Either way. XD my Dreams of Altier project goes slowly but it goes. I've just started doodling up the main cast. On top of that I've finally found my model references I wanted to use to draw a few of my own idea's as well as some promised art (Yes Saf I know your waiting ..... please D: put down the tankadin! He cries enough kittens you dont' need to beat me with him QQ )

I should have some new art up by tonight. Non-project related just some characters I came up with and doodled.

Thus ended the dream at the light of dawn.

At least this how the story began back in almost 2000-2003 when I first began the project. Nearly 6 years later I've picked up my sword (pen) and began reviving my own novel idea. I've gotten much better about how to write and picked up some new techniques along the way that I actually do want to start up my story once more and finish it.

I recently picked up a lovely little Art Journal book in which I started to sketch out and add notes to all the details about my Story Dreams of Altier The original prologue and Chapter with all it's errors can be found here on my Old Old Elfwood page: [link]

When I'm done with my notebook I may take the time to post it up here on DeviantArt or find the time and cash to make a descent web page for it.

who knows I might even publish it.

Currently I am working part time, with insurance benefits and free gym membership at a health club out here in California.

Thanks to my wonderful Father, and ultra awesome roommate Haro-chan, I've gotten both a new tablet and scanner/printer combo though the scanner/printer is for both of us. Tablet is allll mine

Either way I'll be putting both to good use once I get a little more set up. But! it's allowing me to at least work on my actually sketchings.

So =/ I'm probably going to quit the job I have after 2 years of busting my ass I no longer feel the desire of doing it any longer. Not because I'm lazy or anything like that. I just no longer can stomach going in, breaking my back on those boxes, and being treated like shit by people. The more and more I see how society/humanity treats something as simple as a greeting card on a near daily basis...... the more and more I get disgusted with it. And it doesn't help that the company itself is sending me so much crap in the mail that I get annoyed by reading it.

So most likely later I'll be going to my email box sending my boss a reply and telling her "Good luck finding people for white plains, I just can't do it anymore, it's been a fun 2years."

=/ From now until Feb of 09 I till need to pull in an income to save up for my big move. This is not going to be easy..... hopefully the video game store needs folks, at least even in retail it'll be doing something I enjoy....

On the up and up I'm still sketching somewhat and will most likely be looking to see who out there will buy a commission / print off of me.

I do need to increase my portfolio again. I've been slacking a bit.

Geez there's so much to really talk about I'm not sure where to begin first....

I'll do two posts. One for personal and one for Con related stuff....

So on thursday Mel and I got up super early... like at 5:30 and tra-lala'ed to the booth to go wait till things got started. I think I fell asleep at some point while sitting at my dad's borrowed laptop (which I won to use in a bet. haha and he said I couldn't read HP7 before monday.) 9 am rolled around and we pattered to the art auction. There I hung up 11 prints for sale. A Mix of Fanart and Original work.

During the day I found time to trot into the room and check on my status. It was sometime that day I noticed that my first piece had sold! An Inu Yasha bust shot chibi print I did for a t-shirt project (that flopped) sold! And the first day wasn't even over!

The Dealers room was HAWT. they had a HUGE Replica of the Black Pearl sitting on the rocks. Lots of beautifully designed booths this year.

Later that night we hooked up with Mel's friend Shay and She and I finished off Okami to get all 100 Beads. Which oddly enough you can still drown but you can't get hurt in battle....... sweeet. Oddly enough.... you can still drown.... (boo)

So Friday morning we got up at 5 am.... or rather we woke up a tad bit late. Made it to the Convention without too much hassle....... except for a broken trolly bar... so after a detour we made it to the parking lot. Went upstairs to the booth, where all 3 of us ducked under the tables behind the booth and promptly fell asleep.....

APPARENTLY! the AC is left on all night.... so it was about 40 degree's in the convention center.....

I froze my ass off...... D: FROZEN I SAY!

So close to 9 am we wandered downstairs and purchased a cup of hot tea and hot coco. After warming up Shay and I made our madman dash thru the dealers room and raided booths like it was no ones Business.

Mel purchased an early x-mas gift for me, - Manga Studio -

I purchased new art binders for myself, Copic markers, the latest issue of the FMA Manga, 2 Art prints from Sue Dawe (whom I met on Friday), as well as bidded on a piece in the art show. I also got myself another book.... can't say too much about it it's Blythe's birthday gift.

After running around on errands, answering dumb questions ("Where's the registration line?" *my thoughts* how they hell did you get this far without a pass)we headed home and proceeded to watch Shaun of the Dead and falling asleep after gorging ourselves on Rice crispy treats.

First off, happy birthday (belated) miss Helen and Travis.. may the next one be just as joyful.

Woke up at Ungodly 5:30 am again to get myself up on time for the Con. This time we planned smart and packed all the blankets and junk in the car the night before. When we got to the con we got inside headed up to the Masquerade booth and rolled under the table. THIS TIME WITH BLANKIES! and promptly returned to sleep for another few hours. Much more comfortable sleep when your warm....

At around 9am hit the Dealers room to pick up a few odds and ends. Purchased a beautiful Phoenix (me) and Indiana Jones (mel) print which ended up making me buy a poster tube (DAMN oh well a great investment for other cons). After roaming around a bit more with Shay we stopped at a booth because I noticed some BEAUTIFUL artwork. Apparently it was a small table booth off to the back to the CREATOR of the Last Unicorn. After chatting with him and crying slightly because I didn't have enough money on me that day I returned back to the booth where Shay and I picked up our stuff and ran it back to the car.

Year after year the Comic Con Masquerade always impresses me like crazy. This year was no different. All the costumes where beautiful. the skits kept me rolling in stitches. So Much hard work in all of this. Except......... for the nearly hour long halftime show of Pirates VS Ninjas.

It was bad enough their troupe was well.... boring skit wise... the costumes where bad and the Jack Sparrow they had took our Water to drink it assuming it was his....... WTF dude... WTF. Mel was not impressed. Got lots of nummy swag. Met lots of nice people. Spent way more money then I wanted.

but it's all good.

Sold 3 pieces of Artwork.

My Newest work sold for $10 at the Art Show at Comic con! It's not so much the price. Just that it sold! Obviously someone liked it well enough

Also the FMA piece with Ed Elric sold. and scary enough? An Inu Yasha Chibi head sold! I've only put up that art piece once before. So that's really great! Apparently it sold so fast that it was gone on THURSDAY the same day that I put the art up!

Scary. But I'm proud.

Money is always an issue. Apparently DA shops won't give me my commission until I've made $25

I've only made $9... Sucks doesn't it? Oh well $9 is better then Zero too bad I can't put that into my pocket. Such is life....

Gotta start working on more one Character designs for interest. Less illustrations? So that the image isn't confined within a certain shape?

I think I finally got out of my funk. I am drawing again and that's what's good about this journal post. I think the major factor that was keeping me from drawing has now been solved. Finally I can return to my passions and do what I can to make pretty.

I recently posted Fanart for Gundam Wing..... well of the Gundam Wing Boys.... ^_~ just not in their normal clothes. I can't talk about it much here I dont' want to jinx anything. Feel free to note me if your interested

Other then that I'm currently working on a new piece of my beloved Unmei Kono and her uni Diana/Destiny I had two names for the pony only because I couldn't figure which was better..... though I'm probably sticking with Diana.. :3

I got into Romeo and Juliet the Anime and it is AMAZING. Art, Music, Plot...... totally not your Shakespearean Play. If you can find out more about this Anime. Do so and WATCH IT.

Any who once I flesh out this sketch more I'll post it for all to see. Once I finish it I get started on my new Project.

Maybe... I'm not sure why I wanted to post ancient art of 1997+ on DA.... i think it was mostly so I can just look back at what I've done and where I am and go "Hey.... I've gotten somewhere......."

Have I? I get people telling me they'll buy prints but never do. People who bid on my artwork at Shows but never show up to claim it. My business cards fly off the little card stands at the art shows at Cons.

So what am I missing?

Maybe it's just all in my head.

So I'll be attending Manga Next this weekend for 1 day. I'm going to be checking out the Workshop about publishing my own comic/Doujinshi. Could be informative T_T all the other cool panels are on the days I can't make it . or waay too late in the evening (Crap!)

I've just been so tired and drained that it took a long while. But now that I no longer work 2 jobs I have more time for my art.

Well in previous years this has to be my worst one yet. Not only did I no sell alot I barely sold any at all. I was so disappointed about that and felt like crying a just a little. I lost so much sleep and my health was basically kicked out the back door while I worked that it saddens me that trying to kill yourself from your Craft didn't pay off.

Report:

I missed a few things from the night before and even on saturday:

Saturday: During the Cosplay masquerade some guy who came to Anime Next as a fan desided to get on stage as a "Skit" and publicly announced to his girlfriend of some years to ask for her hand in marriage. It was the sweetest thing I have EVER seen...... I was literally brought to tears. ITS ON YOU TUBE GO LOOK!

On Sunday it turns out that our friend Deb forgot her favorite bag in the Hotel room.

soon as I can save up some money I'm going to mail it to her. ^____^ as well as all the stuff that I got for people @_@

So we woke up early on Monday. Had a little breakfast together packed slowly and was ready to leave 1 hour before check out time. The Last days are always the saddest at Con time mostly because it'll probably be another year before I get to see any of these familiar faces again. (Except you Chu and B-chan...... I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!)

So it was pretty much a nice ride home of quoting, Pishawing and Dinkdinking on the way. First we parted with Kiyo and Pinkie who had to drive back down to PA. Then we parted ways with FMJ and her sister Terra at Grand Central in the subways before parting ways with Chibi near the Metro North Train line.

So B-chan and I made our way home. Me lugging my 2 ton suit case behind me much easier then before and all that good sport. She was nice enough to help me get close to my Apartment building before splitting off from me there. Made my way inside the house scared the kitty back inside. Dropped off my junk and took a nap.

Thus ending my Con weekend vacation..........

ps. I think I need another vacation from the vacation.

Mission: Get Saiyuki signed for Lirin, Buy VIc's CD, Continue to pwn Dealers room for cheeper deals, survive Rangers After party. Pack for Travel the Next Day.

Report:
Wake up at 8:30 am. Alert B-chan and Chu as to Kagome-Girls lack of paying up right off the bat. And that no matter what this girl cannot be left ALONE until she pays up for her share of the room. I think it was either B-chan or Chu that alerted me later that Kagome-Girl was awake when I told them and over heard what I said. Apparently we scared her. Good... that'll make sure she pays up on time. So since I made a promise I would try to tape the prayer service for Caitlin and Vic this morning I packed up what I had for the day and trotted off with Kiyo to go filming.

It was a lovely service really..... I didn't combust into flames as I originally thought. (I haven't been into a church in ..... oh I dunno how long and I'm no where near a saint so...) Either way it was a very nice service, I guess I can say I was a little touched by how much faith they both had in their belief. And oddly enough there's alot of what they said that made sense and that I as an individual believe in myself. But I won't get into my religious views here and now...... I'll save that for my rant journal. By the time Kiyo and I arrived we found only one seat left and it became standing room only...... really. I could have sworn that Vic compaired God to a radioactive Mecha...... but that could have been just our brains being fried from the Rave and the late night we had ........ maybe...... ( I should check the tapes........) Anyways so the service was nice, I got to thank Vic and Caitlin later after the service was over. Unfortunately I only got the first half of the service.... not only did my battery died but I ran out of tap (Left the other two cassettes upstairs in my room .......damn) They did two nice songs of course both I had no clue as to what they are but they sounded nice and I enjoyed filming what I could for Miss Helen.

So after that was done we jogged back to the Hotel room to change into Muraki and Oriya. Then headed out to go get our photo's done at the Fansview booth. This time the photo wasn't bad..... I just wish I had on the Third layer to the costume...... >< why do I always photograph BADLY! ::Spazzes out:: I swear it was like he didn't want to wait for us to get into position right..... >< foof.

Sunday must have been the hotest day at the Con because HOLY CRAP I WAS ROASTING in my Kimono's........ (T_____T Oriya-puppy goes pantpant-water-pantpant.) So Neither one of us lasted really long. We ran through the Dealers room one more time and got soem good discounted deals on things!

I was able to pick up:
2 new inking pens (T____T YAY my cats stole the others)
A Haro Clock for Mel in California (she loves Haro's)
YAOI PADDEL (beware all smexy friend rears bwahahahaha)

So after we where done with the dealers room we realised we had way too much time on our hands..... SO we ran back to the Hotel to change into normal clothes (because damn it was hot in those robes) well me into normal clothes Kiyo put back on her Series Ed outfit only because she didn't get the photo of her in the outfit last time.

So all was good and I rejumped the line to get Autographs for Lirin and Palmtree incase I missed any last round. So I got things signed except for Lirin's Pretear.... (Goodnight/Goodknight poofed on the con on the last day boooo). But Highlights of what happened:

Well first a little bit of rewinding. At yesterdays Fullmetal Supershow panel one person asked if they've been reading up on the Manga chapters, especially on the relationship of Roy and Riza..... the VA's didn't know and it reminded me of the email that I sent to Colleen...... sooooooo this brings us back to Sunday......

Report:

So like clockwork we rolled out of bed at about 8 am, Myself and my 6 other roomies consisting of, Pinkie, Kiyoko, B-chan, Kagome-Girl, Chu and Deb refreshed ourselves and planned out what area's to hit. We ran out early to go see one pannel then shuffled on back to get redressed into our Cosplays, Pinkie cosplayed as Nina while carrying around a little stuffed doll of Alexander. Kiyoko Dressed up as Movie!Ed, while I donned my Hawkeye Costume after some difficulties with the wig (...I hate that wig...) then shuffled off to Fans view to get a photo opp. Something I didn't do as Lacus only because I was tired and my feet hurt too much to bother looking for the guy. Plus he was late.

::edit:: B-chan did wear her Paninya Costume but GASP!!! To our horrors all our hard work on the automail leg went to waste. >< her calf grew from her last fitting......or maybe the material shrank.......... ::frown:: oh well try again for next year. Either way she was rocking as Paninya XD she even did he run to catch up with an Axel and Saix (KH2 characters) to get their photo. Go B-chan Go!

........ okay XD the picture he took very BAD for me. Really horrible in fact I look like I'm stretching my face out longer then I should or I'm in mid yawn...... >< Oh why oh why did he picked that one....... that's it I'll take a few of myself sooner or later..... >< bad photo bad...... ::Sobs:: anywho......

So once that was over Kiyo and I dashed off to go make the Ranger Meeting. I met up with FMJ, and Shanasha (from the chatroom) as well as Pride, Nana, and Jennaaaaaah. We rounded up some of the troups and continued to wait for a few more minutes to see who would show, when lo and behold who should walk by us but our dear Leader himself with a small herd of followers at his feet. (Oh no fan-noobs ahoy!) So FMJ and I call out to him and asked where he was going, thinking the busy man must had forgotten about his promise. He then replied something like 'Oh I have another event planned right now' I know I blinked and so did Ama when one of us pointed out, "Hey Leader! We're your event!" ::hits the pause button:: okay here's where I go into Fangirl mode....... ::unhits pause:: So I believe what was said was "Oh! Okay then lets go!" Next thing I know the man is holding me hand to go take the herd of Rangers with him *SWOON*. Okay enough fangirling...... We had a small problem...... not only did the Rangers follow...... but the Fan-noobs did too....... As I started to fall back in line and asked Shana to lead the group I started asking if anyone was a Risembool Ranger, Those who said yes I ushered ahead those who said no I asked them to politely stop following our group because it was a club meeting event and not open to most of the public (unless they wanted to join fufufu).

So the picnic gets off without a hitch after that. Blankets are passed out and Vic not only gets raspberries from myself, but from this addorable little Ranger girl (probably the daughter of WrathsoCute on the group). XD haha but they forgot the one important thing...... the dark chocolate sauce...... points for me! The man made out like a bandit really....... Rasberries, the chocolate dip sauce, 2 bags of milkyway darks, and a nice looking bag signed by the Rangers

The butterflies left my stomach as we all started to laugh and enjoy things..... There was this really shy girl who wanted to come over but she just sorta stared in awe then sat on a bench. So I went over and introduced myself, told us what the group was about and if she wanted to join us she was more then welcome to do so. But she declined and promised to look for us online.

Hope she joined.

Mission: Get items signed by VA's, put up art work...... pwn the dealers room.

Report:

Well magically we all manage to get up by 8am. Shower and get dressed for the day. Kiyo walked around as Series Ed, while I believe the rest of us walked around like normal people. Our first mission was to get inside and see the AMV's. Sadly not alot of really good ones only a few to be exact...... but naturally like last year the guy who did "Real Ninja's" came back and pwned us hard core for a new video called "Lifestyles of the Animated and Fabulous" (Pimp my Alchemist). Once we where done there we had about oohhhh just a little over an hour to do stuff so I tried to check in my artwork.. Too early they said so I wandered off to wait for the signings figuring if I got there early enough I could get my things signed and get off the line to have much more to do.

We ran into our friend Deb and even though she was older then us and we love her anyways. It came with lovely perks..... XD we got to be like 5th in line because of her cane. WHOOT YAY For DEB! Actually we ended up being 5th in line anyways but having Deb there just insured that we got to stay there as well.

hehe and thus the time of great signings began. I had butterflies my stomach the whole time. For good reasons too..... Vic practically dared me to find something that I could get signed that would ultimately embarress him. And I did........

Okay rewind a few months back, I had emailed our dear Risembool Ranger leader Vic about some of the oddest things he's had to sign in his career after hearing that Scott McNiel signed a boob. So somehow in this conversation the man mentions that if there was ANYTHING I'd like for him to sign he would do it. I did give him fair warning that if he said ANYTHING it might not be too pretty. He said he trusted me. (Dangerous words Vic....... very dangerous......).

Okay Flash back to the now, so I had my best friends Chibi and B-chan surrounding me so I couldn't back down from this little prank. I calmly leaned forward a little on the table and introduced myself as Ranger ReiUnit1 from the chatroom and reminded him about his email of the ANYTHING to sign. So I opened the box and pulled out the lace thong I had gotten months ago at Victoria's secret..... (I swear to you all i have NEVER worn it... I just got it because.... it was the only thing nice they had for the free coupon card). I think I embarressed Caitlin which made me embarressed well because...... I didn't want to offend them at all. It was a silly joke really, I'm glad they can take a gag even if it was slightly pervy (XD I'm sorry!!). After a good chuckle I got what I really wanted signed signed and skipped along my merry way. Put up my artwork. Met with Mandy and the other Rangers that day. Got Blomped and boob crushed to the point where I was like "Eek can't breath". Then skipped off to the hotel to put on my first Cosplay of the weekend.

OKAY THOSE SHOES REALLY HURT! I was dressed as Lacus Clyne for most of saturday but my feet inside those pointed shoes KILLED. the wig and makeup took too long to get settled on. But after that thankfully after it was done I had a few photo opps of me with my Haro........ even though I think more people took pictures of my Haro then of me...... DAMN YOU PINK HAPPY BALL OF DOOM!!!!! ::Shakes fist:: your suppose to be my prop not the other way around!

So anyways....... ran though the dealers room with Kiyoko after meeting up with our 7th roomie who we call Kagome-Girl just to keep her seperated from anyone else with the same name (she irked me lots..... more on that later). I GOT A HOLD OF LOTS OF HAPPY THINGS!

Caught up on my Manga, got the third novel for FMA at a lower price then the book stores (yay). Then Found the one goal I had....... T____T A cheeper version of the FMA Material's books...... now I have an entire book to all the character designs...... So we dragged all our junk, food, sugar, drinks, clothes..... cosplays along the streets of my home town and then some.We started off stopping every..... oh 5 -10 mins only because everything was such a pain in the rear to lug around. But we made it to Secaucus, NJ alright and in good time.....

Oddly enough we met some really nice people. and in New York too, that's really surprising ^_^; oh well a nice person is a nice person.

So we get there toss our junk into hotel storage till check in, run to Burger King, watched Chu eat a triple whopper in one sitting (I'm convinced the little one has a void in her tummy). After we eat we check in with FMJ, then wait for Kiyo and Pinkie to arrive in NJ from PA. So while waiting I curled up by Chu's feet and go to sleep. It was quite comfortable that day so here we are on a bench Chu is reading and I'm sleeping.

Next thing I know my pants vibrate (whoohoo!) and it's Kiyo calling to say they arrive. Thus completely Check in.

WE HAVE OUR ROOM!

So we grabbed the desk and move it across the room and start clearing outa space for Chu's air matress to sleep on. So basically after that we just sorta moved in unpacked all the junkfood onto the desk then waited around till FMJ was off shift at Anime Next so we can go and pwn some dinner into our stomachs. Thus we did and quite well actually then B-chan showed up and at the other half of my chicken ceaser wrap (goodwrap too but Rei has a tiny stomach some times and often can't finish awhole one in one sitting so I'm glad the food didn't go to waste. :3).

Downside.......the Hotel wised up and put on those things so we couldn't remove the cable wire from the back of the TV......

no PS2 which ment no gamesand no DVD's (Boooooohisssss). So after all that we finally settled in.

After getting our badges, Pinkie, Kiyo, and B-chan getting their photos' taken by a reporter of the NY post....... or was it the Times (no the buggers didn't use those photo's.... BOOOOOOOOO BOOOO I SAY!), we went puttering back to the hotel for some R&R time and attempted to get to sleep at around 11ish?

...... that so did not happen....after about close to an hour we started laughing..... laughing became giggling emensly....... then we started to play around with our Cellphones........ (aka: Cellphone Raving). Only because we found out that our cell phones doubled as flashlights due to how bright they glowed.......... XD

And thus we eventually fell asleep and ended night one of our 5 day adventure.

It wasn't until someone asked me about missions that I didn't give it much thought into updating my really really old price list (from like friggen 2004 I made that list). Anyways..... I'm doing this for two reasons 1 it needs an update, and 2... I want your $money$. I'll break this down nice and easy for all of you. I have three types of mediums to do Comissions under. Dry, Wet and Computer.

Now before you ask why does Dry and Computer Media seperate let me explain. Dry Media covers Pencil, Conte Crayon, Colored pencils, and charcoal. Computer Media work has no different variations other then being how great the detail is. Naturally the harder I work the more I expect as payment (Equivalent Exchange, yo!). There are also different paper sizes to work with a full list of what they are will be posted near the end of this list. Everything will be ranging from lowest cost to highest cost so please consider this when thinking of what you want.

- Dry Media -

Pencil - Easiest of all Mediums. It'll be done by normal soft lead pencils plus mechanical pencils for the details. Will spray down image with fixative to keep it from smudging. Depending on how shaded or not shaded the piece will be will determain price. $5.00 for least shading $15.00 for full shading plus background and crap loads of detail.
(Example of pencil work for $5.00 and for $15.00.)

Charcoal/Conte Crayon - Very dusty medium but not impossible to handle. Will spray down image with fixative to keep it from smudging. Once again depending on how simple or detailed the image is will determine the price. The Lowest I will go is $6.00 to $16.00 for great detailed work.
(Example of charcoal work for $6.00 and $16.00)**NOTE** Since both mediums are almost a like (except Conte gives more richer blacks in the image) I desided to list them together instead of seperately.

Color Pencil - I'll be using Prisma Colored pencils due to the amount of shades you can get with them and over all their a much nicer pencil to work with. But due to the cost of the pencil the cost of working with this material is much higher then the rest of the dry mediums. $8.00 for simple pieces and $18.00 for any piece with high detail.
(Example of Colored Pencil work from $8.00 to $18.00. **NOTE* In both pieces the backgrounds are NOT done with colored pencil their photographs and images that I used. this doesn't mean I can't do some sort of background with the pencils. It's just that at the time these pieces where done I had not.

- Wet Media -

Inks - Just as it says Inks are Inks, all images will be black and white. I have two types to work with. Simple pen inking or using actual india Ink to do the work in. Inks aren't that expensive their just a pain in the ass to work with. Since their not that expensive $6.00 for a low price is pretty fair where as $16.00 for a high detailed image with ink is also fair.
(Example of a Inks colored work for $6.00 I currently have no $16.00 work for display sorry.)

Marker - Once again like the colored pencils I'll be using Prisma Colors primarily. But I do have some Copics and Nekopia markers to add into the mix for further blending. Since the markers contain some level of alcohol in them I normally get sick from using them. However I still love using them since the work comes out so beautifully. Thusly $10.00 for a starting price seems fair enough while $20.00 seems fair enough for a piece with alot of detail.

I desided to Retire one of my prints within the next two years and releasing Sister Prints of a series that go with it. Yeah Faces of the Beast is being retired from prints all together. So if you want a print of this image you can buy a copy of it off my deviantart Page.
