Just a small update

Been a while since I've updated my journal.

Nothing too special going on at the moment. Can't wait for Christmas to pass- just because there are too many people coming to Kohl's. >:

In other news, still taking sketch page commissions. At least until New Years, then I need to go through and adjust my prices and stuff. For more information on those you can see my front page as I have a small widget advertising the sketch commissions.

Also advertising groups on the side of this journal. Ciudad Eterna is back in business. As well as a new group designed for art challenges. You can visit both groups for more information.

Because I lack the time at the moment for any nice completed work i can only offer sketches until school ends. Little different than my normal sketch commissions though- these will consist of a full page of sketches.

*3+ sketches per page
*Toned paper or White paper
*Can suggest poses (though they may or may not be used)

News

School has been keeping me busy still. D| I really though this semester wouldn't be as busy as the others. ;w; Guess I was wrong about that.

Got a new car recently except now i'm like... totally poor. Work hasn't been giving out very many hours either. Gas and food get expensive after a while. But I'm enjoying my new car a lot. =w= Cute little black beetle. Don't know what we're going to do with my old car at the moment though.

Because I spent all that money on a car I'm kinda in need of money again- so I'll be advertising commissions in a separate journal, though you can find information about these sketch commissions on my front page as well.

School has been keeping me pretty busy. I overloaded myself with Gaia commissions and ended up procrastinating on most of them. >A>;;; I plan to scan some when finish this journal. D| I feel bad for taking so long on them, though it really hasn't been that long I guess. lol But thats what I get for accepting bribes. |D

I'm enjoying my classes so far, though my english class is a bit iffy. :\ But I have some fun classes, like character development and drawing heads and hands. <3333

Today was exciting though, I met ~kariavalon in person today. DD: It was awesome- she drew me a really really pretty picture of Ema. ;w; I felt bad because all I did was a simple chibi. But I want to meet more of my internet friends now. DD:

Anyways off to work on scanning some commissions and coloring one- maybe. >A> I should be working on stuff for school, but I prefer to procrastinate.

Yea- i've been sick the last couple of days and haven't had much motivation to do anything in over a week now. I'm moody and bitchy and horrible. So I apologize if I've acted horribly to anyone- i haven't meant to and I'm sorry.

So the other day I got a DD on one of my drawings. DDD: I was like... so so shocked and such. ;w; I didn't know what to do. And I went to bed at 1 that day with like. 100 messages iin my message center and went to school in the morning coming back to like..... 900 messages. @________________@ Yea- I didn't go through them all.

But I'd like to thank everyone who faved and commented and watched me after seeing the DD. D8 It means a lot to me that you liked me art. And thank you to *orpheelin for suggesting it as a DD. If you don't watch her go do so because she's like.... 74r3904782348927398 times more awesome than me.

âWhen did you start drawing? Um... when I was first able to hold a pencil- or well crayons. xD I started drawing a lot though in 6th grade- pokemon totally pulled me into the anime scene. .___.;;;

â Which hand do you use for drawing? Left, though I can draw decent gestures with my right hand too. owo;;

â Which is easier to draw - male or female? For the longest time females were easier- but I'm pretty comfortable drawing either now.

â Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair? Long~ I love drawing long flowy hair. owo

â Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left? Left I suppose- though its really more of a comfort thing than whether its easier or not.

â Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view? I like drawing them both? DD8 I don't know if one is really any easier that the other for me. |D'

â What do you have problems in drawing? Hands, feet and interesting poses.

â What do you like to draw? Original character and other people's original characters.

â Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist? Both. I like to experiment a lot with both mediums.

â Where do you start drawing from? Well the head- but I usually start off with a quick gesture layout for the post and such I want to do. Then move onto refining the head and body and such. .w.

â What is your drawing habit that you are aware of? I don't know. DD8 i um.... I have really fun looking sketches in my sketchbooks- yet can't get any of my finished pieces to look as interesting? |D;;;

â What do you keep in mind when you do lineart? "jfksdljflksd DONT MESS UP." When i do real lineart it means its done traditionally. my digital works rarely have any real lines as they're just my original sketch.

â Any tips for coloring/shading? Use at least one layer per color. .w. its easier to adjust it then. And don't be afraid to do bold shading. DD8 I see a lot of pe...}

Well I am taking a summer class- but still. I'm taking an intro to computer graphics, so we have to use illustrator and photoshop. So this takes about half my day and then I work also, though that schedule fluctuates. |D

One thing I want to try to do this summer is actually leave comments. >A> I'm horrible at leaving comments. So hopefully I'll not be too lazy and do that.

And and- I'm like totally addicted to Tennessee Ernie Ford. @w@;;; 1950s is just totally awesome.

NEWS

I was too lazy to make myself a journal css and decided to use the message center one made by ¢nyssi. I liked how it looked on Ivanna's page. XD I don't know if I'll keep it for very long- I just got tired of my old one. I might try and play around a bit with the css coding on this one. We'll see if I have the patience for it. lol

The OC art Jam is still in progress. *Chibi-Kai-Chan extended this weeks jam due to getting sick. This weeks character was my very own Xelendia. XD I didn't want to advertise it before cuz I'm weird like that. lol Not really, I was just busy with finals this week. I'll now be advertising it on the sidebar of the journals. That way people can see the current character from there as well. owo

School semester is finally over~ I thought it would never end. XD Been drawing- or trying to draw all day today. Nothing good has popped out yet though. >: I did reopen my commission status on Gaia again- though it may be a bit slow as I'll have a summer class starting up again in a couple of weeks. _{Last week on friday, =Ivanna-san , =Hamstertastic and I did this fun little art challenge thing. I kinda thought it would be fun to do something like this with more people, but I wanted to know how many people would actually be interested in doing something like it.

Basically when we did the challenge last friday, we did 6 drawings. The challenges are pretty random at times. Here were our first challeneges:
+ Little red riding hood and the big bad wolf

+ A mouse eating cheese

+ One of your characters hugging a tree

+ Pick one of your own characters, then draw another person's chosen character in their clothes.

+ Draw your oldest looking character as a 5 year old --[link]
+ Draw one of *rinyx 's characters in a maid dress. --[link]

Basically if we made this a bigger thing, we'd limit the time spent on a drawing to about 15 minutes. We'd do anywhere from 5-10 drawings at least during one challenge. Sometimes these challenges will just be silly, and other times the challenges would be slightly more serious or perhaps push the boundaries of you comfort zone in drawing. owo;}

I finally broke out of the art block on Tuesday, finishing some sketches for the auction I had done over at Gaia. Excited about getting out of the art block, me being sick started to get worse the following day. I went to work both Wednesday and Thursday. I felt horrible on Friday and Saturday I ended up going home from work sick. I almost passed out this morning while I was taking a shower. I feel so light headed and dizzy right now. _{Well, work is lovely and decided to only give me one day of work this week.... which was Sunday. .____. So now I'm bored because everyone else has started school and what not.

Anyways, you might not see much of me *not that I've been around or anything too much* for a while. My parents were talking about the electricity bill being really high this month, so I figured I shouldn't be on the computer too much, in order to help them save. Of course.... then i get really bored. And being bored and stuff I don't always have the inspiration to draw, even though I have the time. >____> So then I'm left with nothing to do all day. |D;;;;; Hopefully I'll have works up soon that aren't commissions. _{I don't know how many people will respond to this, I was just curious as to what people thought of my art, or ways that I could possibly approve.

What I ask: Go through my gallery and look at my different pieces. You can choose one piece, or talk about my gallery in general, and tell me what you think I need to improve on. ( i.e. Anatomy, character design, composition, etc.... ) Don't criticize the style of art... just what needs to be improved on, as a style will grow and change with that knowledge. Anything you can think of that I could work on to make my art better not only to you and everyone else, but also to myself.

I know people tent to be scared of this kind of thing and try to avoid it. |D I can criticize my own work all day, but hearing it from other people make me want to put more effort into changing it.}

_{Today started out good. =w= I got my hair done and spent some time with my mom. After lunch I started to feel really dizzy though. D| I don't know what's wrong... its still like that now... but not nearly as bad. But it probably helps not wearing my glasses for about 3 or so hours now. |D;; I think I might be in need of a new prescription... but I'm like.. poor. Felt a little down earlier, but then drew some lovely depressing stuff and felt better. =w=;; Funny how that works. Then I started to draw fluffy happy stuff. _{Well, right now I'm not in a great mood. I know that my transmission is gonna go on me and I'll be needing a new car. Not too thrilled as I don't have nearly enough money to afford it and my parents aren't really willing to help out, or at least that's how it sounds to me. This whole situation is making me feel a whole lot worse than I did previously. I'm not getting very many hours at work right now either, though I'll take anything they give me right now. D| So they called me today, and as much as I wanted to be on here today and talk to everyone, I need the money and took the hours.

_{Still feeling down, and still in an art block. Video games don't seem to be helping now, because I don't even want to play them. D|

I concluded that it might be a good idea for me to not go to chatrooms for a while here on dA. If I do go into one, it'll probably just be to say hi and stuff, but I probably won't stay very long in them.

I've just..... been feeling really unappreciated and unwanted both online and in real life. I hate feeling this way and wish I didn't, but unfortunately nothing seems to go in my favor anyways. I just don't really know what to do at the moment, and with the way I've been feeling it doesn't seem to be lightening up at all. So, until I feel better, most of you probably won't see or hear from me on dA.

Daily Rant...

Currently too pissed to do anything right now. I was doing the laundry before, but my oh so wonderful little brother didn't take anything out of his pockets. He's been chewing a lot of gum lately and didin't take any of it out of his pockets when he sorted the laundry yesterday. So more than half of our black laundry had GUM all over it. DDDD< I've concluded he won't be getting the internet when he gets home from school today.

This week has been such a terrible week for me. I had an essay due wednesday that I thought was due the following week. I couldn't get any of our printers to work after 4 or so hours, so I decided to go to the store and buy one myself.... well, that wouldn't install for some reason. I managed to get my dad's printer to work finally and got my paper turned in. I worked on trying to get the printer working wed, after I came home from school. I tried talking to HPs online techs... but they just kept telling me to do the same things and then restart and try installing again but when it wouldn't install I couldn't talk to the same person. So I tried calling the store I bought it from to talk to a tech there, but they were all busy at the time. I eventually decided to return the printer, which thankfully didn't have any problems after I found my receipt for it. DD|

I rearranged my room yesterday and stepped on a needle, though the pain didn't last long. And my parents are out of town this whole week. D| I've been trying to get a hold of them, but they seem to think its funny to tell us to call them if they need anything and then turn off their cell phone, I mean HELLO? What if this was a serious emergency. DD< fjksdla;fjda; And now I have this whole laundry deal to just make my week even crappier than it already was.

The Basics...

What are these custom projects? They range from shoes, to tote bags, to bookmarks and other stuff. Basically what I do is take the time to customize an item with a drawing or design of your approval. While I'd prefer if you chose one of your own original characters, I can and will do my best to do a character(s) from a fanbase (i.e. Kingdom Hearts... etc).

Why are you doing this? I am doing this because I had so much fun doing my own pair of shoes and bag that I wanted to do more like them. But instead of doing them for myself, I want to do them for other people. They may seem a bit pricey at first, but I put a lot of time and effort into these kinds of things. The canvas tends to eat up my markers quite a bit and I will definitely need the money to buy new ones in the future.

I will take no more than 3 commissions at a time, though I must warn you I can be a bit slow at getting things done sometimes. They will take me anywhere from a month or two to finish. I will keep all commissioners updated on the status of their commission.

More Info...

What kind of products do you offer?

Currently I only offer custom shoes and tote bags. As I start to get some of these commissions, I hope to open it up more and offer some other kinds of bags and accessories as well.

For Shoes: I use Vans white canvas shoes, because the Vans store is extremely close to my house, and Vans are generally rather comfortable on the feet of most people. The cost about $40 a pair for me to buy them. If you'd like, you can buy your own pair of canvas shoes and send them to me to be drawn on. This will lower the total amount you have to pay for the shoes in the end.

For Tote bags: These aren't nearly as expensive to buy and I can buy these in bulk quantities. Nothing special about these. I will also sometimes add things like buttons or ribbons to the bag, but will always first get your permission before doing so.

Prices...

Shoes:
The prices vary depending on complexity and the amount of markers I use on the shoe. They can range anywhere from $80-$120 + shipping for the shoe if I buy the shoe for you. If you send me the shoe it ranges from $40-$80 + shipping. I will only work on shoes that are in good condition. Meaning now old worn out shoes. I will spray the shoes with sealer, and if you wish to pay an extra $5 I will send you a can of sealer to you with the shoes. I only use standard waterproof protection spray on the shoes, and I cannot fully guarantee that they are safe from all weather conditions. I happen to live in Cali where it rarely rains, so most of my stuff is safe.

Tote Bags:
As I stated previously, the tote bags aren't anything special and I can buy them in the bulk, unlike the shoes. I WILL NOT color the whole bag, unless you're paying me $100+ for it. The bags do seem to use a lot more ink from my markers than the shoes. I will do characters and simplish backgrounds. Prices range from $30-$50 a bag, depending on size and amount of detail requested.

Well, I'm sure most of you know what commission are, for those of you who don't, commissions are pieces of artwork that someone pays an artist to draw. Sometimes its specific, sometimes its not., just depends on what the commissioner wants.

Prices have been raised a bit from my previous commission page, and I apologize if thats inconvenient for some. I will also be a bit stricter with actually following what I have written, as before I was pretty lenient on you guys. I am no longer doing sketch pages or taking on more than 2 commissions from someone at a time. Just too stressful.

I take commission because I don't earn much at my job and could use the little extra income on art supplies.

I will also take no more than 3 commissions at a time, though I must warn you I can be a bit slow at getting them done at times.

[1] First of all, what username(s) do you go by?

[2] Do you role-play any original characters (name them) ?

Never. D| I only started rping here on dA. But I don't think I can play a character that wasn't my own.

[4] We're do you tend to hang around?

As I said I've only ever rped here on dA chatrooms and stuff. Look at my list of clubs I'm in and that will tell you where I rp. Though I do rp in private chats with close friends as well.

Most like me? D| Kyrisa. like ..... almost everything about her personality. I wish I were pretty like her. o3o

[9] Everyone tends to take a little bit of themselves and place it into their character, tell us what your character(s) inherited from you.

Lineila: uh..... religion and my knowing right from wrong and still screwing up along the way.

A number of things.... like one word replies or being forced to carry out the whole conversation. Its one thing if your character is rather quiet or something. Then I understand.

I also don't like when people throw their characters in places randomly and interrupt something or when people repeat something over and over again in the same rp until your character reacts to it. *whether its saying or doing something*

Well, as I said before, this week will be my last week of school. =w= I can't wait for it to be over. But with the end of one semester comes the decisions for the next. I've been trying to decide how I will be setting up my classes for the fall semester. I'm thinking about taking a gesture and figure class as well as maybe taking life drawing again. As awkward as it is to draw naked people, I did learn alot from the class a few semesters ago and have been contemplating about taking it again but this time with a different teacher. We'll see though. Registration dates haven't even been sent out yet, so my decisions don't have to be final just yet.

While I should have been devoting most of my time to school stuff. I've actually been working really hard on the club we've been planning on making. |D It still needs a name, and I'd like all of us to be on at once to decide. I'll be in the chat the whole day, but sometimes I may be afk. >> So I can get some school stuff done.

Well I finished one of my classes today. We took our final and what not. I'm just glad we don't have to go to school next friday. owo

I have my japanese final on Monday, and my ASL and Design final on thursday. I've been really stressing and what not with school, so I can't wait to get it all done and out of the way this semester. I'll probably be on a bit next week as well. But don't be surprised if I don't respond right away. I'll be doing alot of afkness. Well until thursday night, after my last final. >w>

Taking today off from working on stuff to relax a bit before my brain explodes. Poor Xet had been victim to me already with my terrible typos and what not. XD House is the new way to type how is!

Well I've really been working hard on coming up with ideas for the club and what not. Spent the last few days brainstorming ideas and what not. It will most likely be made once finals are over. So about two weeks, unless we can come up with a name for it before then. But it probably won't be open for about two weeks or so. I want to make sure the information is organized and what not before accepting any applications.

D: I've been joining and seeing so many different clubs made, its made me want to make one of my own. >__> Though i don't know how many people would actually be interested in it. I guess it depends really. I want a club that will be active both in chats and in art/contests/event/mission kinda things. lol We'll see. I'll brainstorm on it a bit and see about it once school ends. (two more weeks!! ))

Our yard sale went alright, although we didn't sell as much as we would have liked to sell. The rest of the stuff will be donated to goodwill, the library and my neighbors second grade class. XD

hrmm....... so bored today. D: I have the whole weekend off. lol I wanted to get my final project started for my art class but I can't do it until my paint swatches are approved for project 5. o.o I shouldn't have spent so much time on our written final. >___<

Massive Yard Sale

8D Tomorrow we are having a massive yardsale. We went through most of the things in our house and decided what we need to get rid of. :\ of course We didn't finish looking in the attic cuz it was getting hot up there. We're also a little worried whether or not we'll fit everything onto our drive way. XD We really did gather up a lot of stuff. I had some really really old stuff to get rid of. One of the things being MLP sleeping bag. D: I will be sad to see that thing sold.

After the yard sale I shall try to come on and rp. It'll be nice not having anything thing to do this weekend. Hopefully I can finish up some commissions and what not. I've been wanting to rp but never seem to come on at the right time. :\ I shall be on around noon to 1pm PST. Until then good night~~

I Shall be really busy this week trying to work on school stuff not to mention we have inventory at work this week. I worked from 5am until 1:15 today. D: It was so long and my feet are so sore...... So, *strayflame was featuring people, so I decided to feature people as well. Currently there is no number to the people I shall feature. If you want to be featured let me know in a comment on this journal. I will choose three works of yours that I like and write what I like about them.

The first image here is a photograph of some cherry blossoms. Its really pretty and I would so use that as a ref for patterns on Emalisse's dress. o.o The next to are of Anixthe. She's absolutely one of my favorite characters. Tsu is so good at developing personalities for her characters. I liked the shading of the first one of anixthe alot. On the last one I liked the misture she did of using both traditional and digital means of coloring.

The lineart in the first one is so neat and clean. The coloring is really pretty and I loved the bright happy colors that were used. I saw this image on the front of the page and was like <33333 . The second image is a little older but still very appealing to the eye. It does a good job keeping the eye in the composition with the colors and overall design. The last is a chibi because Loveless's chibi style is so cute. It makes me want a chibi from her.

I seriously wish I could draw animals like you! D: Your art has always really amazed me. I've been watching Neeko for a long time now. I am jealous of the way Neeko can draw creatures and muscular guys. Neeko draws guys and actually makes them look like guys. The proportions in both the first two images are really good. Alot better than anything I could ever do. And your chibis are so fun to look at. >w< The last image makes me lol everytime I look at it.

Commission Info

Feeling better now. My finters dont' hurt as much either. Still busy with school but there's only a few more weeks left and then I shall be free almost all summer.... I still have to work. >___<

Tomorrow after work I will put up the new contest for *club-khoc I hope everyone will enjoy the contest because we may do more like it in the future there.

Been drawing lots of stuff for AS. <3 I hope to make friends with everyone there. Been working on and off on chibies for there. Lotsa fun. Ema and Belliad are so fun to rp with. They're practically my new babies. While I've been contemplating about making a characters for EA I probably won't do it. I'll just have Ema go visit EA with Gabs instead. |D I've enjoyed Gabs coming to visit us over at AS.

I scrapped the top of my knuckles at work the other day and can't hold pencil right now. :< It has made me utterly depressed. I've had bandaids on them which only made it harder. I tried to take the bandaids off but all this cold whether we've been having lately has made them hurt even more. I'm trying hard to work on sketching up good designs for ~Roko-san 's commission. >____<

I've also been sick recently and haven't felt like doing much. I don't know what wrong though. I've been getting alot of headaches again, along with some dizzy and lightheaded-ness. >.> Sometimes, certain parts of my body will act up. I got really stiff last week to where my whole body felt like someone was crushing it. =___= I hope I feel better soon though. All this hitting me at once has made me really depressed.

Emalisse: I'm a student at Arcadium school for the gifted.

Weekend Getaway!

So............... my classes all decided to keep me really busy this weekend. I was a little happy when I found out I wasn't working saturday, because then I could go with my mom to my aunts's house. I want to go because I know if I stay home, I'll end up staying on the computer more than doing other more important things. Was gonna use some of the times to work on commissions that need to be finished.

My 2-D Design teacher gave us a bunch of stuff to so this weekend. =___= I need to make a graphite value scale as well as paint 60-100 swatches of different shades of grey. D: I need to study for my Kanji quiz on manday and also study for my ASL 3 test that'll be tuesday. Also for my design class I need to work on setting up the journals for our project 3 and 4.

If the person in charge of our scheduling at work gave me sunday off like I requested, I hope to get alot of stuff done this weekend over at my aunt's house. Otherwise you may see me on here taking some breaks. I'll be sure to try and check my mail as well if I'm away in case anyone has any questions.

For those of you who like fun school based role playing and stuff. Made two characters for the club, but I'm unsure as to whether either are accepted or not yet. Emalisse can be accepted alone but if they accept Belliad, than she has to be accepted as well. Since she's the reason he applied in the first place. XD I'm hoping this club will add some color back to my gallery. All the organization stuff had so much black that it dulled my gallery quite a bit. I except paypal and snail mail. I don't really trust either but I need some way for the money to get to me. If you are commissioning a sketch, I will expect payment upfront. Other commissions won't be expected to pay anything until I've finished a prelim sketch. I will email you the prelim sketch and it'll have a nice big watermark on it when you see it the first time. This is to avoid people getting free sketches. We will discuss whether or not I need to change anything before moving ontot the next step. At this point I will expect the commissioner to pay up $2 so the time I spent on the sketch doesn't go to waste.

I've been making sure this semester that I keep myself very busy. I'm still pretty busy with school stuff, but I've been trying to work on some things for clubs and stuff.

Currently working on choosing characters for *club-khoc's journal layout and character spotlight, as well as coming up with ideas for contests and events. I've also been working on stuff for Neo-Org. I hope that once this semester is over, I will have more time to do stuff.

Also been contemplating whether or not I should do commissions online. I don't have paypal or anything so anything would have to be sent via snail mail. >__> But, i might check out paypal again. My parents had some problems with them before, so we don't really trust them.

er......... And Tomorrow I turn 20 years old. 8D

Had my Japanese midterm tonight. I did so bad..... I wasn't sure what to study and stuff. It was our first real test this semester. It didn't help that I was tired and stuff before the test. I have a test in my 2-D design class on Tuesday, a kanji quiz in my Japanese class on Wednesday and a test in my ASL class on Thursday. >__< (( don't know If i'm gonna make it past the week, but lets hope so. ))

D: I'm probably not going to have much time for anything this semester. TT_____TT My japanese class requires 8 hours in the LLC (Language learning center), my asl class requires me to go to 4 deaf events.... not to mention the teacher signs crazy fast, and my 2-d design class will keep me busy with homework and attending art museums.

I'm planning on making a new account for sketch dumps, so you guys can see that I'm still drawing. I just don't have much time to do anything completed at the moment. Hopefully I'll have time later in the semester when things aren't quite as hectic I'll be able to get some nice pretty stuff doone to post here. I'll update the journal with the doodle account when I have time.

Well, as much as I'd love to be on here drawing and visiting with everyone, it doesn't look like I'll have much time to do much this semester. Worrk has been giving me a good number of hours each week. My classes are at night and I don't get home until about 10:00. I'll have classes everyday during the week and more than likely they'll schedule me on the weekends at work.

I've been pretty exausted late and my headaches I had last semester seem to be coming back. D: Some of you may remember me writing about them.

I've been trying to draw more but haven't had much time for anything but sketches. 8D I did by a new bag for my school stuff and decorated it with butterflies. XD I was quite happy with the way it turned out.

I'll try to update when I can.
