Anyways, I've been so distracted with tons of stuff that I barely come on here. I'm working on a spy comic called "Perfect Agent" ([link]) from the creator of "Abandon", Greg Carter. ([link]) Plus, I've got another possible horror webcomic down the pipeline, Magic Of Wonder is still going as well as TONF. Oh, and Cookie Bear #1 is finally being ordered! Details ASAP.

- That Demetri Martin show is a funny thing on television right now. Especially last night's. My favorite one so far.

- I'm making it a point to read a chapter a day of the Watchmen TPB, so that when the movie comes out I get a better feel for it. I just wish it didn't take me this long to get back into it. I read the first part and didn't pick it back up for months. Typical. But yeah I hear different things and that they changed up some stuff so at least it'll be interesting to see what they did with it.

He'd often have them hidden throughout the pictures kind of like a puzzle, even adding the total number of "Ninas" next to his signature. I figured that'd be a neat little thing to try and take up on my own. For fun and skill!

Stuff Seen This Past Weekend (That I Can Recall At This Moment):

- lots of Jokers
- lots of people in cat ears and tails pinned to the ass of their pants
- an explicit scat dvd in a box of assorted Japanese pornos, which I tried to show to my sister the next day and couldn't find
- Pocky and Ramune as far as the eye can see
- Otaku Duck Duck Goose
- many many people with "Free Hugs" or "Glomp Me" signs


- There was a dude dressed as Slash at the Free Lunch table with us. I told him he was great in GNR, and that I was sorry that it didn't work out between Scott Weiland. He apparently colors comics, and quite well! I also heard there was a guy going around dressed as Ozzy, didn't see him though.

- Got to do another podcast interview, this time with Secret Identity Podcast. I think it went really well. I couldn't spell out my URL even with a card in front of me, but hey, that's the perks of live (at the time) audio! People watch figure skating to see people bust their ass on the ice, and people watch live broadcasts to hear people mess up or swear. Anyways, it was fun and I got to answer a lot of great questions. It's very informative. I gave myself a pat on the back for being on point that time.

- My publisher invited us all to his parents' pizza place/restaurant in Granby on Saturday. Very nice atmosphere. After the food was gone, the waitress brought out a slice of raspberry chocolate cake with a lit candle in it as everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me. That was so awesome of them to do that. Very nice surprise!

- Panel went well. I find that if I don't plan anything out, it works out better in my favor. I tend to be more spontaneous anyways, so go with whatcha know I guess! I felt more relaxed, and we had more time.

Female comic book creators, publishers, press relations and production people discuss role models in comic book stories and real life, and how that affects their creative and market decisions. The panel will be moderated by Rachel Kadushin (www.BestFriendsProductions.com).

- Walk 3 blocks to the venue by myself in the morning, with little directions
- And the next day after, get totally lost looking for a place that was 1 block down (but not too lost. I am an idiot savant!)
- Flipped off a cab driver, which was strangely liberating.
- Met , and got some drawings plus a picture. Super nice guy!
- Also met the editor in chief of King Features and thanked him for the nicest rejection letter I've ever gotten. He asked for the name of my strip, told him, he said it rang a bell. That was pretty flattering.

The TONF book I have planned is about 99.99999% done. It's getting some last minute tech spec finishing touches and will be released under the Free Lunch Comics banner.

Right now, there's just a lot of plotting and planning. I'm almost done with a short horror comic for one place, and about to gear up for the 2nd part of another full comic I've been commissioned for. I like being busy.

They're doing an all-female horror anthology, and I've got tons of ideas stored away. But which one to choose? Looks like I'm gonna have to decide through a rigorous process involving "Eeenie Meenie Miney Mo".

A few weeks ago I went to the Big Apple Con. Highlights included:

- seeing Val Kilmer from a distance and being denied candid photos

- seeing Hayden Panettiere from a distance chewing gum at a signing table

- advanced tickets for Sears Portrait Studio like photos with Panettiere and/or Kristin Bell

- sharing an elevator and escalator with stormtroopers

- almost buying vintage porn as a joke gift for my sister at christmas time

- bootlegs of anything and everything. They had one for The State at $45, there was even one of the Whitest Kids U Know's YouTube stuff.

- receiving a fantastic Cookie Bear rendering from Lauren Monardo [link]

- comparing C&H tattoos with Stephen Lindsay, creator of "Jesus Hates Zombies" [link]

- eating Roy Rogers chicken for the first time in 7 years

- crazy people on the street

- finding a wooden Star Of David on the sidewalk on our way up

- making creepy heavy breathing/zombie noises to annoy my sis on our way back

Anyways yeah.

- I just started working on a new comic collaboration. So far so good! And I'm pretty much done with this recent Cookie Bear storyline, it just needs a cover. I have a couple more ideas for exciting new adventures for them. One involves Horsie Mare and a beauty pageant. The other, a grumpy frog and how CB and Co. try to cheer him up. TONF will further delve into soap opera addiction at the moment.

- iTunes keeps wanting to update, and then when it tries, it conks out and says there's an error. It's been like this for a couple of weeks now. It is akin to a little kid putting on a towel as a cape, shouting "LOOK AT ME I'M SUPERMAN", and running head on into a tree. Repeatedly.

- Rasslin': If Save_Us.222 does not turn out to be this man [link] , I will stop watching Raw and switch to "Heroes" full time instead. Kristin Bell's supposed to be showing up soon anyways.

Oh, and OMGZ SAW IV next week.

- Until last week, my sister had yet to see the infamous "Chocolate Rain" video. And stopped it at about 0:23, right where he moves away from the mic to breathe in. I don't think she's a fan.

- Electroma is indeed, a weird, weird movie. But that's what's so great about it. I wouldn't expect anything less from French dudes that dress up like robots.

- The "Bold Brave Bunny" storyline is coming along slowly but surely. I either got lazy or sidetracked with other stuff. Like my latest creation, Cookie Bear! He's a fun loving bear that enjoys cookies! Along with his pals Jakey Snake and Punk Rock Bird, they have amazing expletive laced adventures. I had too much fun writing and drawing the "Secret Family Recipe" story. Up next is "Cookie Bear and the Grumpy Frog".

Hostel II: Gross, disgusting, hilarious. There's no better ending than having little kids play soccer with a disembodied head. (spoiler alert!)
I think I actually liked this one a little more than the first. Love love LOVED the epic Eastern European music in it. I hope they have a soundtrack for this one. I still gotta find out what those cheesy disco songs were in the first one. I hoped to see a "Saw 4" teaser in front of this, but no dice. Instead, I get some shitty Dane Cook vehicle and Live Free Or Die Hard. Yeah, yeah, yippie ki yay whatthefuckever.

Knocked Up: Amazingly funny, more so than I thought it would be. Hearing Ryan Seacrest and Harry Osborn from the Spiderman movies drop F-bombs somehow leaves me with a sense of completion. This movie will probably be quoted in icons for months to come.

Oh yeah, I had to sit through the Die Hard thing again for this. And at one point, the film temporarily broke during that Adam Sandler trailer and the sound slowed down, to which I responded "Best trailer ever".

- If I close my eyes during that new Maroon 5 video and pretend it's the Doobie Brothers, I feel less bad about liking the song.

- It must be a cool new trend now to just go into the supermarket and open up products to "sample". I saw a package of Thomas' cornbread cakes that were supposed to come in a pack of 6; two were missing. Later I found an open bag of Ritz chips. "Hey guys, I love eating food off the shelf that I don't plan to buy because I'm a giant douchewizard!"


Films Recently Viewed:

Spiderman 3 - Hilarious. When he's all cracked out on the symbiote suit, he looks like the singer from Bright Eyes. I couldn't help but giggle. Tara told me to shut up, but didn't elbow me in the ribs like I thought she would. Sandman's effects were great, and Venom looks and sounds no different from anybody I've ever seen on the line at Old Navy. Although Saturday Night Fever Emo Spidey was pretty funny.

Recently Viewed Stuff From Netflix:

Menudo: Video Explosion - Every bit as awesome as you think it is. It's just them in concert though, no actual music videos. At one point one of them waves to the audience exactly like Casey from Uncle Muscles' Hour: [link]

Oh, and they covered Wham! How the universe didn't implode on itself then and there is still unexplained phenomena.

Kal Ho Naa Ho - It was okay, pretty much on par with Bollywood standards. I watched half of it though, I couldn't sit through 3 hours of it at the time. Best part out of what I watched: [link]

Lady Vengeance - Good stuff. Very bizarre and disturbing. Now I gotta see the first one in the Vengeance series. I'm watching them all out of order.

Points To Ponder:

Christina Aguilera's song and video for "Candy Man" would probably be a lot better if it was about the 1992 film of the same name, starring Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen. Then again, most music videos these days could use more bees and hook hands.
