So, my birthday is the 22nd. I'll be 24.

Somehow, this does not make me happy. Or excited. Or... anything, really. Just one more nail in the coffin, if you know what I mean.

Fuck, I spent my entire drive home crying. Which would be why I turned around and bought $57 worth of booze. For the uninitiated, it takes a metric fuck ton of booze to get me drunk. I'm aiming for all out smashed tonight. Shitty to do it by myself but the roommates hafta work in the morning and I'm not in until 2.

Why was I crying? Well fuck, I'm going to be 24 and what have I done with my life so far? Worked for Zellers. Got fired. Worked in a bead store for almost half a decade. Currently working in a shit job at a book store for barely enough to cover rent and bills. Haven't held a boyfriend for longer than 3 months. Don't even get me started on my ex-girlfriends.

I spend a good 80% of my home-time online. This is completely non-conductive of having a life.

It's taken my dog FIVE YEARS to decide that he likes sleeping in my room. And now that he has, he takes up my entire bed and makes it hard for me to sleep. Why did I want him in there to begin with?

I wound up canceling my birthday party because only 4 people could come-- and two of them live with me. You know, I don't think I've ever spent any birthday in a bar. Would it kill me to get the chance to do it once? Hah, knowing my luck it would. God.

-- oh yeah. For you international peeps. I live in Alberta. Legal age is 18. So I'm at birthday #6 for bar-hopping birthdays and it's yet to happen.

Twenty four.

And all I can think is

"My mom was married at 23."

Everyone seems to be doing commissions, no? Well, I suppose this is a bandwagon I can jump on. I did spend my holiday weekend working on these images, after all.

I'm going to be trying something new, art wise!

Why is that frightening? Well, the last time I tried doing this was back in highschool, and it irritated and frustrated me to the point of tears several times. I'm hoping this won't be anywhere near as bad, given that it has been a good six years since I made that attempt. Actually, I got pretty good grades on those projects, it's just my own frustration with them that has given me a hands-off approach for so long.

And no, I'm not going to tell you what I'm doing until I'm ready to post them. Nyah.

This might be funny only to me but I feel like sharing. I play Marco (from the Animorphs) at CFUD. I was redoing his icons tonight, as well as uploading some new icons.

Okay, long story short: *Wazy and I come up with craaaaaazy ideas at midnight.

Picture this. Harry Potter as the Lich King from Warcraft. He's sitting at the Gryffindor table, as he has been for several days, waiting on the plague Banshee Queen Hermione delivered to the kitchens to take effect. He's dressed in full Lich King armor, with his Gryffindor robes fastened over top. It's pretty obvious he's in this crazy armor, especially as he's not trying to hide Frostmourne, which he's been using like a pimp cane.

Anyhoo. Kids start falling over dead, and Ron turns to Harry and is all like "WTF?"

Harry's like "You're annoying." and kills him dead. Then raises him, like three seconds later. "Go, make my army larger! Kill those who have not succumbed."

So Ron the Kel'Thuzad replacement goes on a rampage, slaughtering the surviving Hufflepuffs.

"Oh dear, did you just put a sword through my friend's heart? I think you did!"

Ron turns to nameless Hufflepuff, who holds up a hand. "Please, sir, before you kill me... could I take a last sip of tea?"

"...sure, why not." So Ron kills a few other people, while this random Hufflepuff sips his tea.

"Nice day for a slaughter, isn't it?"

"...right." Ron's a little confused about this kid who is completely at ease with the situation.

"Do you think I could make some slight requests about my armor? I'd like it to be blue. With lighter blue accents. Maybe some red-- but not blood-splatters. Proper red. Hmm, perhaps pink? And could I get less skulls? I'm not too fond of those. Oh, I'm alright with spikes, horns and all manner of pointy things, but skulls just... tsk, there's just something lacking in them. You're quite welcome to keep them for yourself. While we're on the topic, could I be a Death Ranger instead of a Death Knight? Plate mail just never really sat well with me. Bad back, you know. Some leather would be absolutely fabulous. Far easier to color, I believe." sip "You know, I rather like my eyes. They're such a lovely shade of green. Do you think I could keep it instead of the glowing blue orbs everyone else has? They don't have to be glowing green orbs... just green eyes, unless the glowing green orbs is easier to do..."

Yeah, it just kinda continued on. For like ten minutes. Waz and I were going back and forth on things. And our fake British accent was all over the place. It visited Australia and India before returning to Britain.

Sharing this because I kinda want to draw this, and therefore I'll need to remember it in the morning.

Also, I need to remember to draw Inappropriate-touch-a-saurus. heh heh heh

Went to my grandfather's place this past weekend. As he decided he didn't need the internets anymore, he canceled his plan and I... sat down and drew. Well, what the hell else was I supposed to do when visiting my dementia-tastic grandmother in the hospital? Man, she's nuts. She topped the entire weekend by turning to my mother, her own daughter, pointing to me and asking "Have you met my grand-daughter?"

I still think the only reason why she consistently recognized me, and not my mother, was because I am the only girl in a group of eight grandchildren (and two great-grandsons, t'boot!). But anyhoo. It's quite a shock when y'haven't seen your grandmother in five or six years and get to meet her like that.

So I drew. Quite a bit. Some of the drawings are still in BC with grandmum. The rest are here and waiting to be posted. There's some Meilin (okay, lots of Meilin. She's been slightly redesigned) and some sexyfine Barus.

Well, it's hard for Barus to be anything but sexyfine. That's just how he's made.

I got off my arse and scanned the images today, but my lazy butt has no desire to go through the work of posting them right now, given that I really do need to sleep before I go to work.

Calgary's Lilac Festival is my favorite festival to go to. It's today (it actually started an hour ago), and only goes until six pm. But it's a street festival with music and food and fun, and yaaaaay!

I don't have very much (any) money until next payday, so I won't be buying stuff like I normally do, but it's still fun to go to. I got a horrible burn on my shoulders yesterday, so I can't go in costume like I originally intended. The curse of being a redhead, you know?

And yes, I know sunscreen would have helped. I hadn't intended to be outside, but I went over to my mom's and got to talking with some of the neighbours while my dad worked on my car. It happens.

So yeah, looks like I'm wearing a vest today

LILAC FESTIVAL, YAY!!

Okay, so it's not embroidery in the truest sense of the word-- I couldn't find a large enough picture of the emblem on her top, so I've left that out-- but I did spent about half an hour sewing over-sized stitches into the jacket of the uniform I'm wearing tomorrow.

I will be attending the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo this weekend, and more important I will be meeting Yuri Lowenthal. This is only important because we want to try and get him to scream Ovan-- Yuri is the voice of Haseo, among others. I'd wear the Pi costume, but the wig is in the midst of repairs so it is in no way or shape wearable.

Instead, I will be dressing as Kujikawa Rise from Persona 4. In which Yuri is the voice of Hanamura Yosuke. So it's all good.

I was absolutely stunned by how much I looked like Rise even without putting the costume completely on; I hadn't even finished the embroidery, I just put *Wazy's Zeja-pigtails on, and BAM. Rise. Scaaaaary.

I'm pretty sure I messed up the embroidered stitches, but I a) can't find the right images and b) am very tired. I can easily fix it in about ten-twenty minutes in the morning anyways.

...that's about it.

So *Wazy bought a new TV today.

We're watching Vincent and the Beastie Boys in glorious 42 inches. It is terribly amusing.

I so rarely do these things... oh well, this one is fun.
