So in Printmaking I am two colors away from finishing the kitsune reduction woodcut. My final project will consist of another triptych, this time all yokai. A futakuchi-onna (woman with two mouths, one in the back of her head,) a Kuchisake-onna (woman with a Glasgow smile,) and an Ohaguro-bettari (bride with no eyes/nose, and a blackened mouth.) In Sequential I'm doing a music video for Clone Your Lover by Zeromancer. I came up with the idea last year and had started storyboarding one prior to my hardrive dying. The same computer contained all my reference photos for a painting I'd been working on to illustrate the song. The illustration was never finished, but I'm finally getting to do the music video. I only need 30 seconds for class, but I'll at least draw up thumbnails for the rest of it to be finished later.

In Alma Prima I am halfway done with the first coat on my sphinx painting. I need to find some photos of caves and Athens to put in the background this weekend so I can work on it during the week. In class we'll be doing painting from life for the next couple weeks.

In Sci-Fi/Fantasy painting, I have the robo-girls' faces and clothes in pretty well and will have the two figures fnished in the next couple weeks.

No personal projects right now, though I intend to make up for it in December.

Grand Rapids, Michigan is hosting the world's largest art competition (or at least, the prize is the biggest.) It starts this Wednesday and goes to the 2nd of October.

I have entered my Vampire in Winter piece at Grand Lan and it's already hanging up.

Voting is online, which means even if you don't live around here, you can vote.

Registration started a few days ago, and can also be done online. You can vote multiple times.

LA Time's Guide to Comic-Con for Girls

I should have mentioned this earlier this week when I found it, but io9 had an article on how Comic-Con wasn't for girls. First the people in charge of District 9 made a contest that specified it was only for men. They added a second contest for women and extended the deadline, but the irony of excluding someone when the movie's tagline is "You are not welcome here" is amusing to me.

What wasn't funny though was the LA Time's Guide to Comic-Con for Girls ([link]) It starts off saying women will line up to do Jake Gyllenhaal's laundry on his washboard abs (yes, they really use that joke,) and get worse from there. Some highlights, or is that lowlights?:

* Saying that only as long as a hot guy with a hotter accent is talking, women will bother listening to details about a murder mystery plot
* Werewolves make better BFs than vampires because that can sympathize with you about your monthly curse
* Review for Where the Wild Things Are (yes, the one with the little boy) starts off "Two words: Mark Ruffalo." They just reduced a kids' movie to what hot guy is in it. They do this to every single movie and show without fail, this is just the most disturbing and blatant.
* Using the phrase "face furniture," which isn't so degrading to women as it's just stupid phrasing
* the only mention of Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes is whether Robert Downey Jr. or Jude Law is sexier
* They mention female empowerment in the middle of this 23 pages-long reversion into a pre-suffrage age article
* Scariest picture of Denzel Washington I've ever seen, without makeup
* Saying Battlestar Galactica got girls into sci-fi, and then saying new show Caprica will be more for women since it'll be a soap opera in space
* The only reason women will see an action flick is if a hot guy is in it

So let's recap, this article mentions laundry, that-time-of-the-month, soap operas, and hot guys, hot buff guys, hot shirtless guys, and did I mention New Moon and vampire yet?

It featured both male and female contributors, so this isn't just a case of them finding chauvinists to write for them.

I have a lot of female friends, nerds and not, and this is insulting to anyone with more than a couple braincells. The opening page for it says Comic-Con is for more than just nerdy guys and the influx of Twilighters, but then panders to the shallow Bellas of the country.

I just discovered the dA of ~TommyJChen, who has only 55 pageviews but amazing work.

He's a digital artist with great use of color and texture, and his compositions are really good.

He reminds me of some of Alex Pardee's Night of the Living Treeple t-shirt designs. :thumb122486175:

He has a really great sense of color and atmosphere. The Zombie Tree picture is just eerie.

Plans for the Upcoming Week or So

I am completely cleaning my house today, so probably no art 'til tonight. ConceptArt.org is having a competition for a Zombie Hunter design, so I'd like to do that but dunno where I'll find time this week.

Tomorrow I am going to do a photoshoot with ~SyntheticWater for a Lolita modeling competition. Wednesday I need to run to the mall and get a new art book, fix my phone, and pick up contacts. In the afternoon I will be doing a shoot with ~SyntheticWater and ~LemonVampire for a summer painting project.

~LemonVampire is in the process of moving, so the story project is being slowed a tad as the entire weekend was spent working or helping to move. I am getting nearer to done with the picture of Jenny as I worked on it last night while gaming.

~abhorant has given me several character sketches and info so if I have time Wednesday evening, I will start on my World of Darkness character project.

I haven't started on bishie paper dolls yet for ~SyntheticWater but it should get started sometime the first week of June. Later next month I'll start working on the rest of the Kurios Fairy Tales: Magnetic Personalities dolls and try getting the Flash version started by July.

I think that is all for now... Oh yeah, monster girls. Maybe those will happen in June. I don't have a table at JAFAX, so maybe I'll wait 'til next year for that series. I'm kind of still on a vampire kick for now.

Oh yeah, my 21st birthday is this weekend so Friday I'll be in Chicago to go see Kill Hannah and Saturday I'll be heading to the bars to hang out with friends.

Baby's black balloon makes her fly

So over the weekend I went to two art shows, one of which was the first not-at-school show in a very very long time.

The first was called Activesite, and I had no intention of going to it. There were no pictures on the posters and with the way they colored IV, I thought blood was going to be involved, such as a drive or whatnot, but definitely not a sculpture show. Even if someone had said our faculty had work over there I wasn't going to go, I only knew one sculpture teacher at my school and I haven't considered him talented. Even when the Illustration Club told me to go I had no idea where the building was, since they used some title for the building "The Such-and-Such Building," rather than "where the old art museum was."

Anyway, I ended up going to the school to do work, got caught by free food for a gallery opening (which I'll get to in a moment) and was told about the Activesite show, or specifically the bar they had made of ice. I can't drink, and I had to be somewhere shortly, but I went and begged my friends to come with me and the one who agreed was someone I didn't even think liked art. So I headed over, and instantly had to look at everything. We found the bar but it wasn't quite set up, so we started going around, at one point we found a box that gave out compliments for a quarter, and since it was making an electronic hum, he put in twenty-five cents. It didn't say anything to him. There were postcards, the one that caught my eye said "You've found a 5 Rupee, it's worth 5 Rupees," but my fav involved lions... I couldn't get a decent photo of the text though. The entire show was quite interesting and we spent about an hour looking at everything. He made a joke about an ice-sculpture toilet (depicting the economy going down the crapper) being the Lich King (of WoW)'s throne, you know, a man's throne...yeah. Pictures can be found here.

Then the other art show was the one in the school. It looked mildly alright. From passing by going to class I could see a red ceramic deer and a machine that made a shoe tap. But nothing I had to rush to see. So yesterday I went to school to work on my project and decided to go in. The first artist took everyday things and made you look at them aagin in a new way, since everyone knows what the extraordinary is, but people take for granted enjoying the everyday things. The next artist used belts and pulleys and gears to animate household items. It made me think back to my Drafting class in high school when we learned about constructing machines. The next artist had a video of people moving in space wearing bright colors. They failed to have video of the hings on the posters, so I quickly lost interest. The next used plastic in contrast to things considered natural. His artist statement made some good points.

The last artist, William Lamson, wrote an artist statement about amateurism and masculinity. There were other words but those two I remember, particularly the latter. His exhibit was two TVs, one showing black balloons being popped (a huge understatement considering the detail I'm about to go into) and the other had colored balloons emerging from a serene lake covered in mist and floating off in the air or water. I'll get it out of the way now and say it was a nice commentary on serenity and death, and possibly the soul.

Now, it's true the first video just showed black balloons being popped in various ways, but oh the ways it was done! Ok, some if not most of the videos are on his site, so go watch them, 'cause I am going to refer to them. The one that caught my attention was him shooting at falling balloons with something that had crepe/film attached to the bullet/spike/nail/whatever and creatied really good visuals with the use of line and diagonals. Then the one that really kicked in the whole "masculinity" exploration had a man walk out with a bunch of balloons, then take a gun out of his holster... only it was rubber and very flaccid. He then started beating them all until they'd popped. Some were just elaborate yet simple, such as the guy jumping on a seesaw while wearing a spiky face mask and looking up to pop the balloon. One awesome video had a (white or black) can tied to a black balloon in a stark white room. The can was shot, started to leak black... and when it was light enough the balloon floated up, dripping black in a (pretty?) pattern. The problem with the entire thing though, was that I felt like I was either looking too deep, examining each element and trying to figure out symbolism -"Ah, his holster is see thru, much like a condom," and let's not forget the flaccid gun- for things that were just visually appealing (actually, they were darn hypnotizing, I sat there for at least 15 minutes straight and couldn...

Mac Apple Sauce

Well, for whatever random reason my Apple comp is not recognizing the hardrive and I need to send it in and PRAY they can retrieve the information.

It has all my information from the last year: Photoshop work, modeling reference pictures, MY ENTIRE EUROPE TRIP photos, and other misc things.

I'm wondering how best to get the money for it (it'll cost as much as a new one) since it'll cost about $1500 and they still might not be able to save it all.

Would anyone be interested in a raffle? I can do something for the winner, something nice. Or I could do commissions. Any ideas?

I recently found a notebook with poetry from 2-3 years ago, pretty much when I was writing most of my stuff. Now, I'm going to type them up either way for my own benefit, but my question is, should I bother uploading them on here? They are very emotional and gut/heart-spilling, which would seem to put them on the same level as emo livejournal poetry or whatever ppl make fun of.

My question is, do people even bother to read poetry on here?

Semester's Almost Done

Well, I've been moved into my apartment for over a week now. See pictures here and for views from my windows and on the street, click here.

It's wonderfully big and spacious and two blocks from the school.

It was boring the first few days, then last Monday I met a girl who likes what I like so she was cool, then she introduced me to this guy upstairs with the awesome apartment covered in posters with action figures along the cabinets.

To cut out details until I get more time to write, the guy told me that people would deliberately hit puddles get artists wet if they saw them. So this slightly worried me but not that much.

Today was my first day of classes, the teachers talked a lot. The thing is, on my way home from buying art supplies, I was carrying my portfolio and talking to the one guy when this car gets by the curb and goes through a huge puddle splashing me in a grand wave of water. I couldn't believe it. I was soaked. Thank goodness my portfolio was waterproof, but seriously... The one guy was like "Welcome to Grand Rapids."

How is it done? Surely there has to be some kind of film, or process, or filters (what is a filter anyway?), or type/era of camera to get pictures with rich shadows, different temperatures, etc. Or is it all done on the computer? It can't be though since a lot of the photography I'm seeing on dA (and my watch list) resembles pictures in magazines from decades ago. How are these colors and effects accomplished?

Tattoos

It's strange, I hate details and pain, yet lately I've found myself looking on deviantART at the tattoos. Specifically the phoenix and dragon ones. It's intoxicating how beautiful and intricate they are. They are so wonderful looking I was actually finding myself considering really getting one. The idea of wings on my back after seeing The Crow 2 was a whim and something that would look cool if it weren't permenant. However, the phoenix and dragon ones, especially the first, really appeal to me. There is only two problems: if I choose anything off dA, chances are someone else has the tattoo and tattoos are meant to be unique and special, and secondly, I don't know of anyone who doesn't have a tattoo or doesn't plan to get one soon or after high school. I'm not much of a punk or a rebel, but I do believe that if tattoos are popular it sort of goes against getting one. That's probably silly since if you want something you should go for it whether it's popular or not, regardless of others, but to me it would be like joining a fad. Maybe in college I can find someone who can design some unique tattoos for me.

Nature photographers do not get enough credit for their work. They spent weeks, months, even years trying to get the perfect shot of a bird taking off or a big cat leaping in mid-air. That takes a pateience few people possess.

What does that have to with my subject title? Well, allow me to lead to it for a little bit longer.

I'm taking psychology right now and it's been brought up that if someone knows (s)he is being watched, (s)he will adapt their behavior. It won't be natural. To see someone act real one needs to observe from the side and unbeknownst to the person being watched.

Fear, sadness, happiness...all these are hard to capture on film. I have shots of me screaming in what I hope appears to be terror. I've done pictures with me in a depressed pose, but as for face shots, they don't really show anything other than my usual expression. Happiness...well, I can smile but I don't find it atttractive. The same goes for laughing.

Emotion is hard to truly capture. People rarely have cameras on them 24/7. Even fewer people are thinking clearly enough while they are crying or giggling to go find a camera and hand it to someone to photograph them. Art instead creates a beautiful version of certain emotions. Women aren't shown bawling with red eyes and runny noses. Instead they are stoic but for tears (aka eye drops) running down their eyes, possibly with some mascara for good measure. I would like to say now that I don't fault these artists and photographers. I happen to like my art pretty. Continue with this if you feel I've been speaking about you. The point is that unless you follow someone around and take pictures of them when they finally show the desired emotion, you'll have to fake it. This is hard.

Last year I got my friend to pose for me. His face was blank, so I thought "Hmm, there should be emotion." I just didn;t know what sort. I was nervous having him finally pose for me (I've already written a journal entry on how I'm scared of male models) and his gf was there, and other things were bothering me. My problem now was as to what sort of emotion. I had no idea. So we spent 1.5 hours trying to get him to look angry without being angry. He was in a good mood. No one wanted to ruin this. It's hard to just make yourself look "happy," or "heartbroken," or as I tried today, "in love" without being in the actual mood.

So, I finally get to the main part. For school I had to glue a bunch of text together as a background for a pic. I took everything I'd written in the last 5 years, then narrowed it down to everything dealing with love that I'd written in the last five years. Week later it was all arranged and glued down. Now I needed a pic. Originally I'd done a thumbnail of me sitting crosslegged and writing in my navy blue notebook. That wsas with all my stories. Now it had to deal with romance. I couldn't ask all the guys they stories/poems/songs were about to pose for things they didn't know I'd written. So I came up with the idea to draw myself daydreaming and looking in love. That was easy enough. I'd walked down the halls with a huge smile plastered on my face for most of lunch before Art class. (I say most because people slowly wore it down.) But I still managed to demonstrate it for my classmates who I asked for opinons. Forgot to take the pictures last night at home with good lighting. Was too tired by the time I remembered. So I took my camera to school. First of all, the art room has florescent lights that make skin look unnatural. So I'm sitting in class while people chat, Disney tunes play on the cd player, and um..work. I'm trying to get in the right mindset, but the entire idea of concentrating on boys and photographing myself got in the way. Not to mention my teacher loves to yell. That'd make anyone feel lovey-dovey and dreamy. Heh. So totally wrong environment. But I had to do something. So I took a few, but it just wasn't natural. For a project like this, faking it wouldn't be right. All the poems and stories on that board had written out of emotion and not using my brain. To have a fake look would undermine all of that. I'm gonna try to call a guy tonight. If that doesn't work I'm dead because I need a picture by tomorrow. It's something that requires pateience. This teacher is not a woman a nature photographer would like as a boss.

Love really is a hard thing to photograph. At times it's there on the face for a milisecond. I can feel my nerves pass it across synapses, but then it's gone. It can be that fleeting. Other times it's stuck on some's face for a while. It depends on dozens of f...

K, well, I just noticed I had 1500 deviation comments. cool, i guess.

Anyway, next kiriban is 3000.

I have a music newsletter. ORE It's for local bands, but I have to present some excuse for not drawing. This is why. That and spending hours trying to figure out Photoshop and vectors and lineart. I still don't know how to make the brush tool be pointy and make nice lines.

What else? Oh yes. I am "working" on a calendar design for art. (In other words it's sitting next to me on the desk with nary a bit of ink on it.) It's due the 16th. I don't want that week of November to come. I already made my friend change her birthday from the 14th to the 19th so I could do her birthday present. (She wants a charcoal drawing of herself. Oh yeah, I was gonna make a nice journal entry about that. Remind me to do that later. It's not about her, but rather charcoal as a media.) I am taking the pictures this Saturday before running to a Halloween party, and oh yeah I oughtta do a Halloween picture this weekend since it's my -favorite- holiday and the day is coming up. Sunday I will be transcribing two recorded interviews and crying myself to sleep at 2 AM...

Wednesday I have to decorate cookies after school for, you guessed it, Art club. The there's also the fact that I have art homework. My art teacher made me go from a 9"x7" picture to nearly three times that size. The blood in my arm was draining while tracign its image from the projector. I don't really like the picture, esspecially that size. It has too many midtones and not enough solid blacks, and I was wantign to get out of there so fast I didn't draw in details and important lines.

She thinks I live for art. I haven't done that in a while.

First of all, a warning: If you don't find my rants amusing, or rather find them scary, don't read on. Good day.

Now, for the rest of you brave souls. I have a brillant idea: Mandatory photography classes in every school at a young age. This is for both a logical reason and also to fix a artistic problem of mine. *relaxes as she writes, never noticed this before* Think of it, how many times does one take pictures, get them developed, and find heads chopped off and other awkward things. Someone has fat legs yet looks like a twig in real life? Simple, they need to be photographed from a lower angle. I learnt that in a book. What, you thought my teacher told me that? Gimme a break. Alright, so we have the logical reason out of the way. Now for the real reason I'm on here at 9:30 at night. Illogic, but only slightly.

I came up with a good idea for a pic. Only two problems: my room is too short to take a full-body shot of me since the camera doesn't screw into the tripod in a way that allows me to take portrait shots instead of landscape. So, after moving to the crowded parlor and failing, I decide to ask the only person in my house that is available: my brother whom I hate dearly. He hasn't taken an art class or photogrpahy class ever. If he was submitted to one, he was sure to sleep during it. I try to explain to him that I want a vertical shot. He turns the back of the camera on since he's too lazy to take off his glasses and use the viewport. Batteries are already near dying, he turns on the thing that use to eat through them before I figured it out. He takes two pics, I give up and go check them on the computer. Lousy and blurred. I tell him to try again. I say since he's taller than me he should be able to take this one pic for me. He decided to rub it in my face that he's "6, no 7 inches taller" and then he gets up on a chest to make himself taller. So, one pic. Then another full-body from lower since I didn't want my legs foreshortened. Then I try to explain to him that if he stands as I direct he will not cast a shadow and all will be well. He snaps the pic when I'm posed but still mad at him. So not only is the positioning wrong but instead of looking sorrowful, I look ready to kill. Perfect for anything but the shot I wanted.

*sighs in despair* I want people who know how to use a camera. And can come over after dark... Yeah. I cna't do everything myself because the idiot who designed the tripods for sale didnt' think someone might make to take a tall pic instead of a horizontal one. It needs to be done by a person, and one who understands art techniques and so much more. I can't exactly show up at school wearing a slip in art class. I realize there are lunch periods but by pictures involve the dark and my sun light is so much nicer than the harsh light of the spotlights at school. (I know that sounds wrong but if I turn it on its lowest setting and mess with the camera I get pretty blue toned pictures.) Hmm, I have some people who are in my art class and cool. Now I just have to be brave and ask if they make house calls late at night.

Yesterday during art class I was struggling with shading some hair and came to realize I couldn't remember being taught how to shade hair. I asked the girl next to me and she assured me in my accusation that we'd never been taught how to shade hair, draw hair, draw and shade eye, lips, noses, anything. I began to explain how I'd seen tutorials online but other than that hadn't been taught in it high school. I've been in art class for 3 years and haven't learnt much. I've learned how to use different medias, how to value render, and other things, but for how to draw I haven't had any lessons. There are people in my class, my 4th year-level class, that cannot draw a face or eye properly. I am not putting them down for this, I am simply saying my teacher hasn't stopped to teach the class how to draw properly. If she did, we've forgotten it. Now, I wasn't -terribly- upset because I knew I could always find an art book or online tutorial. However, that night, I began to hate her.

I was at home, working on my sketch for that week, and had to shade in the background of trees and the grass in the fore and mid-grounds. As I sat there making zig-zaggy lines and doing horizontal shading, I realized I had never been taught how to properly shade leaves in a background, or how to shade/draw grass. I was looking at the picture and I could see bits of blades, but I was not about to draw each blade. It would make the pic look hairy rather than lush. If an art teacher ever taught me how to do shortcuts for trees and grass in graphite I don't recall.

Male Models/Art-to-do list

I really like boys. I have since I was little. At times though, they scare me to death. If a guy asks for my photo, I'll give it to him, send it to him, whatever. Guys have decided I'm suddenly photogenic and have pulled a camera out of nowhere and snapped a few shots of me. I've no idea what they do with them; in truth I'd be scared to know considering some of them... However, it seems if -I- need a photo of one of them, it's really strange. You'd think I'd asked them to lend me a vital organ to use as a hacky-sack, or something equally odd. Maybe they honestly believe cameras suck out souls. I dunno.

What I do know though is they are really hard to approach and equally hard to schedule a time with. To make matters worst, most of the guys I want to use as models have an affinity for black. I understand that all the spikes and straps and evil glares are supposed to be intimidating, but why must it intimidate me? (Even the girls who dress like that are hard to approach.)

It took me several days Freshman year to get a Senior boy to stand still long enough to be photographed. He seemed extremely irritated and I was extremely scared. He was my height plus several feet. I am terrified of him to this very day.

This week it took me two days to get up the guts to ask a good friend if he'd be willing to model. I have yet to get a reply and if he ever speaks to me again I'll be shocked. I wouldn't be surprised if one request kills our relationship.

Yesterday I asked a classmate, younger than me, but taller and therefore scarier, if he was free to model for me. Being dumb, I wasted time at the library instead of getting home ASAP to call him. He wasn't home when I called and he never called me back.

I always feel like I'm nagging if I call a guy more than once in half a day. And geez why does no one set up a national "It's safe to call after this time in the morning" so I'm not wondering if I'm waking people or catching them in the shower or mid-bite through a pancake? And guys always treat me like a freak for the rest of the school-year once I've asked them to model. Boys are scary : (

And before anyone points to the stock-art gallery, I've looked. I need specific poses, and to be completely honestly, I'd like if when my teacher or someone asks whether a picture is 100% original I can say I took the photos myself.

Oh, and another thing. I've had in my mind this one picture inspired by a Tool song since I bought Lateralus 1-2 years ago. The only problem is it involves a male and female. Wooden manikins do not bend into sitting positions. A key point to the picture is the female being young, small, and sort-of child-like. This picture is somewhat personal, so I'd hope to have me as the female portion. It struck me as I was walking here to the library that if I don't find a male model in the next couple years, I might hit a growth spurt and the picture will be ruined. Mortality is suddenly a threat. What a motivation for a boyfriend- a male model on call 24/7... Love, companionship, ha, I'm an artist, I need people to pose...

Art Class

Started school today. Again we need themes for our sketchbooks. I have two ideas. Immediately I thought of music. The images of people moshing, metal singers screaming, and a emo-boy crouched up and painted in monochrome blue just looked awesome. Of course that would require going to concerts, which isn't likely since the bands around here have school-age members. Also asking to go to practices of bands I know would take guts, which I lack.

Second idea- Darkness and Light. Last year I decided I was going to do dark pictures. Zevitz House I and Scream my examples. I didn't use quite as much black as I'd planned to for the year. Despite the last year's events, I'm not quite depressed enough to go into a Dark period. And I also don't want to be admonished by my art teacher for dark, possibly morbid art. That's best left up to another girl in the class anyway.

I still think it would work though. Metal has a darkness to it. Emo deals with dark emotions, or at least dark eyeliner. That way I can still incorporate music I like into my art while not being restricted to band members' schedules.

Devious Journal Entry

Couple weeks ago I went to a retreat and was sad because everyone looked intimidating and unappproacheable. Finally the second day, I caught sight of this long red coat. I tried to go over to the person, but I had to go somewhere with my group. Finally, at lunch, I saw the guy again, so I walked over and asked if he watched Trigun. He did!! and that was why he had the coat. I was so excited. : D I then met his other two friends, who were also into anime and manga and other things I liked. I hung out with them for the rest of the day and managed to get photos of the dude in his coat at breakfast before everyone had to go home. They shall be uploaded with more info in the description. : D

I just bought the English translation of the first Vampire Hunter D book. It was cool. I didn't much like the first movie, but now that I've read the book I shall have to watch it again for comparison purposes and to see if it's any better now that I know the girl really -does- throw her clothes off arbitrarily and not just at the animator's whim. *ponders* wait, no, it is still the latter. I recall her clothes ripped off as if they were made of the most delicate fabric and dissolved by one touch.

I have two Sandman comics. One didn't even show any of the Endless. Oh well. As soon as the internet is hooked up at my house I'll start putting things on E-bay.

I found a manga the other day called Dream Gold. The art is really cute. It reminded me of Okage: Shadow King. I'm not sure how close they are though in style now that I think about it. So yeah, end of my recommendations for now.

Well, I have finished the pic for ~exilius. Yay me.

I am happy to announce I am such a mood that if I can find some paper when I get home I might actually get a whole bunch of pictures drawn. Anger doesn't make for perfect lines, but hey, I'll see what happens. *vindictive smile*

As for moving, we still have boxes everywhere, and I nearly cried yesterday when a search of every box I could find didn't hold my art paper in it. However, I will find something to draw on. Three of my mangas are missing also. I am sad. The bookshelf I bought couldn't even hold them if I found them, so whatever. Seriously they need to put extra shelves in the box.

No one has been to my house though, even though I've spread the word on where I live. The new phone number has also been given out. So far one person has called me, and that was as a return call. Hmph.

Oh, if I do draw, I still will have to get my brother's laptop, find some floppies, and then get to the library to upload the pics. So nothing is going to be regular.

Yeah... I apologize to anyone who read this far and wondered why there was very little mention of art. I will find something pleasant to right about next entry.

I am in the middle of moving to another house, so my brother took my copier to the other house. Once everything is organized, I will again begin drawing.

Also, my internet is being shut off for the move, so I doubt I'll be on here for a bit.

So far, I think I only owe one person a picture. If I'm wrong, feel free to note me and remind me. I'm tired, I forget things.

My friend's metal band, Head, is having an art contest. They are finished recording and they need an album cover for the cd which will be released by the end of the month. Well, I'm 17 now.

I saw Madagascar today with a newly made friend. It had flying plotting penguins. It was great and I had a wonderful time.

I got a beautiful bracelet as a gift from another friend.

I didn't get to do much today because I had to work on a comic for English. Right now I'm wasting time instead of working on the book jacket. I'll probably upload the comic when I'm done.

So, my current avatar/display-pic-thingie is the face of my Jester picture. I was wondering if I should change it.

If anyone believes I should, does anyone have a suggestion of what pic I should turn into a display pic instead?

(Also, if anyone can turn bitmaps into gifs, or jpgs into gifs, without the pic getting pixelated, please let me know as my comp messes the pics up when I try.)
