Been in Stockholm for a month now...
Subways as far as the eye can see, Homeless people on the sidewalk and The BackStreet Boys dropped by the other day. Neato.

Started Yoga - Check out my instructor
- He's the cutest!!

Soooo, I'm doin' alright here at 'Rithuset' - got my own desk, spend 50% of the time on MSN with ~nansin [She sits about 5 ft away from me] and so far I've drawn a coffemakermanual, a pineapple/banana yoghurt thingie and a CD cover. . .

But there's one this I just quite can't accept. They keep telling me I spend "too much time" on my assignments (Not that I'm late for deadline or anything) but that I "take the long way". So, I found out a few things about being a hardcore Illustrator.

You do a LOT of Photomanips. It's kinda scary, but the client doesn't care. He's not gonna care that you've spend over 50 hours on a stupid pineapple, just to make it look realistic. In the end - The final product is what matters.

That's like soooo not what art is (to me). But then again, being an illustrator is not exactly as being an artist.



So - Do I wanna become an Illustrator?
- Hard to say, give me a month or two...

Hi!

Just thought I'd give you an update since it's been a while since my last journal entry.

I'm moving to Stockholm at the end of the month. For those of you who are not aware that Stockholm is the captial of Sweden... tsk tsk. I'm going up there to start my internship at Rithuset, september 1st.

Rit = Draw & huset = (the) House [Reet-hew-set]

I'll be staying until December and hopefully the period will result in a great experience for me. I turst I shall be learning loads more of the Digital art.

So, how was my weekend?

-Very productive. I have very little experience on making games and can't believe how much I've learned.

What did I do?

- Well, I among 6 other[males] formed a company and we're going to [hopefully] create games in the future. We all have to finish our current educations before we 'get busy'.

Since my programming skills aren't that developed yet, I will be in the Art Department [duh], suplying the team with sketches of concept and such.

Personal reflections on my drawings:




<sub>'Draco Malfoy' - I know this is not so 'detailed' as my latest work, but I can't seem to find a reason to make it a scrap. I'm kinda proud about the sweater too...


'Legolas of Mirkwood' - This is the drawing that first brought me some attention [read:Watchers]. I drew this in about a day, because I had to send it to a school the next day. It's not my favourite, but it's the reason I got into Hyper Island.


'Achilles' - Yuck, I hate it. Bradley Pitt would have me murdered if he found out that I'd turned is hair into noodles. I'm tellin' ya - this one doesn't have much time left...


'Young Master Malfoy' - This IS my favourite drawing!


'The Sleeping Pan' - I kinda like this too, but I can't honestly say that I like the drawing more than the reason behind it...


'Jessica Alba' - It's ok I guess - my first try at realism! Allthough her face is slightly smaller than it should be...


'BabyBumbleBee' - The first drawing to drive me insane! But I like the result. Her eyes was done rather quickly aswell as her fingers, but her hair! Arrgh... Not to mention the Creepy Crawfish...


'Hayden Christensen' - Should really be called 'Drop-dead-gorgeous' But the focus is more on his jacket than his face, So... 'Some day Hayden, some day...'</sub>

I just love Autumn . . .
I could say it's because of all the beautiful colours that mother nature provides, but let's be honest...

Autumn is my second favourite time of the year because I get to spend so much time INSIDE (and not being forced to go outside and enjoy 'a beautiful' day... *grrr)

I just love the indoors - To me, a beautiful day consists of me+myDVD and sometimes me sitting by the window - truly thankful that I'm NOT outside!

Winter - Now that's my favourite time of the year! (I guess the title says it all, huh?)

Christmas time!
Snow!!! [The kid in me is now offended by my last statement about hating the outdoors - When it's snowing...you just gotta be outside!!]

Ok, so last night I was finally going to see Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban. I was so exited! I have been waiting for this movie since it came out in book-form!

Anyway, an half-hour in to the movie I started having some 'nice' female cramps. . . I'm talking pain beyond anything. First, I tried to ignore it, nothing was stopping me from this!

It got worse . . . And I started to feel faint. It was absolutely horrible. An hour left of the movie [I guess, I really didn't see anything after that first half-hour] I started to panic, nausea and all that.

So, I had to leave the theater! Drag my poor best friend out of it and in to the nearest restroom and... throw up. . . ew. . .

Not only did I miss most of PoA but I made my best friend miss the end!

I know that missing a movie is not the worst thing that could happen to you, but yesterday it was... [+those horrible cramps]


So, now I'm trying to see it. . . the illegal way. . . And you know, I could go and see it again!

I know you prob. shouldn't be ashamed of your work, but this was just bleh! I mean, this was stuff I did back in 2002, when I first started drawing for real.

It's kinda funny, It's the first time in 2 years since I've made some progress And it all happened thanks to all of you brilliant artists out there. Before I joined I had nothing to compare with. But seeing all of your wonderful work (you're so talanted ) Just made me want to improve so bad.

So, updated my - Was getting rather tired of Mr Elf...

True, they have already been sent out, but that still remains the huge amount of drawings I have to enclose... ::sigh::

My 'Legolas of Mirkwood' was actually sent out to a school yesterday. ::miss it::

I just can't seem to buckle down when it comes to the rest of them...

A school of Design reqired these following:

-A self-designed fork, knife, glas and plate.
-Arrange three toys and draw them.
-Two optional [paintings, drawings etc].
-Two drawings.
-A self-designed fluid(?) material optional....

That + I have to draw my friend in the nude... he he..

Anyway, back to the topic.... I can't seem to tare myself away from my computer! All the awesome and kick-ass comments to my 'Legster' drawing just make me bounce with joy!
