        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ I bought a light box for myself a couple of weeks ago because I noticed the ink work on my markered pages is utter BALLS.  See, I used to draw the image in really light pencils so they could be erased later.  However, since I couldn't see my own pencil work, this yielded some royally shitty ink work.<br /><br />And then came the lightbox.<br /><br />I did my latest deviation (domo-kun) by doing a rough pencil page and lightbox inking it.  IT'S AMAZING.  The difference is like night and day.  Guys, if you do ink work or marker work, save your ducats and get a lightbox.  For reals.  I tell you because I love you. ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ So I stripped down the Marsh Rocket site to practically nothing but the comic and the store.  This is in preparation for Wondercon coming up.  Marsh Rocket is limping out the door and I wanted a very clean, streamlined site to usher him to the great beyond.  Wondercon will be Marsh Rocket's last real hurrah.  I will be in liquidation mode.  All MR merchandise will be on sale (especially towards the end of the con).  It's time to close the book on MR.<br /><br />That said, when one door closes, another opens.  That is, Valkyrie Squadron's website proper will open for updates 1-2 weeks after Wondercon and for that, I need a FLATTER.<br /><br />Again for emphasis I ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ bad jules, good pages<br /><br />I'm a bad person.  I was late with my comic pages by a day.  Probably two days considering I usually begin the week's updates on Tuesday, not Thursday.  So, yeah, bad Jules.<br /><br />On the other hand, one of the pages required a little more time than planned and I didn't want to turn out crap in lieu of making an otherwise self-imposed deadline.  I'm beginning to realize that I'm not putting enough effort in keeping my inks/colors clean and I have been trying to address these issues as of late.<br /><br />I've learned a few lessons from this incident.<br /><br />1.  Never eat a Steak 'n Shake Steakburger on a night I have to work on comic pages.  ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Ladies and gentlemen, I have discovered the beauty and the joy that is non-photo blue pencils for the very first time and I am here to tell you that if you're an artist who does any inking of any kind, I highly recommend this.<br /><br />For those who don't know, non-photo blue pencils is a type of pencil with a blue lead that does not appear when you scan or photocopy it.  The beauty of a non-photo blue is that you can lay down the baselines for your pencilling and then fill in the rest with regular pencils.  My pencils are a bajillion times cleaner and more crisp because of these puppies!<br /><br />Granted, they require a lot of effort and energy to get an im ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ A few weeks ago I had reported that I had bought myself as a birthday gift a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.  Up until then I had used a Wacom graphire 3.  It wasn't a bad tablet but it was definitely no-frills compared to the Intuos.  While I loved my purchase, I knew that there might come a time in the next 30 days where I might have to take the thing back because I ultimately couldn't afford it.<br /><br />Well, boys and girls my worst fears are realized.  I got really, really short on cash at the worst possible time and I've had to return my Intuos 3 to get my money back.  God, it sucked to have to give it up, but it was either that or borrow the money from ]]></media:text>
