Our usual pub had a western themed night, and I got to try riding a mechanical bull for the first time!
That was pretty terrifying. My arms and legs were really sore afterwards from trying to hold on.

I've also been trying to drink less when I go out, because:
• I become an asshole when I drink too much.
• I should be able to have fun in social situations without the need for liquid courage.
• Binge drinking just isn't healthy.

I usually just get coffee or OJ at pubs now.

I've got quite a lot of "No" votes... more than "Yes" votes now, and the ratio is getting worse...
"No" votes don't actually do anything (except hurt my feelings), but they could have been "Yes" votes.
According to Steam, the top 50 Greenlight games have on average 43,512 "Yes" votes, which is 60% of their total votes.
So I guess that's the kind of stats I should be aiming for.

I had two major problems with the game, and you can probably guess what those were.

So I didn't end up completely hating the motion controls; they actually work pretty well for the sword fighting aspects of the game. It takes a while to get used to the motions you have to make for sword swings, and even then it's still quite hard to do them correctly if you're panicking. But it's a pretty fun control scheme for some of the boss battles, especially that one part with the thunderbolts. A: This is caused by browser privacy settings, and tools that delete cookies. In Chrome especially. Just make sure you don't delete cookies ever, basically. • I've given up on softdrinks and sugary food. It took 3 or 4 weeks for the cravings to stop. I don't really feel any healthier yet, but I guess it will pay off eventually. I'm also phasing out pigs and cows, and replacing them with more birds and fish.

Magicka was really interesting.
The spell system is really fun. Like really fun. Basically, you get 8 elements to mix together, and then 4 ways of casting magic (on yourself, enchanting your sword, in front of you, and all around you.).
For example: Earth gets you an earth-ball projectile. Earth + Barrier gives you a wall of rocks in front of you. Earth + Barrier + Fire gives you a wall of mini volcanoes. Earth + Barrier + Fire + Healing gives you a wall of mini volcanoes that heal you when destroyed. Awesome!

I've started farming on my window!

So far I've got 8 plants: Hungarian Wax pepper, Scotch Bonnet pepper, Habanero pepper, Bird's Eye pepper, Medusa pepper, Strawberry, Pineapple Mint and some sort of baby Oranges.

So far the Wax pepper plant is doing the best. It grew 4 whole peppers. Amazing.

So I went to a ceilidh with a bunch of buddies, which is a traditional Scottish folk dancing thing.
It was my first time at a ceilidh, but luckily we were taught most of the dances in primary school a long time ago, so I had a rough idea about what to expect.

Anyway, Terraria was reaaalllly slow to get started, and it was pretty boring to play until we got some decent equips.
I also had this lag issue which took me a long time to solve, so the first few hours were mostly spent getting murdered.

But once we got up to gold equips and beyond, and could actually defeat enemies, it was a lot of fun.

Had a Minecraft LAN party with 4 other buddies and some spectators, it was actually amazing.

The goal was to beat the Ender Dragon without cheating, and we got pretty close. All we had left to do was stock up on arrows and ender eyes, but it was getting late, so we just cheated to get those. We were gutted to find that the stronghold was under the ocean, so it gave us a bit of trouble getting in.

When we finally got to the Ender Dragon, I was defeated really quickly and missed most of the fight. ):

Looks like DA's implementing a feature that allows artists to charge users for file downloads.

Not sure how I feel about this. I guess I'll have to see how it ends up being used in practice before I can decide.
Starving artists gotta eat, and I guess this could be pretty profitable for some of the very popular ones.

I could understand selling stuff like large collections of webcomics or high quality art, sure. But besides that, is there much content on this site worth paying for? Is DA's demographic even the type to start spending money?

Drill Golems have the Teradrill skill, which should make for some chaotic battles. You might remember that it does more damage against buffed targets, and now does even more damage if the target is defending.
So basically; Buffed out characters = instant death.

At 900m, it's far from the highest mountain I've been up, but it's the furthest I've climbed without cheating, since we started at sea level this time. Also, it rained almost non-stop the whole 8 hours we were there, so I was soaked all day.

Had sore legs for 3 days after that. Surprised I made it to the top at all, considering I haven't had exercise in years.

So I got my new PC a few days ago, and it's pretty awesome so far.

Went with a 4 core i5 at 3.5Ghz, 16GB of RAM, and a solid state drive.
The thing boots up in like 20 seconds and opens big files and applications incredibly quickly. I am pleased.

So, Terraria is quite a lot like Minecraft, as you've probably heard; it's got mining and crafting. The main difference is that it's 2D and looks more like a Super Nintendo game.

The best thing about Terraria is the reward scheme. Dawn of Souls is a remake of Final Fantasy 1 & 2, which is pretty similar to the Playstation remake, minus the pre-rendered cutscenes and with some new changes.

Although Final Fantasy 1 is way outdated in terms of gameplay, it's still pretty fun to play through for nostalgia. The music is especially memorable.
I feel this remake is way more accessible than the Playstation one, since the game's been made much easier and the MP system has been changed to a more familiar one.

First of all, a lot of the problems I had with the first game were fixed up a bit. The controls have been tidied up (rolling especially is easier) and the GUI looks much nicer (maps are more colourful and accurate). The plot and music are also much more memorable than before. Phantom Hourglass felt like a crappy handheld version of Wind Waker in many ways, but in Spirit Tracks I didn't feel that way, probably since it's a new generation of characters and a new style of travel.

I also really like how Zelda is finally a useful character. Main reason I held off for so long was the gimmicky DS control scheme, I'm usually not a huge fan of stuff like that. It works pretty well for stuff like the boomerang and bow, but not so much for sword fighting and careful movement. I still wasn't used to some of the controls by the end of the game, but luckily, the game was never too challenging anyway. Changing items was a bit tedious, since the game doesn't pause when you're doing it. It would have been nice to have more hotkeys for that.
