Cheap christmas commissions.


Gonna turn up the mix a little, so this time, as well as the usual irken and anime fodder, I'll be offering portraits of people... whether that's you, your loved one, or anyone else you want as a portrait.

Makes for great christmas cards, or something to frame, and as they'll be done in traditional media, I'll send you the originals to give or what have you.

Of course the usual is still available, or if you'd like a portrait as an irken or in anime style, that's alright as well.

is doing a large scale poster-pinup of a bunch of girls (presumably ones who're hoping to get something out of it) washing Loc's ship. Obviously it would look better with a lot of them there, so this is a call-out to anyone who has a female alien character who... wants in Loc's pants. Or at least wants attention from him.

Let me make this short and sweet. Also, long winded aggressive comments will be ignored, so let's avoid those from the beginning, shall we?

Reasons for posting my Irkpreciation deviation?

For a laugh (because yes, I really thought it was pretty funny) and to get a point across.
Judging from the initial comments I got, it seemed to work.
Not to start drama.
Not to make the club hated.
Not to make enemies (or even frienemies).

Just to open the doors to an opinion that the rest of the community hadn't really thought of.

The comments I received at first were exactly what I expected to see, and had been hoping for;
People either nodded in agreement, or shook their head, and while being polite and non-confrontational, they expressed why. In a sentence or two. Perfect, exactly what I wanted.

Then the... opposition, came along.
Long winded, over dramatic posts that were attacking me as much as the concept or the piece itself.
I think there was only one well worded, non-arrogant artist I actually debated with, and I'm thankful to her. The others were... disappointing.

Is it not funny that, until they came along, the piece was literally drama-free? That people had taken the opinion, and done their own thing with it one way or another... and then they run in with their false heroism a'blazin, and try to bring it down.

They were blasting me about inciting drama, while in fact causing most of it themselves.

Fail.


(As an aside, as a gesture of good will i apologized for any unnecessary drama the art sent towards the club (on the club's main page) to which i received... the longest. guilt trip. EVER.

I'm doing up this comic, and in the storyline, a single Tallest is appointed to guard the budding civilization.

Now, I don't personally have any Tallest characters... at least not current ones. I could create one of course, but I'd prefer to use an iconic one from the Irken community.

So.

If you have a tallest character... and I do mean a legitimately tempered one, not a wimp, not a sadist, not a brutal mass murdering fuck, and not an idiot... and I do realize that wipes a lot of the Tallest characters in this community off the board... then comment here with a description of their character and a reference image, and I'll see if any of them fit the bill.

Keep in mind that the Tallest WILL be fully decked out in Tallest gear. He or she probably won't play a HUGE role in the storyline, but they'll be there just the same, and will probably make occasional appearances.

If your character is chosen, any actions or dialog the Tallest has will go through you before it's added to the comic.

1) I live in Toronto (or will by Tuesday) and I love it dearly. I think it's one of those cities everyone should visit at least once.
2) I'm a lesbian, though currently single. And yet I like drawing gay and straight males more then females. Hmm.
3) When I first meet someone I have been told I come off as "cold" or "intimidating"... whether or not I enjoy your company usually deters whether or not this changes. Sometimes I warm up, sometimes not.
4) I don't often smile, even when I'm happy, at least not with my mouth. (Often if I do it's for show, society relies on obvious social signals like laughing and the like, so being myself I come off differently then I'd like.)

If you have something negative to say, have the balls to say it to my face, as opposed to chittering with all your pathetic friends while I'm not around.
6) I think I have a good voice, or that I could, I just wish I could afford training for it.

First off, I still stand by what I said. Tracing is theft, she should have given credit originally, and she should have asked Torso's permission before using her art.

HOWEVER.

She apologized, she admitted it. Obviously she felt the repercussion of her actions, and more then likely, she won't repeat the same mistake. That's what I wanted; it solves all problems.

The drama and childish bullshit YOU ALL have caused, snapping at each other's throats and turning on each other?

That was NOT my intention, and I refuse to take responsibility for your jumping to conclusions.
I appreciate ALL the intelligent input I received here, on both sides of the argument.
All of the small minded idiocy, whether it was supporting 'Kay or or "taking my side"? It's disgusting. You all need to take some time and get a proper head on your shoulders.

I keep hearing that Kay has left; I'm sorry for that, it wasn't my intention, but it is also her choice. Hopefully she'll grow enough of a backbone to come back and fix the problem, as opposed to running from it.

Everyone has "Failed" Irken experiments.
Experiments gone wrong, escaped/crazy-ass experiments, experiments 'failed' that somehow resulted in them being extremely powerful... all against the people and empire who created them.

No one has "Successful" Irken experiments. Ones that kick some ass, are undyingly loyal to the empire, partially brain dead to their own wants, ect ect.

Think maybe I'll make one.

I've been trying to work on comissions, but doing work with a mouse is just leading to low-quality stuff, so I just have to wait. -When people use human objects, diseases, ect, with irkens. It doesn't make fucking sense.
Irkens wouldn't get aids. You wanna make up a disease that effects irkens that just happens to have the same symptoms? That's awesome, AND creative. Go you.
Alchohol, whatever; it was big enough on earth that I can see it transferring to CERTAIN bars.
Cocaine; Human drug.
Heroine; Human drug
Weed; flexible here, because you could call any plant a weed technically.
We made Vixxen; injectable alien drug. Use your heads.

-When people have tallest characters who don't wear the tallest armour.
Seriously. Tallest aren't just tall irkens. The armour specifies their rank.
If they aren't in the getup, they aren't tallest.

-When irken's have 'families'. Unless you're talking about the end of the irken empire as it previously was (read; Goddess Rising, ect) Then irkens don't have families. They're born from tubes. On mass. They don't breed, they don't get pregnant. If it was a mutation, okay, maybe. But normally? Come on.

-When Irkens have human genitalia. This just plain doesn't make sense. Look at them. Do they have human parts? At all? No. Use your heads, get c-r-e-a-t-i-v-e. Or reference fics, or whatever.

-Defects. They're all fun and good, love em, but if the empire is still intact, they wouldn't be allowed to survive on irk.
They wouldn't be in armies.
They wouldn't be main service workers.
They'd be chased off or killed.
If they're on the run, in hiding, whatever... that's just awesome.

-Irken names. Notice that, almost without fail, they're single syllable? Using names like Luscious-vanhailenstine just seems ridiculous. A few, sure... maybe there were glitches in the naming system. Again, if you're working off an rp where the empire is no longer run on the same values, cool. But this is why my irken's always have simple names.. Loc, Xin, Reiz, Jix, ect. It's just more cannon, especially for the older characters.

Sorry for my recent in-activity... without a tablet, and no internet except for at work, I've been pretty stuck.

I thought maybe a few people behaved like this... maybe a few here and there who were too worthless and pathetic to confront others, who sneered and spat at them when their backs were turned, only to confront them with a smile.

But no.

More and more I'm realizing that almost EVERY fucking person is like this, and it makes me so unimaginably angry. It makes every relationship I've ever worked towards feel frivolous and hopeless.

Okay, so we have enough interested in the contest!!!! I really hope more will enter as well, but we'll see.

The subject IS:
One of your characters interacting with one of mine... could be anything. Romantic encounter, a violent one, hitting on them, talking over a drink, a glance in the street, whatever... but, you know, make it creative.

The prize would be one of my 25$ commissions (Colour and cell shaded)... it would probably end around August, when I've finished off the other commissions I've been given.

Characters!:
Loc - Sexy black-guy assassin. Yeah. You know him.
Reiz - Young soldier... yes, those are scars on his face. His eyes are implants. He's a little cold... but polite. And uke.
Xin - Angry mother fucker, but has a soft side. Commander on his ship before it went down.
Jix - Cocky space pirate!! With no arm. Enough said.
Raigen - NOT IRKEN. Obviously. He's a species called Te'huan ((c) me >( )... very tribal. He's huge. No one will interact with him, but I thought I'd include him anyway.
