I am writing a paper about the serial comma. Serial commas eliminate potential ambiguity and their omission confers no benefit in sentences. It is nearly standard use in American English, but much less common in British English.

I am, unfortunately, not good at writing down what I am thinking. The thoughts in my head usually get jumbled and become confusing rather quickly. I just do not know how to focus my ideas to produce sentences about the topic at hand. Rather frustrating I know.

Let's discuss the serial comma here and help get my mojo flowing.

Usually my journal and posts are pointless and about silly things but this time I come totally serious asking for aid.

During the month of July it would greatly benefit me to go to an Art workshop in San Francisco. The only problem is money costs. The Workshop is a refundable 225 dollars. All I would have to pay is that and also somewhere along the lines of 550-600 dollars for a round trip plane ticket from, as most of you know I live in New Jersey.

A big problem is that the workshop invited me really last minute seeing as I have to be in California on July 6th.

So in order to convince my parents to let me have this amazing opportunity and show that I am at least a little bit responsible I wanted to try and pay off as much as I could of the debts.
They are still on the fence about me going and this workshop can help me so much in the future and I really do not want to miss out.

This is where I need all of your help.

I am opening up commissions right now for all of you.
Whatever you want be it a simple sketch for 5 bucks, or a full out cg with background. All prices can be worked out.
I am willing to bend a lot here but just remember I am trying to collect as much as I can towards 800+ dollars...

If you just want to help out that would be great, like donate a dollar or even 50 cents or more i dont know

It would be such a shame if I couldn't go, shit I can even hang out with some of you who live in cali when i go!

So anyways I think it was "Sorry you're not a winner" that they started to play when all of the sudden the singer, Rou Reynolds, climbed off the stage and started to go over the gate that separated us. Dan and I were the lucky homies that happened to be standing in the front when Rou did that so as Rou climbed the gate he was using Dans head to keep himself from falling and I was like entangled between his legs
his crotch staring me dead in the face
a million hands to my left and right trying to keep rou from falling over
and what did I decide to do?

Reach out my hand and support his crotch area from falling over,
it was the most amazing minute of crotch touching ever.
I am a fucking creeper but it was so worth it!

I saw: Billy Talent, The sounds, Sum 41, Hollywood Undead (who were amazing), No Doubt, Taking Back Sunday, Suicide Silence, a Day to Remember, The acacia Strain, enter shikari (of course) and more i forget haha

but hey what can you do?
the only thing not great about this weekend so far was that frank got a ticket for driving past midnight, fuck

The literature I chose to analyize were the haiku variations of "the short night" by Yosa Buson. Kimiko Hahn was a japanese poet. He was and still is very famous to this very day for his literature. He was born in 1716 and composed haikus around the 1740's. He not only was a very skilled haiku poet but he was also an accomplished painter.
Yosa Buson created a compilation of haikus, around 11 or so, that all started with the line "the short night". When you read all of the haikus separately they don't seem to be about anything too in particular, when it comes to meaning that is. However I found that if you read "the short night"'s haikus close to each other then the meaning that I gather from them is how there are so many different things happening like "on the outskirts of the village, a small shop opening." and "patrolmen, washing in the river." and etc and all of these things are going on at the same time on this "short night". Regardless of the fact that that night doesn't seem to have took that much time there were many things accomplished within it as the haikus seem to say.

For as long as we have known about the past we can always associate some sort of religion, spiritual belief, or ritual behaviors to it. In prehistoric times, before there was such thing as writing, there have been many cases or findings of ritualistic, or religious, behavior, the farthest one dating back was in Africa at around 70,000 years ago. Why, however, is the question of how the human society feels a need to have religion in the first place. People are curious and scared creatures. They want to know what happens and why it happens and if they can not produce


such an answer it can be pretty frightening. They fear the unknown. Humans, since the beginning of religions' exsistence, have used religion as a reason to explain un-explainable events or things. Humans have evolved to form a very large brain, which we use in order to make sense of the world about us. Insecurity in the unknown is only a natural result of having a brain that is powerful enough to form solid judgment, but not nearly powerful enough to be all knowing. Religion takes the burden of needing to know everything off of society's shoulders while arranging a means of explaining things that create insecurity.
Humans feel the need to create gods to satisfy their very primal need of protection. Humans are frightful of things that are not within their knowledge such as death and the unexplainable phenomena. Society has, for a very long time, anthropomorphized nature. Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics to non-human creatures and beings, natural and supernatural phenomena, material states and objects or abstract concepts.
Ten thousand years ago the sun was recognized to be the giver of life. It allowed crops to grow and man to live without the coldness of night. 3000 b.c. the Egyptians had the Sun God, Horus. He was the personified version of the sun. The egyptians explained that the reason the sun went down at night and came back up in the morning was because everyday Horus, who was light, would battle against the god Set, who was darkness. Set would defeat Horus everyday to create night, only to be defeated a little later on by Horus to create a new morning. Society has always needed Religion or spiritual figures in order to live, in order to answer those questions that they just can not. Thousands of years ago people did not know the knowledge's that we know today such as wind. Wind is what happens when there is an uneven balance of areas with high air pressure and areas with low air pressure. The air is always cool or heated in different places due to many different possibilities. Areas with a large amount of air pressure or difference in air pressure will cause a varying difference of how strong the wind will be. since years ago they did not know of such information and had no real explanation for why it happened they come up with gods that were used as an explanation, such as a wind god, or etc. Even Germs and diseases were explained by devils and evil or bad entities. Gods like wind gods or rain gods now have explanations other than hiding behind their god names as to why they exsist and our new found knowledge and discoveries explain them, so explainable gods are no longer needed.
In the past people needed a direction in life. They didn't know what to do so they had to rely on what they provided for themselves with their religion. It was a guide for them it was used to help them along. To show them what was right and what was wrong. It was a way of living. The human society loves to turn to religion the most when they can not believe in themselves. Dark times, like the plague and the Great Depression, in history or even just dark times in people's lives where they question their existence or are curious about what will happen when they die. There are many religions which console people with thoughts of heaven, with thoughts that they will be taken care of after their death and they will not just bluntly cease to exist, religions offer comfort. Nowadays it seems that there are a lot of cases in which people need a god or religion to blame for their life or events in their life when they them self can not handle taking the responsibility for them. Religion helps humans to relieve the stress of accepting personal accountability. Religion does tend to answer some hard question.
