We reserved a 17 foot truck to move me and TC to our new place, come 9am we received a phone call telling us that the tuck that was meant for us had been stolen. It has now been two days since it should have been returned. So they gave us the first 14 footer that came back.

We allowed our other roommate at the last house use it first to move her then her boyfriend. We got all her stuff out of the house in under an hour and a half. She got unloaded in a little bit longer than that.

Now her boyfriend on the other hand was not even fully packed. So around 5:30pm (or 17.30 for you old school grammar and 24h clock Nazi’s) we finally got the tuck back to move our stuff.

We start moving thing quickly when my ex-roommate we will name Mr.Dickhead comes home. He is the only one of us who was staying behind. He flips the shit out! Sends his airheaded girlfriend over and has her tell us he is calling the cops, telling them we’re trespassing. Me and B-rad manage to calm him down with pointing what an idiot he is.

We get the truck packed up and send it out. Me and stay behind to clean. Mr. Dick's gf goes off on me and rightly ignore her. Mr. Dick tells her to layoff as it was not my fault. Meanwhile TC’s key doesn’t work on the door. B-rad manages to jimmy the lock and the others enter in to find our new apartment a complete mess.

We found lots of furniture, a typewriter (which I’m keeping) our deck with garbage on it. A propane tank! Filth everywhere and some bugs. Now that being bad enough, it wasn’t what we found that made us upset it was more what we did not find. One bedroom’s ceiling fan was missing leaving the light hanging by wires. Our smoke alarm as well was taken, but that wasn’t the weirdest thing. She took our bloody bedroom doors!

I mean who the hell steals peoples doors!!!

Anyway we get packed in by 1130pm and b-rad has to take the truck back and he’s too tired to come back for his car. So I’m chosen to take his care to the rental place with him.

I haven’t driven in over a year and never in the city. So I was kind of paranoid. I did fairly well and was comfortable by the end of it. Only ran one red  and it didn’t help that brad got me stuck in snow when he left me the car (unknowingly of Crouse).

Seven strangers came to our rescue and helped rock us out. That part made me feel a little better about my fellow man. So we finally get back to the house all zonked and go to late night Rol San’s (best Chinese food in Canada by far). TC didn’t feel right about sleeping in the house but since we didn’t have a working key she decided to stay at Liz’s. So and I stayed at the new place.

The property manager came by in the morning and he stated taking care of business. He was awesome. We will have doors by Friday, deck will be cleared off. The place has been fumigated, ceiling fan on its way. He even reimbursed us on the cleaning supplies we had to buy without question. Pretty awesome guy.

All and all, now that bit by bit the place is coming together I think I’m going to love it here.
