I am trying to organize my work here in dA lately. Now I found the time to group and upload a few new works.

The title of the project is "Double Exposures". People blending with their creations. I photographed a few friends in open environment (not studio) and then I rewinded the film and I photographed scenes around technical structures and buildings in the same frames. So the end result is a series of double exposures combining a portrait of some kind with a structure/industrial setting, interposing the man blended with his creations. Film used Kodachrome 64 slide.

I just realized that I turned 6 here in dA and it so happened that I passed the 60k pageviews...

Maybe I'm not so active, at least as active as I had been in previous years, maybe I could say a bitter thing or two about dA.

I just got back from a journey to the States; Miami, Florida to be more precise. My first time there (to the US in general). Quite nice I have to admit and more interestingly it gave me an opportunity to form my own opinion on several impressions or stereotypes. Some have been rejected, others have been affirmed and more. In the end, it feels great to be back.

Highlight of my trip, Cirque du Soleil's Kooza. Maybe one of the best performances I have ever attended. And swimming with the dolphins. That was unforgettable too.

I noticed that I have been on this website for 5 years now when I opened my front page. When I opened Message Center I also noticed that almost everyone from my early (and not so early) days of being here, is either gone or not really active (and I probably have to include myself on the not-so-active group).

I cannot really remember when it was the last time I updated this journal with something meaningful. Anyway, not enough time or mood. Don't know.

In May I participated to a photo exhibition with four of my photos. Since I had my photos properly scanned and processed, I thought it was a good idea to upload them here, updating my previous submissions. To add more juice, since for a change large quality digital files were at my hands, I also submitted them as prints.

I have been working with my new M645 Mamiya for about a month now. It is bulk, it is heavy and quite uncomfortable to handle and hold.

But who cares?

It is wonderful to look through its HUGE viewfinder. The heavy sound of the mirror is like sealing a moment. You can even feel the shaking of the image imprinted when you release the shutter. Not a kids toy. A *real* camera.

And my oh my... the film... the huge frames are magical to view. And to work with. Medium format 30x40 prints came out nice! :) Moving on to 35mm ones... :)
