Oy! 2006 is over and it's been a while since i've done more than a pit stop here!

So much has changed!

I landed a new job, though I feel it's so much more! Last six months have been surreal. I'm now handling software architecture (usability/ergonomics) on ITV and Mobile platforms which rocks. Younger, I thought I'd be an architect son I guess this is kind of like coming home, shaping virtual spaces that inhabit our daily lives. I feel priviledged and primed! I'm writing this from Vancouver, hard at work, LVL Studio rocks big time!

I've moved twice in 3 months which was insane work but home is starting to feel like home, especially now that home means I'm going home to my girl Eve and baby Arielle. And that f*^#^@ rocks!

The comic is still coming together, though slower than expected but the results are mad good! I feel like I'm in the driver's seat and I'm finally making things happen.

I'll check with my bro LeMal (who is my partner in crime on this comic adventure) and might post some colored pages soon...

And Hi to muadhnait. Sorry I wasn't around. My deepest regrets for your grandparents. I know how it is to see your life's pillars fade away. I see you are even stronger now. You go and carve the world in your image!

Thanks to all of you who drop by and read the twice annual posts of this pseudo-artist

So I finished all the pencilling for the first issue of a Western comic! Thn I decided to start 6 pages over again!

But now I am done and down to inking, I've actually inked my first page this week-end, you can see it in my gallery!

Starting to put thought in a logo design for the covers and for color shemes/treatment!

This has been a great adventure so far! All the hard work and mistakes have gtten me to this point where I am actually going to finish creating a comic book!

Much thanks to my friend LeMal for coming up with a kick ass Western story and a cast of cool characers to design! (Without mentioning the occasional proding when the project was coasting to a standstill!).

Good complete books.
Some of it is revision, but its good to go over stuff and have a fresh take on it, read throught the inking guide, and the information on materials techniques and aims will really give depth to my inking now...

That means I'm only 10 pages away from starting to ink them!

I just haven't had the time or heart to scan any of them to pu on here, those 11x17 are so big, it takes around scans that I must then assemble under photoshop... I might just take picture with my digital cam and post those at some point!

This year, I did something I haven't done in years. I took a "New years resolution".

With friends and collaborators giving me much encouragement, and my conscience making me restless, I have gone back to an old project.

I have a script for a graphic novel (a pretentious comic book ) that is all about spirituality, philosophy and a look at a possible futur, it could be categorized as cyberpunk.

Anyway I have had this project, vision and characters inhabiting me for 5 years now. And with about a year away from the project, I've now the strenght to go back into it and the first thing I did is take a machete to the script. It is now leaner, more straight-forward and dynamic than it's first (read second) incarnation).

So, the third version is 66% completed as far as the plot and scene descriptions are involved. In the second phase, I'll be going through it once more, making minor adjustments to the timelines of the characters and write full script with dialogs.

After this, readings will be held, with scripters, actors, collaborators, to get a feel for how my vision is received through my script.

And lastly, production will start, deviding scenes into vignettes and turned into layouts and pages!

Well, I took the resolution to have at the end of this year a completed script that I will feel I can stand by no matter what and at the least be ready to go into production for 2006.

If you want to see art related to the second incarnation of the project, I have a quite a few pages in my gallery.

As of now, I am thinking of producing the art with oil pastels instead of inking, but this could well change in the next year.

I realized something about a large part of D.A. members :

You are mostly young males, with raging hormones. But that' not the worst part...

Saddly, I diagnose a large part of our membership as being delusional. Yes, its true...

You suffer from the first, the second, or BOTH, of the following delusions:

1) You firmly believe that when you logged onto, and joined deviantart, that you were signing up for a dating agency.

2) You firmly believe that deviantart is a place to satisfy your softporn needs (I apologize to you, sufferers of the second delusion, for you are partly right, because fellow sufferers of your illness have used their userpages to display such softporn material...).

This brings me to the following conclusion...

Should I change my user icon to a pair of breast or a butt in a g-string?

That way I'd get more views for my work, you little delusional people thinking, in your hormone distorted mind, that I am :

1) A girl, posting a dating add.

2) A girl exposing herself or a boy exposing girls...

...or both...

I must come to the conclusion that my icon will stay the same, though, for why would I want the company of porn starved, angst driven teens?

For those of you who feel conserned, you shouldn't be on my userpage, I'm not your type...

And for those of you who feel the same as me, I hope you enjoy my bit of frustrated sarcasm once in a while.

I guess I'll add sarcasm to my list of tools!

You may have noticed I haven't distributed much comments nyself for at least a month, and I am sorry for my neglect of the community... but i was at a loss... I am now, I believe, back on track!

My demo of my comic book is done and soon on it's way to editors, and I am working on my portfolio so I can land some contracts as a freelance illustrator... we'll see what gives!

Hello again! I am back from my vacation in Gaspésie!

(That's in eastern Quebec, a peninsula on the shore line facing the Atlantic Ocean)

It was quite refreshing to have such a change of pace!

I brought cameras along for the trip and should soon have some interesting pictures to submit!

I am particularly anctious of seeing how some pictures of the Roché Percé (Pierced Rock) turned out. It's an isolated rock formation composed of 500 million tons of limestone! It's isolated just off the cost since part ot it collapsed probably thousands of years ago... It makes for stunning scenery when you see it's bright orange colours surrouded by the deep blue of the ocean...

My being back from vacation aloso means that I'll be working on my comic book again, and should be posting the first pages soon, as a teaser!

This community has made me want to pull out my old dusty pencils and brushes and start dabbling again!

I've been so caught up in digital imagery with my work and all that I barely did any artistic activity aside my comic book project...

Well now I am juggling with my first acrylic painting (I'm used to oil) while doing some colour pencil work and still working as many hours as I can cram into each week on my comic book...

That's besides some recent interest in photography with a whole roll of stuff I tried out...

Soon, when i get all these thingsto go along I'll be posting a lot of stuff, till then, I'll be looking at your work, and offering criticism and praise when due! But an intronaut striving for the truth inside of us!
