Still no word on my kitty Nero. I've plastered our neighborhood with posters offering a $100.00 reward and still nothing. Just the occasional prank call.

We've been looking all over and putting up posters offering a reward. I talked to one of my neighbors and she said about 3 years ago her black cat got outside and she never saw him again and he was even micro-chipped! I live in a, well lets just say a "colorful" neighborhood, and I'm thinking someone close by us practices Santeria, in which they need a black cat for many of their rituals. So the thought of my kitty being killed is just torturing me! I know she's just a cat to everyone else but she is a part of our family and she is very loved! I'm sick over this as is everyone else in my family. So PLEASE if you have a cat take it inside, as Samhain (Halloween) approaches the demand for sacrificial animals will increase and are sold for top dollar, especially black cats. You can even find black cat parts being sold on the internet! It's sickening!! As a matter of fact pounds don't adopt out any black cats for the entire month of October for this very reason. What the fuck is wrong with people?

The camping trip was uneventful, no good photo's not even a nice sunset! But the water was amazing! After we set up camp I was just dying to take a swim, it was so cool and refreshing, it was the highlight of my trip.

I'm currently nursing a broken foot, it's no fun but what can ya do right? Life is what it is, a bitch! I'm going to a Melissa Etheridge concert this weekend, I'm looking forward to it, just not the company I am going with! But I will enjoy it regardless!

The harvest season closes, the days grow darker and winter is initiated. The Goddess enters her time of sleep and dreaming. The god (the Sun) awaits rebirth. Samhain is a witches' New Year, both solemn and joyous, the night when the veil between the worlds is thinnest. It can be celebrated in high revelry, with costume parties and witches balls or solemnly, as i night for honoring ancestors and contacting departed loved ones.... This is the meaning of Halloween. I am both excited and nervous since this is my first Halloween celebration as a Wiccan. I have been invited to a celebration, not sure if I will accept or not. SO what is everyone doing for Halloween? What are you going to dress as?
I wanna know!

Well if you know me you know that I don't care for small towns. It gives me way to much time on my hands which leads to too much thinking. So its been a constant task for me to find things that occupy my time. A friend from Texas is moving here, infact they left a couple days ago and are due to arrive this afternoon. So at least I will have someone to hang with. Its such a LONG drive from the Dallas area to northern Virginia. And such a change.
