AHH.

I went to watch the London celebration in New Year's Eve - which means that I waited four hours to see a ten-minute fireworks display. It was overwhelming - truly the best celebration I've ever seen - but it was also kind of hard to stand still for four hours in a temperature of -1 degrees Celcius.

And the couple standing in front of us. They smoked about five packs of cigarettes, drank two bottles of wine, threw those bottles away on the street, and they were kissing and necking for four hours straight.

STUPID FUCKERS. I WAS SO ANGRY I ALMOST PUSHED THE GUY INTO THE FUCKING THAMES. THAT'D HAVE KNOCKED SOME FUCKING SENSE INTO HIS HEAD.

This is why I hate crowds. It's the first time I've ever seen London so unhinged. Everyone was throwing bottles around, hugging, kissing, smoking, pushing, and laughing. Laughing. It was the first time I seriously contemplated pushing those idiotic people into broken glass.

And the restaurants! I understand it was New Year's Eve. I understand that the biggest crowd ever was gathered in London and they all needed to be well fed. But seriously, could they get any ruder? My father and I waited forty minutes to be seated in the TGIF in Covent Garden. That was actually surprisingly quick - we were told that we'd be given a hour-and-half wait. But while we were waiting, I witnessed one of the most terrible customer services ever.

The phone rang, right? A blonde waitress answered it. The person on the other line seemed to be inquiring about reservations, as she started saying 'oh no, sorry, we're fully booked already-'.

But then, a dark-haired girl who was greeting the customers snatched the phone and slammed it back down without waiting for the blonde waitress to finish speaking to that person.

"I was in the middle of talking!" the blonde one says, aghast.

"I don't care! We're fully booked, what does it matter?" the dark-haired one answers while laughing her ass off.

Fucking bitch. If your restaurant is fully booked, you should actually be kinder to customers and at least have a short, polite conversation. Nobody's demanding anything better. I don't know what you think, but that customer's going to have to seek other alternatives in any other way possible. The very least you can do is to be polite. You could offer alternative restaurants (if you were being really understanding), but we understand not everyone can do that. But if you can't do anything about that situation, the very last thing you do is to slam the phone down while someone's talking. Especially if you're not even the one taking the call. I am disgusted that somebody qualified to deal with customers can treat them that way.

The person called again, by the way. This time the manager took it. But guess what, he didn't really care either. All of them were laughing. I had to resist the urge to stick a fork into their eyes. The other servers were rude, they rushed with our orders, and it was really unpleasant. We actually ate there before - this particular visit marks the third time that we've visited that TGIF. They managed to let us down the last two times due to poor service, yet we still were willing to give it a chance. But this time they went way too far.

We probably should have walked out. We couldn't, though, because we'd put our names down for the waiting list to be seated, and we had to be equipped with buzzers to alert us when our tables were available. But man, I really wish we had. It's the only thing related to eating in London that I've ever seriously regretted in my life. I'm never going to the Covent Garden TGIF again. They can rot in hell for all I care. The TGIF near the Prince Edward Theatre is so much better. And yes, I've been to both ones more than twice.

Some might say that I'm complaining way too much - after all, it was New Year's Eve, and waiters/waitresses are only human. They must be stressed. But that doesn't mean that they can hang up on a customer who genuinely wants to visit their restaurant and inquire politely about a reservation. It also doesn't mean that they can give us piss-poor service. I don't have anything against the entirety of the TGIF chain - it's just the Covent Garden one. Sure, we all have bad restaurant experiences due to a variety of reasons - and we usually shouldn't take it too much to heart - but damn, this went too far.

And so ends my first rant of the New Year. Joy.

You know the Virginia massacre? Where Cho-Seung-Hui shot dead 33 people in the USA's deadliest school shooting? Well, Koreans in the USA and England here seem to be treated with sudden suspicion. In Wednesday I had three counsellors in one day asking me if school was alright and if anyone was bullying me. They never met my eyes. It was like they thought I was going to come to school with a shotgun and kill everyone.


Cho-Seung-Hui killed people. I can understand that.

He was a Korean immigrant.

So bloody what?

What is the big deal? Just because a Korean screwed up doesn't mean we all have to treated like crap. In fact most Koreans are actually good and hardworking people. But no, a Korean shoots himself and dozens of people dead, and oh-em-gee, they all think we'll exterminate the whole human race. I read in the Korean news sites that a lot of Korean students over in the USA are actually coming back because they couldn't stand the way people were acting shrewd and suspicious over them. In fact, I have half a mind to leave England and go back too, because everyone acts extra careful around me and they joke around thinking I'm homicidal as well.

Well, I don't think it's funny. Just because George Bush doesn't care about Koreans doesn't mean the rest of the world has to shun us. Cho-Seung-Hui was a psycho. End of story. He's not the only one in the world, for ----'s sake. So wherever I go people look away and even move away from our family because we're Koreans, and it really is pissing me off.

And there's all this controversy about the guy copying stuff from the movie 'Oldboy'. Have they even watched the film? Anyone speaking and understanding Korean should know that Oldboy is more than just a violent film. It's much more deeper, more sad, and far more darker than non-Korean speakers can imagine. Oldboy cannot be understood properly if not heard in the original Korean. They just think Cho-Seung-Hui copied the poses.

But do they know why?

Do they actually care about how tormented he was? I don't think there is much attempt to understand him in the media. True, he did violent, horrific things that shocked everyone. He killed innocent people who did nothing to deserve death. He shamed Korea, to put it bluntly. He was a homicidal psycho, with mental problems. It doesn't mean all Koreans are.

Koreans are sensitive people. They have been for the five thousand years they've been on earth. And guess what, Mr George Bush, it doesn't matter if you hate our race because we all hate you too. We think this is grossly unfair.


This was a rant by a very angry Korean girl. I guess because that this is a very biased rant, I'll end up angering some people. Because whenever I open my mouth, someone gets angry.

I do not support Cho-Seung-Hui. I think he was a madman. I'm not saying every single American hates us, either. There are kind, wonderful people out there. But it has shocked me how a whole race gets blamed because one person screwed up. The way that my Korean friends, my family and some Koreans over in the USA are being treated is unfair to say the least.

Now I wait for people to say I'm being paranoid.

What the fuck is so bloody good about this fucking piece of crap known as High School Musical? I tried watching, and I swear it burned my eyes out.

The plot is so bloody cliched. I mean, how many times have that 'nerd meets sporty guy and falls in love and lives happily ever after' crap been done? It bores me to tears. Remember Grease? The musical? It's a ripoff, I tell you.

Plus, I looked in the official soundtrack site for musical/film songs. HSM got 3.5 out of 7. 3.5, what's that? That's fucking pathetic. Even the most cliched, boring musicals have at least 4. Grease had 4. West Side Story had 4.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's soundtracks ALL have 7!

CATS, POTO, Evita... they all had full marks, and positive comments everywhere! HSM? Flames. Flames everywhere.


Plus, may I mention the soundtrack was under 'Film'? HSM is only musical in name. Is a musical box a musical? Is musical talent a musical? Just because something says it's a musical doesn't automatically mean it's a theatre production composed mainly of song and dance.


Musicals are produced in theatres and stage first before they're even made into film. HSM's not even a musical, because it was a film before it was made into a stage production. I heard it's not that popular either.

So the people who like that stupid piece of shit are either stupid themselves, or they've been brainwashed, or they do not fully know what 'Musical' means. It's sad.


Disney is going rapidly downhill. Really. I thought they'd do better. The songs are boring and unoriginal, and the script is done poorly. If it really was about highschool, it should have drugs, sex and stupid crap in real life in it. And the villain should have gotten more bitchier and stubborn throughout the story, not weakening.

Fucking piece of shit.

Seriously. This is just crap in its worst form.

And I was frightened.

There was this story I read a few weeks ago that involved a girl getting weird text messeges on her mobile, and eventually she ends up in an abandoned butcher's shop, locked inside the room where they keep all the meat - along with a corpse, technically buried alive.

And you know what - I think that story stirred up the part in my mind that secretly fears death.

I'm young, and I'm in a very complicated position at the moment. My father is in Korea, and I have no ways to get hold of him except on weekends when he calls. If something happens to him my mother and I might have to go back to Korea, away from freedom, away from England back to my prison-like life.

And an even more unbearable thought - if something happens to my mother, that technically means I'm doomed. There's no one left to take care of me if that happens, and I'll be left alone, lost in a country where I'm treated as an immigrant. It doesn't bear thinking about.

But screw it, I am scared.

I wonder what happens if we die? I'm afraid of dying. I admit it. I shouldn't be thinking stuff like this, but.....

I'm especially scared of drowning in an ocean, and nobody finding me, and being lost for an eternity underneath the sea.

I can't swim. I'm afraid of drowning. It's become a phobia to me.

I don't know what to do. I'm even afraid to close my door to sleep now, because I keep thinking someone'll lock it from the outside and leave me to die.

Maybe I'm not as brave as many people think.

Hardly anyone, or anything, even, manages to scare me. I'm the girl who watched 'The Ring' with all lights out and with headphones connected to the TV (surround sound) on my ears, and I watched it without being scared or crying. I was eleven at the time.

But not being spooked out with horror movies don't necessarily mean you're brave. It might mean that you have a stronger stomach, probably, but it's not a test for bravery.

In that case, I'm downright cowardly in that sense.

Bleak, huh?

I just needed to rant. I don't want to be afraid anymore, y'know? So... screw it all, I needed to vent steam.

I don't want to agonize anymore about this. I'm sick of being tormented at night thinking about those images and being scared half to death.

I've always said I didn't fear darkness.

But now, with those things in my head, it seems that statement is untrue.

This comic is set in a completely OOC version of Lunatea where Emperor Jillius is a paranoid psycho [why is he here? Shouldn't he be ruling the Empire of Dreams?], Lolo is a hypotized weirdo [I mean... her EYES!!], Klonoa is a total idiot , A Moo is the postman of Breezegale, Guntz is a complete narcisst, and where Tetons and Boomies pop up all around the blooming place. Love it.


This comic is good for a laugh when people are feeling blue/depressed/suicidal/homicidal/etc.

2004, two years ago I came to England. It wasn't my first time I've been here, I came when I was five and when I was eight. I went to Year 3 here, and things weren't bad then.

I could be just happy.


But when I came to secondary school, that all changed.


Dorcan is a good place compared to the private school I was in back in Korea. There isn't anything wrong about the education; Some of the teachers were crap and you cannot find a decent pupil if you used a telescope to find them.

I'm only a normal pupil myself. I'm in top set for everything except PE. That's it.


So why is that people are so un-understanding?


Is it because of how I look, or my grades?


I can't help being clever. Anymore than I can help being Korean.
I'm personally proud to be Korean.


I'm pressured. My mother - I don't have my dad around - says to me that I must aim higher. That way I can improve my chances of getting a good education.

And what's more, we both know I'm capable of doing so.

But it's so awfully hard.

I was really upset when I got a level of 6.2 in the Geography test. I was aiming for at least seven. I cried all night.
Mother was very disappointed at me.

And I know she's right. I let myself down badly.

So I'm studying. I study all night long, and each day my fuse gets shorter.
I fear that one day I will throw a fit at school.

The people are no help whatsoever. Most of the library crew are, but still around eighty percent are horrible to me.

I'm talking about the eighty percent of my year group.

This sounds very unfair, I know. I don't even know a lot of people from the R&Ys.
But it hurts all the same.


Can they see?



Can they see how their jokes and the taunts have ruined my life?


Do they enjoy seeing me suffer?






I know perfectly well that the people tease me about pretty much everything.

WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO PICK ON ME ALL THE TIME?!

Just because I'm Korean doesn't mean that the English kids have a right to pick on me. And some people do it purely out of spite and racism.

What is the point of racism? We're all the same inside!

I'm a quiet person actually, except when I answer in class. Depending on which subject I'm talking about, I nearly always get the answer correct.

Now this is something pretty weird.
I like school, I like homework, and all that stuff(excluding the odd PE, no offence to the teachers).
But the kids in our school are simply just totally putting me off going to school.
Thank God there is a good library, and I got to make some very good friends.
If the entire school was like that, nice, organized, and QUIET FOR GOODNESS'S SAKE, it would be like, Heaven.

And when I answered all the questions in Music today(about the forte, mezzo forte, mezzo piano, piano, fortessimo, fortessissimo, pianissimo, pianississimo,etc), with all the basic dynamics, some people were like
"WTF YOU'RE SO CLEVER, YOU SHOW OFF ALL THE TIME, YOU ARE GOOD AT MATHS AND ALL THAT STUFF WE LEARN IN DORCAN TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, YOU ARE WEIRD, I MEAN WHO THE HELL WANTS TO STUDY FOR GOD'S SAKE, YOU'RE SUCH A BOFF, OMG HOW DARE YOU HAVE A LIFE."
