Today is October 3rd, which means I'm turning 15 in a little over a month. My, how time flies. So, you know, if you guys have any spare time between now and Nov. 11, I would really love it if I got some birthday art. By no means does anyone have to, nor does it have to be spectacular or huge. I'd just be very happy, that's all.

I've started high school! Loving my art class and hoping to scan some of my projects when I get them back.

It all started a couple days ago when I commented about someone on FF.net who pisses me off. Honest101. For those of you who don't know who she is, consider yourself lucky. She has a forum dedicated to flaming the PJO community.

Now I replied on a forum for people who don't like her. And here's what I said:

"OK so I.ve grown up a little since the last time I posted here. And I've come to realize a few things:

I still disagree with what you are doing. There are several problems with flaming. I've read a lot of your "reviews" which mostly consist of "This is horrible" with the occasional "Get a beta reader" or something attached. This is not even successful flaming. This is complete and utter garbage. If you went on to one of my stories and said that, I'd laugh at you. And if you're so concerned with bad writing, why don't you write something and become a beta reader? That's what I'm going to do.

Also, in case you didn't know, or just didn't care, there is indeed a human being on the other end of that screen. A human being with feelings. Outright flaming them will do nothing to make them a better writer. And personally, I'd like to see a person grow from a story riddled with bad plots and Mary-Sues to one who can write something decent. Telling them "This is horrible" without telling why does nothing. So instead of flaming, why not concrit? As hard as it may be, find at least one positive aspect about a story. It can be something like spelling or grammar or keeping characters' personalities. Then, find the things they need to improve on. In the long run, it will help them a lot more, which means (eventually) less bad stories for you to read.

So yes. I don't like you, Honest. I don't like what you're doing here. We can be polite and constructive without flaming. And no, I will not parade around with one of your "I hate Honest" avatars because that would just give you satisfaction. Good day to you, sir and/or madam."

A little preachy perhaps, but that's how I felt. I expected to get hate mail from the Veritas (her little groupies) for that, but nothing of this magnitude.

So I checked my email later and found this.

Well, first of all, retard, in case you've not noticed Honest101 is GONE. She
has been gone for at least six months. She's obviously not comng back. So, why
are YOU here?

You're basically talking to air, anyway. There are so many other flamers out
there right now, and you choose to scold the inactive one? That shows me you
have no guts at all.

Second, Honest101 is a girl. She has only said it... what? A hundred times,
two hundred? So, you scold inactive flamers AND you can't comprehend it when
someone says "I'm a girl,"? No wonder your stories suck so badly."

Needless to say, I was hurt. Crushed really. I knew I shouldn't let it get to me, but it hurt anyway. All the same.

I have replied since then, but I am now afraid to check my email because I am scared to be hurt again like that. I had to go onto the forum to copy what I said and there is now another person involved.

I don't know what to do. I know I have to face them eventually, but I don't know how.

People with multiple children...Twins aren't good enough anymore, now you have to have sextuplets to be special?

Every single time I turn on the TV there's some new "original" show about some family with 8-19 kids. A woman doesn't have to do anything to better our world as a whole. No, all she has to do is take fertility drugs and have 5 kids at the same time and then a few more!

Synopsis of Today:

Episode I. I give parents school newspaper, which I illustrate for. They take one look at the horoscope (with my drawings on it) and they say, "Kelsey, you should really broaden your horizons and draw something besides Japanese art" which is code for "draw something we like." I cry in bathroom.

Episode II. School and exam week. Study Hall first. I end up watching "Mr. Bean's Holiday" with (which is funny, but I couldn't understand them because they all speak French through half the movie.)

Episode III: Math, World History, and then lunch. We were supposed to have assigned seats, but I guess the lunch aids forgot or something... Oh, well. Good for me.

Episode IV: Writing Exam. Mostly grammar. Uneventful.

Episode V: Newspaper pizza party. and BJ are there.

Episode VI: We leave the building. Outside, there are some girls (Girl #1, Bitch, and Other) practicing a cheer for that cheerleading clinic thing...
BJ says: Oh, look it's the cheerleaders.

The Good:

Writing the stories was fun. We are given a prompt, then have to write a story with that prompt. There were two rounds of competition. In the first, we had to write about a general. In the second, we had to use this quote: "Courage is what it takes to sit down and listen." Afterwards, we got to have pizza, pop, and a Zebra Cake. Then, the award ceremony. My school took home both 1st place trophies (one of which belongs to my good friend ) and I GOT 8TH FREAKING PLACE!!!! OUT OF 50-80 7th GRADERS!!!!

And now,

The Bad:

So, in between the pizza and the award ceremony, we had to make school banners. I signed it and drew one of my OC's by my name (it was cute.) Well, this one girl (let's call her "Francis" shall we?) who I thought was sort of my friend, said I "ruined their banner" with my "anime crap." W. T. EFFF???!!! then, as if that weren't enough, she writes next to it (and this is the exact spelling) "NO1 CARES ABOUT ANIME" Then, my friends say that was really mean so she writes "j/k."
OHMIGOD!!! If there is one thing I hate more than mean comments, it's that "oh, I was just kidding" thing that people (especially girls) do.
Shut up! We all know you weren't kidding! was right, she is mean!

Anyway, I have a very important question to ask you DA people.

Am I as worthless and terrible as I think I am?
and I joined the newspaper a few weeks back. I have done a lot of crap for it and does anyone care? No. The editor just kinda glances over my work and says, "That's nice Kelsey." But, then when he looks at Larry's stuff (which is lovely, as always) it's like "OMG Larry, this is sooo great!"

I tried out for drama club. Didn't even get a callback. I know I can act. I do it every day!

I almost never show my parents my art and when I do, they're just all, "That's nice, Kelsey" or "Why don't you draw something besides anime or magna or whatever it's called."

Every contest I join, noone votes for me. I try my best and noone votes for me. (This is not the main reason I'm emo-ing.)

Larry-chan, don't get mad at me. I just need a second opinion. And I AM NOT TRYING TO SOUND EMOZ AND WHINY AND SELF-CENTERED!! This is how I feel about myself.

Classes:

1st Period-Band: I don't get why everyone last year was saying Mr. Kuhn is mean. He doesn't seem too bad to me, but then again I haven't seen his bad side yet...I have two friends in this class, but since they're both on different ends of the room, yeeeaaahh...

2nd Period-Pre-Algebra: I like Mrs. Duff. She's cool! No homework yet, thank god... is in this class with me (YEY!)

3rd Period-Reading: Again, cool teacher (which is good, since I have her twice.) Class is kind of blah though...

4th Period-Spanish: Three words: SPANISH. IS. AWESOME!!! I love this class! The teacher is really nice (and her accent is so cool.) Same friends from band in this class, except they sit right behind me.

5th Period-Writing: Same teacher from reading, which BTW, writing is so much better than. We have to write a friendly letter to her tommorow and I get to put doodles in it, YES! is in this class with me and sits in front of me (YEY AGAIN!)

Lunch: Only time I see and other than in the halls. The lunches here are WAY better than last year. The turkey wrap actually tastes like turkey and I'm not hungry again at 7th period. All of my friends have the same lunch period as me (TRIPLE-QUADRUPLE YEY!!!)

6th Period-Science: I really like my teacher in this subject. He's cool too! No peeps in this class though...

7th Period-World History: Uhhhh...No comment.

Bottom Line: JUNIOR HIGH IS WAY BETTER THAN 6TH GRADE!!!! 's

I FREAKIN' HATE SHADOW!!! And do you want to know why!?
1. His game marked the ruin of the Sonic series (controversial: some people think Sonic Heroes did that.)
2. Too angsty. There's nothing wrong with being like that sometimes, but being angsty ALL the time is just annoying...
3. He overused his cursing privilges.
4. Other than Sonic, he is the only character that still has a super form (Knuckles and Tails used to have one, but Sega doesn't use them anymore.) Sega, if you're gonna give a character a super form, give one to Knuckles and Tails, along with Sonic or just Sonic, NOT LAME-OS LIKE SHADOW!!!
5. Shadow's too popular. Sure, this may be a stupid reason, but notice that it's not my only reason. On the U.S. Sega website under the poll, "Who's your favorite character," Sonic was in the lead by just 1% over Shadow, 25% to 24% (Knuckles was third with 10%; I voted for him .)

I think that these days, fandom likes the lamest characters best (Shadow, Layla from Winx Club, Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew, etc.) And as you can see from the little list there (which is based on fact,)it's an epidemic that's not just limited to Sonic fandom. Go ahead and flame me, but this is my opinion and nothing anyone says or does is going to change that.
