I joined the Singapore Civil Defence Force, went through 6 months of fire and rescue training and am now a trained Firefighter and Rescuer.

I am taking a very long break from drawing manga because starting from September 9th, I'll be moving away from this country and start a new chapter of my life. It's going to be totally different life, one that I can never imagine without experiencing it first hand.

Anyway, I don't know how long exactly this break is going to be... It may go up to more than 2 years. I'll update my journal once I can confirm when can I continue with my manga.

Although Kreko has not published them yet, I've decided to upload the English version of the last 3 chapters (Phase 003-005) anyway, since I'm not going to have my computer with me later on.

しまった！！

When I looked up, I realised that I have accidentally spilled my Black Ink!!! ARGH!!!

DAMMIT!!! Almost all of the ink in the bottle was spilled! And the bottle is NEW!! WAAAAA~~~~~ 10 dollars disappeared just like that!!!

Anyone who has worked with Indian Ink before should know that they are such a pain to clean up if it gets on to your fingers.

Shit~!! I ruined my table! There's now one permanent huge blob of ink that is indelible unless I scrape the ink off.

What's more is the manga page that I was working on also received one Pacific Ocean sized ink blot right in the middle while I was trying to clean up the mess. ARGH!!! But I think that blot could be fixed... but it's a freakin tedious and messy job!!!!

What's left in the bottle is probably enough to ink 2 pages that I am currently working on... Aih, what a motivator killer... I should've been more careful...

Any tips?

It took DAMN LONG!!!

And I had to scan the page in two parts because the B4 sized paper wouldn't fit the scanner.

Then I tinkered with the scans in PS. As the file is really really big (I mean, half the page is already like 400MB in bmp format) it took very looooong to do even one step of editing. For example, to just turn the pic into Grayscale took like 3 mins!

I am not a very patient person when it comes to machine speed.

I later decided to fill in the speech bubbles and faked screen tones using a technique that I thought up last night. Then I printed the thing.

Wow.

It looked good for a first timer!

Except that the clipping on the edges makes the whole thing look bad...

And also it consumed a ton of ink...

About faking screen tones... If I want to fake them, that means I have to buy a new printer cartridge, which costs a bomb. If I don't want to fake them, I can buy them... but the grand total would probably be more than the cost of a printer cartridge...

Aih... What should I do?

I finally got myself a scanner~ A hp Deskjet F4185 scanner~ Now I can upload more stuff to dA. I plan to do tutorials on manga techniques. So stay tuned~
