I've been in school for the last 3-4 weeks. It's my senior year as an LCAD animation student, and I'm busy as heck, but luckily I'm a master of scheduling to ensure that comics and animation get done on time (actually, more like scheduling apprentice, novice, padawan, etc.).

I've been using OpenOffice for a while, which isn't the most ideal creative writing software, but it works. I've reached the point where it's impossible to work on two different comic projects at once, in addition to the internship, helping senior films, and just school in general. So earlier today I went to National Portfolio Day at CalArts in Valencia, CA. The campus itself is nice, I kind of liked Art Center's campus better (in Pasadena), but it reminds me a lot of Irvine, CA. Anyway, I went to three tables/colleges to get my portfolio reviewed.

I really tried to like it. Really. However, there are so many things wrong with this manga, I can't even describe how bad it is. The pacing, first of all, is quite bad. I'm going to attempt drawing each and every idea listed here. Of course, they won't all be CG-ed, but I think it'll be good practice since now I have a WACOM tablet. Let's see how far I'll go before I start going nuts, hm?

On the side note, I'd like to invite everyone to try this challenge. Who knows, maybe it'll break an artist block or keep you from going insane from boredom. ^^;

My comp went stupid on me. In order for it to work again, my brother had to delete everything, which includes my mp3s, my saved .psds, Photoshop, MicrosoftWord, and all that jazz. I lost my Photoshop disc, so I'll just have to get one from a friend.

I'll be going to the Oekaki Board on mangatutorials.com, in case you'd like to join me. I'm not going to re-install Photoshop or any further programs until I get the new computer my mom promised me. Oy, I'm really sacrificing my chance at a WACOM tablet for this...
