I'm seriously tempted to buy a scanner, even though I'm genetically engineered to be cheap. A little feng shui in my room and i could find a spot for it (though it will involve moving a bookshelf heavily loaded with books... ack lazy gene kicking in!). I just enjoy drawing directly on paper more than on the computer (though still love photoshop for painting and whatnot), plus i draw mostly during lunch at work and its hard lugging my entire computer over there. Well, a thought for another day. Right now delicious sleep comes a callin, and my cold is makin me answer.

Whats that? Why haven't I been submitting anything to dA? Well I suppose thats a good question, even if I point out my erratic posting habits since I joined. Skirting the emo related life issues, and the fact that I sink a lot of my free time into Rock Band marathons, the majority of my recent drawing has been on... -gasp-... actual paper! And while my apartment boasts drafty windows and a kitchen designed for an anorexic dwarf, it is lacking in a scanner. I've poked around in photoshop, but everything I make just gets siderailed by aforementioned emo stuff and I wind up just thinking its shit and move on to something else. Go me!

Anyhoo, to affirm that I am sorta alive as a creative person who hasn't had their soul crushed by a shitty job and pointless life (ROFLOL! oh, i needed that), I'll let you in on a little project me and my brother-in-law are gonna be working on: A chil'uns book! Neat, huh? ....chil'un = children... ya, there you go! I've already started some rough work on the sucker, and maybe I can get to a scanner and email myself some pieces I can throw up here.

So never fear, the procrastinator might possibly be here if he gets around to it! Yeah!

As a side note, not checking dA in a while results in 3 days of going through out of date journals and a fuckton of awesome pics.

Hey i'm not crazy, im just delightfully individual.

Anyhoo, I went through it all piece by piece, organizing the important stuff and recycling all the stuff i learned in school (i'm sure my brain still contains that shite somewhere...). I ended up keeping only about a boxful of stuff (dumped the really really old pictures that hurt my eyes, also all the comics which... i really don't know why i was keeping, just a compulsion... hay, not crazy! Fsk you!), now carefully organized so i can find it all if i need to.

The point of this obviously fascinating and engrossing story is that I just gotta say, I'm incredibly jealous of my younger self. He was so fsking creative and passionate about drawing, just drawing and drawing random shit and OCs forever and ever, writing short stories and plans for books and comics and comic strips... what the fuck?! Why aren't I like that? Why don't I spend hours every day just drawing and writing? Instead I pump my off time into watching TV and playing video games, or sometimes just sitting on the internet.

Is it okay to be envious of yourself? I mean, if I ever met my younger self, I'd slap him upside the head a few times and all, but he wasn't all bad... maybe I can learn a few things from that little bugger.

I rented a bunch of games to test out (armoured core 4 being one of them, but im gonna buy it cause awesome)... whatever you do, do not play Gundam Crossfire, it sucked bulls. Though the one vs. game we played was funny, as we blew each others' arms and heads off, except for my friend who still had the arm with the laser sword which he used to slaughter me. But the controls suck, the graphics suck, and its Gundam. 'Nuff said.

Genji II is alright, though it has preset camera angles which always irritates me. Its nice freeing up the right analog stick to do rolls, but you could easily use R3 to toggle between rolling and camera control. Graphics are beautiful, and fighting with the main character is fun (two katanas, anyone?), though other characters so far are sluggish and boring in comparison, and half the time so far is spent forced to play with them. I say 'so far' several times cause I haven't unlocked the 4th character yet, and don't think i've gotten very far in it so I can't 100% guaruntee the gameplay will stay the same.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is pretty good too, and as far as I know the only multiplayer game you're gonna get for the 3 (except for that XMen game, which is fun, but I can't find it anywhere).

I bought Virtua Fighter 5 right off the bat, but thats because I got addicted to #4. I haven't really tried it that much, cause I wanna go through the temp games I have, but I assume its awesome.

Alright, thats all for now, go about your business. Still struggling to find time to draw with the full-time job that exhausts me, but I've got lots of ideas in me head, just need to pry them out. ...On a side note, I dare you to hold a cold beer in one hand, a box of cookies in the other, and not giggle with glee.

A'ight, so I'm having trouble finding some drawing motivation, so I've come up with a plan. It involves you! Fun!

I call it The Great Fantastic Wonderful But Terrifying Art Challenge!! (Two whole exclamation marks, you see.)

Heres how this bad boy or girl (depending on the ultrasound) works; first, you Challenge me to draw something (just send me a note). It can be a vague concept or idea (ie: draw light!), or something specific (ie: draw a gator fighting a lion in the sewer! That'll teach ppl to stop flushing their pets!). The difficulty of the Challenge will fill me with spite while I perform the dastardly deed you set upon me, and then, once finished, not only do I go, "Ha! I did it sucka!," but I have my Revenge, as I Challenge YOU right back! I mention difficultly, cause the revenge Challenge will be of a similar stature.

Mayhaps you are more awesome than me, and fear no Revenge... do you dare to Challenge me? DOO YOU?!? ...Sorry, I got a little excited there.

So first of all, happy full moon! Okay, I'm jumping the gun by 21 hours, but maybe you won't read this for 21 hours, ever think of that?

Anyways, haven't been workin on any serious drawings of late... or rather, haven't been able to complete any serious drawings. I think I strained a figure muscle in my brain, so I'm trying to rehabilitate it. Hopefully I can get something up soon, for the 6 of you who might care.

Speaking of drawing, I get my portfolio back today

and then I either celebrate my future or sit and brood while I rethink my life goals... fun times. I'm trying to put myself into a mental setting where I don't care, my fate lies where it lies, that sorta stuff. But I'll occasionally find myself hoping for the better of the two choices (the not having to brood one), setting myself up for even greater wooting or /wristing. I guess I need to work on my zen.

1. A portfolio. The class is pretty small, and each year they get "well over a hundred applicants", so its sort of a competition to see who needs the smallest amount of teaching... um, yeah. Well, w/e, I can deal with that. Except for one stipulation... the portfolio CANNOT HAVE ANY FANTASY OR "COMIC" IMAGERY IN IT! Blah! Guess what I spend most of my time drawing, when I get around my procrastinating? Yeah... they say its because one needs to differentiate between "Fine Art" and commercial forms of art. Which I think is a huge load, but its their school and I want a BFA degree

2. I also need a big form doo-hicky that was supposed to have arrived via mail two weeks ago. Guess what hasn't arrived? And the portfolio is due on FRIDAY!

So I have to either have faith that a series of people did their jobs and something will get to me, or organize something with the school and somehow get my butt down into Edmonton. I fear a journey to the public transit is in order, unless I can beg for a ride from a friend or family.

To top all this off, my portfolio is grossly unfinished, and lacking a certain je ne sais quoi that will take me over the "waitlist in case someone gets hit by a bus" hurdle into the 'winners' category. But whenever I sit down to try to work on it, I just get bogged down by the fact that what I'm drawing is boring as hell, and my fingers wander over to the keyboard and I start surfing the web. Then I swear to forgo any web-based distractions, and so I find myself watching tv. Then I swear to forgo any tv-based distractions, and so I sit trying to focus on something completely mundane and my brain just goes nuts with random stray thoughts that are even more distracting than what I'm avoiding! So THEN I go "meh, I'll just sneak a peek on dA" or "I'll just post a quick message on this forum"... something along those lines... it winds up sucking down an hour, and I just repeat the process, taking one step closer to crapville each time.

We kick ass throughout the zone, taking down all the mobs in a tight group with the efficiency of a highly organized military unit. We mow through the demons and eyes, take down the NMs with usually only about one paladin kicking the bucket (accidents do happen), slaughter the dragons, and beat the snot outta Ying and Yang (yes, the mob's name is "Ying", don't complain to me). All this is with only about half the max amount of people allowed in the zone, which I don't know is average or awesome, but it is what it is.

Now, we've only faced the Dynamis Lord twice (it took a few attempts for our puller to figure out the best way to proceed, and we've just been getting smoother and smoother). The first attempt, things didn't quite go as well as we hoped. Only having two rdm/drks along was a major problem. Them getting sleepga'd was another (drink poison pots when facing that dude!). Being in the range of AOE's at all was a third. Needless to say, we wiped pretty harshly.

The second attempt, we were pretty optimistic. We had double the rdm/drks, we tweaked our strategy slightly, everyone drank some sleep potions and built up their tp. Everyone had their 2hrs saved for just this moment. We organized every moment that was to follow. We were ready for his ass... here is a log of what happened:

We all stand around for 10 minutes to power up and build dramatic tension.
Thf uses Perfect Dodge, and pulls DL.
Thf runs around in a circle by melees praying for life.
Brd uses Soul Voice and gives blms Int out the wazoo.
Pld 1 calls out the DL and uses Invincible.
Rdm 1 uses Chainspell, and delivers multiple Stuns unto the DL.
Blms and melees unload all their 2hrs and a world of pain.
Pld 2 throws out Invincible.
Rdm 2 unleashes Chainspell + Stun.
DL summons his weakened pets.
Pld 3 chucks out Invincible.
Rdm 3...
...
...
DL, Ying, and Yang begin raping the melee and paladins.
Pld 4 uses Invincible.
Rdm 3....
...
...
DL, Ying, and Yang, angry at the blms, walk over to the mages and unleash multiple aoe's.
Rdm 4 is dead.
Rdm 3...
...
...has lost his connection.
DL finishes raping us, and goes back home at 40% life, mocking our pathetic efforts.
We all die a little inside.

You're a tricksty one, DL. But we've got your number.

...On a side note, if you fail to kill the DL, don't go Mijin Gakure him as a warp unless you want to mpk the entire linkshell. M'kay thx.

You'd think the best swordsman in Hyrule, the savior of the entire planet, the guy who single-handedly (well... not quite in this game, but usually single-handedly) defeats an entire army of foul beasts would attract some sort of female attention besides some general woots and yays.

Green fleece hoodie, bright green t-shirt that says "Damn right I'm good in bed" in big letters and below it "I can sleep for days" (is true), green flannel pants (cause they're comfy), and two pairs of socks (cause i was chilly earlier).

Ya... I don't remember the details, but it was particularly psychotic and strange... not disturbingly so, it was just wierd, and after i woke up i had an epiphany.

11. When did you last laugh?
Sometime today before my nap, when watching some ranma.

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Oilers posters, and a calendar, and a dartboard, and some stitched/cloth picture of a tree stretching way out to the left with some simple birds flying in the background. And ya, I need to decorate badly >_<

Ummm... clips of fox news on the daily show? Thats pretty wierd.

14. What do you think of this quiz?
Its an alright quiz as quizes go. I wouldn't jump in front of a bullet for it or anything, but I'd refrain from pushing it into traffic.

15. What is the last film you saw?
I've been watching a lot of tv series lately, but last movie was Over the Hedge. Okay, thats a lie, last one was Kill Bill, but I only put that in to reafirm that I hated everything about that film and was still bitter about paying 25 bucks for half a movie (that sucked ass). And yes on both counts.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
Hmm... well, for starters, 8 copies of every rare magic card, 20 copies of every uncommon magic card, a shitload of dvds and video games, a ps3, xbox360 (just for halo3), a house each for friends and family (nothing fancy, since they still gotta pay bills for it), a house with a huge gymnasium, kitchen, and library with a buttload of books, school, pimped out computers for friends and family (and an upgrade for mine, since its already pretty good), college fund for my niece, a hybrid car, a long trench-coat style leather jacket, a few dozen paintings from artists I like, and my very own tim hortons so i can pull in a million every year. I think that's blown through most of the money.

I've never played ice hockey (come from a soccer family), tho I once played an 8 hour game of floor hockey during a school awake-a-thon.

Have less people in it. By like a lot.
