Gosh.. okay. After I went in to drop off my animation portfolio for evaluation at Sheridan, and got to see the place and talk to animation students/faculty and see their classrooms... I've finally decided that this REALLY IS what I want to do with my life. Like.. no other option even matters anymore. Even if I don't get in next year, I will keep trying and trying. I talked to this one guy in 3rd year, and apparently he is THE BEST student in his year, yet he had to try three times to get in! So he did art fundamentals two times before actually getting in. A lot of people said that the fundamentals was a really strong foundation so I actually kind of want to go into that program first and then animation... but if I actually get into animation on my first try, then I guess I will go into that xD.

All the students I talk to though (about 7..or 8?) didn't get in their first try. So I realized it's okay if that happens. I'm no longer worried about whether I get in or not, because I'm pretty sure fundies has my back.

I AM SO WORRY-FREE FOR ONCE IN FOREVER AND EVER. This feeling is just godly. Srsly.

And even better...

Originally they told me that if I didn't get into animation, they would send me an application for animation fundamentals, but LUCKILY, when I was doing my design interview today, I got my mom to go to the animation info session that I went to yesterday and they told her that they gave me incorrect information! Apparently you DO have to apply for the fundies separately... so I had to drop my Illustration application and change it to fundies.

WHICH MEANS NO MORE ILLUSTRATION PORTFOLIO EVALUATION ON SATURDAY THAT I DIDN'T EVEN START AND WAS STRESSED ABOUT BUT NOW I DON'T HAVE TO DO AT ALL YESSSSSSSSSS.

I have THREE Sheridan portfolio interviews NEXT WEEK. Not ready for any.. nope. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUFKCFUDFKJSDLFJSFL. And they all require different types of content!


Heh... I miss my old account. Those were the good days on DA for me. I don't know why I've never been able to get this account off the ground. It's like I had plans for a great new account but gave up before I even started.

I miss those days when all my art was just a joke and didn't even matter. Everything is so serious and important now. I'm glad I can finally make money off of it and have it evaluated professionally for portfolios, but it's strangling in a way.

I just miss not caring about what I drew.. not having such high expectations for myself and my art. A few years ago, if I had an art theft (which I guess did happen around that time anyways) I probably wouldn't have even cared as long as it got taken care of.

I feel like such an old deviant now. 18 in May.. oh my.

I suppose I'll have to do something about this account soon.

Wish me luck on my portfolio interviews! I generally just get super nervous during them because I see lots of other good art and dont' think I'll get in u__u;;

Also, I finished up the pictures for the Cloud/Leon Xmas FST but I can't post them yet because the lyrics bookly isn't out yet! Also.. my laptp exploded and I think I lost those files anyways T__T.... I hope I didn't lose anything else as well.

What do I do if my laptop won't start up? It just keeps showing the Toshiba startup screen, then going black, then showing the screen again, and on and on. I so don't want to lose the laptop because I had pretty much every Adobe program installed on it. The disc with all the programs wouldn't work on my other computer, so this is important!

Making schedules for myself doesn't work AT ALL >.
But it's the holidays! My parents bought me a book, the Art of War. I asked for a Rubik's cube too but they were sold out >.<... I also asked for FFXII but they want me to stop playing video games since I"m in grade 12. Of course, the other reason they didn't buy it was because I am a girl. If I was male, they would probably have bought it for me, and they even laughed at their own sexist stereotyping.

But I am going to Florida with Sandi and Mindy in 2 days! Exciting . I really can't wait... yet the time is going by so quickly. I only have 2 days left to finish all my schoolwork, but in reality, I'll probably be doing work every spare moment I have in Florida >.
The main thing is my Sheridan portfolio(s)! I'm focusing mainly on the animation program one, but I need to prepare one for the illustration program too. My other portfolios will end up so half-assed and crappy, but I guess I can't help that now. I hardly even care about Emily Carr anymore, because when I stopped to think about it, it would be very impractical to go there. The only pro is that it's in Vancouver.

Gawd. I miss Vancouver so much, even after 9 years. I don't think I'm the only one though. I can always move back there after uni though.

I'm not too worried about OCAD. I think they'll take me, although I guess I still need to do quite a bit of work for my portfolio submission to them as well. I have no clue about NSCAD though, but that might be impractical as well. Everyone from my school seems to go there though >.>

I think at this point, Sheridan is my #1, then OCAD as #2 and ECIAD as #3. Omg.. I drools over the Sheridan artists work on here:

They all totally destroy my confidence of ever getting in, especially to animation ;A;!

I used to like posting here a lot more. Wonder why I don't so much anymore. Then of course there is all this stuff going on behind the scenes at deviantart, and if posting on this site possibly means handing over the rights to my art, I think I'd pass. I'm probably wrong - I don't understand most things. The point is I don't think I'm getting much out of posting my gallery online anymore. I'd rather not have sharing my art hold weight as a motivator. Ambition overcomes fun and creativity sometimes.

I just don't sit down and draw smurfsonacid enough, do I?

It sounds irrelevant to deviantart though, and probably is, but the point is I am no longer posting art for whatever reasons I've decided to convince myself of.

I'll still come here to look at/comment on other people's art.

So, went to the VNV Nation concert in Toronto with , , and

Soman and Imperative Reaction were pretty awesome too, and of course, VNV kicked so much ass! Heheh.. I did feel a bit out of place when we first got there since almost everyone was a goth and I was um.. completely not? Same with Shane.

Nothing wrong with goths at all.

Oh man! I want those heavy duty glowsticks! People were dancing with them and they were so awesome. And I saw 2 people with rave-goggles. I'll go to a rave.. some day.

People were smoking weed in front of us and sniffing cocaine behind us though. Yeah.. meh.

Damnit.. I really wanted them to play Honour though. Although they did play some of my favourites..Chrome, Epicentre, Darkangel, Arena, Joy...

I've discovered that the problem with me is that I have a horribly hard time drawing things when I plan to draw them. In the future, I think I'll only do random gifts and commissions.

So... it was my birthday. 2 days ago (May 6th). Yey.

Went to go see the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was a lot better than I expected actually.. I thought Disney would turn my favourite book into utter crap xD, but they pulled it off nicely. Added a lot of things though... and didn't put in several of my favourite parts. And they didn't even explain the towel! After the movie we went to a dessert place. It was fun. I felt gross after eating all the fudge though xDDD

Anyways.. I got a green iPod Mini for my bday! It's a little over half full right now ^^. And *blurix got me glowsticks!!! Except he still has to give them to me ¬.¬

But I'm excited for tehh glowysticks!

Still in an art block, but possibly comign out of it.

Edit - Oh yeah, I noticed on my old account page, a few people I don't even know wished me happy birthday. Is there some "deviant birthdays" thing somewhere? And how come that was on my old account... why no one on my new account? ;__;

Hey, I need some crits to help make this picture I started better. It's Alucard, and something is wrong with the legs... He'll have more of an expression on his face too, I just havn't drawn in facial features. I moved the hat down lower already too, just havn't updated it.

Yes, I AM drawing somethign without lineart! I didn't even do a sketch for this 0__o. This is the first piece I'm taking seriously since...ages ago, so I want it to be good. It seems I've been going downhill since last summer and I want to end that.
