My 5k kiriban was kinda lame. My husband caught it. XD
I still owe him art. I promised I'd photoshop one of his linearts for him. :3

So... I'm going to Disneyland this weekend. o_o
Like in a few hours. o_____o

They had a special deal for the military,
and we didn't think it'd be so inexpensive, so it would be silly not to go.
Four of us are going, with three day park hoppers and two nights at a hotel,
for only $300. @____@ Plus our Amtrak tickets to Anaheim, which are dirt cheap.

The most expensive thing is going to be the food. XD
But I outsmarted those suckers. I kept our specialty cups from
our honeymoon to Disneyworld that gets us half off on refills. >D

I cannot believe the randomness of it all, I'm so excited.
My husband really was like "Hey, wanna go to Disneyland next weekend?"
And I didn't have to make all the plans by myself for once! XD

POEM

Something a little out of the ordinary for me.
I was thinking about how ~merili's tablet died.
And the other day I was reading "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe.
So I wrote this quirky bit of weirdness in a notepad document. XD


<sub>It was many and many a year ago,
In a Best Buy by the sea,
That a tablet there lived whom you may know
By the name of Wacombel Lee;
And this tablet it lived with no other thought
Than to draw and be drawn on by me.

I was a noob and it was a noob,
In my photoshop suite CS3;
But we drew with a love that was more than love -
I and my Wacombel Lee;
With a love that the winged admins of DA
Coveted it and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this photoshop suite CS3,
A magnet fell off the fridge, chilling
My beautiful Wacombel Lee;
So that its matching tablet pen came
And caused it to fail for me,
To cause glitches in my dot PSD.
In this photoshop suite CS3.
The admins, not half so happy on DA,
Went envying it and me
Yes! that was the reason
(as all artists know, In this Best Buy by the sea)
That the magnet came off of the fridge by night,
Chilling and killing my Wacombel Lee.

But our love was stronger by far than the love
Of those with more talent than we
Of many far wiser than we
And neither the admins on DA,
Nor the art thieves online,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Wacombel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Wacombel Lee;
And I'm never bored when I feel the light cord
Of the beautiful Wacombel Lee;
And so, all the night's send, I lie down by the bend

Obviously, a huge knock off of the original.
But it gave me a laugh to write it and if it makes you smile, it'll make my day.

My husband comes home from Japan in... just a few days.
I'm going a bit crazy waiting for him, now that it's so soon.

I moved back out to California.
My mother's here visiting for a few more days.
We didn't have internet here for over a week, but it's back on now.
She's been a great help gettin things cleaned and ready,
but she always has to be doing something, it's a bit exauhsting.

Now that all the chores are done and I've taken her to all the touristy places,
she wants to start helping me pack to move again.
Which won't be for at least another four months.

Luckily now that the cable is back on,
I might be able to soothe her with reruns of NCIS. X3

6. My husband and I are picky eaters. I've been trying to eat better in preparation for having kids, but I just don't like eating leftovers. :/

7. Sleeping is my favorite pass-time. I have the best plot driven, in depth, insane dreams. It usually takes me a long time to fall asleep and I wake up often in the night. As a result, I can easily sleep 10-12 hours. o_o

8. I like snails. I'm not sure why. If I could afford any pet in the world it would be the giant african land snail. ~.~

July's been awesome so far.
My dad discovered that there was a recall on my husband's broken laptop,
and got the whole thing fixed for free He is so OSM. XD

HGSS... September 12 in Japan. I'm still geeking out about it.
I've been dying for a Jhoto remake for so long I don't know if I can stand it.

Also, I'm making some major bucks this weekend.
I'm babysitting for some rich folks going out of town.
Three bratty kids. One country club. Three day, two night sleepover from hell.
And all they have in the house is nasty health food soy tofu crap.

I'll be leaving Japan early this month. So sad. D:
It started off rough, but I really have loved this trip.
I'm definitly coming back in June. :3

I'll be back in VA this month.
Hopefully I'll be able to get back to CA soon though.

Meri & Mina are going to LA for a concert in May though,
so I might fly back with them. We'll see.

So... I'm in Okinawa right now. o________o

It's cool and all, except I'm pretty much stuck on
the US military base out here with no way to actually go
out into the country to explore.

I tried riding a bike around, but the town is an uphill
ride from where I am. And I'm out of shape. X3

Hopefully I'll be able to go out on the weekends. We'll see.
There's really not a whole lot to do here where I am.
I think my trip to the mainland this summer
will be more what I'm hoping for.

I promise lots of pictures from this trip though! :3
At least there's pokemon crap in like every convenience store out here. XD

What happened to November?
I was gone from DA for like a month and a half.
Apologies to anyone who cares...

November was consumed by visiting home
and spending to much money at Nekocon.
And Thanksgiving. Which rocked. I baked a ham.
And I discovered I like green beans now. Who knew?

As for December...
I have so much crap to do in preparation for January.
My husband is being deployed to Japan,
and of course I'm going to have to visit him there. X3
That means taking care of car insurance, taxes, credit cards,
housing issues, cell phones, bills, travel plans...

Not to mention Christmas. -_-;;
I wish my folks could hurry up and get here so
I'd at least have someone to run around and do errands with.

My husband insists I stress to much.
I maintain that I stress just the right amount.

The worst part is that I haven't even been
keeping up with my OC obsession... Poor ~LTech50

October.
Two very awesome things happen in October.

Halloween. Duh.
Candy overdoses, frightening small children,
and cosplay are all accepted by the masses for one
night of the year. Good times.

Also, my husband's birthday is next week.

so finding something he wants that I can

It's September.
The kids are back in school.
But I still wear white after Labor Day,
so not much has changed.

I've taken my artwhore obsession with my OCs to a new level.

My brother's visit to CA went awesomely.
He had a lot of time to do nothing and relax.
Maybe too much time, though I kept him as busy as I could. X3

He gifted me with the Adobe CS3 suite,
along with free tech support.
And somehow my computer can now play PS2 games.
He's always so good to me ~

Now I am in Virginia visiting my parents.
I'll be here for the entire month of August.
I have no photoshop and I forgot my tablet,
so there won't be anything fancy this month...

I've given up all hope of finishing the Sudoku books.
I got a very poor response with this project.

I love sudoku, and often doodle in the margins between puzzles.

I've bought 5 sudoku puzzle books, with at least 100 puzzles each.
On each page I will doodle a picture of your OC.
Every time you do a puzzle you see a new picture of your character! How great is that?
After I've filled every page with drawings, I'll mail it to you!

Obviously, some rules apply...

1. I can only accept 5 applicants.
I only bought that many books for now.

2. You must live in the continental US.
I have to pay for shipping.
Since I also paid for the puzzle books,
I don't want to pay too much.

3. Please only apply if you are over 18.

My folks took my husband (~SetsumaruHanabishi) and I to
San Francisco the weekend before last. It was a last minute idea,
but we got to go hang out in Chinatown and Japantown.
Japantown was amazingly awesome. *o*

The husband and I spent $400, a hundred of which
was just on pokèmon crap for me.
My new 6" Regigigas figure makes it all worthwhile.
Setsu also found a crap ton of Monster Hunter stuff.
It's hard to find, so we bought up all of it we could. :3

As if that trip wasn't great enough, the folks took us to
Knott's Berry Farm this past weekend in Anaheim.
They had a promotional gig where kids got a free Fedora
(Indiana Jones type hat), and those idiots actually gave me one.
I know I look young, but come on, I'm married. >_>;;
Oh well, free hat. XD

On the way back from the park we hit up LA for a few hours
to visit our more "local" Japantown.
Anime Jungle [link] had a great deal on figure sets, so...
we spent another $400 there too. >_<;;
We now have far too many Disgaea figures... X3

We also found the Monster Hunter Pinky St. toys.

Well last but not least, my computer was not up to par.
I kidnapped my father and he went halves with me on a new box.
My papa was able to take spare parts and make an extra desktop
for Setsu, so we now have more computers in the house than residents. X3

During the process of moving hard drives, there was a crash.
I lost pretty much all my art. Again. DX
I'm not happy about it, but I'm not too worried either.
My only worry is getting all my old programs onto the new computer.
I miss Illustrator 10...

NEWS

My neighbors have been terrible lately.

The ones one the left are noisey and... kinda dumb.
Last night around 11 they were jumping up and down inside
their trash can trying to get all the trash to fit,
since today is garbage pickup day.

The one guy on the right keeps threatening to give us
a parking ticket for parking adjacent to a handicap ramp.
Even though we're not blocking the ramp.
I'm not too worried about it because I'm a google master
and found our State Vehicle Codes 21458(a)(4) and 22500(l).
(Suck it you stupid K9 Unit cop!)


There's a good chance my folks are visiting soon.

They found a free flight for this Friday!
(Military flights are free if you're retired and they have extra seats.)
If my husband can take a little leave, though I doubt he can,
there's a connecting flight to Hawaii for a few days.
That'd be super awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
(A free flight to Hawaii... No! Must-Not-Get-Hopes-Up...)

Yeah, so I might have a busy month, or I might not. :]
All I know is that I'm excited for my folks to come.
My mom, aside from the obligatory home cooked meals,
has the ability to get me to do all the chores I've been putting off.
And my Papa will take me to the computer store as an advisor so
I can finally buy myself a not crappy desktop. C:

Not much to report lately.
Slowly working on a CG for a friend.

The Strawberry Festival was last weekend.
There were a lot of art vendors but everything was massively overpriced.
They sold every possible strawberry related thing you could think of.
I really wanted to try some strawberry wine, but I was driving for my group. :/
Next year maybe.

I did get a strawberry funnel cake of yumm-ness though.
And a sunburn. D:
I even put on suncreen too.
Well, like I said. Not much to report.

I went around DA watching random galleries today.
It was FUN. I highly suggest it for whenever
you're at a friends house and you miss your tablet and
discover you can't draw with a mouse anymore... T^T

In other news, on the commision front,

They have been sooooo nice and awesome.

Hey guys, I'm not dead!
Yeah... you didn't miss me, I know. :<

I'm back in California now with my hubby.
I miss all my friends & family in VA,
but omg the weather is so much nicer here.

Yeah I've been trying to catch up on arts I owe...
And my apartment needs cleaning.
But last weekend I shirked responsibility and went to LA! : D
I bought some pokèmon crap for contest prizes in ~The-Ribbon-Society.
I got lots of other junk too. It was fun. We wasted a paycheck. :3

My husband has been on deployment
in the military for SEVEN MONTHS.
He's been in Ghana, Africa.
