SO I got the boot from college. Hit hard by last minute sleep issues, and I was already shaky due to having been sick so much last year. Alas, I didn't quite make it, so I am back in DC.

Going to try to get that job at GraphicAudio, but that means I'm gonna have to crash-course my art and improve as much as possible in a short of a time as possible.

Which means... COMMISSIONS!

Due to my current lack of fundage, these will be paid commissions. You can request most anything you want, though at the moment there are five styles of commission, simply to try to judge prices.

Linework - (Pencil or inked, whichever you prefer, this is going to be lines only. Simple as that.)

Figure coloring - (Scanned and digitally colored/shaded figure with minimal to no background.)

Figure with background - (Scanned and digitally colored, with detailed background added.)

Figure painting - (Digitally painted image, no outlining and a more realistic rendering)

Figure painting with background - (The most realistic and detailed image Complete digital, outline-less painting.)

The works can also be requested large or small.

Payment:

These vary in speed and thereby prices. I will be charging per effective hour. This means that the price will vary depending on the difficulty of the commission.

"Per effective hour" means that I'll be charging only for hours working solidly and undistracted on the piece, so you don't have to pay for any time I waste.

Payments can be made through Paypal once I set stuff up, or through mail by request.

The current price will be $10 per effective hour.

As these works are going to be primarily digital, I cannot really mail the original work. Instead, I'll send a higher-resolution piece to the commissioner, and only showcase a smaller copy of the work.

If extra instrumentals that are only a part of a song count, the ending to a performance by Loreena McKennit, based off of her piece 'The Old Ways' It never fails to bring tears to my eyes with its sheer beauty and emotion.
If that doesn't count, probably Sarah McLachlan's 'World on Fire', because of the power and the message and saying how we can do so much better.

It tends to switch between red, blue, and green. It varies on my mood, really. Typically blue, though.

Alright! Sorry if you already got this, but my internet is dead. Had been dead, and appears to be staying dead. Since phone is connected to internet, phone is dead as well. Rather sucks. XD

Soooo, in the meantime I've been using random campus-spread computers, most of which have time limits (hence the hasty journal this used to be). I was lucky enough to find one without, which is what I'm using now.

Anyways, I've been getting college stuff going. Since move-ins have started, I'm thinking of giving up on apartment internetz and going to try to get it from the dorm, since it's more stable and such. That can happen on Monday, and in the meantime I'm sheltering and getting classes set up.

Sooooo yeah. Not much news. Not much is happening. Bluh. Spending my dayd with dogs, about the college, in Borders, Brawling in GameStop and trying (read: failing) to draw. Had a funny idea for a Plagued Horizon twist.

So let's hope I get all my crud done soon! Then I can talk to you doots again, which would be REALLY cool. It's boring here. (I was supposed to go to Kendra's, but her mom cancelled at the last minute right when contact was lost. So people think I'm gone for the week, and hence not popping by the apartment. XD Oops.)

My mom was married, though, just this past weekend. Lots of funny stories from that.

Edit: Apparently the DA stamp set I've been making doesn't post on any alerts. Check my gallery and lookit them please? ?

The marriage took place on Mackinac Island, a little place in the Great Lakes above Michigan. It's an old-fashioned, quaint little island, with no cars. Instead, everyone gets around by walking, biking, and horse.

The wedding itself was small, a group of 15 or so relatives in the back garden of the place we were staying, 5 minute ceremony. Chrissie still make a big issue of dressing me up, and I was appropriately annoyed. During photographing, Josh kept focusing the camera on me, and I do believe there's a picture of me flipping him off.

Also, in a fit of insanity, Julia, Chelsea, Sarah and I crank called the hotel front desk asking about "the whale-watching brochures we had received", and regarding which company the people recommended. Obviously, there are no whales in the great lakes, but it was never questioned. The woman merely stated that she didn't know they handed out brochures for it. It was interesting.

Other than that, not much. I once again realized just how comfortable I am on horseback. I oughta get one when I get the chance.

News: Mystique is officially my baby. Since most everyone's too busy, (and, as Natalie said, Erin's too big to get off a stool :/ ), and some people are nervous with her size, I'm her official walker. She's really sweet, very good on a leash, and she attracts a lot of attention. Nearly every other person will either comment on her coat (tri-color white, brown, and black), or on her size. "You should put a saddle on her." is a very common phrase.

I also found out the hard way that she's also a guy magnet. I was asked out by two total strangers twice in 10 minutes. It was interesting, to say the least.

She was terrified of going into the cage, but she's getting better really quickly. The long walks in the heat probably help, though. XD She goes straight for her water when we get back.

And, in other news, Jack was complaining incessantly about how I came back smelling like dog. Too bad for him, he's gotta get used to it. XD

First day was today, and it was just a rollercoaster of amazing.

Started with walking the dogs, and I took the big ones first. Blaine (big gray poodle), and Jade (slightly smaller, but still big black poodle. Jade was recently spayed and thereby somewhat reluctant to move, but she got more active further in the walk. I had to go easy on her, though). The two of them are getting picked up by an adopter tomorrow, and I'll most likely be the one to greet her.

Next was Marlo, =a Rottweiler who might have a little bit of lab in her. BIG dog, but really sweet (unless she thinks someone has her food). She's a tad skittish around other dogs, though. It was a lot of fun.

Then came the little dogs, starting with Jake. A hyper little attention whore of a Jack Russel. Apparently he likes chasing cars and bikes, he slipped the leash when a bike passed and ran out into the road. Scared me half to death, there were about five cars right there. He was fine, though, thank Ali.

And then there was Patty. A ridiculously affectionate albino boxer. The sad thing is that albino boxers are undesired by breeders, and are often drowned or starved. Patty was the latter, and was brought to the shelter half dead. She recovered, but is still skin and bones and was left deaf from the ordeal. We were trying to fatten her up (with slow progress) so she can get spayed, she's too skinny at the moment.

She was Trisha's (the owner) baby, and Trisha was very VERY picky about who she'd go with, due to having special needs (needs a fence, leash when outside at all times, physical reassurance and potential training in nonvocal commands).
Despite this, today she finally got a home! Two very nice ladies with another boxer named Aman came and picked her up, and it's cool.

So I'm back, tired and happy. Gonna sleep well tonight, I think, which is good. I'm up for another round of this (only even more hectic) tomorrow.

P.S. I need to repair my pants.

It's very, very quiet here during the summer. The town is so empty one could drop a piece of paper and hear the echo.

Matters aren't helped much by the fact that I am lacking in a phone.

While I want to get out and do something, I don't particularly want to leave. The computer is my only contact with any of my friends, and I don't want to see just how empty this place is.

However, I have things I must do. Trying tog et get this job, mailing letters, getting my bike from the dorm. Alas for internal wars.

Profile

A fairly well-rounded character, as is fitting of a red mage. While she is not strong in single areas, she excels at being versatile and able to do a bit of everything. One must learn to be able to adapt to situations to fully utilize her. Since she is so balanced, she makes for a very good starting character.
While well rounded, she leans slightly toward slower and stronger. She is rather sturdy, and does not go flying easily.Though she certainly isn't the fastest character out there, she is certainly much more nimble than really heavy characters such as Bowser.

She's generally optimistic, upbeat and happy. She also tends to be hyper to the point of weirding people out. Never ever EVER call her cute or she will destroy you.

Moves

A - Stabs with her rapier. Repeated taps lead to a quick succession of stabs.

< A > - Lunges forward and stabs. When charging, she pauses, holding the rapier up near her, and then lunges forward. The longer the charge, the higher the damage and the farther she travels. (Careful with this, don't go flying off an edge)

/\ A - Stabs upward, then slashes down in front of her.

\/ A - Drops to the ground and does a spinning kick, can be used to dodge certain attacks.

Dashing A - Spins and slashes with rapier.

Special moves

B Loki's Design - Sends an arrow-shaped sheet of fire in one direction, which expands and thins the greater the distance, until dissipating. Does a lot of damage up close, and damage decreases with distance. The flame is easy blockable by shielding, but very difficult to dodge.

<-B-> Fang of Fenrir - Makes a downward stabbing swipe with hand, two green slashes appear in the air, causing minor damage. The damage percent of anyone hit deteriorates slowly for 10 seconds after that.

/\ B Nidhoggr - Stabs upward while flames spiral around her. Cannot hover like Fox Fire, but is a decent recovery move.

\/ B Joro's Protection - She places her hand upon the ground and rocks spiral from it, causing damage to those near her and reflecting projectiles.

Other moves

Grab: She holds out a hand and the target is lifted from the ground. (Close range) Cannot attack the person being grabbed.

Throw:

Side: She dashes forward and body slams the person, sending them flying. A very effective move when used on an edge, as long as you remember to recover afterwards.

Down: She mentally slams the person into the ground. Not very effective.

Up: Throws the opponent a short ways upwards, does a coiled handstand, and kicks upwards with both feet.



Taunt 1: She dances in place for a moment before giving a raspberry.
Taunt 2: Grabs her cloak and does a pseudo-intimidation with it.
Taunt 3: Whips out an apple and throws it at the nearest character. If it hits, it causes only 1% damage, but the apple remains on the stage and can be thrown around.

Jack and Mary stopped by on Thursday and a bit of Friday, which was really cool. Lots of crazy funny stuff going on.

Mom came to visit the school, because she was worried about me and such. Wheeeee.

When she left, she sent an email to me and a couple other people, talking about how I should stay in Indiana over the summer. I'd planned to get an apartment and work, but she's trying to trap me here. The people here can be cool, but they're all going to leave over the summer, and I'll be stuck here alone. It sucks.

And then she had the gall to call all of my friends back in Maryland "high school dropouts". I think she's trying to keep me away from all of you. Bitch.

I just played Super Smash Bros: Brawl, finally.

And it was freaking amazing.

Zelda's more powerful than usual, Sheik is weaker. Marth's Sword Dance is awesome, Ike can't jump.

Meta Knight is made of win, and he loves the Lylat stage. Hates the Flatworld ones, though.

New scanner is here and working, and I'm currently having fun with a little scribble on a bio paper. Said little scribble being about three inches wide and going down the entire page, hahahaha.

My bloody flu is nearly all gone, other than a persistent cough and runny nose that ruins my singing and gets on my nerves.

And early this morning there was a strange presence in my room. A suspenseful, expectant feeling that made me nervous.

Like the feeling I get in Okami, on the ghost ship. There are these little Kokeshi dolls that, if you put a prayer slip over them, register as being possessed. If you attack them, they come back together instantly. They sit and watch and never do anything and MESS WITH MY MIIIIIND~ DX I keep expecting them to do something that'll startle me.

It's kindof that feeling, the nervous 'something's gonna happen' but then it doesn't one. It makes me think of those who died while waiting for help to arrive.

So I couldn't get any work done this morning, alas. I was too on edge.

BUT in other news

I told people about the Marsh Mallow Plant. I'd heard of it's existence many years ago, and kept telling people, and no one believed me.
Well HA, I found it in a botanical book! It does exist, go google it if you must. X3

My sister and I ate out at a Thai place, since I only have three meal swipes a day, and Chrissie is stealing some of them, haha.

Anyways, while reading the menu posted in the window, I saw the professor sitting and eating. I had mentioned him to Chrissie before, and pointed him out.

She gave me a funny look and said "That's a woman." I gave her a funny look in return, and arguing that he was a guy, I had seen him before.

We decided to eat there, and sat next to the professor, and apparently we were both right.

It seems that he had gotten a sex change while I was off on break. It was slightly awkward.

Shi's definitely an interesting character.

(The Shi is stolen from somewhere, where hermaphrodites and such are referred to by shi and hir. I like it. )

He does amazing satire. His books are blunt and almost deceivingly straightforward, riddles with jokes and subtle references that make his works re-readable and thoroughly enjoyable. His works are bestsellers worldwide, and one of his works has been made into a TV special which, while good, still doesn't do it justice.

However, his has hit a rather rough spot in the road. The man has been diagnosed with a form of early onset Alzheimer's.

Please read the ensuing letter, as Pratchett can convey his feelings and ideas on the matter far better than I ever could.

AN EMBUGGERANCE

Folks,

I would have liked to keep this one quiet for a little while, but because of upcoming conventions and of course the need to keep my publishers informed, it seems to me unfair to withhold the news. I have been diagnosed with a very rare form of early onset Alzheimer's, which lay behind this year's phantom "stroke".

We are taking it fairly philosophically down here and possibly with a mild optimism. For now work is continuing on the completion of Nation and the basic notes are already being laid down for Unseen Academicals. All other things being equal, I expect to meet most current and, as far as possible, future commitments but will discuss things with the various organisers. Frankly, I would prefer it if people kept things cheerful, because I think there's time for at least a few more books yet : o)

PS I would just like to draw attention to everyone reading the above that this should be interpreted as 'I am not dead'. I will, of course, be dead at some future point, as will everybody else. For me, this maybe further off than you think - it's too soon to tell. I know it's a very human thing to say "Is there anything I can do", but in this case I would only entertain offers from very high-end experts in brain chemistry.

A) There is a big story I have been working on for a few years now. Who here knows anything at all about it?

If not, a (very) quick plot summary is:

In a medieval world of war and magic, a spreading plague is destroying everything in its path, leaving few alive and even fewer supplies to support those that remain. Faced by this calamity, countries begin to war against each other in an effort to save their people. Erik, the young lord of the country of Vorpera, gathers a small group of people to sneak past the battlefields and discover the source of this deadly pestilence.

B) This bloody thing still needs a title.

With much amazing help from a friend, this thing has a title.

'Tis been a good night. I had been rather upset for a while since I had no semblance of a costume, and Hallowe'en is my favorite holiday. I realized about 20 minutes before dorm-wide trick-or-treating began that I DID have a costume. The army uniform that Jon lent me for Airsoft.

So I grabbed that, my canteen, stuck on a dragon patch I randomly had, put some creepy music on (what I'm listening to now) loud enough to hear outside the room, and went out. Got candies and such, had a good time, met someone, made plans for video game nights, and general awesome.

I thank Jon profusely again for said outfit, it has made tonight very enjoyable. You have my utmost gratitude.

In other news, I found a drawing that has been posted on here that looks almost exactly like a drawing I did 3 years ago, combined with the redone version 1 year ago. I have no relation to the person, I never posted the image online, it is a huge coincidence, and it was fun.

SO yeah, 'twas a good night, and I hope you all enjoyed it as thoroughly as I did.

Alright! Journal time!

When talking with a friend last night, I showed him my Alchemy -Sketch- pic. ( [link] ) we got to talking about how that would make a kick-ass teleportation system in some Sci-Fi movie (Not G-rated, too gory for that. XD)

On that note, he wrote a small bit of story on how he perceived it.

Anyways, here is his snippet:



A whirlwind descended from the ceiling. As it passed Cleo's head height the bare surface of a skull formed. The shimmer in the air spiraled downward depositing bone followed a moment behind by a vortex depositing muscle in corkscrews, then another trailing ribbon of fat, then flesh, and finally pores and hair. Cleo looked down as layer upon layer of man-sack formed. A final glowing ring descended and dressed Amoral in his military garb.
He grinned, "I =hate= teleporters."

This got me to thinking. While it is certainly not the image I had pictured, it was very fun to read. SO, I am proposing a mini-contest!

Basically, anyone who wants to try out is to write a snippet of story explaining how you think that drawing came to be. What is happening? It need not have huge amounts of backstory, though you are free to write some if you wish. I'm mainly just looking for everyone's interpretation.

I'm debating about a prize. This contest isn't going to be big, but I would like to give the person some sort of reward. The issue is, I already have tons of drawings that I owe people, and I do not need to add any more just yet. (If I had a bloody SCANNER I could do them a lot faster. Ugh. Mouse inking is sooo sloooooooooow~)

So there is a possibility of no prize. If you are willing to enter despite that, the I welcome you wholeheartedly.

Jon: Belial found out from one of his messengers that Maxwell and Gareth had sealed away his trusted puppet master, Set. He twists and twitches his right hand as a mysterious puddle of blood appears before him. The blood then begins to create a webbed figure and then forms into a human skeleton. A piercing scream comes from the skeleton, which does not frighten Belial one bit. He now swings his arms in front of his body as if he was drawing a few peculiar shapes. A bunch of red thick fibers began to wrap around the skeleton, giving the figure a muscular system. Aw, man. I really can't decide. Too many good days, all good for different reasons.


Name of first pet:
Goldfin? A fish I had when I was really little. But the first pet I REALLY had (that I took care of myself) was my cockatiel, Juno. Her name was originally Jupiter, after both the god and the planet (Reddish spot on her cheek), because we thought she was male. Then she laid an egg. o_o

Needless to say, we decided to change her name after that. XD


Prettiest physical feature: Uuuuuuuuhhh....
I guess, if I HAD to pick one, I'd say hair or eyes. Due to me being outside quite often, my hair is different colors. The ends are lighter than the top, the hair on the outside is lighter than on the inside, so if it lies in any way other than straight, it has lots of little variations and such.

My eyes are fun because they often seem to change color. They're gray-blue with brownish centers, but can look blue, gray, or greenish. I've been told that they've also sometimes looked gold or purple. Much fun, indeed.


Western and Eastern zodiac signs:

Western: Aries on the Pisces cusp.

Aries = Adventurous and energetic
Pioneering and courageous
Enthusiastic and confident
Dynamic and quick-witted
Selfish and quick-tempered
Impulsive and impatient
Foolhardy and daredevil

Though Aries is a lively, aggressive sign that you can't keep down, being on the Pisces cusp gives me some of the fishes' imagination, creativity and intuition, as well as idealism, escapist tendencies, and secrecy.

Eastern: Metal Horse.

Google metal horse if you're really curious. There's more to the Chinese Zodiac than just the animal signs. In general, horse people are extemporaneous (do things with little to no beforehand preparation), friendly, open-minded, and honest. They also can be self-centered, vain, and obstinate, and often have a temper.

Being a metal horse makes me desire freedom more than most anything. Metal horses hate being tied down or kept in the routine. We do many things at once, and often get in over our heads, but we recover incredibly quickly.

Both of these fit me pretty well. I've noticed astrology, while not accurate for everyone, tends to be uncannily close for me. Woo!


What sort of car I drive:
None! XD
Seriously, freshmen here aren't allowed to have cars. I've pretty much always biked everywhere, though. When we had it, I drove my grandmother's Impala. (As opposed to my mom's giant hulk of a van). If I had any car I wanted to drive, though, I'd have GM's Hy-wire. Much <3-age for that car.

A) One of my art idols Wen-M () is holding a 5-mil hits series of... minigames, I guess. ANyways, one had to do with usernames, and my partner and I got talking about the species Lupus Draconis. It was quite fun, although short, and there was a mention of my elemental system and corresponding dragons and such.

But Wen-M commented and said that it was interesting! You should've seen me. It wasn't fangirling, but happyspazzing. I feel like an apprentice who just got praised by his master. ^^

B) I just had another idea for the big, title-less story I've been working on for years. It was one of those where, as soon as the idea hits, everything related that you had an issue with just falls into place. I love moments like that.

C) I designed the condition that will be prevalent in my story. It has been dubbed Esurio Magus, and is distinctly fantasy-based. It's really quite a nasty disease, I feel mean for making it.

HOWEVER, my mother, one of the most realist people out there, had APPROVED of it, from a doctor's point of view. She hardly EVER approves my fantasy stuff. She says that my magic-based condition is logical! *Glee*

And D) I recently found out that the a small population of the Great Plains Wolf, believed to have been extinct since the 1920s, has been discovered in the Minnesota area. <3!

And random fact, apparently ADD and ADHD people have brains that are evolutionarily designed for hunters. I have a hunter brain.

Unfortunately, today's society is designed for farmer brains. Alas.

I had a 102.1 fever and didn't notice.
(That probably says more about me than I know. XD)

Anyways, the doctors were stunned that I could move so easily, and was so active/upbeat for having such a high temperature. They'd never seen that before. I feel tough. X3

The fever did catch up with me after I went to pick up antibiotics, I was wobbling everywhere the entire way back to the dorm.

But still, it makes me happy that I can tough out such a high fever so well.


On another note, have you ever seen a rainy sunset? One where clouds cover the sky, but light still shines through them? It tinges the world glowing gold and red and pretty. I woke up to it and it threw me for a loop, I'd never seen that before. I really like it, I hope to see it again sometime.

Anyways! Off to get milk and sleep some more!

I hope to make it, for it is an amazing masquerade costume and I love the mask to death.

So I finally had a decent success of the costume. I'm not entirely satisfied with it, for I'm not sure what to do for the pants.

Basically, pretty much the entire thing is black, with a few metal accents in~ pewter? Lemme check....
... whatever, taking too long. It's pretty much a dark, dark, not-so-shiny silver. Almost like hematite or something. You can find the metal I'm talking about in stores like Hot topic. It's usually very chain-ey jewelery, often coupled with black beads.


ANYWAYS! Moving on!

The costume consists of a loose, open-fronted... tunic? medieval shirt? in a black, shiny material. Preferably sil or something, but that's impractical and expensive. It's got big, poofy sleeves, and is cut so it would lace up the entire front, but instead it's left open and tucked almost robe-like into the belt. The front is held together by a few chains of that blackish metal in about the middle of the chest. The ends of the poofy sleeves are tight around the wrist in almost a cuff, and the end of that is ringed in glossy black feathers.

The belt is black, or possibly a very dark brown, with a decorated buckle (think cowboy or whatever) in the same blackish metal. A few thin chains hang here and there across the hips from it, as wallet-less wallet chains.

I'm not sure about the pants, but they're currently just very simple, dull black breeches, nearly leggings.

And lastly, knee-high cuffed boots in a dark brown.

This is the under-costume. It is grouped with the mask and cloak, which is long and has feathers in an almost-circle all the way around, to about the bottom of the deltoid (the shoulder), with a few short-ish chains across the back and front in... guess what? ~the blackish metal! Yaaaaay. The cloak drags slightly on the ground, and is a solid black of some nice, think material. I dunno what sort yet.


Detailed description, but besides the mask and feathers, it's a very simple costume.

The issue is, I can't find anything to make it with. There is NOTHING on the internet that I can find that has the right kind of boot, shows you how to attach feathers to cloth, and while I can find some pattern that resemble what I want for the shirt, none of them are open enough, and I'm afraid just cutting the center would mess it up somehow.

Alas.

I shall get a picture up of it soon, hopefully.

AND on a completely different, complainy note, I got my first migraine today, and it's not going away. I missed an important lab because it involves counting grains of rice, and I can hardly even see straight.

I've never gotten a migraine before, and coupled with the swollen lymph nodes on my neck, I think I might be getting something.

I spent a lot of time yesterday and the day before at the stables. I hope today's suffering doesn't mean that I'm allergic. That would suck SO much.

1. I have a tendency to hide my emotions, especially of sadness (which I percieve as personal weakness [not in other people, just me, for some reason.] I have many reasons to be happy, so why am I not? Thereby, I am weak. That's the general perspective.).

2. Despite the fact that I hide my emotions, they are very apparent in the kind of music I listen to. When I'm upset I have no patience for upbeat songs, when I'm happy I want less somber music. If you pay attention, I am actually quite the open book.

3. I sleep a LOT, and I need a lot of sleep (about 10 hours per night), but lately I've been hating sleeping. I don't want to sit in bed and stare at the ceiling while waiting for my brain to shut down (which can take a long time). I'm fine with it once I've actually fallen asleep. If I wake up, I can go right back and not mind. It's just the initial that bothers me.

I think I may just not want to give my mind the chance to wander to everyone back home, since ti will unfailingly do so.

4. I'm not so good at thinking of ideas on my own, unless they're flashes of images in my head. I'm really the most creative when responding to a prompt, like a question or a problem that needs solving. (The problem can be either abstract or simple)

5. My mom has no drawing talent, I got it from my father. However, both of them are realists, and my mother is a doctor. Thereby, any drawings I do, no matter how fantastical, always have a scientific element to them. I do my best to make my fantasy seem believable, but I still occasionally wish I could do something less burdened by science.

6. I used to be the purest person in the world. Make any sort of sexual reference and it would just whoooosh over my head, and I'd be clueless. ( I refer to that time as when I was a unicorn. I was that friggen innocent. XD)

I'm not quite so much now, I understand the references, I can twist things, but occasionally I still revert. Still, I'm not as pure as most people think I am. Some people still cover my ears when the conversation turns to... dirtier topics. Lol.

7. I want to die young. I don't mind the actual concept of aging. Experience, knowledge, that stuff's all good. However, I'm terribly afraid of the deterioration that comes with age. I'd rather die young and in my prime than end up wasting away in a nursing home, unable to do anything for myself. I know I will almost definitely not end up like that, but the thought scares me so much. It's one of my greatest fears, being unable to do anything myself, being helpless, and not caring, not realizing how weak I have become.

8. I'm no good at thinking of stuff to say by myself, I'm better at answering questions about me that people ask.

I'm guessing that's a photoshop thing, lemme see what it is...
Nevermind, it's Painter 9.
I don't use Painter, but I've used that type of brush many-a-time, and it is my best friend when coloring and shading. Smooth coloring, blurred edges, it is a very versatile brush and that makes me happy. =3

2. Scribbles
Scribbling is good for sketching when mouse drawing, occasionally I use it in pencil. I use it for pencil shading and filling in tones, and on the computer, I use it for coloring large areas. My compugter coloring is more brush sweeps than scribbles.

3. Creepy things

I don't think I craw too much creepy stuff, but I'm good with creepy. Not many things bother me.
A LOT of people seemed to think my Alchemy drawing was creepy, I dunno why. I could've added a lot more detail, which means more shudder factor. Nerves, connective tissue, blood vessels, it could be a lot worse. XD

But I don't really draw too much really creepy stuff, I just don't get too many ideas for it. It's not my style, but I will do it occasionally.

4. Females

I spent a large portion of my life drawing females only, sinec I had myself as a reference. This happens a lot, I've noticed. I then tried drawing men, but they DIED, so I started practicing them only. For a long time, I only drew males, and then my females suffered, since they didn't improve.

Now I do it about 50-50, and my females have gotten much better, so I've reached a happy medium now.

5. Backgrounds

I can't do backgrounds in pencil, enough said. It's too painstaking and patience requiring for me, usually, so I draw my backgrounds in some sort of computer program, where I can undo and brush sweep and change colors easily and such, and it's nice and friendly. They're fun when I actually do them, but I usually don't, since my drawings start on pencil. Expect more backgrounds in my webcomic!

6. Music

Always, if some is available. I oftentimes get inspiration from music, and music types influence my mood enough to really work on drawings.

Hyper, quiet, suspenseful, I change the mood of the music to match the mood of my drawing or writing, so I can be PUT into the mood necessary.

7. Sunlight

Never tried drawing it, I need to practice it.

Sunlight in the room is nice, I prefer it to electric light, but I also like it to be somewhat dim when I can. Sunlight on the computer screen is bloody annoying, it reflects off and the glare is TERRIBLE. Augh.

8. Old masters

Leonardo da Vinci all the way! his sketches are really good for muscles and such, I usually use them for horses and humans.

9. Imagination

Still lifes are decent if I can PINK MY MEDIUM. DX Alas, I am terrible with paints, so I liek to do my still-life in conte crayon or something. Samme effects as pencil, but I can cover a larger area. I like pencil for small ones, though. I did a really spiffy one of an azalea flower once. X3

I usually draw from my imagination, since that's my strongest point. Imagination combined with logic, resulting in a (hopefully) realistic fantasy creature/person. Yay?

10. Distractions

I actually don't get distracted when drawing much, since I tune out most everything, and yell at people who persistently try to distact me or get me to do something else.

When browsing through Purdue's University Bookstore for Sharpies and textbooks, I happened to glane to a shelf on my right.

And Lo! and behold! I saw, sitting there, Photoshop, Corel Painter and Corel Draw, 3D rendering programs, virtual model programs, and Manga Studio 3.0!

I migrated to the Photoshop, but then looked at said Manga Studio. It was priced at a mere $30, and contained coloring, lines, and screentones! Exactly what I needed, if I'm going to make Lionwings and my still-unnamed story in a manga style.

I had gone to purchase a textbook and such, but I found that I just barely had enough extra to get Manga Studio!

And so I did, and it is sitting here waiting to be installed.

Now if only my computer could handle it, but I'm working on that. And if, necessary, I can get a new computer for it, since I'm going to be drawing a LOT very soon.

And once things are set up, you can guarantee I will work on Lionwings and Untitled, and then start posting more.

Everyone, there is hope for the mishu!
We have found a place for him to stay, and he can stay there until I get back from college, hopefully in a semester.

Things are finally looking up, so yays. I'm about to burst with happiness. XD

Okay, I hate my mother.

First point, she forced us to move.

Second point, she left the cat behind.

Third point, she won't let me get him, due to the fact that the ventilation would spread his fur around the house.

Fourth point, I can't reach him from here, I have no bus money.

Fifth point, The only reason he's losing fur is because he has fleas, which I can't treat when I'm in this bloody house, way the hell over HERE.

She asked the neighbors to feed him, but they don't give him the attention he needs. The only people around there are construction workers, and he's scared to death of them.

I stayed over at a friend's house last night, and she drove me over to my old house, so we could see the cat.

There was food in his bowl, but he had absolutely no water, and he couldn't reach the food due to the screen door being closed too far.

Usually, he never meows, purrs constantly, and swaggers around with his tail high in the air. He's an alpha and he knows it.

But when I went over there, as soon as I got out of the car, he slunk towards us, tail dragging on the ground, meowing constantly. He bolted to his food as soon as I opened the door. He lost weight, he's not as muscular as he used to be, and he was absolutely pitiful. He was begging for attention after his food, but he stilll never purred once.

When I got home, I checked a weight chart for cats, and he counts as underweight, maybe even thin.

Fortunately, his fleas aren't so bad, so he has more of his fur, but this is still neglect, so I'm searching for animal abuse laws so I can threaten mom with legal action, if it becomes necessary.

Thank God he wasn't emaciated, if he was, I'd fucking sue her NOW.

Chrissie says that it would ruin the family relationship, but honestly, there is hardly anything between mom and I to ruin.

I'm off to beat the fact into her head that this could kill our cat. Wish me luck.

I have been working on a specific story for ages, probably around 2 years. And whoop-dee-doo, only now have I actually gotten around to writing it. (All other attempts were immediately hated and deleted...)

The story is going to be a split novel/webcomic (most likely a manga style, since those are fun, yay). The plot is mostly worked out, it just needs to be drawn and written.

The problem with writing is that I have a tendency to use waaaay to many ands and commas. I also can ramble quite a bit, as those who read JonnyBlackmage's FFI episode 4 know very well.

Yesterday I was driving with a friend all around Rockville, turning in job applications in an attempt to find a job and get out of college for a year, since I don't wanna go to Indiana just yet. XP

I ended up spending the night there, talking and watching Mythbusters and Animal Cops: Houston, and playing with her dogs.

So that was all well and good. The next morning we went grocery shopping and stuffs, messed around some more, and I went home.

As she was dropping me off in front of my house, I offered to make a bet of $5 that Jack would be playing Guild Wars. He ran away from home and has been staying at my house for a while, searching for jobs and hogging my computer to play Guild Wars.

She declined the bet, and we said goodbye and I went inside.

Immediately, my mom tells me that the police were here last night, banging on the door around midnight, they lo and behold, they are accompanied by Jack's parents.

A bunch of friends, the school, and even his parents knew he was here, so we have no idea why it took them so long to get here, and why they had to barge in so late.

So anyways, they seized Jack and forced him to go home, and I haven't heard from him.

It rather sucks. =/

... and if my friend had taken that bet, she would have $5 by now.

I would upload more stuff right now, but DA is being silly, so I shall post when it decides to be nice.

On another, slightly related note, I am working on a story/webcomic thingy that has not gone past the planning, outlining, and concept drawing stage. Thereby, in order to try and solve both problems, I am taking up the 100 Art Challenge~!

For those of you who are clueless as to what this is, you create a series of 100 drawings, in any order, each with an assigned theme.

This should help me finilize my drawing style and practice poses and armor and backgrounds and things, so hopefully it'll be nothing but a help.

I shall keep an update on my progress. Wish me luck!

Daji.

Really, his name came from when I showed his original concept to a friend, and they said "He looks dodgy."

50 or so, but looks more in his late teens.

Imp. (Could be classified as Oni, probably)

Nope.

Not entirely sure, he probbably has many people he considers friends, but annoys the heck out of.

Earth.

Certain foods, he doesn't need to eat too much. He kindof more absorbs energy from whatever source he can.

9. What's his/her favorite food?
Probably heat.

10. What's his/her favorite drink?
Anything fizzy.

Yup. XD

Depends on who you ask.

No.

Nothing, really.

Yeah.

Coming up with pranks, performing said pranks, and doing acrobatic stuff for the heck of it.

Nope. I doubt 7' imps (8' including the horns) would count as normal.

Maybe.

He rarely takes anything seriously, so this question doesn't apply very well...

A slightly more demonic form, which he only uses when angry. He normally just looks like an very tall, oddly proportioned human with tatoos and a pair of horns (He isn't able to disguise those yet, and probably dosn't choose to)

No, unless someone is completely unaffected by anything he does. He hates not being able to get any sort of reaction out of people.

24. Is your character a criminal?
Could very well be.

25. Does your character go to school?
Nope.

26. What's his/her IQ?
Not book smarts, but he's very clever.

No.

Lol, nah. XD

He has a little brother who is very hateful of humans, and generally an angry person. ANy other family is not known.

If he has, he ain't talking.

Every day, really. He lives for the moment.

No one, really.

Yeah.

Not as far as I know. XD

Nah, but he's very at home in the forest. He likes swinging around on trees.

Can't.

Not really. He more gets annoyed and then sulky.

Not too much.

Probably a weasel.

Once again, if he does, he ain't talking.

When he's not in his true Imp/Oni form, he is as susceptible to injury as a human. He normally doesn't get hurt from falls and the like, due to being so agile, but he can get hurt from stabbing and such. Not wearing any protective clothing or anything doesn't help matters. He really just wears a pair of pants. XD
Also, his horns help to channel and focus his power, so if one breaks, he is weaker. They do grow back, albeit very slowly.

My friend's character Ushio.

Yeah.

Doesn't matter, but the crazier, the better.
