yeah...... wow. lessee, how short can i make a summary of the past 8 months?

ah, i know! the perfect example of what my life has been this year: a shojo manga. especially in the twisted, crazy romances department. throw in a few unpleasant family issues and school stress, and you have my past eight months.

but yeah, i had no idea it had been so long! and it's not like i haven't been drawing and writing or anything.... i just haven't submitted! Okay, i've mostly been writing, thanks to my art class taking away all my artistic passion. but i'm going to do my best to get it back!

speaking of finished, unsubmitted art.... hey, reed! you know how your birthday was back in september? yeah..... i made you a present! it's really badass! really really! but i wanted to color it in some way.... which is why i finished it seven months ago and you still have yet to see it. *hangs head in shame*

Um.... so yes, i'm going to not disappear again! Considering school is 9 days away from being over, i think i can do that! i'm going to submit stuff i haven't submitted- i have lots of stories i've worked on!!! Also, i'm doing the 100 theme challenge which i'll put on a separate journal so you don't have to stare at this typical excuses excuses journal for very long!

is it just me or is time moving über fast???

it's like, the more free time i have, the more there is to fill it with!!!!

[WARNING. long rant ahead. feel free to skip to the end!]

liek, i have SO much reading to do, especially in my poetry class. and i'm supposed to be writing poems!!! i can't write poems!!!! and i have to buy supplies for my art classes, and i have to read my literature book, which strongly resembles a dictionary by the way, and i have to call people whose numbers i do not have and make appointments before i go home in two weeks! i still have to buy that book that my poetry teacher want us to buy, which must be bought on amazon BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF PRINT. what kind of teacher forces his students to buy an out of print book???? and the figure drawing class is at the same time as anime club!!!! and i still haven't decided if i'm going to be a model... i'm pretty sure i'll be keeping my clothes though. and i don't know how the stupid appalcart works!!!! how the heck am i supposed to get to artmart????
not to mention i still haven't begun my sequal to the last time i was in story and i haven't worked on my Takes sequel either!!! and i have books that i borrowed from people i haven't read yet and anime i borrowed from people i haven't watched yet! and do you know that i STILL haven't done that freesketch from leik, a bazillion years ago???? no, i have not forgotten!!! maybe i should, i'd be less stressed! and i have so many plans for pictures that i want to do if only i could figure out how to work photoshop! aaaah, speaking of art, what if i don't get into the art department!!! what will i do???
omg, and i still have to print out those pictures and send them to my friend in california. i was going to write her a letter!!! and i have to send my dad a letter too!!! ooops!!! and i still want to do that 100 themes thing! like i have time for that! and i still have 402 deviations in my inbox! and there's so many of hoodedpeanutpire's and hitotsuboshi's stories and poems i want to read! aaaaaah!
AND IT'S STILL HOT OUTSIDE.

also, i just finished Stephenie Meyer's third book Eclipse. OMG. i SO LOVE THOSE BOOKS. VAMPIRES ARE SO AWESOME. ESPECIALLY EDWARD. has anyone read the twilight series??? omg, if you have, fangirl with me plzzzz!

i went on a manga shopping spree last time last weekend when i went back home because we don't have a barnes and noble in boone. haha! i bought 7 volumes!!!

by the way, i have a slight case of bronchitus. *hacks up a lung and a half* makes breathing difficult! haha! but i'm taking giant red pills three times a day (i swear they look like the red pill from the matrix O.o) so i should be better soon, right?

oooh, and to the best part of my life right now: i'm writing a story! it just came to me. in fact, it's still just coming to me! practically sentence by sentence! i don't even know what's going to happen next! it's a little nerve-wracking, really! anyways, once i write a little more and get a little more comfortable with the background and discover some kind of plot, i'll submit it!! kguys??

i moved in today. it's so exciting. and a little scary! and very sad... i had to say good bye to my dearest friend today. she's going to college in california so i won't see her again until december. it's really hard.

and it's scary too. i so worried that i'll either have too much stuff or too little! and what if i don't get along with my roommate? she seems nice, but she listens to country music... *gags*

the other people on my floor- they call it 'the penthouse' cause it's the highest- seem nice but it was a little overwhelming. i am bit of an introvert and about five friends is really all i need (at most), so i sort of acted like a turtle crawling into its shell.

i have a feeling i'm going to be quite the nerd. what i'm most excited about is going to class, learning new things, studying, taking art classes, and things like that. of course i'm psyched about the whole college experience in general. especially since there's oodles of stories, webcomics, etc. all set in college campuses. i'm such a dork! (big surprise there ) also, college is when all comic writers and artists get their big start. i'm hoping for the same!

but there is a bad thing. it's really hot. i don't like hot. it makes me irritable, mean, and not nice or friendly in general. much like an angry snapping turtle (to keep with the analogy). so it needs to get colder else my first experience of college be tainted by hate of that wretched sun. only knowledge that the cold of the appalachian mountains is often harsh enough to send students back home to their mothers is enough to keep me going.

tomorrow is orientation. i find out my classes and who knows what else. and as for the day after that and the day following that one, i have no earthly idea. it's a frightening realization.

so as you can see, things will be a bit busy and stressful for me for the next few days. i apologize for not answering your kind (or vicious) comments yet, and i shall get to them as soon as i can and respond with the utmost of thought and care.

i've been busily plotting my possible-future-comic. i finally thought of a name for the elf, but his personality needs help. the twins are all set and so are rhyll and raine, but my lovely villian needs a name. his past and personality are all set though.
oh yeah. and the title. i have no title. with out a title i can't even sketch out the ideas i've got so far. *sigh*
hmmm.
i guess it'll hit me.


and also, i guess my plot is a little vague. but that's okay i guess. maybe it's better to start off vague. hmmmmm.

Gosh, I really disappeared didn't I? I apologize profusely for that.


So. Short summary of the happenings in my life during my absence:

I got a job at the movie theater! Exciting, n'est pas? Yeah, it's still work, and yeah, it can be pretty boring. But! I get to watch movies for free!! woohoo!!!

I went to the beach for a week. I got sunburned. Just got back today.

I applied to Appalachian's Art Department. Sent in my portfolio. Boy, did I have a scare with that. At first, they couldn't open my disc, and i was afraid they were going to throw out my application. Technically, if they can't open the disc, they're not even supposed to call you or anything. Just toss it. Bless the lady who got my application, cause she actually called me and told me. The problem was that the disk was a DVD not a CD (my art teacher was the one who made the disk for me. I'm greatful of course, but..... well. It was quite a scare.) Anywho, we figured it out and everything turned out fine. Now i only have to worry about whether or not i get accepted.....


But I have returned. And I have lotsa art to upload. Yay! So i better get uploading! Sayonara!

Oh, and i PROMISE not to disappear again. ....For at least until the summer is over.

we'll be moving from our 3-bedroom, 3-bath, fairly decent sized house to a two bedroom apartment. we've been in the process for a while, but the movers are coming tomorrow to fetch the furniture [so the past few days have been spent boxing all my belongings].

Needless to say, it will be quite a hectic day. All my friends [and their friends, from the sounds of it] will be coming to help, so i'm sure it won't be too bad. except that i'm the kind of person who enjoys time spent alone, reading or drawing or deviantart-ing... my introvertedness will just have to deal i supose.

anywhoo... wish me luck that nothing will break or get lost or stolen or burned or decomposed or any other various freak accidents that could happen tomorrow. [and that i will not snap ] hey, maybe i'll take some snapshots of the new apartment when we get it set up. who knows.

Her writing makes you wonder how people like Samuel Beckett and James Joyce became such classic writers instead of her. I suppose she just hasn't been around long enough to be called a classic writer. Well. In my personal opinion, she so beats them. So if you haven't read everything she's ever written yet, get to it. Start with Black Box (chapter 1) then read Cinnamon. Then tell her to write more. Because that's all she's got in her gallery. While your waiting for her to write more, you can always check out all her art, which also happens to be amazing. (some people have all the talent...)

Also, in case you haven't heard, :devhitotsubosh: rocks. Not only is she unbelievably sweet and nice and funny, she's also a kickass writer. Her poetry will make you experience a rainbow of emotions (rainbow?) all at once. And this is coming from someone who happens to be about as emotional as your average rock. [well, okay. your average rock with mood swings.] Nearly every poem i've read of hers makes me want to draw pictures, because her poetry is simply oozing with creativity and imagery and artistic stuff like that. So i have several new victims to add to my harem of hot anime boys.

1. Luffy rocks. he is so cool! I mean, i've always liked Sanji and Zolo of course, but it wasn't until i started reading the manga that i came to fully appreciate the awesomeness of Luffy. And i think the lolipop subtitution for a cigarette in the american dub of the anime is pathetic. The internet is a wonderful place. yay for fan translations! Man, once i started reading i was HOOKED. I think i read from chapter 100 to chapter 430 (or whatever the latest chapter is) in about a week.
But hey, sometimes you got to sacrifice sleep for good manga/anime!

2. DESERT PUNK. this is an anime you should watch! [although the language is quite consistanly foul and there is a surplus of boobs thhroughout... just to warn you.] My cousin (whom i share a birthday with ) was the one who introduced it to me. i was shocked i had never heard of such an awesome anime!

3. Prince of Tennis. aka, my current obsession. i so heart this show. but! only the english sub. the dub sucks. (in my humble opinion) So at first, i figured this would be a stupid show, because, i mean, it's called 'prince of tennis'. but i was so wrong!!!! Ryoma, Fuji, Tezuka, Kikumaru. LOVE! i don't know who i like best. it's sort of like the saiyuki boys- my favorite sort of cycles. But if i had to pick, i'd say Ryoma and Fuji are my top favs. But i love them all! Yay for tenipuri!
It's kind of pathetic. the only exposure i have to sports is sport manga and anime. it's kind of odd that i'd like them, because i'm not a very sporty person, but i've read many that i like. hmm.

well, it's lunch time and i can't seem to rant about anime (no matter how awesome!) on an empty stomache. so i'll display more anime affection later! ciao!

[there definitely needs to be a :frolic: emoticon. how sad.] it was then i realized i could not stop! life turned into an endless frolic! i found myself frolicing down to the beach! a weekend of relaxation then turned into a week when our car broke down on the way there! (true story, dat) when i finally found the STRENGTH from within and the WILL to overpower the frolic that had usurped my life, i found i had and an overwhelming amount of messages awaiting me here on DA. and SO ends my TRAGIC tale of WOE. (you may applaude now. )
on the plus side, i've gotten the number down to around 500. so fear not, i shall leave you comments eventually.

- a prom dress (it's vintage! )
- accessories to go with said prom dress
- a sketch of some random cat girl i drew in the car

- a sunburn
- salt water taffy that was meant as a souvenir for a friend (i ended up eating it all )
- a pair of rainbows (yay! i finally got some! )

the beach was fun. i swam. i laid out in the sun. i ate fish. my friend and i only got hit on a couple times- once by a drunk fellow asking us if we were over 21 so we could buy alcohol for him. apparently he was loosing his buzz. he still wasn't sober enough to realize we were only in high school, though obviously.

So that is the end of kizuna's beach tales. i'll upload the cat girl who i think i shall dub "Kali" later. She is not being cooperative, so i'll need some suggestions before i finish her. when i do finish the scetch i think i'll use it to experiment with photoshop (inking and coloring etc.)

1. my school has installed a new blocker and i can't get onto my messages place. i can't search either. basically i can go to deviant art home page. sonicwall sucks.
2. my parents are psychotic. that basically covers all issues in my life. my psychotic parents. this time they think that deviant art is causing me to "lose focus from my studies." i gave them my report card today and i got a "is this the best you can do?" also, my favorite book series- the anita blake vampire hunter novels by Laurell K Hamilton- they called it a "foot hold for sin" and asked me if there was anything i did that was "uplifting." ah, makes me look forward to college, but then i start thinking about all the stress that goes with that and picking one. oops, better stop ranting before this turns completely into an emo journal.

oh, and is underappreciated too. i mean, come on! it's the yakuza! what's cooler than that?!? okay, maybe zombie yakuza would be cooler. that would be absolutely.... well, i'm at a loss for words to describe the awesomeness of what that would be. it'd be tres chouette for sure, dude.

Speaking of ninjas, in math today there was a great battle. that's right. a battle of ninja vs. pirate. This battle took place in my notebook.

Captain Stiltman stood proudly upon his two wooden peg legs in his expensive suit, lots of money in his pockets and a cell phone upon his belt, the hands free device currently in his ear.

THEN, the appearance of.... ROBO-NINJA! actually, robo-ninja mini me came first. [my friend sitting next to me tried to draw the fabled robo-ninja, but the creation ended up being a bit vertically challenged... it looked like square bug.] Robo-Ninja was a metal man with a katana for a right hand and a chainsaw for a left. Ninja stars (what're those called again? ah yes, shirikin) shoot out of his metal chest and he glared out of his dark ninja mask at the pirate previously mentioned. He was fearsome indeed.

At first glance the pirate seemed quite outmatched. Robo-Ninja was equipped with a terrible arsonal and the captain only seemed to posess various deformities- eye patch, two peg legs, etc. however, that was when the Cap't pulled out his remote and pressed the feared...OFF BUTTON! not only that, ROBO-NINJA was attacked from both sides, BETRAYED by his side-kick Robo-Ninja Mini Me!

Robo-Ninja Mini Me attacked from behind with his army of mercinary screw drivers. That's right, Robo-Ninja Mini Me accepted the offer of a position as First Mate under Capt Stiltman if he would get rid of Robo-Ninja.

And so, Robo-Ninja was magically transformed into a scrap heap and First Mate Robo-Ninja Mini Me lived happily ever after under the command of Captain Stiltman.... until he got a better offer.

I got to see this picture in person and the detail is amazing. She just used colored pencil and i SWEAR it looks just like a photo. When she was working on it, i at first thought the half that was done was a magazine picture she was copying from. I was planning on doing as many unlucky things as i could to celebrate, but all i managed was spill salt and cross a black (and white...) cat's path. If i can find a mirror to break i'll do that too. Yay for superstitious-ness!

I read death note vol. 1 today. the worst part was, the barnes and noble people told me they HAD IT, but they DIDN'T. i was LIED TO!!!!! T.T *weeps dramatically* well, i'm gonna go read saiyuki reload vol. 2 that i also got today. yay.
