Also, for those interested in history, an awesome and well written history book to read is the RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH. Awesome. I hate history books. I'm hooked. It helps that the author had been a part of the whole "insert nazi-ism into the country" thing. He had been there. He often backs up factual data with his own personal descriptions. It adds a credibility to what he's writing, and it's fascinating. Hitler didn't have total support of the country when he took control! For other debased myths of WWII, read it. England didn't help France at the beginning, but France took no initiative to stop Hitler advancing. They all wanted peace so badly they didn't do anything about Hitler's break with peace. Of course, one must take the book with a grain of salt: all history is written by the victors.

It's supposed to be what you do with your friends names, but I thought, wow, what a great way to get to know my own characters! So, I put in the ten characters in one of the "working on it" stories I have (NaNoWriMo, btw) and got a lot of questions churned out. I deleted the ones that were asked twice or made no sense, but I had fun. So this is it: my characters speak! Or rather, I speak for them a lot.

These are the characters: Yacol (street kid), Havely (clandestine services), Raidon (clandestine services), Mee-ant (powerful grandpa type), Avela (bitter granddaughter to Mee-ant), Edien (clandestine head of department), Sheshka (Havely's love interest), Rishi (Raidon's wife), Nulesh (Havely's techy cousin), and Shyama (he makes clandestine services look like wimps).

1. Yacol and Havely are forced to roleplay out a verbal couple fight. Who gets to play the wife?
[Havely crosses arms, looks down on Yacol] Runt, talk like a woman.
[Yacol] You wish, smart aleck.
2. What's Havely's opinion on cheese?
[Havely blinks] You eat it. What's there to think about?
3. What would you do if you hadn't met Raidon?
Cried. No, seriously, cried. He's awesome.
4. What do you think of Sheshka?
Sweetheart for dealing with Havely as a boy toy. Patient. Hope she can keep from killing my character.
5. What would you do without Edien C.?
I'd be in trouble, but I'd live.
6. What would you do if you hadn't met Rishi?
I would have gone on, but Raidon cries at the idea.
7. How do your and Avela's talents add up?
She's brawn, I'm the brains. I tell her what to do, she does it. Sometimes.
8. Hot Shyama on Avela action - Yes/No?
Yes! Shyama's with me on this. Avela thinks he's disgusting so won't go near him.
9. Will Havely eat those green eggs and ham?
[Havely turns around with chipmunk face] Green?!
10. What do you think of Meeant?
He's an interesting guy. Sweet. Protector. Patient. Keeps Avela under control. Big tough teddy bear daddy type. Squeezable, unless he's in a bad mood.
11. What if you found out that Avela was secretly an alien plotting to take over the world together with Nulesh?
Response #1: You two know each other?!
12. If Yacol played in a movie, what kind of character would they play?
Sweet innocent kid who would swipe your wallet given the chance.
13. Would you open a mystery gift Nulesh just gave you, without much hesitation?
No problem. Granted, it's usually something boring. So hesitation from wondering what tech related thing she's got me now.
14. What if you found out that Meeant was secretly an alien plotting to take over the world together with Sheshka?
I would not be surprised. He's weird, she's techy. It works.
15. If Nulesh played in a movie, what kind of character would they play?
Brainiac. Sarcastic and techy. No kidding. Techy.
16. Who would you rather get stuck in handcuffs with, Meeant or Nulesh?
Meeant. He could get them off no problem.
17. If you could do anything with Sheshka, what would it be?
Talk. She's fun.
18. Is Avela your best friend?
Not really. I'll hang out with her, but she's mean to me.
19. Oh no, Raidon got kidnapped by aliens! What do you say once they get back?
Thanks for bringing him back! Hope he didn't kill too many in his escape attempt!
20. Shyama got turned into an animal! What animal is it?
Puppy. Only a puppy could enjoy a rubber ball like he does. But. . . a werewolf puppy. You know, that vicious tear someone's arm off thing.
21. If you could do anything with Raidon, what would it be?
LESSONS! He knows how to handle a sword. I'd want him to teach me.
22. What's your fondest memory of Havely?
[Havely looks around nervously] Nothing too good, to be honest. . .
23. Can Edien be bad influence?
Yes. He's a schemer, prankster, and been a part of clandestine services for too long.

So, to be honest, I put my exercise playlist on shuffle (78 on it) and got these thirty. To also be honest, I had to search a couple of the opening lines. And some of them I cut out the title. I gave no indication which ones I cut the title out of the line, and which I did. Good luck! I seriously doubt all of these will be discovered. Clue 1: the repeat artist number is really high.

Speaking of which, I have need of some help. And I'd prefer to hear back from all my watchers (I know who you are, by the way ) on this one. For my NaNoWriMo, I need some precedents to leech ideas from. So, I need some books to read to prepare for this.

I need a book about:
an undercover recovery mission (someone stealing something is good)
a good suspense, especially an escape book
a good example of action writing
and a Pursuit style book (hence my reading of The HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER)

They need not be good, recent, or even cover more than one of those necessities. I just need ideas.

And lastly, simply 'cause I can't stop thinking about it, what's with Katara's hair? It defies all laws of physics! I had long hair, for years. Long as in past-my-waist-for-about-five-years long while I was swimming. How in the world is her hair, when it's in a braid, longer than when it's loose?

Sorry, random discussion question. Mainly 'cause no one reads my journals...

Also, for those who sent me messages when I was gone, thanks so much! If I missed any of you in replying, forgive me, please, it was a lot of people to respond. I fear I might have missed one or two. So, know that it made my day (er, evening) and I appreciate it a lot. Now I'm back! I wrote a few more stories and drabbles in the midst of my busy life, so I have some interesting stuff.

And for some reason, after watching the latest episodes of Avatar, it hit me: we have never truly considered the possibility of Zuko/Suki. No joke, people, they have the same beginning relationship that Zuko and Katara have. He destroyed one village by running a ship into it, and he burned another's down.

The more I think of it, Zuko has a way with women. A way that will get him killed one day.

EDIT: Okay, I thought I ought to tell the world. I'm thinking about doing NaNoWriMo this year. The idea is that in November (30 days), you write a 50,000 word story. I have a basic idea, one I'm literally building from scratch (the only things that I had stored before hand in my mind that I'm putting in this story are two characters). The only issue is, I may need some help. I'm thinking about pounding all the story out, story boarding it like a cartoon (excepting the fact that I can't draw), and then when the time comes, I can just type away and not have to think about where the story is going.

Trouble is, the plot is very vague. Yes, I have a lot of time, but I might need some help. I'm thinking a sci-fi/fantasy (yes, I know the difference, and yes, I'm going to make the story BOTH) in the way of a Tom Clancy/Villian-a-Day-Action-Movie story. Yes, a style completely different from my own. Any tips on how to write that way would be appreciated. The best I can come up with is short sentences and constant thought flow in the writing of the main character, but that's not enough.

So. In other words, I need someone to bounce ideas off of. Any volunteers?

EDIT II: Okay, I have a random question. I had long hair. For years. As in, past my waist for five + years not including the years spent growing it. I know what happens when said hair goes into a braid.

So, why in the world does Katara's hair get shorter when it's out of a braid? It's against any and all laws of hair!

Blame my crazy, messed up mind if you want to blame anything. I'll still write Zutara, 'cause it's the more likely of these two pairings, but I am deeply in love with this second pairing, one that I have never seen before. NEVER. It probably helps that it is a cross-anime pairing. I mean, if someone can ship Kaoru and Kakashi, I can certainly ship these guys. Er, girl and guy.

Okay, I'm settled here. I have a long chapter fic in the works, two short stories that are brewing, and a huge project for school looming. Maybe I'm in over my head. I might disappear for a while, but I have not forgotten you all! I promise!

In other news, I'm better! Took my last pill last night and I'm all good. No more fever, cramps, nausea, di- I'm stopping there. You don't want to know all my dirty secrets.

I also seem to have burned my brains out of me, 'cause I managed to fry my shoulders and chest when I was walking around a little while ago. Aloe doesn't help either...

EDIT: I was digging around my computer and I found a document titled "pairing songs". I was curious, and I found a list of the songs that I thought fit each pairing. What I find funny is that of my three favorite pairings, only two were mentioned. Apparently the other onedidn't have good song to attach it to.

So, without further ado, my list of pairings and the songs that I think fit them best:

Kataang: Amazed by Lonestar (I remember hearing it only once, but I was caught)
Taang: Take me There by Rascal Flatts (It just fits them)
SokkaYue: More than a Memory by Garth Brooks (All about having issues forgetting a girl. That's them, alright)
