True story. Mother tigers have nothing on him! We had a tenant come in and (quite politely o_o) abuse the snot out of the property manager. G. (the boss) just comes charging out of his office, points out that T. (the property manager) has apologised profusely for a small mistake 5 times in the space of about 1¹/₂ minutes and that "madam" could remove herself from his office, thank you very much, because his staff is admitting to a mistake, apologising for it, and what more does she want?! Her response was to tell him that if he wanted her out, he would have to call the police, to which he laughed and said OK, because by law he is allowed to evict abusive people - which "madam" definitely fell under - off the premises.

It got quite loud, and some inventive things were said that I've taken note of for later use

but what I really have to say is this: that was the politest abuse session I've ever been priveliged to witness. Seriously. There was no swearing at all. It was better than a courtroom arguement.

And, outside of my imagination, I've never seen ANYONE get so upset at being called "madam" before!!

This is the sort of place I only ever dreamed of working at.

It got released here yesterday so ~Juptile and myself went to see it.

Dude.

Awesome.

Seriously.

OK, I wasn't sold on the whole Uhura/Spock romance. Mostly because honey, that's just not how Spock works. He would never snog anyone in public, much less Uhura in the transporter bay in front of Kirk & Scotty. And I didn't really like Uhura at all.

BUT...

POIDA WAS A ROMULAN!!

OK, so Eric Bana has been in heaps of roles other than Poida (Peter), but still, that's how I see him. Sorry, mate.

I squeed (quietly) with delight when Leonard Nimoy came on screen. A bit dismayed that my First Crush Ever has gotten so old, though.

(I was four, he was Mr Spock {with ZOMG POINTY EARS AWESOME!!} you can't blame me!

)

John Cho as Sulu was awesome (that poor word is being overused, forgive me) - if he wasn't already married with a kid, I'd stalk him and make him love me.

Same goes for Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy.

In fact, I'd love to say a big "THANK YOU~!" to Karl for the way he portrayed Bones. Seriously. Doc McCoy, along with Spock & Sulu, is, was, and always has been in my top three fave Star Trek characters, and he brought him to life so well. His lines had me giggling like crazy.

Another thing that had me laugh (very cruel) and at the same time be horrified was when Sulu and Kirk had fallen off Poida's ... er, Nero's ... drilling platform. Sulu had technically been the only one to fall, and he didn't have a parachute, so Kirk jumped off after him and grabbed him and went "PULL MY CHUTE!" (which is NOT the Federation's version of "pull my finger"

) and the chute couldn't handle their combined weight and made a successful dash for freedom.

Chekov saved them ... gosh, he was a cutie.

I want to adopt him. The character, not the actor.

Didn't like Kirk's actor much. The guy who played his dad, George Kirk, looked so familiar, I couldn't place it ... then it hit me ... he's from Home and Away!

(Or it could be Neighbours, I mix them up all the time...) Anyway, I've seen him in TV Week heaps for some Aussie soap.

But Kirk I didn't like, although, to be fair, that's probably because the character has never appealed to me. Who knows, who cares?

Now, Spock was (as I think most everybody knows) was played by Siler from Heroes (no, I don't know the actor's name, but even if I did, I wouldn't use it). I had some difficulty accepting him as Spock ... unless I couldn't see his mouth.

Don't really get that. From the nose up, I was like "yeah! Spock!" but the mouth threw me.

Anyway, Siler made a pretty good Spock, actually.

I enjoyed it. Made me go "WTH?" when he finally says the trademark "fascinating" ... over a rotating chair.

I was a bit miffed when they offed Amanda, but considering she was played by Winona Ryder, I probably would've found some way to get rid of her, too.

Dwayne Johnson was awesome, but the boy in the film kind've dragged it, plus the lady doctor. The girl alien was pretty good, though, so that was a plus.

We also saw Dragon Ball Evolution. Let me just say this: it failed F.A.I.L.E.D. failed! Written by someone who seems to only have a passing familiarity of the series - especially with Goku. Honestly. The one in charge of Goku's character development needs a good solid kamehameha square in the baby makers, for real and true.

If you're a fan of Toriyama's Dragon Ball series', then do not, I repeat DO NOT see this movie. I've waited for AGES for it to be released, and the letdown was unimaginable.

Having said that, however, I do plan on going to see it again - to take notes so I can rant in (accurate) style about the abysmal FAILURE that is this mockery of the fandom.

So in the past week or so, I've watched 2 new movies: Monsters vs Aliens (last Friday) and Inkheart (last night).

MvA was awesome. Srsly. The President just continuously cracked me up. I led everyone in the cinema in a round of applause after he "greeted" the alien probe, which sounds a whole lot more impressive than it actually is, as it was just me and ~Juptile there.

Inkheart was OK. I swear I've seen Paul Bettany in something else, but I can't for the life of me think what! Dustfinger was definitely my favourite character in the movie, although Aunt Elinor (Helen Mirren's character) was really awesome too. Mo (Brendan Fraiser) annoyed me to no end.

I've never read the books, so I'm not sure if he's like that in the series. *Need to read the books*

Anyway, if you've seen either movie, tell me what you thought!

I bought the ENTIRE set of Transformers G1 DVDs on eBay.

I regret it because it was pretty expensive ($160 with insurance - affordable right now, but still...

) but since it's what I grew up on, I figure it's OK.

I could never get tired of gigantic alien sentient transforming robots.

My cousin got me into Transformers when I was six. I thought it was awesome at the time. I still think they're awesome. Jazz is the most awesome - he was voiced by Scatman Crothers in G1. I can't wait until I get it.

Awesome. Although drinking is not and will not be a regular thing for me. Too expensive, and I have the fear of ending up like my mother.

EDIT 1: I should like to point out that I wasn't looking to get drunk. I only meant to have one glass - I just enjoyed the taste so much that I finished off the bottle without realising it.

It wasn't until the bottle was empty that I went "huh? Where'd it all go?" (Or, to quote Cap'n Jack Sparrow: "Why is the rum always gone?")

So I had my review, and basically the feed back was "your not fired ... yet ... we'll keep you for as long as we can afford to.

_{If someone has to go, you won't be first}" which is always a good thing.

Then we (and by "we", I mean all 4 of us working at the office) celebrated my 6 month anniversary at work by drinking wine. A sweet white - vintage 2008 (don't know how that counts as "vintage") Moscato.

This is officially the 2nd time I've had wine. The first was a week or two ago, and that was red and savoury, or so I was told. I definitely enjoy the sweet better. I had 2 glasses at work, and took the bottle home as there was - was - still ¹/₂ a bottle left.

It's all gone now, but I'm not even slightly tipsy. Seriously. For someone who NEVER drinks alcohol unless all other options have vanished (which means I have drink maybe twice a year), I have a really good tolerance of the stuff, since I've downed roughly ³/₄ of a bottle of wine and don't even have a headspin.

...

Probably a good thing I'm not working tomorrow, though.

Good News

I've been catching up with a lot of old high school friends through Facebook, which is good, and I've learned that we have a 10 Year Year 10 reunion in April. Not sure if I'm going yet, we'll see how things pan out.

Bad News

Yesterday, my doctor (not, sadly, the Doctor) has FINALLY seen fit to refer me for a CT scan to see what's going on with my head. I've never had so much as an X-Ray before, and had no idea what to expect. When I got there, I had to bite my cheek to keep from giggling from a feeling of sheer idiocy because one of my shoes fell off when I hoisted myself up on the bed/tray thing, and the other one wobbled for a bit before flying off my foot when I lay down flat. The lady, methinks, was amused.

Anyway, the doctor will hopefully have the results of the scan and the blood test I took yesterday by Monday, and maybe - MAYBE - he can finally figure out what's wrong with me!!

I've just discovered that in the last 12 months I've lost 27 kilograms - that's 59.4 pounds for all you non-metric weir... uh, lovelies.

For the first time since I was 11, my stomach is flatter than my chest!

On the other hand, I am flat-out exhausted. For those who don't know, I work in a small real estate office (as in, there's currently three of us here) and our Sales guy got fired on Saturday and so our Property Manager and has taken on some residential sales in addition to the rentals she already manages, leaving me with FAR more work than I've had to date. It's been all-go yesterday and today, and it shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.

I just want to crawl into bed and not emerge until tomorrow morning.
