Do you ever get the feeling like everyone around you is infinitely cooler than you are? I'm living on a sci fi hall and that about sums up the experience to the point where I'm wondering whether I should've spent more time playing video games and crap instead of doing things I like just as much but wound up doing instead. Like dance. I spent 11 years doing that and right now it seems like those 15-20 hours a week would've been better spent playing Soul Caliber or something

Also, sorry I haven't uploaded anything recently. My tablet doesnt want to work on my laptop (which is a mac) and on top of that I left my paint program CD at home. I feel like I'm wasting the subscription :iconmaryseif: got me. Sorry! ;_;

On top of that, my ankle feels weird and I'm worried it might be sprained and I wont be able to join the college circus. That's what I get for kicking off a wall during an epic nerf battle (though I am apparently a pretty good shot with a six shooter).

/whinge

Next journal wont be so whiny, I promise. This was just bothering me.

I leave tomorrow to college so more arts will be slow as I get settled in and attempt to balance new classes and stuff.

Which I guess isnt saying much since I rarely update as is hurhur. >>;

ANYWAY

I'm super excited to go. I'm on the sci-fi/fantasy floor of my dorm. I have an awesome room and roomate. We've already dorked out over animu and video games and I am so looking forward to living in a veritable conclave of nerds. This being said for a college where most people are nerds to begin with. I think I'm going to major in neuroscience too since the school I'm going to has a wicked neuroscience department, though that depends on whether I can survive chemistry since it kicked my ass in high school. I already have enough credit to waive the basic biology and psychology classes though so hopefully that'll get me somewhere.

WISH ME LUCK I HOPE I DONT FAIL OUT OF COLLEGE :heart:

HAS ANYBODY SEEN THIS OH MY GOD IT LOOKS AWESOME *A*

Between the cast, the TIM BURTON, and the soundtrack (fadsfddad that song in the preview gives me chills. ;_; ), I have been reduced to a gooey puddle of fangirlish glee. It'll be interesting to see how it's recieved. Darker animated films never seem to get the credit they deserve, but it's no surprise considering most of them go the way of 'Ice Age': fun but cutesy. '9' thus far looks more like 'the Matrix'. With better actors.

Also next kiriban is 3333, since that appears to be coming up soonish.

Okay so

My brother doesnt close the door when he goes outside
So now there are bugs crawling around

EVERYWHERE

I normally like bugs but oh my god this is is a bit much.
Not helped by the fact that I was eaten alive by flies at the beach earlier today even though I practically bathed in bug spray.

SPOILER ALERT. Do not read if you havent seen Star Trek.

So yeah, I saw it a few days ago AND IT WAS AWESOME. The casting choices were all around great but my favorite by far was Zachary Quinto as Spock. -melts- It's been a while since I've fangirled over anything but for this I shall be making an exception. >_> Watching him try and be all emotionless and then twitch through the whole movie was entierly too entertaining.

Scotty and Chekhov were also awesome, but THAT FIGHT WITH SULU d;fkjasdfasdf. "Fencing" homg -snicker- His switchblade katana thinger is seriously the greatest invention known to man. Ahora (prolly spelled that wrong) was pretty badass as well, I just wish she'd been done justice with more actual action. Even in the beginning she could've done something about the barfight but nooooo all she was supposed did was stand there and go "gaiz stop eet DD:". OH WELL. She did get to mack on Spock though. :iconicameplz:

Of course, there was the token absurd screw ups that you dont have to be a trekkie to spot. I mean honestly. What was the point of showing the Enterprise being built on the ground? Thats not even a canon issue, thats a scientific one. You couldnt build a spacefaring ship on the ground and expect it to be able to escape the earth's gravity. I dont care how much they wanted to establish the grandeur of Star Fleet, its scientifically unsound.

The blowing up of Vulcan wasnt AS bad. When I saw it I was like 'lolsweet this could make an interesting plot twist' but then I realized what it would do to the fandom. Way to beg a shiny new generation of fantards with the ability to post their stuff for the masses to spawn crappy vulcan centric fanfics. -headdesk-
