Update: I joined a scholarship contest to attend a summit in Florida for the North American Nature Photography Association. Ten people are chosen to go, and I'm one of them!! I'm going in March. Just wanted to share the good news.

It sucked. It's a loooooong and miserable story, but the bottom line is I was stuck indoors the whole trip while it was gorgeous and sunny outside. So I didn't get to see anything. I didn't get to take pictures of anything that screamed San Diego or L.A. Yeah, I was pretty frustrated and pissed. It was a wasted trip.

But anyway, I'm back. Nearly changed my major to Motion Pictures. Yikes. Got midterms next week.

Anyone know of a good site where photographers and models can meet besides model mayhem? A site that's also decent?

Second, anyone of a server that I can use to start my own site/official portfolio online? One that's professional and free or cheap/easy to use?

I just cleaned out my gallery and scrapped a ton of old work (some new). I'm not even done yet! Some of those pieces I was pretty reluctant about because I liked the idea I was going for and simply because I took them ages ago with my old cameras (memories, you know), but I had to be objective. I felt like I was cleaning my room. When I walk in, what would I want to see and what could I afford to stick in a box somewhere? I just had to clear the clutter. Plus it was too painful looking at some of my old photographs - like, what was I thinking?

I've been changing a lot of things in my life lately. Ever since college started and the ex and I became exes, suddenly I've been more proactive and eager to finally materialize the things I've been wanting all along. It's good for me, but at the same time it's kind of sad. Some things I feel like I have to leave behind. Anyone else going through this?

It's been a while since I've updated. Thank you for being patient and still taking the time to comment my work, considering that I haven't had much access to DA.

Sorry it took me so long to comment everyone's work. I had about 3,000 to check. I still don't have my laptop, but the plan is to buy one tomorrow. What sucks about this is that I can't use PSP7 on a mac. I have to use Photoshop, and for some reason I'm not that impressed by it. Maybe it's cause I haven't used it enough?

I've been cleaning out my gallery. I scrapped some pieces a while ago, but since they remained visible in my gallery I had to change the category then scrap each one again (cause DA can be a bitch like that). So if any random works of mine have been popping up in your list (I don't know if that's what happened) - sorry!

In other news, that guy I broke up with and dated again - kaput! No boyfriend. Mel is single, and it's all gravy. I got a raise at my job and I've been asked to train new hires, so it's just peachy. You lose some, you gain some.

I have to take my eyebrow piercing out. My body is rejecting it. Considering I've had 11 failed ear piercing attempts, I kind of knew this would happen. I'm pretty bummed about it.

I came back from Yosemite a few weeks ago. It was gorgeous. A friend invited me to work with him at a camp he's been a counselor at for the past 10 years. I think I might work there next summer. It's about an hour away from Yosemite Valley so it would be just perfect.

I'm going to San Diego and the O.C. on the 4th of October. The O.C. I'm not so stoked about, but at least I get to see family and take pictures. San Diego - I'm really excited about that. I've been wanting to go my whole life just because I've heard so much about it.

Classes start again for me in September. I just wrapped up my first semester (I took it over the summer) at the Academy of Art University in SF. So yeah, I've got a lot of work ahead of me, and that's how it should be. Play hard, work hard.

Since I am now officially a student attending classes at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco for Documentary Photography ( ), I had to buy a Canon.

The school uses Canons, and although a Nikon would've worked, I didn't want any potential technical difficulties when changing lenses or using their equipment.

I'm now broke. I started classes last week. $200 to register - for two classes. Plus books and transportation via train. This whole college thing is REALLY expensive and hectic.

I also need a Mac Pro for my pictures. I already applied for a credit card to get the laptop, so I will be back on DA soon (as soon as my bank account recovers). I have 1,837 deviations to check. I haven't forgotten anyone! I hope no one has forgotten me. x_x I miss DA. I'm going through a withdrawal.

In other news, the boyfriend and I are back together. I'm learning to drive (and it's about time). I'm still working for Trader Joe's and loving it. I'm planning on a possible internship with the San Francisco Chronicle some time next year - maybe even the next. But yeah. Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm still around, that I miss everyone, and that so many big things are happening so I'm so fucking excited! Cheers!

Update: I uploaded some pictures because I managed to use my aunt's computer. I'm not back! I just had to upload a few shots for class, so I figured I might as well upload some new material to my gallery cause I'm tired of most of my old shots. I need to clean up my gallery when I return. But yeah - new camera, new photos! It's great! Everything I've wanted to do, I'm slowly learning and able to do now. Hope you like them!

Anyone know why scraps are still showing up in the gallery?

Not much going on here. Been working at Trader Joe's and taking a Real Estate class. I'll be taking the licensing exam this summer! Went through a break up a week ago, but I'm starting college at the Academy of Art University this summer for Documentary Photography. So that makes up for it. Definitely looking forward to that.

I got my permit. I also got sick, and I've got a sore throat that won't go away. Other than that, not much else is happening on this side of the fence. I am looking forward to buying lingerie with my first paycheck, though. Save 60% every two weeks, spend the rest. I need a car and a camera, after all. I'm thinking of buying a camera online. Should I? Ideas, anyone?

Update: My laptop died. My only access to DA is through a friend's computer or, in this case, during one of the very few instances that my laptop turns on. So far, in two weeks my laptop has managed to work only twice. Hopefully we figure something out and get it repaired soon. Sorry if I haven't been around. I'll be back as soon as we fix this thing.

I am so sorry I haven't been around much. I'm going to check everyone's deviations today (though I don't know if I'll get to all of them yet.) I haven't been ignoring DA. I just haven't been home much.

I got a job at Trader Joe's as a cashier. It's busy, but I'm pretty close to 2 of the people who work there (cause we've been friends for years) and there are a lot of familiar faces. That and the food, management, and environment are just plain awesome. The store's so clean! I strongly recomend Trader Joe's Aloe Chunk Juice and cinnamon sugar pita chips. I've also been seeing someone and taking a real estate class on top of my classes and the newspaper (I'm hoping to get my license in the spring), and I'm learning how to drive. Scary, huh?

So if I'm not around much, I'm sorry. =/ I'm still here! I'll be checking DA, though maybe not as frequently.

I'm looking to get my license this month or next month - definitely before March. I'm saving money for college and maybe my own place. That's just around the corner. I'm kind of dreading summer, though. I'm going to say goodbye to people, and some may be leaving. I know good things will happen this year, but I wish they didn't all have to come in exchange for something else - in exchange for other good things in my life. I'm thankful that I'm going somewhere, but the experience is bittersweet. Oh well. Such is life. I'm reminded of why change can be so frightening.

Hope you're all dandy. Not much is going on here. I finished my Christmas shopping, and I'm finally submitting my application to the Academy of Art University next week. I feel like I'm making such a gamble, but for some reason I can't stop myself. If I were any good at math I'd probably take Economics and Accounting, but my interest comes and goes in those subjects anyway. I guess I'll see what happens next year...

On a really exciting note (for me anyways), we've been getting frost in the morning! It's been 31 degrees Farenheit, and I've been freezing my ass off. If only it would snow. I was delighted, though. I walked outside and saw that all the grass and rooftops were white. ^^ So pretty. I think I'm gonna take pictures tomorrow.

Oh, and get this: in Alabama some sicko raped his mother while she was drunk and confessed to it. Apparently he was trying to get back at her after a fight. Talk about psycho. =X

I tried to check everyone's deviations yesterday, but my computer suddenly decided to screw around for some reason. =/ Beats me.

We were booking a trip to Texas and one to Guatemala, but because of some family issues we're not going anymore. But it's okay, someday I'll wind up in those places anyway. Right now we're thinking of going to Illinois, but because one of my relatives just got surgery done that might not happen either.

So yesterday, while I was walking home, my neighbor's kid came up to me. He's 6 years old with a mohawk and fat cheeks - cute as hell. Awesome, awesome kid and really friendly. He came up to me out of nowhere and told me that he wanted his lip pierced! O.O I was like, "WTF? Why?" And he said, "Cause my girlfriend thinks it's hot."

Sorry I haven't been around DA much. I'll check everybody's deviations every week like usual, I promise. I just wanted to explain why I haven't been online this week. I haven't even been on AIM. x_x Our school newspaper is currently in production, and I only had 5 days (technically 3 because 2 were over the weekend) to gather all my information and write the first drafts for two seperate articles. I completed the second drafts today, but I'm not done with rewrites and fact checks. The editor's going to Japan soon, so until then I'm going to be drowning in essays (like always), articles, and (for this week) SATs. But just so you guys know, for one week every month I'm not going to be around much because I'll be too busy writing articles for every newspaper issue (I spent 6 hours researching and writing one article alone last night). XD So if I disappear completely, I'm not avoiding anyone. I'm just way too busy. =X

But I swear, I'll check everyone's work later this week!

Did anyone here about that forty-something-year-old man who violently raped children in Connecticut? There were video tapes of him with little children, some merely toddlers. There was hard proof that this guy is a cold-blooded rapist, but the judge only sentenced him to suspension. No jail time! Tell me, why do people go to jail for crack but a child rapist only gets suspension? I mean, what are people who are high on marijuana going to do? Stare at you?

I just came back from one last summer break with the family at the Embassy Suites before classes start on Wednesday. I got chlorine in my piercing. I cleaned it, but it hurts. =X

And may I just suggest that everyone check out an episode of House (anyone who hasn't yet)? I am absolutely in love with the show, so I just thought I'd tell everyone to watch it. Update: Check out the new DA. Crazy. Below are just some updates on what you can expect from my gallery in the future.

I just got back from Napa and uploaded the sunflower series. I've got 217 frames worth of vineyards, and about 6 or 7 of those will make it (maybe). I'll upload them some time this week. I also might be going to Virginia in 2 weeks (another maybe), and if I do you can expect to see more pictures from different locations in North America. If that doesn't happen (cause classes will be starting again this month, and I'll be super busy with applications), I will probably be going back to Canada next summer anyway to tour B.C. (that's if I save enough money this year) and to visit the set of Smallville. Plus I can guarantee that I will be going to Texas some time in the near future and possibly (my family and I are still planning this, but I can't say how soon this will happen) Hawaii. Until then, you'll just have to stick to good old shots (portraits, hopefully, and artistic nude) from home. Thanks for being patient!

What is a real estate agent's incentive when she is selling her own home? Simple: to make the best deal possible. Your incentive and the real estate agent's incentive would seem to be nicely aligned.

But as incentives go, commissions are tricky. First of all, a 6 percent real estate commission is typically split between the seller's agent and the buyer's. Each agent then kicks back half of their take to the agency. Which means that only 1.5 percent of the price goes directly to your agent's pocket.

So on the sale of your $300,000 house, her personal take of the $18,000 commission is $4,500. Still not bad, you say. But what if the house was actually worth more than $300,000? What if, with a little more effort and patience and a few newspaper ads, she could have sold it for $310,000? After the commission, that puts an additional $9,400 in your pocket. But the agent's additional share - her personal 1.5 percent of the extra $10,000 - is a mere $150. If you earn $9,400, while she earns $150, maybe your incentives aren't aligned after all (especially since she's the one paying for the ads and doing all the work). Is the agent willing to put out all that extra time, money, and energy just for $150?

There's one way to find out: measure the difference between the sales data for houses that belong to real estate agents themselves and the houses they sold on behalf of clients. Using the data from the sales of $100,000 Chicago homes, and controlling for any number of variables - location, age, and quality of the house, aesthetics, and so on - it turns out that a real estate agent keeps her own home on the market for an average of ten days longer and sells it for an extra 3-plus percent, or $10,000 on a $300,000 house. When she sells her own house, an agent holds out for the best offer; when she sells yours, she pushes you to take the first decent offer that comes along. She wants to make deals and make them fast. Her share of a better offer - $150 - is too puny an incentive to encourage her to do otherwise."

I just came back from work. I worked six hours straight, took a break, and then worked two more hours. The line was out the door for eleven hours straight without a break whatsoever. No shit. It was a huge deal. The managers brought lots of candy and Starbursts in, and the day before we had to prepare all the silverwear, etc. At first I thought, "So we're gonna be busier than usual, no need for all this." But god damn...we needed all the energy we could get. Whenever one of us got a break we'd run over to Target across the street and buy redbulls. I bought a four pack. Jason bought three four packs. Bill bought a pack, too. I had three redbulls. Jason had 6 since he worked 11.5 hours today. The other cashiers and even some servers had about 4 or 5 each. Jake and I snuck Heinekens to the cooks because it was hot as hell today, which is REALLY unusual and inconvenient in San Francisco, and back in the kitchen it was a nightmare. The lights and the steam plus long sleeves...not good. I rang up on register for most of the day. I had no idea we wouldn't see the door all day. At all. Seriously. It was nuts, and two hours into my shift I was practically burnt out. If I hadn't had redbulls I probably wouldn't have made it. It was pretty exhausting.

Today was cute, though. We gave out carnations to the mothers who came in. I stole a couple for my mom and bought her a few things. My family and I went to the beach before my shift. Here's the weird part. Today was supposed to be hellish, but my co-workers and I actually grew a little closer. We kept doing things for other people and just helping each other out. The guys kept adorning me with flowers. XD They wore a couple in their shirts and aprons. It was all really cute. When push comes to shove, you get to see what people are made of, and I love these guys. They almost make my shitty hours worth-it. We were joking around and making the time pass. We just get along.

I probably have homework, but I've been too busy.

Today's been a big day for me. I've been a roller coaster of emotions.

I went to my grandpa's funeral and then to the Immigration Rally in the city. It was insane. I've got tons of pictures, including a few from Stowe Lake, but I've been so busy. I'll upload them slowly but surely. Check them out!

I'd go on a rant about how much I support the rally and how unfounded I think the views of those who hate the protest are, but that's a long rant so let the pictures and comments speak for themselves.

I bought my prom dress. I can't believe it. I was so sure I wouldn't go, and the dress isn't even the color I originally wanted. But there was a sale, and the gown is backless, and I'm a girl. I tried it on and bam - instant love, baby. Pure love at first sight, like in the movies. Bought the darn thing in ten minutes, and now there's a hole in my pocket. XD The price isn't bad at all, but once you count in the limo, the prom bid, the after party, etc. it's pretty ugly. I made my mind up, though. Even if I don't go to prom, the dress is mine. XD Something about it...

It just fits me. You'd think a brown gown wouldn't look good, but I love it. Add a little gold around the eyes and I'm good to go.

In other news, work's a bitch. Good co-workers, but sometimes I just wanna throw the drinks in people's faces and be like, "No, you can't change your drink, you fucking idiot. Make up your mind. I'm here to give you two minutes of my evening, not my whole day. They don't pay me enough for that, so shove the glass up your ass or drink what you asked for." >.> *Daydreams*

School's a bitch, too. SATs are in two weeks. I signed up for next year's school schedule. Algebra 2, Accounting, Advertising, Journalism, Psychology, AP English, and AP Government/Honors Econ. I might take Advanced Bio over the summer. @_@ What a doozy. I'm struggling right now to be completely honest. It's a sickening routine - school, eat, work, sleep. My counselor wanted me to take Advanced Bio instead of Psych, but I'm struggling enough right now as it is. Journalism and AP English are going to require A LOT of writing. And written assignments are one of those things you can't just pull out of your ass in five minutes like I do every day in Geometry (who likes math?) XD. I'm drained. Exhausted. Stressed out. Depleted.

I'm not a math/science person. I'm only taking Accounting because it's pretty basic, and I'll need it for business (I've made up my mind that I'm going to double major in Journalism and Advertising). I felt like I had to pick between looking like an average, well-rounded student and my GPA. Advanced Bio would've brought my grade down, and I decided that I need to choose a specific school that'll suit my needs - not suit myself to whatever college will pick me. I know what I'm good at, and I'll be damned if I let my GPA suffer because I tried to fit in. I'm just not built for extensive math or science. I can do it, yes, but I'm not excellent at it. I've spent about 14 years of my life proving that. I think Advanced Bio would be a waste. If my logic's wrong, someone correct me.

On another note, I will be dying my hair tomorrow. Somehow I find time to go out every once in a blue moon. I've turned down a good handful of bonfires and movies. ;_; I could use a life right about now, but it's all good. I'm happy. ^^

Oh, and I'm legal now. I can't believe it! I want to get a debit card and a tattoo some time this month. "Carpe diem" on my ankle.

I missed the protest! There was a protest here in San Francisco because it's the third anniversary of the war in Iraq. It was huge. The news kept covering it. I wanted to go so badly, but I had to work. ;_;

I won't be a minor anymore. XD And, and...get this. I already scored one, possibly two, artistic nude models, and they're both beautiful. I can't wait. This is something I've been wanting to try for a while now (no perversion intended, honest), especially since I've been feeling so limited with my photography. I need to expand it somehow.

Oh, and get this. x.x I woke up and found a silver strand of hair on my head! ;_; I was shocked. It's probably due to stress, but I felt so old. >.< I threw it away immediately.

I've been working, people know that, so I've been saving money. XD I now have enough money in my account to buy myself a Nikon D70! ^^ However, I won't buy it yet. Not so soon. I decided that I at least have to have a fixed amount of savings for college. So I won't be touching most of what I've saved. As soon as I earn just a little more, though, that's it. XD I'll be making a dream come true.

Update: I got a Canon SD550 for my birthday! XD It's no Nikon, but it's MUCH better than a Kodak EasyShare. I'm so stoked! My stepdad got it for me, and his parents got me James Dean stamps. I nearly cried. ^^'' I also saw Date Movie with my mom. Funny shit. Nasty, but surprisingly amusing. Go see it! And watch out for the guy with the nail gun!

Customers are a pain in the ass. I had a rant about this the other day, but the bottom line is, every single time you "change" your mind or "don't pay attention" costs A LOT. The registers have minds of their own, and if you fuck up the cashier has to go back and void your order. I had a lot of idiotic people at my reg the other day, and the line was out the door for hours. I could have slapped every single one of those bitchy dumbasses, and half of them didn't speak English. -_-'' Moral lesson: let the cashier ask the questions. You just be decisive and pay attention. Don't try to get your order down in one breath. XD Cause honestly, it's a lot of trouble. Be nice to the other cashiers of this world and go about with Melody's words of wisdom in mind.

My manager keeps messing with my schedule. She knows I can only work 4 days a week, and she knows Mondays through Wednesdays are off limits. But she keeps trying to rotate, and it's starting to really bother me. I have a life outside of Sizzler's, however faint, and my mom bitches every time my schedule changes.

So yeah. That's news for you. Oh, and I won a speech contest. Off to win the next level. Take it easy you guys.

Customers are bitches. They can't make up their mind, and even if they don't know what the hell they're ordering it's my fault. I suck it up and keep smiling though. I don't know how I do it. I was the only cashier on Sunday, and I couldn't see the door for hours. x_x I got my first paycheck! After I paid my cell phone bill, invested a few bucks into my account, paid off some of my debt, etc. I wound up with $60. -.-'' It's kind of depressing. I'm going to have to save for a while.

But hey, my co-workers are marvelous. I LOVE them. They're so sweet, if not a little protective. All guys. I was the only girl working the register until my manager hired two other chicks, who are really nice and pretty. We all get along, which makes everything worth-it.

The down side to my week is that I'm horny. =/ It sucks being single on a day like this. Normally I don't mind, but sometimes it wouldn't hurt. XD No worries. I'm managing pretty well, I should think.

So yeah. I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember. Birthday party tomorrow for my cousin! An excuse to go out! Melody has become a drink-serving, register-ringing, side order-giving machine! I swear, I dream of work sometimes and I wake up thinking, "Do you want a baked potato with that?"

I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my god! I got a friggin job at Sizzler's! XD I'm a cashier, and I'll be working from Thursdays through Sundays. I can't believe it! I'm so stunned!

Okay so I asked my friend Jason about Sizzler's cause he works there, and it just so happens that two cashiers got fired that week. So his manager said I could come in at 4 yesterday, and I did - then she had me work at 5. Last night was my first night and goodness it was packed! We couldn't see the door for an hour. It's sooooo hectic, and some customers are rude. -_-'' But my co-workers are so sweet and funny, and I get free drinks, shrimp, and 50% off my meals (I can eat a steak for $4). It's nuts. I really needed the money, and now I have a job. Just like that. After trying and trying, I finally got it. X_X I'm going to be extremely busy from now on, but this means that I can save up for a camera and prom and a million other things I've been planning to save up for. That was my goal this year - to land a job. XD

I got locked out of my apartment over the weekend. LONG story, but it ended with me arguing with the locksmith over credit cards and checks. -.-'' He said he didn't accept credit cards, and I said we probably had cash. Turned out we had checks (I couldn't walk out to confirm with my neighbor's phone), so I mentioned that he only denied credit cards and not checks. More drama after that, but I can't be bothered. x_x

Found out my mom and stepdad are getting a divorce. Blah. All men are a disappointment eventually, or at least 99.9% of them are. I can't hate the guy, though, which blows. Finals this week. I'm really gonna have to buckle down. Might do the spring play if I can afford to do it. "Noises Off". We'll see how that goes.

How many photographs these days are taken for beauty or simplicity, without regard for its classification or the boundaries that come with it? Art is pure and incomparable. It is essentially delightful, partly because it gives individuals full control over what they perceive as creative. Now, however, most photographs have lost their art. The digital world aside, artists are now defined by a mathematical standard without room for anything but black and white, so to say. Artists, naturally, loose a portion of their sense of beauty and subconsciously submit to such limitations. When a photographer takes a picture, what ordinarily crosses his mind is whether or not the frame will become a portrait, a conceptual shot, so on and so forth. Good tone, enough texture? Photography has become, in a word, shallow. It portrays the surface, and often times it's denied if it's too distinct. All the world's extravagance and allure pales in comparison to simplicity and thought. People forget this sometimes. Sure, more people look for something they can relate to in pictures. They like originality, but what are we exposed to? I, myself, have been guilty of trying to squeeze my work into one category. I suppose it's time for a little reform.

Of course, all this is a given. But what are people doing about it?

In the words of Imogene: "One must be able to gain an understanding at short notice and close range of the beauties of character, intellect, and spirit so as to be able to draw out the best qualities and make them show in the outer aspect of the sitter. To do this one must not have a too pronounced notion of what constitutes beauty in the external and, above all, must not worship it. To worship beauty for its own sake is narrow, and one surely cannot derive from it that esthetic pleasure which comes from finding beauty in the commonest things."

I think I might actually live for it. It was so exhausting, though. I was on my feet all day, and I had to get up far too early in the morning for a weekend. >.< But it's all good. I'm so proud of my mom. This is her passion. We did very well, especially considering this was our first time. A lot of people recomended other craft fairs to us, so we're looking into those. The funny thing is, old people have money but no interest in spending so much cash. And young people just want to spend and spend, but they usually have nothing to spend with. Regardless, we sold to all kinds of people...men, the young, the old, and kids. XD Kids are good customers. They receive flattering so openly. Thank God California has such an appreciation for art.

As for my photography, it was a blast. I sold a couple of prints and I had the pleasure of being called a protégé. Nyaha. A lot of other photographers checked out my work and asked to come to my next art shows. We exchanged business cards. One of them recomended participating in the Marin County Fair, which I plan to look into. I really love what I do, so I want to experience as much as I can. No exposure is too humble. It's so worth-it. I was surprised by the feedback. People really like my work, especially since it's varied. And that means a lot to me because I do my best to stick to my own thing. Now I know it actually works. I'm shocked, but I'm motivated more than anything. I had a few qualms about taking photography seriously before. Now I think I'm starting to go full speed ahead.

Good weekend. Really good weekend. It's especially rewarding because my mom and I had to deal with a lot of setbacks and work hard to get here. I love feeling accomplished. It was a real learning experience, and I met the most interesting and diverse people in one fair alone. I can't wait to do more, but that won't be happening until next year. XD We threw ourselves into this thing. Now it's time to focus on school and work, strike some sort of a balance, recharge our batteries, then start fresh.

Business is good. Art is good. It's the beauty of life, baby. Learn and explore as much as you can.

How dare he compare this war to our other wars? >.< It's not even ours - it's his! Big business, people. Money! >.< What I really don't understand is why people still buy into his bullshit. Americans are driven into such a deep pit thanks in large part to that bastard. The damages could have been reduced. Since when is a president showered with credit for pronouncing his words correctly, for sobbing outloud?

Heroes of yesterday...Ha. Their work isn't done. They're still alive. They're still alive, damnit! Everything about him drives me nuts.

The Craft Fair's in two weeks. I made 36 necklaces in one day. Normally I only finish 7 cause I have to make designs, but my mom and I still have shipping labels and business cards and inventory and all this stuff to plan, so now we've settled on a few designs and are loading up on stock. I'm getting really excited. It's starting to hit me how serious this business is. Kinko's been a pain in the ass, but other than that the jewelry thing is carrying along well. I put my marketing skills to the test again. I can't get rusty before the big weekend. I've discovered one thing I'm good at.

After the Craft Fair my mom and I are going to drive around California so I can take pictures of scenery. I'm planning about two or three more art shows after New Year's (I can't believe it's Novemember already). I need to start somewhere and gain experience and exposure. The public prefers scenic photography - it's all they'll pay for these days, unless I come up with an amazing picture that's unique to them. I've got no time for big projects like that, so I have to settle for what the masses normally purchase just so I can save money. It's a business. I have to think like the buyer, not like the photographer.

So yeah, I'm really excited. I didn't know I had a thing for business and advertisement in me. I love working at it cause I know I'll enjoy success even more. I've got three weeks until my musical's opening night and two weeks until the fair. Time's a luxury these days, but the funny thing is...I wouldn't have it any other way at the moment.

I've got PSATs tomorrow morning. I've established that Thursday's my TV night. Night Stalker, Smallville, and Everwood are on. Night Stalker has my perfect job - CSI type of snooping around, only with Journalism. I'd love to get paid to do that.

Um, my friends and I snuck around while ditching a rally today. Fun stuff, nearly got suspended.

Not much is up. I'm trying to save money for Christmas. I think I might be the only person who isn't going to be dressed up for Halloween. x.x I wanted to go Castro, but I might just end up chillin with Sara for a while at her house. Not too many parties for underage kids.

There are all these pictures and novels I want to get out - all these ideas I want to materialize, but I don't know how. I have a deadline for some poetry thing, and I just missed a deadline for a club application. x.x I feel like I ought to glue my head on.

I've been looking at Brooks Institute, and for a while I actually considered going there. But since I've taken photo class and gotten a little more competitive and basic with photography, I realized that I could never seriously study or work with it. Photography's too personal to be technical. Business wouldn't be standard. I also just recently made up my mind about what I want to do in college. I was kind of wishy-washy about it, but now I'm definitely set on journalism with some advertising and photography on the side. I ignored writing for a while, but it's still around. I didn't realize until now how badly I want to take advantage.

This thing's going around DA like fire. >.> I got tagged twice.

But it's all good. I got my writer's muse back, but I can't decide on what to write. Go figure. Next week (hopefully) I will be hanging out with Sara, Chris, Jakob, and Rachel to take pictures. Two of them are blonde - yay! Finally. I've only one blonde, I believe, in my gallery so far. Sara and Chris are together, so look forward to intimate pictures in the near future...
