So I've been pretty busy lately, multi tasking like a mo fo!

There was the new website [link] and then organising the Creative For A Second Art Tour [link] and I have my work in the latest issue of Blanket [link] awesome magazine, highly recommend the investment! And then I did a little illustration for the beautiful little project [link] I've also contributed to a magazine called Propaganda [link] I think my work will be up soonish. At the end of May I packed up my exhibition, which did pretty well, someone even wrote a blog about it! [link]

...and

... I've been getting organised to go overseas on Monday - eek! I'm flying out of this miserable cold weather and into the sunny days of San Francisco! Yay! My plan is to be in the states for at least 3 months, so if anyone has some local knowledge about cool things happening in SF, NYC, Portland (those are the confirmed destinations so far!) then let me know!

I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit and taking lots of photos and sketching and working on stuff for my next series of work. So things will be a bit quiet here for me on dA, but hopefully I will have lots of interesting things to upload when I get back... whenever that may be!

All are welcome to the opening, details are below!

Where does the mind go when we take most of the thinking out of creating and just let our hand guide us? All The Things She Thinks About is an exploration of this theme. Through the meditative process of repetition, various emotions, memories and obscure thoughts are explored. This body of work aims to bring about an awareness of the individual thought process and prompts us to consider the time we dedicate to reflection.

Opening night: Friday May 1, 6-9pm

Exhibition runs until Friday May 29, gallery open Thurs - Sun

Off The Kerb Gallery
66B Johnston St
Collingwood
3066

Can anyone give me some names of art schools/courses in New York city?

I'm loving living in the city at the moment (sometimes I prefer the tranquility of the country) and also have been thinking a lot about doing some further study that is more art based rather than design based. A friend is planning to move to NYC later in the year and I thought what better city to study art in than New York - I've always wanted to go and maybe now is the time... it's just a wee thought right now, probably won't happen (I don't think I can work there legally - so that would be an issue...) but I think I should look into it.

If anyone has any words of wisdom on this topic please share!

I'm not much of a journaler when it comes to the internet, but I thought I'd write about the current creative project that I'm running.

I am looking around for artists who suffer from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as CFIDS, ME and incorporating Fibro Myalgia) as I'm putting a book together - basically to illustrate the comfort many of us find in creating.

I've found many people from all over the place, quite a few from DeviantART, and the size of the book is growing at a steady rate.

Anyone with CFS can contribute. We want to include ALL work that is submitted because it's not a book about professional art, it's a book about how creativity helps sufferers cope, escape or just motivate.

If you're interested in contributing (art, photography, crafts, poetry, prose or anything creative), or know someone who would be interested check out the links below, or email me for more info.
[link]

We'll be collecting submissions until further notice (despite the original deadline of late January)
