Some exciting news... I got a job at a video game company as their concept artist.
This isn't freelance... I am working in house and getting paid to make video games.
I am so stoked!!!

There are a few things, however, that I will call "adjustments".
The job is more than 2 hours away so I have to commute... which means I am staying in an apartment for 3 nights and 4 days away from my wife and kids. It hurts and is taking some time to get used to but the job is good and it will help my wife and I not struggle so much to keep our family afloat. Money isn't everything, but you can't live on nothing either.

For all the people I owe commissions to... PLEASE... Please let me get adjusted in the new apartment so that when I get off of work Mon, Tues, and Wed night I can work on commissions.
I will not be working on any artwork Thurs night, Fri, Sat, and Sundays because that is my family time. There is no furniture or computer in the new apartment yet and I need to make it a condusive working environment to get the best artwork from me to you.

I will do your quick sketch prize at Nekocon this weeekend while you chill at my table for a little bit. I have some things to wrap up this week. So see you then.

To all of you others... there was a mistake and I was at Manga NEXT this passed weekend. They surprize-called me on Friday and asked me if I wanted an unclaimed table... so I jumped on it.

I had a good time, as usual, at Manga NEXT. The crowd is small but always good quality of people. A few clients and friends made my weekend better. was at the table with me and he is one of the coolest guys to chill with. I tried to bring something back for my sons like I normally do when I go to cons but couldn't really leave the table because the traffic was slow and I needed to make a sale any chance I got. I did do a few really cool commissions that I asked the clients to scan and send to me so when I get them, you will see them. One of them is in the gallery now so check it out.

Time to go food shopping so my fam has some stuff to eat before I leave to Virginia this weekend for Nekocon.

OMGoodness... sorry for the neglect... Life wants to pull me in a bunch of different directions.

KATSUCON:
Great weekend at Katsucon. Stood at my buddy's house in Rockville, MD and commuted 1/2 hour each day. Saw some awesome deviant freinds and made new ones but mostly stood at my table because I got loaded with requests.
I got a bunch of commissions from that con and wrapped most of them up. The ones I haven't finished, I am waiting on the requesters to contact me back so if you are one of those people and read this... get a hold of me so I can get your work done. If you wait too long I will have to move on. Sorry to be so blunt but I rarely sleep anymore.

Megacon:
Another sweet weekend down in sunny Orlando, Florida. Met some people from DA and other artists formally and in person such as:

Also met up with my buddy John Patterson of Media Blasters and got some sweet DVD's which I have yet to watch because of how busy I am. Don't worry... I will force myself to take a break soon, at least before I go more insane than I already am.

I got to meet some awesome poeple from AngelComics. The have some very stimulating work. , who is one of their writers, showed a happy interest in my work and we might have plans to work together on a comic in the near future, which I am very much looking forward to.

The flight home was great to because I got to talk with some writers and artists from Marvel and DC comics on the plane and continued chatting all the way to the parking lot of the airport.
I will be meeting up with them at Wizard World Philadelphia at the end of May.
So that means I have to get some sequential work done to show off to Marvel and DC by that time.

i am almost at 10,000 page views and I already have the artwork for the "thankyou" and I know most of you have been waiting for me to post the Ghostbusters piece, a pic of my kids, and some new artwork... well I got all of that ready for ya'll and guess what...
MY SCANNER DIED!!!
So I have to go out and buy a new scanner... this is probably a good thing though because my scanner was only 10x9 inches and I hated scanning in anything bigger than that because I had to then piece it together in Photoshop. So I get to go buy a new bigger scanner. I think I will be needing a bigger page size printer as well... we will see how well I do at Anime Boston and go from there.

A few things to say...
First, the last payment went through for the Special Offer (which is over but I am still taking regular commissions) and second...
Katsucon is next weekend. I have a feeling this will be a good con because I read up on last years and saw it was over 10,000 people. Now this is no where near as big as NYCC or SDCC or WizardWorld... but as far as East Coast anime cons go, that is a sweet number of people. It is just enough people to be a big con but still small enough to get to interact with fans, clients, friends and customers. I can't stand the huge a$$ cons where it is basically just croud control and you don't get to chat with the con-goers.

I have been soooooo busy. I am totally blowing off DA but not on purpose. Life wants to take over... Please forgive me!!!

I drew up the Ghostbusters pic for you guys and I will be scanning it in shortly. It's an action shot of the GB's and Slimer in action. It will be up within the week.

I hope all of you are doing well. I have an announcement to make. Few of you know that I have two little boys (6 and 3) and also that I am like a rabbit... (if you don't get that joke, wait a few more years) but I have found out recently that I have a baby GIRL on the way.

Thank the heavens... I wanted a girl for the next one and I got it. I feel so blessed. My only problem is thinking 9-12 years into the future... I'm gonna be one stressin' Pops.

Has it really been a month since I last posted a journal? Wow, time flies when you are busy. Please forgive me for the lack of deviation posts. I have a ton of work that is still proprietary and cannot show until it is done.

That is what I have been up too. Not to mention that my oldest son (Chris who is 5) is now in the first grade. So far so good. Now that summer is over I only have 1 child to watch so I can probably get more accomplished with my work. It is very demmanding and they need a lot of attention. Being a stay at home dad is very hard... but I love my boys and wouldn't trade it for anything. Not to mention I have another baby on the way. @_@

I pray for strength from above. LOL

In other news, I have completed the 3,000 pageview Kiriban for all of you of "Jin Saotome" and he is posted in the gallery if you want to take a peek. It's a shame that I made it when I am almost at 5,000 pageviews... le sigh!

Anyway, I will be putting up a list of the 5,000 pageview milestone voting chart in a day or two.

Also, I am almost done with a couple of big jobs that demmanded my time and forced me to cut off the commissions for a little while. I am pleased to say that these jobs are near in completion and the Commissions will be open shortly. A lot of you have been noting me about that so make sure you note me or email me quickly when they do so you can get a spot.

Stopped at my buds house, Ken aka to get on the road to Maryland. He was still making his prints. Bugger! I helped, did some things to prep for the road and after 12am, we were set to drive.

We got to my brother's ex's house after 3am and I crashed on the couch while Ken took the guest room. I had a nightmare and woke up saying, "No no no!" No sweat... it was time for breakfast anyhow. I made an omlete du framage (Dexter fans know this... also speaking french doesn't hurt). The sausage was expired so I had to throw that away in mid sizzle. Heheh. Her parents were so nice, especially in the morning. Thanks Kendal for letting us crash at your house for a night. She offered to put us up again but it was a bit of a ways to commute from her house to the con everyday.

Otakon was pretty. I didn't do so well the first day, but then again, that is when everyone comes and gets situtated. The beginning of Saturday was the same. Only after a brave soul came and asked me for a commission did a lot of others see my capabilities and requested commissions from me as well.

I had the pleasure of doing a commission for a repeat customer, Matt, who impressed Omar Dogan enough for him to draw his custom character. Thanks again Matt.

I would say I had a good time at Otakon. The Artists Alley always closes late and there is no one to watch our stuff until it does close so I couldn't go chill at a bar or anything.

I waited in a line of cars for 3 hours when it was over just to pick up a few boxes of my art equipment... that stunk. I wanted to go eat with my Philly buds after and have a kind of fairwell meal but they thought I left already because of the waiting in traffic.

A big shout out to some special people who baught my prints, got commissions, and basically hung out at my table the whole con and also are DA deviants.

I lucked out so bad. I am good buddies with the Founders of Media Blasters... a company that distributes Asian DVDs, books, toys and more. I did a Kim Possible in Batgirl suit for John Patterson and got a great deal on the Voltron remastered DVD's. Until this moment... that is still probably the most memorable part of the con (aside from seeing my Philly squad I haven't seen in a while).

I got some stuff to talk about... hmmm. Let's see... what first???

OK..
I had a camp out in the living room with my two boys last night, wait... tonight?!? well, I didn't go to sleep yet sooo.. yeah... tonight. It was fun! Had popcorn and giant soft pretzels and watched Pirates OTC 2. They were conked out by the time Jack was supposed to be eaten by the tribal villagers.
*looks at the kids* "Humph, light weights!" XD

Ummm... Oh yea... Splash, Snaggle, and I are almost done completing an 11 page comic spread I got commissioned for. They are kind of upset because the client wants simple/cartoon like colors and they can't show their range of talent. But we all know what they are capable of. They are amazing colorists. What else?!? Oh, I was checking for all the conventions I will be attending and registering and squaring things away until I reached the T-MODE07 con in Arlington, VA. I was sort of confused on the registering part of it. Probably just goofy me but I decided to type an email asking what I needed to do before I gone done and did it. I explained that I was an artist looking for a table and gave them a link to my DA page. To my surprize, the con chairman himself wrote back to me and said he loved my work and asked me to make the cover for the T-MODE07 con booklet.
YAAYAYAAYAYA.
I was thrilled. I said yes, asked for free tickets and a table and if I could teach a workshop. We agreed and now I am working on the cover. Funny how just a simple letter can change the course of events.

On commission news, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I am happy to say that I am putting a dent on these commissions I have and will have time for new ones soon. Commissions will be re-opening shortly so... SAVE UP YOUR MONEY PEOPLE!!!
Prices are being evaluated but I am keeping in mind that we are all poor too so it won't be crazy expensive. Gotta watch out for my peeps. Na' mean son? XD

Whew, what a weekend it was. What a weekend indeedy!
I had a great time at the con. I met a ton of awesome new people and had ablast drawing for them. However, there were things about the weekend that didn't go so smoothly... Care for me to elaborate?
Ok then, sit back and listen up.

I got to my buddy's house around 11pm Thursday night so that we could leave and get there by morning to get our badges and a good table because the case is, first come... first serve. We wound up leaving his house at 12:30 am to head from North East PA to Richmond VA which is a 5.5 hours drive. It took us 6 hours to get there in the middle of the night... probably because he took his shortcut... (LOL)
So we get there and my Caravan is packed with the stuff for the con. We can't even recline our seats to sleep for a few it's so full of shi.....stuff! XD
So he decided to hit up a fav record store of his down there and I decided to hit up the dollar store for frames. (art work is much more appealling in frames and you can make a nice bit of profit for the extra effort. We get into Richmond after that. We park my van in the garage next to the convention center. We unload our good and these four enormous 4'x8' latices that he painted and brought (we drove down there with the back hatch opened the whole way there and back they were so big). So we unloaded and set up for shop.
As far as the con itself:
Friday was a bit slow so I had time to reunite with some other artists that I have had the pleasure of meeting at previous cons. Friday picked up toward the night time.
Saturday was better with tons more traffic by the table. I brought my computer too and when work got slow I played some MAME (Marvel vs Capcom 1 and Xmen vs Streetfight with some Streetfighter 2 turbo in there). This day I recieved most of my commissions. I have to say that I was a drawing prostitute this weekend. I was in the zone and got all of my non-digital commissions done at the con... a great feeling to see peoples faces when you hand them art they are more than satisfied with.
Sunday was a bit slow but that was a good thing because I had to prep for the workshop I was teaching. That went very well. I had about 30 people in the class and only two walked out that I noticed. hehehe... their loss. The others informed me at the end of the lesson that they learned a great deal and that I helped them understand animating for 3D videogames much better.
We went home on his special shortcut, again, and took even longer to get home.

As far as the weekend itself:
Friday after the con was closed for the night, I went to my car to sleep (I don't mind sleeping in the car cuz it save almost $300 for the weekend ).
I had to go to the bathroom at 2 in the morning and the con was closed and there were no bathrooms in the garage. My friends asked me why I didn't just pee in the conrer of the parking garage...
1) Thats nasty if people run around and pee where ever they feel.
2) It was more than a pee... XD ....#2 was inevident.
So I got out and took a stroll over to the Marriott. Some people I knew were hanging out in front with some smokes and booz! After I relieved myself, I was talking with them.
One of the people in the crowd that I knew was my good buddy, Rich (who is head of security from Anime USA) and the other was none other than voice acter, Greg Ayers (yes.. from Chrono Crusade, Trinity Blood... the list goes on). So we were chillin' and reminissing about previous cons and what has been going on in between. I decided to cut the conversation after 3 am cuz I needed sleep for the next day to draw. I went back to the parking garage and guess what... it was locked down. I couldn't even get into my car to sleep the night.... So I head back to the hotel and ask some friends if I could crash... turns out they had the max amount for their rooms PLUS more. There was no room anywhere. So after walking the streets asking people I know if I could get a few winks in their room, I head to the front of the Convention center and sit at the doors at 5:30 in the morning. I fell asleep on the curb. XD
I woke up a half hour later and was sprawled all over the side walk. My muscles were killing me and I had a migrane like no other.
The garage finally opened and I wabbled to my car to try and get a few minutes of sleep. As soon as I close the door and lay down, my buddy wakes up and says, "Hey Pete, it's time to get up. They're gonna open the con in a few."
I, very graciously, let him in on the details before I boot him out of the vehicle! LOL
I was in the car for 4 hours and only slept a half hour because of the migrane. I want to thank you all for viewing, faving, watching, and commenting on my artwork. It was wasn't but a short time last year that I was terminally ill with two tumors that were depleating the calcium from my bones. Three months of hospitalization and surgery and all is well now. I am extremely happy to be alive making art for all of you to enjoy!!! Please keep commenting, visiting, and requesting commissions. My love goes out to all of you.

I know it pails in comparison to the pages that get over a million pageviews... but I still appreciate ALL of you who visit, watch, comment, and fav.

I have to say that I am blessed to have soo much work coming in. I will probably not be posting as much in the near future do to the amount of work on my plate. However, I will still be checking my page and others artwork and replying and commenting. Plus I have to prepare for convention season. (see way below for con info)

-The average ink commission for a full character shot is $25. ex:

-Any color is plus $15-40, again depending on complexity and style preference.
-Any added characters depend on the number of characters added and complexity (a small, easy, cute type animal is free with 1 character buy)
-All commissions will be Emailed only. The files will be a high resolution JPEG, PDF, or Targa according to your specifications (no physical prints, don't want to risk your art getting damaged or stolen).

I only give my clients what they want (ofcourse you must describe in detail what you want in order to ).
And the work speaks for itself. If you look in the gallery, there are a lot of my images that were commissions... and all were satisfied.
Also, my prices are VERY fair for the quality of the work.

I have just slowed down on the commissions. Which in turn means that I can juggle some of my freelance work. I have been working like a dog lately and I gotta say...
KEEP EM' COMIN' FELLAS!!!! It's so great to be able to draw and share my art with all of you.

Previous Commissions: I have posted amlost all of the commissions that I have done since the last convention I attended less than one month ago. Some other clients would like their commissions not to be posted because they wanted only originals so I had to respect that.

Quality and Satisfaction:I hope you all can see the quality and effort that I put into my work. I have not had one complaint yet *knocking on my desk*. All clients thus far have been more than satisfied with their commissioned pieces. My gallery speaks for itself. [link]

Commissions: Commissions are ALWAYS open (unless stated otherwise). Tasteful nudity allowed but no porn requests.

Prices & Payment: My prices are more than fair. I put the same amount of effort into a $10 piece that I would a $40 piece.
Prices only vary depending on what is requested in the commissioned piece. Feel free to note me for any questions about commission prices and the different levels.
As far as payment goes, I am comfortable with Paypal. I will need to recieve payment prior to the workings of the requested commission.

BTW, thanks Dev Art for the "Job Offers" section in the forum. I will be subscribing after my first payment comes in.

Also, if you see the list below me *snicker to myself... I said B-low me*,
you will see that convention season is coming. I would really hope to see you people at the cons if you can make it. I will have my PC with me because I am starting a new kind of commission style for myself. All digital and printed out. I can get the work done at the cons and hopefully have it colored and out to the client before the con ends.

My next con is in Durham, North Carolina. The convention name is:

I will just have an artist alley booth at this con. The next one after, Anime-MidAtlantic, I will be teaching a workshop on "3D Animation for Videogames"! After that I will be teaching this and other workshops at a handfull of other conventions.

I said there was a tie between Sakura and Cammy for the last Mile stone art piece. Sakura was chosen because she was first in the order and I said that Cammy would be at 250 to make everyone happy. Well, 250 came pretty damn fast. Heeeere's Cammy!

Thanks for all the comments, watchings, and adds. I will do my best to get back to all of you in a timely fasion. If I don't, please don't think I'm being an a$$... I have a lot to do because this is my convention season.
