other than that, not much. i've devoted my creative talents to labeling my BPAL roller bottles and boxes to contain them safely in. so not much to show the world, it's mostly for me. i do have some more photos though, and i will get to that soon...

but right now my first love is sewing silk boxes. the observant viewer will have noted i have uploaded a lot of pictures of boxes lately and i will follow this urge for as long as i have it. it's not over.
i have to get around to take more pics of boxes though because i have a few that i haven't taken pics of and some onesies in my gallery now has a little sibling and has become part of a set.

it all started with the discovery of a series of scents from BPAL and i'm not joking when i say it has changed my life.

well into the new year and i decided to try out the css thingy for my journal. i had some sketches over from the banner contest at vox so i made it a banner for my journal instead. it's from one of my paintings and i like that you can see the texture because texture has been important to me lately.

i submitted a new painting called "guardian" not long ago. that's my latest effort and is really a painting that came from another painting called "rings". it's a painting about soul mates, but my view of it changed. i'm not sure i can explain it in words, if i could i wouldn't need to paint it. so i was amazed it was an angel since i'm not a christian. maybe it's a fairy (what do you think sharmay?). all i know is that she was around for a long time, just sitting there on the easel, and she wasn't complete until she had wings.

i just made myself a stock account. mostly for storing them somewhere but also for sharing in case someone else would like to use them. so far nature and plant shots. i took them for color, i use them with my lace brushes so you rarely see the picture in my work. now you get to see what they originally looked like lol.

i had huge plans to make a seaso n greetings card here but it kinda floated away from me again. we had a nice holiday and jon got me a 100x100cm canvas for xmas. i'm already painting of course, what comes of it will be posted later, when it's done.

i've made a couple of wallpapers from photos i've taken, some new and some old. appearantly my creative juices are flowing again lol.

i have also posted a couple of sketches in scraps, they're live acts and that's not what i'm best at but i have fun when i do it anyway. too bad it doesn't happen very often, if it did i would be better at it than i am. i have been digging deep in old photographs and drawings and i have scanned some of them. i will look them over and put the ones i like up in the near future, probably after a trip to photoshop.

but first i have to make everything ready for the holidays. it shouldn't be a huge job but i like to make a little extra effort to make this time a little special for us.

camera is getting a workout and i have uploaded several drawings and i have more coming plus i'm putting up some of my paintings as prints.
two uploaded today, they are both from after i finished the tarot series. i didn't do the whole deck, i just did a few as an experiment a few years back. i don't have the stamina to do a whole deck i'm afraid.
it was an interesting period of time though, while i made all these, because when you open yourself to that kind of thing it does take you on a journey.

my delicious little gem of a camera has arrived. it came yesterday but then i was so busy taking texture pics and playing with them i forgot to make a journal entry about it.
it's tiny yet able to perform everything i need it to right now. later today i'm gonna go take pics of my old drawings and see what happens when i combine them with the textures i found yesterday. i can't believe all the amazing colors i found, i used them in the one i uploaded yesterday, november garden.
the last digital camera i had was much more expensive yet not nearly as good as this one, but then again i got it in 98 so... lol

oh and the zodiac series: it's done but i have to save them in the right format and stuff before i upload it. i'm using the same stock-giver for them all, for the female and for color/texture.
oh and i've seen lots of zodiac series in here. now i didn't do this to be innovative obviously, i just wanted to stick to the theme thing and for that it's good excercise.

i'm getting more and more amazed by the quality of the stock photos around here. i haven't really done much work with stock-photos of people before, because i've been using stock from as texture and color up until now. so lots for me to explore and the inspiration to do so.

i'm having good days.

some of the people whose stock i have used have gotten back to me and the response has been good, so i'm hopeful the calendar can be printed at some point.
i'm still waiting for permission from most of them though.

yep i did it.
it has been a great excersise in sticking with a theme, but i put it in as design and not art since i used stock and brushes to make it. i needed to do something creative while waiting for my digital camera to arrive (yes i ordered it!!). when it does i have a million ideas but they have to wait for now.
so i made this little project for myself.

my intention was to keep one theme and one technique but yet change each picture to fit the month, both feeling-wise and astrological-wise. i'm not sure how well i did on the astrology-color-side though. i had to keep it very simple, all i did was lighten the skin of the models, making the facial features a little more generic, and put the colors in by painting with my lace brushes. (i made them myself from a book about lace that came with a cd).
i tried to separate the summer and winter by using the round sunny shape for summer/spring and the pointy snow-starry shape for winter/fall.

i haven't made the cover yet, but all the months are in there now. unless i print it i'm not even sure i need a front page so i'm waiting.

i would like to make a a printed calendar and i have asked the people who owns the stock for permission.

now we pretend to have patience.

i found the old photo cd where i have some of my older work in high resolution, so i'm playing a little with them and putting them up as prints. i have been going through distinct phases and it shows in what i do. i don't know if i keep getting better but i know that my work really changes from phase to phase.
