It is a revenge thriller movie about "a recently paroled middle-aged man, who spent 15 years in prison without any explanation as to why he was jailed, seeks revenge on those who brought him down."

Damn, this movie is great. I was totally blown away by this movie, inspite of my high expectations. I just knew from the first scene that this movie would be one amazing movie experience.

Park Chan-wook is a great director. Every part of the movie is carefully done. Old Boy has great cinematography, great pacing, great style, and the performance of Choi Min-sik, which is extraordinary. He IS Oh Dae-su. No one will be able to give that kind of performance again, that's why i dont like the idea of the remake even more now.

You must see Old Boy if you have the chance. It won the Grand Prize of the Jury from Cannes Film festival not for nothing.

Philip Pullman's HDM trilogy is just one of the best there is.
As for now, I like it even better than Harry Potter.

HDM is in some way more intriguing, it includes stuff that i sometimes like to ponder, such as dark matters and alternate universes, etc. I'm quite amazed by Philip's writing style that includes quantum physics, chaos theory, space-time and some other relatively heavy physic stuff, envelop them into one great story and actually making it enjoyable to read and think.

I also dig Philip's view on religion on his book, i like these kind of book/movie/series that gives you alternate view on god and other spiritual stuff. (fanatic Christians especially, take caution before reading this book hehe)

The story itself is also very good, i found nothing really much going on in the first book, but entering the second book, i just couldnt stop. In my opinion, it has everything that makes a good book.

I highly recommend it

Rumored major feature of Nikon F6 that really interests me:
-Interchangeable back (F6 would be like the medium format camera in 35mm size where backs can be interchanged mid-roll/mid-card)

This means, with this one body we can have several film backs and several digital backs to serve different purposes (eg one fast digital back for action photography and one higher resolution but slower digital back for fashion, oned slide film back, one BW film back, and one print film back), and when newer digital sensors become available we dont need to buy a whole new body to upgrade our system, just the backs.

Even with the film back, there is also an interesting rumor that it will have an LCD screen to preview the image (with histograms, etc, i presume) before we record it onto the film.

This sure is a very sweet camera if it ever get realized by Nikon
