Needless to say, the weather has not been kind to my immune system. Round after round of something has been keeping me in zombie mode for about three weeks. Good times, people, good tiiimes.

I haven't had much new work to post in the last three months. That isn't to say I haven't been working on projects, because I have two paintings in the wings (one of them quite large) and I have a ceramics project that I'm eager to have returned to me. Someday soon I'll have a new object to post, but until then I'll just continue to browse and check out the other brilliant artists here on dA!

Truly, some of the work I've seen here lately has blown me away and I love to continue to find inspiration in such an awesome community of artists

In other news, I found out today that I only need six more studios before I'm done with the art program at my university (not done with my degree, mind you, but at least with the studio portion of it)! I'M ALMOST DONE. This is a very exciting revelation

This makes me so happy! Thanks for viewing, everyone! I appreciate all the comments left and the works added to favorites! It means a lot!

Things going on in art-land...

1. I'm making a basket as a fibers project. It's due on Monday. Will it be done? Prooobably not. But whenever it gets done, I'll post some pictures. It's more of a sculptural piece than anything else.
2. INTRO TO PHOTO. I finally got into the photo course at Uni -_- That only took...TWO YEARS. I've already learned a lot from the first three weeks, and while I'm still not entirely fond of black and white photography (I'm a color girl, myself) I've really come to appreciate the techniques and process of developing prints. I've also come to really despise dust. Who knew such a small particle could cause so much woe?

In other news...
Still writing fanfiction. Final Fantasy IV is still getting a healthy dose of loving from me with the new DS release, and if you care to find any of it...I'm pretty sure I put the links up in another journal entry...I'm too lazy to re-post them right now ^_^;;

For photos...my digital camera battery is currently not re-charging and this indicates I must buy another one...but SEEING as I just bought two expensive batteries for a film camera, I'm kind of crabby about spending more money. Until I figure all that out, photos will be scarce...

Grawr.

If I manage to get any of my black and white prints posted, they may appear grainy. I apologize, it's my scanner's fault ^_^

The temperatures already feel like fall, and I keep thinking that there were so many things I wanted to do this summer that I never did...I was going to finish at least three paintings...I'm not sure how that's going to work out with the time I have left...This is always the crunch time of summer for me when I suddenly find motivation that I wish I'd had back in May.

In other news, I have finished my epic and very long fanfiction, "The Summoned Land" and am now on a bit of a hiatus, drawing plans for the upcoming round of fanfictions. And as I am currently in an emotional slump of equally epic and doomful proportions, most of those will probably be filled with large amounts of angst >_>

But...the wheel keeps on turning. Hopefully things will get better, and this fall brings a happier season in my life than previous semesters...

(plus, returning to campus means consistent access to high speed internet, and therefore more artwork posting on my part)

Let's see...what news is there to advertise...

1. I passed last semester--HURRAY! It was getting a bit scary for a while if I would even SURVIVE through the end of finals.
2. I've been working on fanfiction and have almost completed a two year project.
3. I've completed one painting, started two others, and have plans for yet another.
4. My photography has slowed down considerably, but may eventually start up again...providing I can get my lazy butt out of the house and remember to charge my camera battery.
5. I have watched three seasons of Bones, watched seasons 1-10 of Stargate SG-1, all four seasons of Stargate Atlantis, finished two seasons of MacGyver and begun an unusual descent into anime. It frightens me how much TV I've watched this summer on my computer O.o
6. FFIV was re-released for Nintendo DS!!! It is shiny and awesome and it's been consuming my time for the past week or so.

And there you have it...my summer thus far

Boring entry. Oh well.

I haven't been too active lately. College is eating up all of my energy and my time, so it may be a while before any more traditional art goes up. I'm planning on taking some more wildlife and plant shots this weekend so we'll see how those turn out and I may post them within the week.

I'm also going to attempt doing a piece for breast cancer awareness. It's taken me almost seven years to get working on a piece for this cause, and I figured it was due time. I'm currently working on finding resource images for the project and it might not even be finished until November...but that's something I'm going to be working on in my spare time over the next month.

At any rate, I've taken to checking this site rarely because it seems I get a message, a REAL message, once every three months or so, adding to my persona as one of the wee little undiscovered pages on the web. Perhaps I speak for a lot of users with pages that go unnoticed. Maybe I'll start my own mini crusade...

I finished one painting so far this summer, and that's quite an accomplishment, as paintings take me an incredbly long time to complete. I've also completed the first chapter of my novel...again. That is also great progress. I've read one book (haha, how sad...), done a lot of gardening, and my fiancee even got to come home for a week and visit!

At the moment I'm recovering from a long stint of eating way too much food, and junk food at that, while trying to get myself back into a healthy routine again...my body's pissed.

I plan on working on two more paintings in the next few weeks, we'll see if either of them gets done in that time, and afterwards, I'll be heading off to Texas. I'm wrapping up a flower series of paintings, and then I'm moving on to mythological subjects. I owe a coworker a dragon ^_^ And I think two other people as well...

Also, there are a few that will be edited that I was GOING to do a long time ago, but got distracted.

I've been meaning to do a lot of editing and re-shoots, but somehow time slips away from me without me realizing it.

This will probably be a summer project, so if you see things changing, or familiar shots being reposted in different editions that's why.

I also plan on learning how to use photoshop...FINALLY. Well...learn how to use some of its functions to some degree of competence. That's another thing to note, none of my photos are digitally altered in photoshop. Some photos, the only changes made to the original were color balance, contrast, and in some cases brightness. There's a lot I'd love to do with some of them in photoshop, but that will probably be something else to do over the summer.

That's all I've got for now. I should really be working on my art homework...

Am I the only person who spends their week off doing housework and catching up on things that have needed to be done since January and are just now getting done?

Oh well...

I've been doing some writing lately. I probably won't post any of it because I'm strange and dont' like posting my writing a whole lot, but now that spring is coming and things are growing I'll have more photos again. It feels like ages since I've had things to post consistently.

As for artwork...uhh...working on it. Class keeps me busy and doing anything on the side is just more work so...yeah.

I suppose that's it for my monthly update! I'll keep you posted!

Haha, I'm just a bit bummed...my fiancee is half-way across the country from me training with the Marines. Ahh well, I know he loves me long distance anyway ^_^

On a non Valentine's note: I might have more pieces to post in a little while! My art classes have been keeping me extremely busy the last three weeks. I've already finished one project that consisted of eight separate drawings, and I'm busily working on constructing a stapler out of illustration board for 3D. When these are done I'll upload the results.

I'm enjoying my life as an art major these days! I'm busy as all get out, but it's fun. As long as I don't think about how much I spent on supplies, I'm good.

And that's just a short mid-winter update on my end. Hope everyone is doing well!

I am trying to do a picture where the entire background is black and white and only the focus (ex: the blossom of a rose) is in color.

Now that my computer is fixed, running smoothly, and I have some time, I think I may finally kick myself in the butt and fiddle around.

Yeah, for all of my previous photos? Next to no editing, just re-sizing, and whatever else I was able to do on Microsoft Paint of HP Image Gallery, which is no longer on my compy ^_~

I really want to learn how to do layers...

Anything I put up within the next couple weeks are photos that have been sitting on my hard drive for a while. There are lots...I believe I have about four or five thousand photos on my hard drive right now...and there are lots to sort through. My Pictures is eating my soul at the moment...

However, so saying, I'm going to another wedding this weekend and that means more wedding photos!!! Oh dear...

We'll see what happens.

As for traditional art...I'm currently working on an 18x36 canvas. It's the largest canvas I've worked on yet, and it's a full panoramic landscape. I've never done a panoramic landscape so we'll see how this turns out in the end. Could be a couple more weeks before it's remotely near completion.

There are a few more painting projects under development but who knows when I'll get around to them.

Now that I've been on vacation for a month, my camera and I have been having a lot of adventures together. Unfortunately, my poor hard drive is becoming more and more filled up with photo files!!!

I am currently working on...six paintings (I think it's six, I could be wrong), but they are fairly slow going, and some of them are very, very large. They may be done within the next two months, so I'll keep you posted.

May also have some more sketches and other drawings up to spice up my otherwise photo dominated gallery...

Maaaaybe I'll even post some writing, but I don't know if I'm that bold, haha, we'll see...I should probably start to own up to that "fantasy writer" title I've given myself.

aaaand I'd like to thank all of you who have found my page and have commented on my deviations, I really do appreciate it! ^_^

Recently, however, I've been doing a lot of writing (as my profile says, I'm a fantasy writer, I just don't post anything O.O), so that's been a big time eater. Not that it's a bad thing, I'm finally breaking down the writer's block!

Buuut, to tide me over in the middle of all the paintings, drawings, writings, and other madness I'm creating, my camera still accompanies me everywhere I go to be used at any given moment (I've started carrying extra batteries ^_^)

I will note that all of my photos on deviantart are small because I'm on a dial-up connection, and can't handle the submissions of much larger pieces. That's why the smaller views may appear a bit blurry, sorry about that!
