Yes it's my birthday (1st Feb) another year older and I think wiser...my wonderful daughter gave me a ticket to Rockwell so I will get to see KISS play live "yippy" the last time kiss played in New Zealand was 30 years ago and my best friend and I wanted to go but we were 13 and broke...30 years latter I'm still broke but thanks to my wonderful daughter this time I get to go...the really cool thing is she brought a ticket for her brother and herself as well so I get to share the experience with them.

My best friend ~PhoenixAura and her animation class have been working on an animation called "Vacant" about a guy who go's on a blind date and ends up in a very dirty toilet with a hostile alien...any way it took her class around 5-6 months of work and 4 people in my class did the compositing and sound effects including yours truly...to cut a long story short...the very first film competition it was entered into, it won...several Deviant Art artists worked on this award winning film including ~PhoenixAura ~ToonsInACan *ticktocker and me.

I've been watching several documentaries this past weekend and am shocked at the state of affairs this little planet is in if these documentaries are to be believed...It seems there are a number of nasty little men (and the odd woman) who want to control and in some cases exterminate us.

I highly recommend you get hold of these documentaries and make your mind up...the third one in the following list seems very credible and shocked me to my core...and all of them are very thought provoking.

Other news:
School is a little stressful at the moment...I'm learning a new program called Shake, it's a compositing tool...a bit like photo manipulation but with moving images...I guess the stress is not so much from "Shake" but the time table.

I'm teaching my daughter ~Jadie15 to drive at the moment and last week I got her on the motorway for the first time and she got up to 90 kmh...now you might think so what but I struggle to get her past 40 usually

Congratulations to South Africa on winning the Rugby World Cup...I'm looking forward to 2011 when New Zealand is hosting and we take it off you

OK...it seems I've been here for a year on the 19th of August and that go me to thinking about all the wonderful people I have meet over the past year and all the amazing art I have seen...So to celebrate the past magic twelve months on Deviant Art I have decided to hold the Flashies (sort of like the Oscars but for Art).

There will be seven Flashies awarded...King of Traditional, King of Digital, King of Photography, King of Literature, King of Craft, King of Stock & King of Photo Manipulation.

I have taken it upon myself to narrow the field to five people in each category and then it will be up to you the artists of Deviant Art to vote.

Just a quick note to say I'm sorry to all those people that have commented on my work over the past week and are wondering why I haven't responded...my Dad's best friend of 55 years died last week (Cancer) and I've been back home in Wanganui for the funeral and to spend a couple of days with my parents...I'm working my way through your comments now...thanks.

For the last 3 months I've had a bit of a break between finishing my Diploma in Multimedia and starting a Diploma in Video Post Production and so I've had pretty much 24/7 devotion to Deviant Art.

So as a result I've managed to create 35 new art works and I've had a ball...I would like to take the time to thank all my watchers and the many awesome stockers for the wild ride I've had this past three months.

My new Diploma course starts on the 28th May next Monday so I wont have as much time to devote to Deviant Art.
I all so have my children every second weekend and as a self enforced rule I devote all my attention to them when they are here.

But I love all my friends here and I love photographic manipulation so as time allows my gallery will continue to grow.

I just thought I would shear my favorite album with you guys...a little known American band who have an amazing sound.

CD: Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV

Alternative...but with a difference...it has a little bit of everything...at the beginning it starts with a sort of dream state classical music and beautifully changes to alternative rock and this happens many times on the album through different kinds of music seamlessly. It has a secret last track thats kinda modern hillbilly...it's just an awesome romp through music history and best of all no rap

The is back and I am looking for new background stock...my classes finished yesterday and I get my "Diploma of Multimedia" at our Graduation on the 31st of March.

I now have the next three months off before classes start again...then I will be into the study of "Video Post Production"...but untill then I can go mad on Deviant Art.

OK so seeing StudioVision has closed (sad day) I need to find a new stock background guru...someone who makes awesome 3D backgrounds...I know Shoofly-Stock makes awesome 3D backgrounds but I have a massive apatite for backgrounds...so I need more so if yo know of any please please please let me know.

OK so there seems to be a trend to show yourself on DA at the moment so I've done a new manipulation with me as "The First Zombie" it's all me but for the eyes...they came from =Shoofly-Stock because my own eyes are way to pretty to look like a zombie's.[link]

PINK PANTIE WORSHIP TIME
I found this joke @ 1ST--LADY ...It made me laugh out loud for some time...so I though I would sheer it with you...

Two women were talking about their lives since they had become Nursing Home Residents. They both agreed that life was good but one woman, Ethel, said she was rather upset because her sex life had really died out since she and her husband had come to the nursing home. The other woman said that her sex life was great!

"The secret to great sex is this," the woman told her, "when my husband is getting ready for bed, I get undressed, lay on the bed and put both legs behind my head. When he comes out and sees me like that he gets so excited, we have wild sex the rest of the night!"

Ethel says, "I'm going to try that tonight!" When Ethel's husband is getting ready in the bathroom that night, she takes off all her clothes. Although it's a struggle, she gets one leg up and behind her head. Pretty soon, she has the other leg behind her head as well. After accomplishing this great feat, Ethel falls backwards and can't move.

It's not too long before her husband comes out of the bathroom. With a shocked look on his face, her husband yells "For God's sake Ethel, comb your hair and put your teeth in, you look like an ass!"

Yes another year older (and some may say wiser) in ten days.
I kinda don't know what the hell to do with the rest of my life...it keeps ticking away and each year seems faster than the last. I'm studying video post latter this year (2007) and I finish my dip in multimedia in three weeks...I have a dip in Art Craft & Design and an Advanced Dip in Visual Arts as well as a Dip in Photography.
And in a years time I will have to get a real job...what can I do that uses all of the above

A couple of days ago a good friend sent me a link to trecman's page where a number of people where bagging StudioVision and the argument seemed very one sided to me...some people who hadn't even meet him were saying some nasty things...trecman himself had posted emails of a conversation between himself and StudioVision with his portion of the conversation left off...this seemed a little unfair to me so I left a message saying just that.
trecman then posted one of the emails complete as tho some how that proved his point...I then challenged him to post all of the emails complete or let the whole thing drop...however he choose to post one last message telling me to butt out and then banned me from posting anything one his site...I had planned to send him this last message (see below) but as I have been banned from his site I'm posting it here.
It seems anybody who disagrees with him has their messages collapsed and are banned.
I am more than happy to resolve this issue with trecman and no matter how unpleasant it may be for me I will never ban anyone from my site as I beleve in freedom of speach.

This would have been my last message to trecman:

You sound like an angry man...all I am saying is there seems to be a lot of Chris bashing going on...especially on this page and maybe life's to short for all this hostility...I don't understand why you are so angry...I'm sorry if I have offended you in some way but people are more important than a web site...chill bro.
