Its sad though that he put too much emphasis on just cropping and smudging and TRACING... hello? that's not even digital art in itself... Digital Art is really broad, it would have been great if he just told on national TV that he used WACOM tablet to produce his artworks... I'm a bit affected by his delivery coz I also have customers who don't know anything about digital painting and they hear about it from someone incompetent to explain the craft...

Digital Painting is still young and i really don't wish to see it fall just before it rises... One of the many branches of this craft is Digital Matte Painting, i've seen the techniques, of course for an artist its disappointing at first, but if you really open your eyes, this is actually the answer to our overly demanding work schedules where everything needs to be FAST! I've seen great artist exploring this possibilities, at first look, it looks like just photo-editing and manipulation, but if you really have a good eye, you'll know the difference about real technique and expertise over a fraud... I happen to give due respect to artists who make them, coz i know its hard how much hard work goes with every piece and besides its still a product of his imagination... and this is where the magic begins, coz it starts to create an illusion of something real... and your eyes start to deceive you, you know a part of it is a painting but you won't recognize the real elements anymore... coz the drawing or painting really dominates the pieces not the photo elements...

I hope he can read this, and i hope that person concerned will be more responsible in delivering the details... Its a big joke for those who believe they can make big money from art without really putting their heart into it... This is serious, coz art for me is a "calling" and a "commitment" not just a milking cow...

If this continues, digital painting will compose of some groups who are incompetent "wanna-be-digital-artists"... and that's really sad to see...

regarding my WIP, i need to postpone that for a while, im reviewing the print section of DA and its best if i should subscribe first before i submit anything for print so i could take advantage of all its features... its really nice i wonder why i never took that option before so from this day forward, i'll have to be more careful about the deviations im going to submit to make it available for print... since i can't make any fanarts to sell i'd rather go with my own artworks... Cool!!! that's really good... i took it for granted coz im not really reading all the terms and now that i did, i become more hooked to DA... i was opting to make my own website at first, i still do, but i could also defer that at the moment coz DA is getting better... although there are certain products i wish to sell and its not going to fit in here... coz its at most crafts and not arts... anyway, i'll be posting soon... i have matters to attend to at the moment... and making new and original artwoks are more tedious... sit back and relax... i'll be back soon

is there a way to see the outcome of a hardcopy before printing... i may choose CMYK but that will only show me the colors that will show on print right? i don't know what to do... i can't waste the ink and its not safe too to make the painting so light... coz its easier to fix a dark painting than a light painting... please a little enlightment will do...

my hands are full, i can't find time to draw... but im learning new stuff like digital painting... and its REALLY COOL!!! gosh, who would have thought it would be this good... may i just ask which version of photoshop is better for digital painting? i've heard that adobe 4 works faster when it comes to this... i've seen the interface and its not that too far from the environment of CS2 which i had but its really slow when working at 300dpi... just mere scanning would take minutes... its really fun... id been working on photoshop for years now and i keep ignoring some of the tools which i thought was useless (or im just ignorant) but now i find it really interesting and powerful... all the smudgin and burning and air brushing... ahhhhh i can't even describe it... i'll be back very soon... WATCH OUT!!!

it takes weeks to learn one and months to master them... now they have a new one... i don't know, i really haven't read yet about the recent developments...

i'll be subscribing very soon before the year closes and im looking for deviant contributors who has excellent flower deviations, anything nature like for my future flash projects... of course, given that i'll give them a link back to their site on my website when i launch it... credits in the ABOUT US section on my site etc. etc... (site is currently work-in-progress) i'm still working on the SEO side of it... the shopping cart will be a bit late... so i'll probably use another website to do the job at the moment so i can sell prints...

i have current projects on CANVAS... i'll go with acrylic... and murals... web design and development and other arts and crafts... it's taking time coz im the only one developing my site... and hopefully offer the service to interested deviants here... i love all of you...

i bought 10 sqm of canvas, im still trying to look for a cheaper wood... i might use paint, but i need some advice regarding the disadvantage of using paint on canvas... although ive seen people using charcoal, i just can't help wondering if paints can endure wear and tear... what's the disadvantage of using elastomeric paint on canvas and which is an effective primer? the ones we use on cement or wood? i don't know, i just need guidance, so hard work will not be compromised... im still testing the water in here... help please...

first, i wish you all a blessed day today...

IM GETTING MARRIED on January so im busy with all the wedding preparations... i can't seem to find time to draw these days... but i would really like to draw Princess Diana before the end of the month... i really love her angelic face... all her deeds are inspiring...

im looking for an Oprah wallpaper... i've never drawn a black portrait before... so id be willing to give it a try... ill be off from time to time to give way for my wedding preparations... i still have to attend a number of seminars and submit documents for legal and church matters... but i promise ill be back too...

wish me luck, my fiance and i are looking forward to purchase a land within 2 months where we'll build our home and start a new family... ill see you all when i see you...

i've seen TRANSFORMERS but it stressed me out coz of an endless fight... i failed to see DIE HARD 4.0 but ill just watch out for the DVD...

i suggest you come and see Evan Almighty... if you liked Bruce Almighty you'll definitely like that one too... its funny and the twist at the end is really good... its unexpected...

My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree.. If everyone can remember something this simple, wecould save some folks. Seriously.. Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said
the trick was getting a stroke recognised, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNISING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognise the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a
bystander can recognise a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE .
T * Ask the person to TALK to SPEAK A SIMPLE
SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. . . It is sunny out today).
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is this:
Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, go to the hospital immediately!! and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

now, some artists also told me to work on my creativity more than my skills... so they've asked me to produce original pieces drawn from life... i have sketches and doodles drawn from life and i really don't post them on DA... coz that will consume some space so i've decided to post them on scraps very soon... although i can't help thinking how could that be different from paper references... all works of art are products of things that already exist... if someone will ask me to draw landscapes or figures from life i don't think it's creativity coz God already made them to exist and artist will just copy portions that are beautiful to them... i think creativity springs from imagination... so sci/fi characters, landscapes and abstracts will do most of the trick... not the ones drawn from life... am i making any sense here? these are just points i believe people should consider... art is not made to please anyone... it's made for mere expression of feelings or emotions... no one really has to prove anything to anyone... well, not unless you're a fraud... ]]> ~jovee friendster users you can add me... http://jovee.deviantart.com/journal/9834929/ http://jovee.deviantart.com/journal/9834929/ Thu, 24 Aug 2006 04:07:42 PDT

I was sad with regards to one scene when Clarks standing before the coffin of his father and Lana held his hand but then left afterwards thats too painful, I saw Chloes face having the same sentiment that I feel towards the story arrg!!! Can someone tell me whats going to happen next please please please lol

Well if I was there putting myself into Lana shoes: I would rather die knowing the truth than living with lies Clark should have chosen to do the same thing and just let things happen than losing two people at the same time, Lanas love and his father well of course, I could also understand how he feels and theres no way Im going to put into words how much pain is in his heart
