Woah, finally a Daily Deviation after 2 years of doing photography. I was wondering if it'd ever come. I'm glad that photo got it, would've been pissed off it was one of my photos that I didn't try to make good.

As you may have noticed in my previous journal, I finally hit over 100 favs on Marree Train (currently at 102 favs). That being said, I still need 34 more views to reach 1,000 on it.

I bought a 2nd hand Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX Macro today, should have it mid week. I should also have my new Cokin P series setup (2 Grad ND's) tomorrow.

Going to be heading for a drive with the oh-so nice Mr. =inspira on Saturday hopefully, down to the Black Spur drive (Yarra Valley region) for some photos. I'm hoping I can get a photo that will beat Marree Train in popularity and *gasp* get me my first DD?

Today I bought myself one of those slightly dodgy radio flash triggers off eBay so I can remotely shoot my 580EX.

Yesterday I bought two 15cm blue CCFL tubes for my computer :|

First off, school holidays start on Friday :dance: Then on Thursday next week, I'll be starting Work Experience with the photographer that I went to back in March.

Last month I did a shoot for an underage club which didn't go so well, although I'm prepared better for next weeks one. Thank god I did the 1st time free :giggle:

World Cup is on and I'm excited. Australia won nicely against Japan 3 -1, but sadly, they will get their asses kicked by Brazil.
I hope that Poland can win against Germany (will be a nice game to watch, unless Germany completely dominates).

I'm finally going to go through all the photos that I took in Poland & Italy and process them. I'm going to submit a few right after finishing this journal, so keep your eyes out.

Time for another Featured Deviant. It's =Eynowd this time, since he came up with the best title for my moon shot Wishful Thinking


=Eynowd was my first real watcher. At the end of March, I went to the Airshow like I do every 2 years. Took a shitload of photos with my G3 ( About 1000 on the day ). Came home... went through them and posted some on dA. I wasn't expecting much response, as I only had 4 watchers at the time. =Eynowd ( Geoff ) was the first person to truly give me some proper critisism on the photos. He suggested a few things and encouraged me to try them. I have Geoff to thank for getting me into photography. His suggestions & encouragement lead me to keep trying to take nice photos. It's just been uphill since then. I now have 156 people watching me instead of 4.

=Eynowd has a real eye to capture normal everyday objects in a interesting way. The Sydney Opera house has been photographed a zillion times, but his shot is still one of the best I've seen in a while. His really uses some creative cropping in some of his photos He really has an eye to capture some of the simplest objects in the most eye pleasing way

~hypophotogenic is probably one of the nicest people I've met on dA so far. Unfortunately, for some reasons... he doesn't put the good photos that he takes of motorcycles. He really has an eye for getting interesting composition and angles on things. One of my favourite shots in his gallery shows this . He really has an interesting gallery. It has a whole mix of different styles of photography. Ranging from sports to architecture'


I really suggest ALL of you go and have a look at his gallery. Comment on some of his photos and give him a watch, he really deserves it.

Going to get a haircut today :dance:

Still wondering when I can do those photos I have planned. Will most likely be doing them with my friend ~aphoticwater

I think I might start shooting RAW, so I think about my shots more. I'll only be able to fit 90 shots on my 1gb card :tears:

Following on from the huge success of our first event, #Photography is proud to bring you our next live tutorial session with *roy204 and =lewcid!

Most people in the photography community on deviantART are aware of both *roy204 and of course, *photo-class . *roy204 is one of the co-founders of *photo-class, an account used to help educate fellow deviants on the in's and out's of photography techniques, from both behind the lens to post-processing.

All those present at the first tutorial will remember =lewcid and what a fantastic job he did in presenting the first tutorial on photo composition.

These two talented deviants will be combining their efforts to bring you this tutorial which will cover Depth of Field. Like last time it will run for approximately 1 hour, with extra time for Q&A's at the end.

Everyone who attended the first tutorial will recall the sample images used which we were able to embed in the chat screen. For this tutorial, we will bring you a little something extra ... raising the bar of interactivity to the next level.

#Photography is pleased to bring you something that has never been attempted on dAmn before, a live tutorial session!

Recently =lewcid received a Daily Deviation for his tutorial Creative Photography for Beginners. This piece was very well received within the photography community on deviantART, amassing 593 fav’s to date, and a huge amount of positive feedback.

Due to the success of his tutorial, we have invited =lewcid to present a live tutorial session in #Photography. This means you will be able to learn a bit more about photography, and will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the session.

We are very excited about this as it is the first time it has ever been attempted, and will be a landmark in terms of interactivity on dA. We invite you all to come along and be a part of it.

The tutorial will be covering 'Composition in Photography' and will run for approximately 1 hour, plus time for Q&A’s at the end. This tutorial is meant to build upon the basics already covered in =lewcid's first tutorial, Creative Photography for Beginners, so it is highly recommended that you read that in advance.

Where: #Photography
When: Saturday May 7th, 12-noon PST.
(Saturday, May 7th, 7pm GMT.) (find your time for this date)
Please pay careful attention to time zones, as some places are currently observing daylight saving time (DST)

We will also be having prize draws during the session, giving away subscriptions to deviantART, with a grand prize at the end of the session of a 12 month subscription to deviantART PLUS a print account!! All you have to do to be in the draw is be in the room!

My P4 2.8C (SL6Z5 M0 Stepping) is happily running at 3.5gHz.
My Powercolor 128mb 9600XT is happily running at 550mHz core and 760mHz Memory too.

I got 15573 points in 3DMark2001.

EDIT: Woohoo! 5 days of no school, go holidays! Might try get some more photos during this time. I'm not exactly happy today, found out I got 47% on my Algebra maths test! :( I got 91% on the first test (measurement) and 92% on the second one (Pythagoras Theorem), so this is a BIG surprise for me. I got threatened to get bashed by a 30 year old ( I'm only 14 ).

I was going around at my usual pace, and took the corner harder then usual. He was standing near the edge and I somehow managed to spray him.

So he comes up to me while I'm talking to my friends and it basically goes like this:

Him - "Mate, why you got to be a smartarse top cunt and try and spray me?"
Me - "How's that being a smartarse? I wasn't trying to spray you, I was just skating like I always do"
Him - "Bullshit you cunt, you were trying to spray me"
Me - "Dude, wtf.. I was taking the corner sharp.. *i then show him how a stop is done and a tight turn*"
Him - "Mate, I'll bash the shit through you"
Me - "You wouldn't touch a 14 year old, I'll just charge you with assault"
Him - "Fine then.. I'll just get my 13 year old who knows tae-kwon-doe (sp?) to bash you"
Me - "I don't want any trouble"
Him - "Do it again and you'll find a elbow in your face"
Me - "Fine.. try it, but I doubt you'll succeed"
Him - "You're all good on your skates, but we'll see how good you are on your feet"


I doubt he'd seriously bash me. I think just because he's older he thinks he can threaten me just to scare me. What's your opinion on this?
