At one point time a couple months ago, I was depressed. Very depressed actually. but anyway, during that whole time, I had a long of thoughts running through my head. Life, school, the future. But when I thought about art. I thought how I fit as an artist. Up till now, I've been practicing drawing, techniques, sketching(mostly) and thinking. Now of course back along time ago, I had never thought about these things. I mean, I considered myself to be an artist or a person with artistic talent. And I guess I do. But at that certain point in depression, I found how much of an artist I'm am truly not. Now you can define art in many ways. Break it down, from facts and history and whatnot, but the more I think about this, the more it seem right. A friend of mine once said, "Mike your nothing but a sketcher.." I never paid him any mind about it. But now I think back to it. He's right. I've done nothing but sketch. My whole life. I mean now, I've had pictures. Full colored stuff, ect. But there was very little Finished works. And I keep thinking like I can do more. But all I do is procrastinate and lie. Not only to myself but to others.
But it just doesn't end there.
I realized that a lot of artist draw with emotion, and meaning. I found that I lack that. I could have a lot of skill with anatomy and comics. But that can't even compare to a heart poured page of something you can honestly relate to. Or care. over the years I kept drawing and drawing and drawing. As time passed. I just drew and sketched and drew. Like a robot without heart, doing dirty work like a slave. I gave pictures away, threw around pictures. My friend says that you care, you just don't to admit it. But the truth was I had not a care in the world. Not a thought. Not a feeling for it. At all. Art became a daily routine. Like war. lol. I drew. Because I had to. Not because it fun. Not because I like drawing something. I drew to...have meaning in art. Because I can't stop. I don't know how to. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. But there had to be more. Much more. I found through all this what I had nearly forgotten 12 years ago. The love and joy of art. I've realize that one pic that doesn't even even have to be great can have much a joy, much sentiment value than a picture that was meant to be stylize and look awesome. Not that a greatly composed pic isn't a bad thing.

Anyway, I keep feeling that there needs to more to what I put down on paper instead of have a picture of someone standing. And I'm starting to understand a little more of it really feels to be an artist. All greatest success can't buy true happiness in ones eyes.

person myself, I don't hate it. I have a lot of friends I love and cherish. So whether or not I have a girlfriend(I dont have one) doesn't mean I'm alone.
