatty today.

one of my good friend on DA, torture=device, a few journals back, had discuss quite elaborately on drawfags, which is pure genius writing on identifying the disease of the DA art community and i really have to stress that on deviants that do warhammer arts and the such. if you have not read his journal and never heard of who he is, man, you are missing out on a very talented artist. [link]

me and him are worlds apart in terms on our views and personalities, it is been a great opportunity to know him and share his artistic experience and most currently, his journal i am mentioning: the drawfag. even though some stuff doesn't immediately makes sense and jam-packed with emo-ness.

Let me start by saying that DA drawfags are stagnated artist drowning in their own pool of confusion and ego and the notion of artistic improvement seems like a quest that is so not within reach. Drawfags, ok they cater to their circle of fans and peers who acknowledge their stuff is gold and constantly begging the artist with stupid request and art challenge that ultimately make the already shitty art of the drawfag even worse, hitting rock bottom. This can be seen on a lot of DA space marine artists who keep on producing static, non-improving arts of SM of the same pose, same color, same style, same composition again and again and they use very heavily on art reference. Most of the time of other better artist's art and the worse of all, copying and referencing from GW codex, oblivious to the fact that they have committed plagiarism and when their "art" was view by more experienced artists, they have no idea that those better artists are shaking their heads mockingly and condemning his art to oblivion. Now I am not against referencing, in fact i used it a lot and i encourage it, because it teaches noob artist to be better. you can't run before you learn how to walk. But~~~, if the artist stay in that comfort zone of referencing other people's shit and refuse to grow a backbone and challenge himself to produce his own creative stuff, then you basically know who i am referring to.

Drawfag are those people. They have no chance of creative growth what so ever, because they are just dancing monkeys catering to his legion of fans. whenever he want to do something that is "him" or something to break out of his fandom norm, he feared that he might lose fans over that and thus, he weaken, and continued to produce the same old shit again and again. Which is why he need help in doing his art, he NEED the reference, because he have no hope to draw due to lack of artistic confidence and the skill that is to be developed.

now i pity them, because yes, i used to be them. We are all drawfag when we start to become a little bit famous and there are fans hanging around our page and start suggesting what to draw (what to please them, more like). Yes, it is good feeling that your work is being enjoyed and people like it but at what cost? at the cost of you becoming a robot/vending machine that takes other people's desire first over your own when you are the one drawing? that's too bad. I used to enjoyed it, surrounded by fans, worrying over how much pageviews i got and so on. But a drawfag will realise at one point that all he is enjoying before is all a illusion and when he look into his art, he puked over the grossness of artistic lacking. To those like me, who had been awaken, i applaud you, to those that are still in the illusion, read on and wake fuck up.

so the drawfag realized, his ultimate goal is self improvement and not popularity. he began to become serious, arrogant, and unapologetic toward his fans, they are dragging him down and preventing him from growing. he needed the push, a kick up his arse, to propel him on a track where he can draw confidently, creatively and self satisfied (note: not fan satisfied). His fans became his biggest enemies, they began to badger him, to pull him back into doing what they want him to do, they fear that the drawfag might change into someone they no longer recognise and oh! familiarity is so seductive. this is the stage where a lot of drawfag failed and a few break through. the drawfag think to himself, yeah, but they are friends and it is so hard to gain popularity and peers, might as well do the same shit like always. And so they failed epically. But those that break through, they emerged a different men. yeah, they lose friends and fans, it is the price they are willing to pay. They start all over again, starting to draw stuff that they really like and improve with the scale they never did before and got good, becoming the artists who are worthy to call themselves as "artist".

Melancholic? yes, it is. the factor that govern this is "peer group". If the drawfag continue to mingle around with the same old insecure, lousy shitty DA a...

i have been looking through some of my old stuff and discovered, to my satisfaction, my recent work had improve in terms of linework, perspective and anatomy and the best thing is now i can draw without paying too much attention to references and such. which is good

ok, another thing. this semester will soon come to an end, i will still be busy but now i have settle down, manage my time around and living comfortably and all. so i will have time as usual to draw sci fi stuff and as my watcher will know, i only draw imperial guard stuff from warhammer 40,000.

there is a serious lack of fluff and illustration from the staff itself when it comes to imperial guard. more background material will be great to have in such broad and diverse army. my next plan, if it is not changed, will be to do my own codex on mordian iron guard. sounds daunting and i might get into trouble with gw but i think it is high time the mordian get a full codex treatment of their own. from the mini soldier sketches to the campaign/theatre fluff as well as famous character from their organization. even the outfits and armament need to have "imperial armor" standard kind of wealth in terms of info.

those who are in favor say aye ^^

and we shall do this together. everyone feeling the same as i am are welcome to join. the task is to research on the subject (mordian iron guard) and distribute material (from sketches to references to fluff to stories) so that we can produce a quality codex done by ourself.

it's epic. and if it is successful (even a few pages) the codex can be expanded to put in other armies such as tanith ghost, elysian droptroop, harakoni warhawk, valhallan, krieg, armageddon, vostroyan and much...

Thanks to my good fellow malaysian flat mates buddy, i have got a copy of COD5 in my newly brought laptop. muahahahahahah~

ok, i will review it.

the first impression that came into mind is that this one is very different from its cousin (ie, COD, COD2, COD4). the simplest explanation might be that it is developed by another company. Treyach, i suppose?

the box art is very cool. It have an intense atmosphere screaming f*cking-grimdark-intense killing and suffering in a subconcious way. To compare its boxart to other grimdark title like DOW, others seemed to be like trying hard to look brutal. Get what i mean? Usually, the intensity lies in its subtle use of psychology.

ok, into gameplay. There is no easy way to say this so i will just go straight to the point. It is the best ever.

I have been a constant fan of COD for a long time. Right from the start with Infinity Ward's COD. The previous titles just seems to lack realism in their gameplay. You are always the great invincible hero going through the campaign and you can sorta predict it right from the start~ I like their story though but realism is lacking.

now, COD5 opens with a great storyboard artwork, grunge type of mission briefing with simple animation that both explain logical sense as well as telling a story. I really like the sliding and moving panels and clips (i think i will reference it in my presentation projects in the future).

The campaign is brutal and realistic, the opening american campaign with the jap about to slit your throat is ace. It brings the dark grim danger of war into the game. And as well as your first encounter with the banzai japs, you won't forget that. i have lost count of how many time i screw up and got stab by them before i calibrated myself into pressing the v key, which counter stabs them. Brutal realism, brothers. The storyline is also full of suprises and right now i am going to spoil it all, yeah, your 2 sergeants got kill in the end. muahahaahah.

for the russian campaign, whoa. that is grim dark intense. i really like the mission where i can snipe general amsel with a scoped PTRS anti tank rifle, ha, and the sniper duel as well. As the campaign goes on, there are lots of great mission, all executed creatively, like the metro subway fight as well as the storming of reichstag. Shit. there is one objective halfway through the game where you have to actually execute surrendering germans. at that point, i really feels a moral decision that i rarely register when playing games. Can you seriously not kill them in that mission? (i stab them, though) And at the finale of the game, where you plant the soviet banner on top of reichstag, you got shot by a diehard german (great scripted event). First time through, i feel stunned~ literally. The game fades and your screen goes red, with you dropping to the cold concrete, flag flying out of your hands. To think that you come so far... killing so many nazis, and actually failing that game... outrageous~! But yeah, you actually survived and plant the flag, yup, it's a spoiler.

seriously, the gaming scene have been waiting for rare games such as this. Game that actually is overtly dramatic and intense but with lots of realism inside. Because war is grim, brutal and definitely non-romantic. You will feel hollow inside out once you completed the game and that is good. My only complain is that it is kinda short and more mission could be squeeze in, like uhm.. Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Tokyo bombing, Psykov, Warsaw and more.

if you haven't buy this game yet, it would be a good time you do. And if you are smart as me, you will borrow it from your friend. and if you are smart and thinking realistically, you will download it for free. muahahahahahaha

my respect to the developers and all.

PS: oh yeah, anyone know how to increase the game speed in red alert 3? the game is f*cking slow, man.

We need to keep on drawing and move on, if we are stuck in one spot, it will be harder for us to move. Science theory alright, for the layman.
I luv socks. Keep your feet warm and your shoes less smelly. XD

okay, i get straight to the point.

Artists are poor. Fething sad souls.

You can be the greatest artist ever but you can't be the richest man on earth. You can't get rich by drawing.

I remember the day when i was in my first year, on a live drawing trip in Kuala Lumpur.

We sat down by the terrace of an art market, ordering drinks. The market is converted from an old abandoned wet market and now it is selling all kinds of art stuff. Tattoos, ornamental stuffs, paintings of all sorts, photos, everything. Like a mini DA.

canvas and drawing blocks were propped up and we set to work. The task is to learn how to master an architecture perspective. Took 3 hours just to finish it, and Rave didn't even opened his kitbag but he have a drawing ready by 45 minutes and it kicked ass.

It shocked the hell out of us. Then we noticed the signature on the bottom right. Someone call Muhammad Farriz.

"Fuck, it wasn't you! Wasn't your work, damn..."

"I know" Rave took out an eraser and started erasing the signature.

"Artist will never gets appreciated. Come on, this is the 21st century, nobody plays fair. Plus, if you get the money, lots of dudes is willing to draw for you." he added.

We shook our heads in disbelieve.

"Work smart, not work hard" he said for the last time and went to submit his 'work'.

as if it explained everthing.

But it does.

Nobody play fair now, not in the 21st century. There is a shitload of cunning bastard outthere to get an opportunity on you if you give them the chance. A mistake is all it takes for them to take credit over all your hard works. Happens all the time.

if we don't have the charisma to fight back, or the guts or the power. Well, art market is where we are. Waiting there, slapping away the persistent flies, waiting for some art students to come by and hire us to do their homework.

This is a sick world.

and it is fething true.

Just some artist tale in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You guys seen this sort of stuff too? i would like to hear it. ^^

Inspired by a deviation done by Mako, i have decided that this morning i will mainly talking about ghosts! muahahahah! oh hell, not Gaunt's Ghosts, but real ghosty spirits!!!

You see, nearly every culture on earth have a bit or two on the subject of underworld extraordinaire. The Chinese believe that ghost is the spirit of the departed who had not gone to hell because they have something that they so dearly wished to accomplish when they die. So, in short, they are ghosts because they still have one more mission to do. And... mostly it is bad stuff, revenge and all that.

On western... i believe ghost is something called bad luck. Well, some kinda shit you don't wanna be around with too much. XD

hehehe.... i am sure everyone of us have an adventure or misadventure on meeting our local ghosts. Well, i have one.

I remember i was 15, on a high school cadet trip in a neighboring school. It is holiday for them girls students and the school is pretty much deserted. So on the first night, the seniors in charge decided to spook us junior up, playing ghosts and ouija board and shit. But hey, we saw that coming and we are not easily intimidated. They were disappointed and all that but on the second night, shit happens. They try to be more aggressive on the second night, trying to scared us by having us group into a team and then to retrieve an item taken from our backpack hidden in a dark female toilet. Fuck, that toilet is haunted i tell ya. Seriously.

My group is 3 person, and Dennis Chia told us that he can't find his Gameboy. So, we presume some asshole senior must have taken it. Then, one of the senior came outta the dark and joined us in the "game" of finding Dennis console. He was giving some tips and all that but it makes the finding all the harder. When we came to the toilet, we can sense this kinda chilly spooky air around us, like something was freezing the temperature around us. Gilbert was freaking out, Dennis was determine to find his stuff and he is pissed, Ben is kinda disturbed and me? I think i told myself that all that happen is my imagination or something like that... The senior, well, he was smug. But Ben (he is a true devoted Buddhist and he know all the stuff about ghost) told me that we are FUBAR'd coz out number is 4 person and the number 4 is badluck in chinese believe.

5 minutes of nothingness in the toilet was followed by 3 seconds of "AHHHHH!!"

Some kinda scream.

I can't see much in the gloom but i saw my reflection on a nearby mirror. It turned white and foggy, like someone was breathing on it. Then... i saw the girl behind me.

I studied in a all-boys high-school and all the girls in the school we are camping had gone back for holiday. So, who or what the fuck is the person behind me?!!?

I am scared. Shit, i am. I ran out first. I am no hero, i am still ashamed of myself. But when i got outside, there is this strong wind and chilly voice all around and i was like "hey guys, anytime now!!! let's get the fuk outta here!!"

Dennis came out 1 minutes after me. "Scott! Scott! I found it! I found it!!!"

Then came Gilbert, he was shaking and his shoes are wet, no doubt he stepped into the john. XD

Last came Ben, i think was he was crazy.

The senior did not came out.

We gotta do something you know, most likely the ghosty girl had taken him or you know... rape him or whatever. XD so we ran to the other seniors and told them the stuff that happen.

It was 50 minutes passed until they were convinced and we found the unlucky senior sitting on the toilet floor, a hand pointing into the unknown blackness and he was muttering something scary and all that. And he is bleeding out of his eyes.

Damn.

the night is over soon and he was sent to hospital. But what happen that night followed him till this day. He can't speak much, like he have extreme difficulty in doing it and sometimes he will just point into the dark and scream and scream until somebody knock him unconscious.

Well seriously, that is real. There is no such thing like blood coming outta the walls, long hair falling down and all that like in Ju-On or some Korean horror. If it was, it will be unreal. And because the encounter was so almost ordinary, it scared me even now.

well guys? Did you have such stuff happened to you? I would like to hear it ^^

A year have passed since the last time i joined DA. It was somewhere on august 2007, so i guess it is about a year now.

Actually, i didn't quite introduce myself, well, not that i have to, since this is not facebook or friendster. XD

but hey, since that now a year have passed and i began to grew sorta warmed toward you guys i guessed i share a bit about me.

in synopsis, i am a wretch who owns some pencil and a drawing book, nothing more. i have no skill, no talent whatsoever. I self taught and i made a mount olympus of mistakes here and there but i... sorta improve slowly i guess.

i don't consider myself being an artist at all, since imma sucks. just one that draw stupid stuff to amuse himself. Ahem... well, the reason i joined DA is because i am leo. well, those who are in leo horoscope are sorta braggers and attention seekers. Well, i sorta gets too cocky of my silly drawings sometime last year i guess, so i decided to join DA.

At first, I was humbled by the amount of serious work posted there by successful others. And i am greedy at the moment, i posted little and enjoy myself a lot by taking all sorts of art. Imma greedy! i post lots of comment and i fav a lot. But now... well, think imma getting cocky now... perhaps too much for my own good. Only great works deserve comment and fav from me... XD (damn)

i dunno... maybe i stupidly see myself as a critic when i wasn't. Well, i just know whether i like it or not.

ok so, my art, is nothing special. Simple stuff, silly content. So, move along...

until i can get myself a WACOM.... my time of kicking ass hasn't started... :muahhahahah:

Finally, i just wanna thank you guys who watch me. College will be starting soon and i will pull the plug soon, but before that i will try to draw a bit more before i retire. ^^

thank you, and goodbye.

bonjour, deviants. ^^ hahah XD

ok... the new "codex" that i am developing for my False Hope Phantoms are entering its beta stage... 60 percent done and i am quite happy. ^^ the world, the background, the nature of their soldiers, the armaments and the tactics and the glories are all listed down, it should go gamma in a week or 3.

i am addicted into creating new armies for the Imperial Guard recently. Maybe i will take a vacation on doing existed armies like the Tanith Ghosts, the Mordians and the... em... Cadians, well... did i draw cadian?

but really... come to think of it. Art is creativity and if i stick like glue into doing stuff that had already been explored over and over by the GW and other authors... i will just be a fan artist. Nothing wrong with that.. just that i don't feel like growing. heh. I need to go out of the hut and explore what lies beyond mountains on the horizon.

I like to created new Guard armies now, notably death world ones due to them being more special and tactical compared to the other "hammers" of the emperor.

Now... the Miral Irregulars, or the Swamp Wraiths, are entering its closure on the alpha stage. I have a rough reference for their appearance and doctrines. Just sharing it with you guys, hope you can join the club and it's fun to design stuff together. ^^

The wraiths are what i would like to call, the "exterminatus" specialists. LOl. They are dark theme to the max, over the top. Even more so than the Death Korps. Well, the Korps are fearless and use their appearance to remind their enemies their mortality, okay... The Miral dudes are soul takers, as simple as eating a burger. Once unleash, anything, civilian or xenos or cultist within their mission parameters are all killed without mercy. A death world clean up squad, no quarters. They came from a methane swamp death world, backwaters and stuff. Wearing rebreathers and medium armour with light lasguns and carbines with underslung flamers attached instead of a bayonet. so... more of a hereticus witch hunter strike force but yet, guardsmen. The mission they are called in will be some large scale engagement akin to attrition war where these specialist infiltrate the battlefield and spread terror and death in a random pattern to disorientate the enemies. An example will be some secessionist hive world who had turned their backs to the Imperium. An insertion of several Miral regiments will be able to soften up the opposition and wrench open an entrance for the rest of the Guard armies to breach in. And these people are soul takers, they don't take prisoners. Forget compassion and humanity, they forget it long ago.

another one is a new concept/idea for a peculiar Guard army: the Lattarii Gundogs. A mobile army consisting of zero infantries. Their tactics are very orkish speed freaks. instead of infantry, they field lots of mobile 4WD buggies, technicals, bikes, salamanders and chimeras. all mobile. It is not a standard Guard army but more of a flanking corps, where they could outrun the enemy and pincer them hard.

well.. i need a drink. and a trip back to doing assignments

I have decided to seriously expand this little death world army of my imagination into something workable and "big" heheh. I need lots of help. There is no problem with illustration actually, but i am really a noob! AHHH! I have much trouble running into Warhammer 40K fluff and all. I need people with experience to help out with me on the background and stats like in a codex. Yea, i might wanna come out with a personal codex of my own regarding the army.

Currently, i have two army in concept stage. The first one is the False Hope Phantoms (which have a lot of progress done) and the second one is the Miral Irregulars (though they have the nickname 'wraiths', but this one is still in alpha).

False Hope Phantoms:

They are descendants of a bunch of colonists from Sameter (this is an existed Hive World which is copyrighted by a author in GW) hive world who had a nasty warp accident and ended up coming out of the empyrean into the helix system of Manix (not copyrighted, this is my imagination). From the orbit, the planets there look real nice. Lush jade green with belts of asteroids like jewelries. There are 4 planets in the system and they settle on the largest and most beautiful of all. A great oval jade green planet with streaks of blue clouds.

But! When they actually landed on the planet they found out that they had entered a highly dangerous jungle world. There is no human population, the flora is so thick and sentient that the trees immediately senses threat from the colonists attacked them, there is unnatural climate as the volcano regions surrounding the planet's equator screw up with the seasons and all. They finally decided that they had come to a death world, and named it False Hope. (The planet False Hope is copyrighted of Gav Thrope but i am borrowing just the planet, the nature of the planet and the warp accident itself only, the society and army is my imagination) But because of the warp accident, their colonist ship had been damaged beyond space travel, they are staying. Everyday fighting the flora, the climate and the diseases. All their tech and equipment they gathered from the space ship and handed down from generations to generations since they don't have much ability to reproduce the item.

Until in the early of 40th millennium, an envoy of Adeptus Mechanicus explorator fleet passed by the helix system they received faint signal broad casted from a big planet. When they checked the signal log, they found out that the signal had been going on for 7 generations and went there to investigate. After much trouble they met up with the human survivors, now only population of 600 worldwide. Pretty slim. It entered the databank of Imperium Tactica as a Death World, tithe almost zero.

from that day on, more fleet entered the system to provide the population supplies. But it is still not enough. However, the survivors managed and became aces in survival. They formed a militia regiment within their own planet and they fought with homemade autoguns equipped with silencers and some even are fortunate enough to use ancient lasguns that is actually a family heirloom which belonged to their ancestors back in the first days of colonization. To combat the jungle, they had to become one with them, so they gathered a special moss that could change its color like a chameleon and used that as a natural camo. It is actually a parasite and the humans are the hosts. They called themselves the phantoms, for they could strike within the shadows and kill.

Soon there are other merchant fleet which passed by the system and it is possible that they could get the hell out of their planet. Some did, mostly the militias, and became freelance soldiers and mercenaries in the segmentum. And from here their prowess and superior cunning in known by people from the upper echelons of the Guard. A review of their planet came out with a report telling the Guard generals that False Hope produce excellent jungle troops who used cunning more than bravery, much to the difference of their Catachan cousin. Serious threats coming from the eastern fringe as well as several tyrannid hive fleets require regiments who is skilled in fighting in rough terrains and hit-and-run tactics. Since there is not much guards in the Eastern fringe, the traditional tactic of grinding down the enemy could not be used.

False Hope is visited by Imperial Guard officers and a founding is decided. 2 regiments for starter to evaluate their actual value in real combat. The first, False Hope Phantom I, is sent to act as special auxiliary along the main force to intercept Hive Fleet Kraken. The second, False Hope Phantom II, is sent prior to the end of the Damocle Crusade to secretly slow down the Tau advance while the other guard regiment evacuate.

After 10 years, their value is again evaluated. The Phantom I had fare little good against the superior tyrannid monsters...

Death World, in Warhammer 40k lore (i hope i am accurate here) is some hellhole planet that is very unsuitable for basic human survival in the segmentum. Of course, humans can colonize the planet but they only lives in small settlement as the nature is always their predator not their prey. The most famous of them is Catachan, with their hardy bands of Rambo-like jungle fighters.
But then, something tells me that they are not the ONLY death world folks around. There are also other hellholes like False Hope (mentioned in The Last Chancer by Gav Thrope), Luther Mclntyre (a polar desert), Miral (methane swamps, now this is really some shit to live in) and Canak to name a few.
I know that a lot of folks design their own specialize death world armies and i wanna try to sketch and design a special one too. I love False Hope, so i am gonna do their army (on paper... heheh).
So actually, they are gonna have their elements the same from the Catachan (coz death world korps is all about survival in the Green, trapping, tracking, knife combat, sniping and camouflage) but their appearance took a real world equivalent of the Viet Cong back in the 60's. Not entirely... squads of dirty men in black pajamas... they could also have uniforms like the NVA (coz the Catachan really looks like the Marines and the ARVN and the Columbian guerilla all mixed up)
so what do you guys think about new death world armies? I would really like to see a design on said... polar desert armies from Luther Mclntyre (must breed some tough no-nonsense, STFU-you-noob specialists clad in extreme tan) or the mentioned methane swamps guys (scary buggers in rebreathers and bio-hazard suits)
one more question! Does the Savlar chem-dogs considered as death world army? Their homeworld death toll really looks like one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE: Damn! I just got these ideas after i had a good nap! Tell me what you think. ^^" XD

False Hope Phantoms: This is the aforementioned death world korp i wanna design based on the Vietcong. Ok, False Hope is a serious jungle shit. The first colonials being there crash landed on the planet because of engine malfunction. And from orbit, the planet looks really nice, lush jade green with streaks of blue clouds. But down in the Green it is all nightmare. Hence, the name False Hope. Many people there died in the very first few months of colonization due to jungle terror and disease and lost of hope. There is no vox contact or astropath to the outside world, and the jungle is out to get them. That's right. The jungle IS out to get them. Jungle is alive, ok, but the local jungle of False Hope is HIGHLY sentient! I mean, the trees and roots crawl and move with tendrils like the Tanith nalwood (though, bless be, the Tanith ones move to seek the sun, not the blood) and if one person stand still in the clearing, he can see the trees moving around hungry for his flesh and bones! And sometimes these trees can mindcontrol humans by poking into their brain with its tendrils (some of these i made up, but others are Gav Thrope's facts in his book The Last Chancer) Other than that, the bacterias and the fauna of False Hope is really fucked up. It is like Catachan +3 f*cking terror. XD The survivors later formed into small settlement where they didn't stay for a long time (since the jungle is out to get them). Becoming nomadic people who excel in survival skills that is highly unmatched.
So, this is where, you know, the next level of Catachan. I am not saying that the survivors of this hellhole made better fighters than the Catachan. What the False Hope guys good in jungle survival they lack in combat prowess. These guys which have this next level thing... they push camouflage to the next level. They harvest the chlorofil of their local Green and made it into paste where they fool the jungle into thinking that they are one of their own. This sort of practice, made them one with the jungle, more than just blending into them. But, they have the mindset of not showing themselves to the enemies and not engaging furiously for fear of choosing a wrong fight where they don't have the ammo or the strategic position to fight effectively. Hench, their title as the Phantoms. In a war, like against the Orks, they will chose to do recon mission on their foes instead of gung-ho fights like the Catachan devils. They are over cautious and over protective over their ammo in case of wasting precious shots, just like the Vietcong ghosts fighting the marines in Laos and Upper Mekong back in the 60's.

Miral Swamp Wraiths: Now this is really something straight out of my dreams. I have a nightmare where i was killing zombies wearing santa's hat in a dark Tesco carpark by using a darn shovel. It smells everything like a damn methane swamp.
ok, crap aside. This methane swamp planet is really interesting. Nearly forming itself i...

Ever feel like.... when you read Traitor General... you are... like playing Half-Life 2 again?
The pace, the sense of fear, the insecurity that somebody is watching you, and that no matter how much ammo you carried, you are NOT immortal.
Damn, Dan Abnett is a good writer. God bless his laptop. heheeh^^
Traitor General is the book that defined the Tanith First to me, and prompted me to start drawing and activating an DA account almost last August. Before that, First and Only is the book that keeps me reading every new books that followed later. The scene in the trench of Fortis Fething Binary... where Gaunt (at the time i don't even know who the hell he is) tell his men to get a life and asks "Do you wanna live forever?" Hell yea, this is rare. That hell of a read is seldom seen in many fictions that i read.
Anyway, back to Gereon. The Tanith Ghosts, overrated so far, that they are meant to be immortals (they came through a lot of Hell and they are still strong) Now that they are in Gereon, nobody is safe. Everyone is about to die. That scene when Landerson back off from the door when hearing the wrong codes "Gereon lives, even though it dies" (put quite a chill in me) blasted off a series of high chase and mindless fleeing. It is like Half life 2! When the Combined kicked down the door to the Resistant's apartment and you ran through roof and stairs....
Nowhere is as scarier than fighting in enemy territory. The Resistant deserve medals.
Right now, i am doing the scene with my trusty mechanical pencil, hope that i don't fuck up. XD heh
oh yea... it is 2000+ pageviews, gotta draw more seriously now

Oh damn!
Time is running clear off me and I am knee-deep in trouble and much shit... (Pardon me for my foulness coz i have a real bad day)
I am splitting myself into 3 parts.
The first is to dedicate myself into my college assignment, some architectural works like the crazy big (1.5 m x 1.3m) scale 1 to 100 model replication of the Jewish Museum in Berlin by Daniel Libeskind. I have done all the details, the landscape and some walls but still there are lots of parts left and the submission week is closing in. Damn! But I have luckily finished the 1 meter long scale 1 to 7000 Mile High Illinois by Frank Lloyd Wright and some furniture design for my design class. XDXDXDXDXD
The second, is to continue sketching more and more stuff my mind can generate than my hands and time can handle. I have got all these crazy ideas to do, like the scenes from Gaunt's Ghosts by Dan Abnett. I wanna do something like Vervunhive urban war in a3 with all the stuff in it and a scene where Gaunt was fighting Asphodel... but time is a sucker. And yet, I want to sketch out some notable Imperial Guard regimental soldiers like the Volpone Blueblood, Jantine Patrician, Mordian Ironguard and even the Harakoni Warhawks.
Third and last... I wanna sleep. Damned be to the time. I am almost a zombie right now if not for the caffeine that I take everyday.
T_T....

Though strange that i am, I love photography even though I don't have a clue what a 6 lens or a shuttle is. haha.. ^^
But thanks to my loyal digital, I usually captured some acceptable photos and I am pleased. Aside from learning architecture in a degree course, I have a knack of sketching too. Well, couldn't say that I am a great sketcher (didn't upload enough works on DA) but when the feeling is there, I can say that I sketch pretty well.

All the photos that I uploaded is taken sometimes earlier before I join up with DA. So... I have a photo list that I am dieing to shoot. I really wish to capture a night view in the middle of a busy city highway, to capture all the lights in a slow shuttle mode. Well, that will be after i get a decent enough camera. T_T

As for sketching, I already have some list or sort in mind. Since I am a fan of Warhammer 40K works (especially the artworks and the fiction) I already plan to do an art on a minor Imperial Guard regiment - the Lattarii Gundogs (mentioned briefly in Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts). That art will most probably show a platoon of the regiment going into combat atop a Chimera and armed with long-barreled autoguns and light stubbers (since they are gundogs, kinda Ork-ky).

But... it is really easier said than done if my ass is glued to the assignment chair. Just hope that I can have enough time for it all.
