I'm in the process of closing down this account and I shall be transfering most of my pieces to my new account and increasing the number of pieces available as prints.

My new account is at [link] so if anyone would like to add it to their watch list I would be very happy indeed. There's not a lot (ie nothing) uploaded to the new account at present but I should have everything sorted out in the next few weeks.

Well, my previous hassle with hard-drives is now solved.
I can now listen to my music knowing that it's being safely cared for by my Mac and my diabolical PC is now relegated to general browsing and rendering. If I could afford a Mac Pro I'd throw the PC in the bin...seriously!

Anyway I've got another problem now, I intend to change my username and as there is no easy way to do this I'll have to open a new account and then transfer my subscriptions and all my pictures manually. I'll keep posting progress on this issue and let everyone know how wants to give a devwatch on my new account.

Piece of f****** s***!!!

The cause: My mp3 library is creaking at the seams on its partition so I got a external LaCie firewire 250Gb. Except it didn't come with a power supply and the LaCie site only takes credit cards (I refuse to own one).
The local stockist are waiting for a delivery of aforementioned power supplies so I can't transfer the library until I get one.

The situation: This morning I was using Photoshop to add a frame to a render for uploading whilst listening to some tunes. The PC gets confused and doesn't know whether to focus on playing the mp3 or saving the jpeg and crashes in spectacular fashion whilst making glitch remixes of my music collection.

The tedious nightmare: When I boot the PC I get a chkdsk master file table error on the partition and there's not enough space to rewrite it. Bas****!!!!!!

I hope to work some magic once I've found the original boot disc. It's is the spare room. Somewhere. :¬/

There's only postcards of most of them until I find the original files then I'll upload them and have larger sizes available.

I hate Windows, it's a stinking pile of poo.
I had just got to the end of a 43 hour render in Apophysis and it was saving the image when my bloody PC crashed! 43 hours wasted!!!!
Why can't there be a version of Apo for the Mac? Maybe there'll be a way of getting it to work on the Intel Mac? Not that I can afford one mind!

I've found a hopeful HD for spares, next comes a crash (pun intended) course in HD repair and the recovery of my work. The lesson here is, don't use IBM/Hitachi DeskStar hard drives, they don't call them DeathStars for nothing. If you have one, I recommend you buy a new drive and transfer your data across to it asap. Hopefully more work coming soon. ;¬)

I lost one of my HDs, I didn't get everything backed up in time. I've lost most of my Apophysis files and a lot of high resolution images. If anyone has/knows of an old IBM Deskstar 60gb HD that is not being used I would like to get hold of the board from one so I can try to fire up my old drive and salvage some of it. I'm sad, angryand annoyed but hopeful. Thankyou for your time. :¬(

I have finally got my network up and running! It hasn't been easy but now it's stable and doing its job. I should be cutting my Bryce render times to a third/quarter of what they were, so will be able to clear the backlog of scenes that have been steadily building up in my work folder. These will be uploaded as and when they are completed. Hoorah! ;¬)
