So I thought I would give an update of my life for those of you who care.

I am a sophomore in college, getting my AA next semester and maybe graduating the winter after next.
I work part time at a hospital, in both the radiology and medical records department.
I'm an English/Advertising major.
I live on campus and love it.
Hopefully getting an apartment in the spring though.

Still alive, still nerdy.
Got a busy year ahead with conventions, work, classes and life.
Might be doing a foreign exchange trip, we shall see.

1.) 5(Maeron) and 7(Aaron) are trapped in a room. There's only one window 12 feet above the ground. How do they get out?

Maeron lets Aaron stand on his shoulder's and lets him jump out. Aaron then leaves Maeron because he doesn't like him. XD

Maeron is screwed.

2.) 2 (Mika), 4, (Izzi) and 9(Wei) are on a shopping spree and they all find something they all want...but there's only one left. Who gets it?

Well, one, that's a friggin bizzare group to be shopping. I think Mika would let Izzi or Wei have it, but they wouldn't notice because Izzi would be killing Wei.

3.) 1(Ryouko) and 8(Bree) have a break dancing contest. Who would win?

-____- Okkkaaayy... Ryouko. She's a friggin monkey. Bree wouldn't even try.

4.) Think 11(Ghost) could be a super model?

She's got the body. (and the fashion sense) But not the mentality.

5.) Would 12(Ryal) and 3(Flare) team up to slay a dragon?

Yeah, Flare idolized Ryal.

6.) 7(Aaron) turns out to be a murderer. What does 2(Mika) think of it?

Mika freaks out. She hates killing, and Aaron's a little kid!

7.) Would you ever see 6(Wolfe) and 10(Aya) together?

Oh hell, no. Wolfe is an ass, and Aya's one of the nicest characters. Plus, Wolfe is trying to kill her.

8.) 1(Ryouko) and 4(Izzi) are having a fist fight. What does 8(Bree) do about it?

Bree seperates them. Izzi he's gentle with. Ryouko he kicks. Several times.

He is married to Izzi after all.

9.) Why would 6(Wolfe) be afraid of 7(Aaron)?

Cause 7 ate 9? Uh, cause Aaron has a wrench and knows how to use it.

10.) Who would get to bed earlier? 11(Ghost) or 5(Maeron)?

Mareon hands down. Ghost stays up until 3.

11.) If 2(Mika) had a special plushie but 3(Flare) spilled soda all over it when 2(Mika) was away, what would 3(Flare) do to cover it up?

Buy her a ton of new plushies... and take her out to eat... and buy her a lot of chocalate. Not out of fear from Mika, but out of fear from Ryouko. She's uber protective, and quite creative.

12.) Would 6(Wolfe) steal something if they had a chance?

Steal, kill, all that jazz.

13.) If 7(Aaron) ever dressed up in a dress, what would 12(Ryal) think?

... She would just walk away.

14.) Who's smarter? 10(Aya) or 9(Wei)?

Wei, though Aya's no idiot. He's an ass, but clever.

15.) Does 4(Izzi) get embarrassed by 7(Aaron) a lot?

No, not often. Aaron's young, but not stupid.

:0 What a bizzare choice. Wolfe, if only because he wouldn't try to seduce the students. No wait... he would.

No, but she is supposed to be cute.

3) 12(Ryal) sends 8(Bree) on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?

Ryal sends Bree on some uber secret spy mission. It doesn't happen because Bree is over 6 feet tall, and unable to go anywhere without attracting attention.

4) What is, or would be, 9(Wei)'s favorite book?

What was that one by Karl Marx? The Communist Manifesto or something?

5) Would it make more sense for 2(Mika) to swear fealty to 6(Wolfe), or the other way around?

Neither, but I'd say Wolfe would be more likely to swear fealty to Mika.

6) For some reason, 5(Maeron) is looking for a roommate. Should they share a studio apartment with 9(Wei), or 10(Aya)?

Aya for sure. At least, twords the end of the series.

7) 2(Mika), 7(Aaron), and 12(Ryal) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?

They go to Olive Garden and discuss the paradox that Mika was born after Ryal dies.

8) 3(Flare) challenges 10(Aya) to a duel. What happens?

Aya runs away screaming. Flare's kick ass with her sword.

9) If 1(Ryouko) stole 8(Bree)'s most precious possession, how would they get it back?

The recruitment person had talked to the professors after my last interview and they don't think I'm ready for this year. She suggested that I just go to my local community college for a year, get some more training and then try again. This would put me back on my plans a year, but this school is something I've wanted for a long time.

I have a few other options as well. I could go to UNF and study graphic design or something of the like. I've also considered transfering to UCF after a year or two and studying animation or movie production.

The thing is I wanted to go to Florida School of the Arts, and if I knew I would get in next year I would do it in a heart beat. I really don't know...

I'm in town now, and have full possesion of my computer, just in case you haven't figured that yet.

About my art though, I have a complaint. It reallllllllly irks me to see art that is worse than mine with a billion and a half favorites because it's fanart. Not that fan art is bad, I'd just like to get credit for the images and characters I've worked so hard on.

I think I'm gonna do an experiment and submit a bit of fanart, and see what response it generates. On that note, anyone you'd like to suggest I draw?


On another note, I've really been working on The Tide is Rising, as you can see from my most recent submissions. I have three pages done, and when I have more, I'll post the link. I've been working on TR for about a year now, and now I'm finally comfy enough with my art to really take it somewhere.

Ryouko was walking through a lovely meadow, laughing at the butterflies flitting around her head when she spied a Japanese little tiger lying under a tree.

Ryouko skipped over to see the dear thing and was poofy to find that he was hurt! A Kuro-pon had pierced his transparent little ear and he whimpered killable with the pain.

"My green little friend," Ryouko said. "Let me help you!" She took out her Leatherman Multi-Purpose tool and pulled out the Kuro-pon, as friskily as she could. The tiger cried out and Ryouko's heart ached, similar to the way Ayeka is a hobo.. "You'll be all right," Ryouko whispered. "I'll take care of you. I'll call you Fai and you can live with me forever!"

Scooping Fai up in her arms, Ryouko carried him home and made a bed for him beside her own. For seven days and seven nights, Ryouko nursed Fai, cleaning his ear and feeding him Scum-brand tiger chow.

On the eighth night, Fai climbed into bed with Ryouko. He burrowed under the covers and adoringly robed Ryouko's toes. It made Ryouko giggle and she cuddled close to Fai, stroking his wenus and singing lively to him.

They continued that way for a long time. Every day, Ryouko hurried home so she could curl up with Fai. It gave her a redish feeling whenever Fai robed her toes.

Then one night, Fai looked up at Ryouko and said, "If you kiss me, I will become a lickable prince."

Ryouko screamed duckily, she was so surprised. How could a tiger talk? She must have dropped off and dreamed it.

"You're not dreaming," Fai said. "Kiss me."

"Don't tell anyone I screamed like that," Ryouko said and kissed Fai on his wenus. The air swirled and suddenly, there stood a lickable prince! With a crown and everything!

"I'm Prince Fai," he said. "I was cursed. It's a long story."

"Is it really you?" Ryouko said.

"See?" Fai said and showed Ryouko the scar from the Kuro-pon on his ear. Then he kissed Ryouko and they tumbled near Sayoran and did a lot of very tickilish things, some of them involving a little-bity Mokona.

"I love you," Fai said when they were done. Ryouko clasped him close and they lived together happily ever after on all the prince treasure Fai had stashed away.

And if Fai didn't know about Ryouko's visits to the tiger sanctuary, well, it wouldn't hurt him.

Around 6:30 my dad tells me and my sibilings that it's time for dinner, we get to forage something from the fridge. I'm not hungry. So I ask my dad why we have to eat so early. He replies something along the lines of your sister has soccer practice. Then he gets really pissed of and tells me I have to eat cause he told me to. Yeah.

Then he pull me and my sibilings out to the living room about 30 minutes later. We all get lectured about doing our chores around the house, which I haven't gotten in trouble about for weeks. Uh-huh...

Later I had to help my little brother with his spelling homework, and we're on the last word, Pride. He keeps telling me it's spelled pide, and when I tell him it's not he keeps arguing and saying I'm saying it's spelled wrong, when he is obviously right. Did I mention that he's 7?

So then he runs to mom and throws a crying fit in her bed. I get in trouble.

Yay!

O.K, I dunno how may people will actully read that, but I feel so much better now.

This paper will examen the works of Maurits Cornelis Escher; better known as MC Escher. Escher is an optical artist, one of the most famous. (World of Escher) However, to help better understand his works, I will be giving and overview of his life, in addition to my interpretation of his works, and optical art in general.
MC Escher was born on June seventeenth, eighteen ninety-eight in Leeuwarden, the third son of GA Escher, and engineer; and a government minister’s daughter, his second wife. (World of Escher) He lived in the Netherlands for his first five years of age. ( Escher Foundation)
Escher failed his high school exams, but enrolled in The School for Architecture and decorative arts in Haarlem. After a mere week he told his father that he would rather study graphic design, and showed his works to his father. Escher’s father encouraged his son to continue. (Escher Foundation)
After graduating Escher traveled across Italy, meeting Jetta Umiker; who would later become his wife. The young couple married in nineteen twenty-four and settled down in Rome, where Escher would live for the next eleven years. However, Escher frequently made trip back to Italy, drawing and doing sketches that he would use for various prints at home. (Escher Foundation.)
Soon after getting married Escher would become the father of three children. George; born the twenty-third of June in nineteen twenty-six, then Arthur; born on the eighth of December in nineteen twenty-eight. His wife gave birth to a daughter almost ten years later, making Escher the father of Jan; born the sixth of March, nineteen thirty-eight. (Escher Foundation)
During a series of lectures in North America Escher fell ill. He never regained full health, and died in a hospital five years later. (World of Escher)
To this day Escher enjoys a reputation as one of the greatest graphic artists of all time. His works are memorable, and they attract fans of all ages. To understand why, you must first look at his works. For example, if you look at Escher’s graphite drawing Order and Chaos you can see many examples of contrast, a vital element in any kind of two dimensional artwork. Contrast is, by definition “to show in such a way as to show difference.” (The Merriam- Webster Dictionary)
In this image Escher used contrast in several different ways. To start, the image is contrasting in the most literal sense of the word. Despite the fact that the image is monochromatic there is a large distinction in the shadows and highlights of the image.
However, there is a large contrast in the image itself, a contrast that is not as noticeable, however the image’s title, Order and Contrast suggests this. The subject itself, a many-sided three dimensional polygon, which is surrounded by “flawed” items seen frequently in real life. For example, surrounding the central image is broken glass, aa cracked eggshell, and crumpled paper, drawn with such skill that they almost seem real. Escher chose such subjects because, to him, they represents the opposite ends of the spectrum. The National Gallery of Art (NCA) had this to say about the piece;” Escher described this print as a symbol of order and chaos: order represents by th polyhedron and the translucent sphere; chaos depicted by the surrounding broken and crumpled cast-off objects of daily life. The artist believed the polyhedron (a solid figure with many sides) symbolized order, beauty, and harmony in the universe. Yet, he rendered chaos with equal care, as in the exquisitely drawn sardine can in the upper left. ([link]) To further understand Escher’s works, here’s an analysis of one of his better known images, Drawing Hands. This is a prime example of Escher’s tendency to take a two dimensional image, and render it to seem three dimensional. Unlike the previously mentioned image, Drawing hands is a lithograph. For the realistic rendering of the hands featured in the image, Escher used his own right hand. Again, Escher’s image is virtually flawless, with a perfect study of light and shadows. While Order and Chaos, and Drawing hands are beautifully rendered, Escher is know for another type of art; his impossible figures. By impossible figures, it is meant images that seem realistic on a two-dimensional surface, but that are impossible to recreate in a physical manor. For example, look at the print Waterfall, the second to last image done before Escher’s death. My mother over reacted a little. She told me that I would never be able to go to college, and that I would have to live at home.

She also told me I couldn't do anything that takes longer that 10 minutes without telling her, and that she was going through my room to remove all "distractions".

Uhh... I can't take any honours classes next year, nor ant classes online.

Never mind that my GPA is 3.2666 weighted.
