To make my life story short: I'm now attending a local college, working part time at a Ross, while staving off my addiction to World of Warcraft. (Yeah... my online time was spent on that game...) I haven't been consistently active there for months either with my Ally guildie friends progressing with end game loot while I'm still stuck with normal dungeon gear... Raid schedule incompatible with my Real life schedule. >.< Still I kinda feel insecure knowing that my online subscription expired a week ago and not being able to log in whenever I feel like it. Though I still have Vent...

Currently resisting the temptation use my credit card or buy a game card to reactivate my account. Need to save money for AX next week. :) "Chaperoning" there with my sis, friends, and acquaintances. Requested my days off a month ago. So excited!! :iconankhalianet:'s freeloading again. She somehow got me into paying for her entrance fee and her portion of the hotel fee as well. Anyone else heading there?

My heels are now sore! Never been used to wear high heels; prefer to use flip flops, which I shoulda worn instead. *sigh* Throughout that whole time, that graduation song “Pomp & Circumstance” was being played repeatedly. Now I can’t get that song outta my head! :headache:
One of the highlight performance in the ceremony would probably be when a fellow graduating senior classmate of mine played the piano in front of the audience, playing Final Fantasy VII’s “Tifa’s Theme.” Never even knew that he could play the piano well, since I always see him as lazy and complains a lot. Although, I knew that he’s really good at chess, and no one in our high school ever beat him in that game, except for my World Lit. teacher, which was also a surprise. *his attitude kinda reminds me of Shikamaru* :eyepopping: I’m gonna miss the time spent in high school, but ‘tis time for me to move on. UCSD, here I come!
Now that summer break’s here, maybe I can finally have time to draw and keep up with the net. ^^ Really hope that’ll happen, but sometimes I have to get my priorities straight, especially now that I have to make my own decisions to shape my future. I’m kinda nervous about leaving the city I grew up in, but also excited to see the world outside of L.A. Now that we’re parting ways, I’m gonna enjoy the time I’m spending with my friends and family. :lol: There’s always the instant message to keep in touch, so I’ma prob’ly see more of ya after all… that is until college starts, since I’ll be once again in busy mode.
Summer plans: Anyone coming to AX (Anime Expo) in Anaheim? ^__^ Gonna be my first time attending one, and can’t wait to be there!! To those coming, hope 2 meet ya! :#1:

I really gotta try to stay active, especially now that it's Spring Break. *glares at the stack of homework* I've been waiting for acceptance/rejection letters from the 6 UC's that I've applied to. So far, I'm certain I've been accepted at UC Riverside, and there are three others that have admitted me but are still reviewing my application (Santa Barbara, Merced, Davis). I didn't even bother to apply at UCLA or UC Berkley.
I am surprised and glad for Eric, classmate of mine in Japanese Class who had a 3.5 GPA and got accepted at UCLA. If I had applied there maybe I would have gotten in too, since I had a higher GPA than his by .4, but I had reasons not to apply there; I do not really want to live in the same city as my parents. When the whole Japanese class found out he got in, we all congratulated him, and one of my Asian classmates, who also applied at UCLA and was waiting for his letter, joked that the reason Eric got in was because he was Mexican, a minority in a University where the majority( 37.2%) are Asians/Pacific Islander. I have to somewhat agree with him, since, compared to other Asians, I don't think I'll be as smart as the others who can get in UCLA. However, I also believe that how to get in there depends on luck.
Really though, I don't really know which University I should go to, even though I know I want to major in engineering. My day started out fine enough until I went to third period in my Japanese class when I heard from my classmates that Naruto's getting dubbed by ShoPro, part of Viz. I couldn't believe that, so at nutrition I went to the school library to find news about it. Surely enough it was there and true. Here's a link of an article.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since 5 days ago, a friend of mine told me, from reading February's issue of Newtype Magazine, that she read that Naruto has been bought and liscenced.

Through Toon Zone I read that Naruto would air this fall season in Cartoon Network

In a way, I'm relieved that it was Viz who got to liscence the series instead of 4Kids Entertainment. *shudders* My problem would be that it would be shown on Cartoon Network, meaning that it'll be most likely be edited, unless it'll be placed on Adult Swim, which I read somewhere that they won't be. *sigh* Well, I guess there are always the bilingual dvds to buy once they are out. That's probably the only guarranteed thing where the series won't be chopped off. I'm still in shock...

Finals are finally over! ^ ____^ And new semester begins this Tuesday. I'll try to be more active once again, but I doubt I'd be on the weekdays, since I'm taking 7th period Child Psychology. I'm also learning to drive; got my permit last month, and planning to take the driving test on my birthday. I'm one of those few late starters who are hesitant to drive, and prefer to take the city bus to get to places. ^^; But I had fun driving so far. :nod: I haven't crashed into anything yet and only got honked at once. ^^ And I'm scheduled to drive with my driving instructor tomorrow. I hope that it won't rain, since the meteorologist said that there's a chance of rain. I'm not ready to drive in the rain!!! And it's cold right now! All cloudy and no sun in sight...brrrr...

Anyway, I'm planning to enter in some of the contests going on right now just for fun. Don't know if I'd actually do it though. I've just recently submitted one for ~AtemxAnzu. Other contests I'm thinking of entering are...

I'm feeling upset right now, and very disappointed at my friend, whom I'll call Cd. Last Friday, during lunch at our school there was an Anime Club meeting, in which I was not able to attend to due to Journalism business (selling ads). The club is open to everyone and people can come in anytime. During that meeting the club decides to watch something, instead of planning for a fundraising activity. Ankhalianet brought some DVDs to watch, like Naruto, Last Exile, Galerians:Rion, but Cd and some of the 11th grade male members of the class wanted to watch Love Hina. Most of the experienced club officers, who know about the content of the series, were absent in the meeting due to other urgent activities. Let's note that majority of the regular members this year are new and freshmen 13-14 year olds with limited experiences to anime except for the edited dubbed anime on local channels (i.e. Shaman King, Pokemon, etc).

The voting process of what to watch was unfair, since many members don't know about any of the given series and that nobody even bothered to give a brief summary on what each anime is about. In the end Love Hina was chosen.

Now complaints have reached the school administration of some people feeling uncomfortable with what they've watched, so our sponsor ( the teacher who lent us his room for the meetings) got in MAJOR trouble! Therefore, until further notice, there will be no Anime Club!

Who were the one who told? I have two guesses based on what I've learned so far:

1. Last Friday, two seventh graders (probably friends/sibling of a freshman member) ditched their middle school and sneaked in to our high school decided to come to the club meeting.
2. I heard there were a lot of other new faces last week, (not regulars), who decided to check out what Anime Club is about.

With Love Hina showing last Friday, I guess we've just fueled some of the visitors' stereotype of what anime is: either perverted or childish. The purpose of the club is to break those two main stereotypes.

I am really pissed at those older members and the former/current officers who were watching for their lack on common sense and irresponsibility! Especially Cd! She was the Anime Club secretary for the past two years until recently, so she should know what to put on TV!!! Besides, for god's sakes, she's in 12th grade, oldest at eighteen yrs. old, the most experienced club officer present, and should know by now the consequences of showing Love Hina to a bunch of people who are new to anime.

Then again, I'm also upset at the other older club members who were too consumed in the manga corner and/or Yu-Gi-Oh card game corner, and did not bother to look up and check on what the rest of the club's watching.

I'm also kinda disappointed at Ankhalianet for not stopping the show when she saw some people, especially the visitors, looking uncomfortable. She's the current president so she holds the power of stopping a movie/show if it becomes inappropriate, but because she's a freshman, I guess she thought that no one would listen to her.

Lastly, I'm mad at myself for putting my trust in Cd in putting something appropriate. She has the tendency to put on whatever she likes to watch. Last year, when I was the president, similar of these incidents almost happened, but I and some of the more responsible officers stop those from ever happening by first off, not offering and removing any DVDs that are not age appropriate in the selection process. Unfortunately, those responsible officers were absent last Friday, too.

Ugh! What a way to end the year.

I haven't had real time to draw or be in the internet due to high school life. ^^; It's difficult being a senior... either that or I'm becoming to lazy...senioritis, I think I'm catching that sickness. I just took the SAT II last Saturday and taking another (final one) in December. I'm applying to the UC's right now and am currently still doing my Personal Statements. To top that off, I'm three essays behind in my Advance Composition class, yet fortunately I'm still getting an A. Extra credit writing assignments can sure help. Then I'm also meeting a deadline for my shool newspaper this Wednesday and all staff and editors are required to stay 'til all articles are in the paper.
On a lighter note, last Friday, Nov. 12, 47 Oguni High School students along with their principal from Oguni, Japan came to their 3rd annual visit to our public high school as part of thier cultural experience in their tour here in America. The Japanese Language classes were to be the host, and the Japanese 3 and 4 students, including me, toured the visiting students and administrators around our school. We were split into groups with 3 student guides, one student bodyguard, and 5 japanese students in each group. It's too bad that none of the Japanese students my group was assigned to tour were guys. XD At least we were not the unlucky ones who had to tour the administrators. :giggle: An assembly was held beforehand, where our principal and their vice principal made their annual speeches, followed by speeches of the student representatives for both sides spoken in each others language, and the exchange of class presents to each other. Their vice principal had good English and so did their student representative Saori.
The highlight of the day, aside from speaking with the students and touring them around, would be the dance presentations the Japanese students performed for us on stage. Their dance told a story of a fisherman (I think), but I was mesmerised by the fluidity and unity of the dance with a somewhat upbeat music. :wow: Some of their movements almost seem like martial arts practice. Sadly, for our performance this (which was done upon the entrance of the Japanese visitors), all we had was some of the students playing DDR on stage with tv connected on the large screen to show the steps. ^^; Last year it was our step team who choreographed and performed their dance for the Japanese students.:nod: It was stupid of me to forget to bring a camera. :( But maybe I can get some images from a classmate who was doing the photography and article on this event for the school newspaper. Better yet, I think I'll just ask a copy of the videotape that our Japanese Language teacher recorded.
I just wished that I could be at my school again next year, since that's when they'll have a student exchange program where two students taking Japanese class will be selected to study in Japan for a semester, and vice versa to the Japanese students. I at least wanted to be the host family. ^^

Oh yeah, last night my sister and I watched the 1 1/2 hour movie Ju-On, the Japanese version of The Grudge, borrowed from a guy friend. We were scared Shitless!!! Those images were dreadful and unforgetable! I don't ever want to make that noise again with the back of my throat. I keep seeing them right now in my mind. *shudders* I've never seen the english version, and I don't think I ever want to see it either. Must now think of happy thoughts!!! Note: never recall a horror film alone in the dark at nearly midnight, sitting in front of the computer screen.

For closure (*trying to forget the movie*), watching a Yu-Gi-Oh episode today along with Gundam Seed last night, I've been once again inspired today to draw. Watch me once again put off my homework for later. *sigh* Procrastination is such a bad habit.

I haven't been in devArt in a while. ^^; I'm not yet dead though. Just been busy with life right now. Just last Saturday, I went to Facilitate for the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks Basketball Clinic for the morning session. I and a couple of my councel peers taught the Team Development Model to the students who signed up in the morning program. The model shows the phases of groups/teams, including the Dissatisfaction stage, and how normal it is to have those in a team. Got 14 hours worth of volunteer services for it, including the precamp/preparation stages. Also, I got a free T-shirt and tickets for the Spark's opening game on Sept. 1st or on Sept. 3rd's game, but I'm not sure if I'm able to go yet.

Just today, I went to another meeting to prepare to facilitate on Friday's training/orientation on the new student leadership councelors for my old middle school. I will also get volunteer hours for today and Friday. Trying to get my volunteer hours done for high school.

Lately, I've been uninspired to draw. Anything I draw turns crappy. I did turn in one Atem fanart in my scraps since it's not yet done. Part of the reason I've been unable to draw is my PS2. I've been hooked on it too. ^^; Sadly, I did not own a single game consul and video game until this August. And I'm trying to have as much fun of it before school starts, since I won't be able to touch it, unless it's the weekends, once school begins. Which reminds me, I know the reason why my school starts so late on a Thursday. It seems that the majority of the schools, except for the one I go to, in the LAUSD system is on a block schedule, meaning that the class subjects would rotate each day. This also means, though, that school would end somewhere around late June instead of mid-June. *sigh* That's the downside to it.

There's also been good news. Just two weeks ago my 3 month lost female german shepard has been found. :boogie: I missed her so much! Glad to welcome her back to the family. :D The animal shelter mailed to us to retrieve her. The pound turned out to be 20+ miles away from our home.

At Buffalo Bills, *Ankhalianet and I had a grand time playing at the arcade. Best yet, we had no curfew and stayed in the arcade til midnight, until we decided to turn it in for the night. Our parents gave me the spare room key and we were free to leave the room unsupervised as long as we inform them where we are goin and meet them at the designated time and place. Bad news is that I spent 40+ dollars at the arcade! I coulda put those in better use. *_* But it was fun playing DDR. Never tried to play it before now, so I was just at the beginner level. Tried to play in level normal and it wasn't pretty. ^^; Need more practice. Good thing that there were only few people at the arcade and no one watching to see the spectacle. Also attempted to play Hip hop mania and I have no skills at all in it too.

Besides being in the arcade, I also went to the outlet/mall connected to the Prima Donna Hotel & Casino. Took the monorail to prevent the heat outside. Bought some brand clothes there for a good price along with some incense sticks. Ironic thing is I spent less at the outlet than in the arcade. I coulda been somewhat richer if I didn't use up the money my parents gave me to spend, but I just couldn't resist.

You won't be disappointed. :D ]]> ~kuroi-fayth Universal Studios: Fun, but Exhausted http://kuroi-fayth.deviantart.com/journal/2773828/ http://kuroi-fayth.deviantart.com/journal/2773828/ Wed, 30 Jun 2004 18:42:24 PDT I waited for about an hour for the Mummy but it was worth it. ^_^ It was mostly pitched black through the ride with glimpses streaks of mummies overhead. I felt the ride go into loops and sharp, twisted turns but I wouldn't know since I couldn't see, or rather I kept my eyes closed most of the time. ^^; There was a moment there when I thought I would hit the oncoming dead end of a wall at high speed but fortunately the ride came to a screeching halt. I thought that the wall would open up, but unfortunately the rollercoaster went on a reverse, backwards course onto a different track, plunging the riders into another dept of darkness and adrenaline rush. I would never, ever sit on a front row of a ride ever again. (Yeah, right) You can see the horrified looks of the riders on my webcam or through this [link] . Laugh all you want, cuz I thought it was funny too.

I had fun at the theme park, but I don't feel like typing it down now. ankhalianet has written a summary of what we went to in her journal through her point of view.

Anyway, today I finished coloring my latest projects on Magicians, using mostly colored pencils. It'll be up soon.

The good news is that now that the APs are soon done, I no longer have to listen to lectures. Instead the students of AP Calc and Chem would either be tutoring others or be teacher's assistants to other teachers throughout the school. I can't wait til summer vacation arrives...
