For most people who are possibly still watching me, I wish to update my journal. Its been a while since I've done anything, I've been working alot and full time seems to zap your energy from you like that so its hard to get motivated.

So whats new not many of you ask?
Just before Christmas ~ElSkanko and I got a new daughter in the shape of a small verocious kitten called belle who likes to climb our trees and get on to the roof making us wait 20minutes before she gets down...

I'm still working at the War Memorial and thats going along swimmingly so its all good!

I've just discovered the itunes store so that makes for hours of entertainment listening to samples of songs and then getting a bit carried away with it.

We've build a massive deck out the back of our joint with the help of our parents so now we have doubled our living space!!! horray!

and thats about it really, every thing is still great and fantastic and right now I can smell the spaghetti that Daniel is making for dinner so I'm getting a mighty bit hungry!!!

I promise to kick myself to start uploading if not I;m sure =droolz will find me and hunt me down and kick me till I'm dead if I dont.

Not much is new, apart from my job and I had a birthday and also uh... that might be it.

So its all good.
I like the rain we are getting.
I like my job.
I like my boyfriend.
I like my hair. (but that might not last for very long)

Panoramic cameras are cool and my new macro lens I've finally invested in. I dream of upgrading to the D3 but probably will only get the D300!

I've been quite slack at the moment and for some reason I have really gotten into facebook which is sad but true. However I will still update on here to get feedback on photos, something that the people on facebook have no interest in.

Its all going pretty cruisey right now, I'm trying to be healthy and get fit which should slowly work, but yeah, life is pretty sweet, man is pretty sweet so its all good.

No more working weekends! HURRAH!!
No mooooooore public holidays!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
No more working late night Fridays! HRRRRRRRRRAH!
No more CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAP customers. FANTASTIC!
So I'll be working as a darkroom operator at the Australian War Memorial which is so cool because its more in my field of expertise and its more money for virtually less work. Not that the money has anything to do with it(Maybe a bit), and don't get me wrong, I'm not hugely lazy (Ok so I am lazy) but its time for me to move out of retail and into the real world.

However Ted's did offer me store manager with a very nice pay packet which did take some debating over much to my boyfriends dismay. I took the war memorial.

Sooooooooo... Last date is the 6th of September.

Counting down those days.

Sad thing is I'm going to really miss all those wonderful people I work with because they are super nice and my boss is a fantastic guy so its sad but good at the same time.

So if you live in Canberra and need a full time job!! (even though I probably didnt give it a great review) Apply at the Canberra Centre store.

Just went to the snow, twas very nice and relaxing having a few days off work and chilling out. Had some great lebonese food in Cooma. Lots of fun for *ElSkanko on the drive back! Muwhahahahahaaaaa. (Actually it was me that was suffering from his deadly gas emissions)

Got a new lens for my camera so now it focuses in the right place (yay)

Re-arranged the house, bought some fish and got an air-conditioner/heater which is absolutely fantastic in Canberra.

I'm going to invest in a panoramic camera, so hopefully I will be able to build up my collection of work so maybe some day it just might be worthy of selling to the public one day. Sigh..

So I'm back in Canberra, trying relentlessly to find a job. Not much seems to be floating around but hey, if its going to bring in some money to fund the bigger picture then what the hell right? Wrong, I'm being picky and it has to be in the photographic industry or something else that takes my interest otherwise I'll just go mental. My friend has recently told me that she had applied for over thirty jobs in the last six weeks and she has only had call backs for two of them, even so..... I'll keep my hopes up, but I'm trying to not lower my standard.

So I'm writing a journal with some actual information in it after "someone" had pointed out I just put up random journals with no relevance in them at all. So here it is, a journal with relevance, yaay.

So my problem is, I've finished Uni, had my "gap" year which was really only six months, I've settled back down in Canberra which is oh so thrilling as normal, desperately trying to find a job that will see me through the next few months so I can accumulate money quickly so I can move out with my boyfriend when he comes back over. dun dun duuuuuuuuun.

Ha, nah I'm looking forward to it actually, very very happy at the moment, and I'm not going to say much else as I know my mother (Hi mum!) will eventually read this and start asking me more questions

But in the mean time, I will be submitting to a stock library as soon as I get my portfolio organised! Hurray!

Gotta love those transitional stages of life!

In other news I've finally gotten over having the worse tonsillitis that I can remember having ever, which threw me around a bit, I dont recommend having it, really really painful.

Oh yes in the other other news, I will hopefully be upgrading all my equipment soon so that means I will start to get my itch for photography back, its coming, I can feel it it just needs something to kick start it. So hopefully I'll get:
Canon 5D - yes I have to convert, Nikon just isnt holding up to Canon any longer
A Macro lens - If I had my choice it would be the MP-E, drool, but its rather expensive so I might just have to settle on a 105mm but hey, still very good.
A wide angle - I'm leaning towards a 10-20mm Sigma which I'll go mental with!!!!
And just a regular zoom hoping to be a 28-200mm give or take.

So after that upgrade, which is pending on a job, I will flood my gallery with new and exciting pics. I'm also looking to explore some more artistic ways of photography so look out world!! Maybe even put on an exhibition, but that is talking way off into the future.

So after an obscenely long journal, thats whats going on in my life, oh such wonderful and exciting things!!

Only 41 more days untill I come home from this life off photographic moments. capturing another old whinging passenger few moments in time then later on having them complain to me about their spa treatments not working out for them.
really, I'm not this cynical usually, but its the job, I'm over it even though the ports are fantastic and the people I work with are amazing

Conclusion:

Oh do by all means work on a ship being a photographer, however, only do it for a few months and try not to get the constant stream of complaints and whingy passengers get you down.

On second thoughts....

Ha, none really, but people please do go visit Norway, its a beautiful place.... also try Antigua in the Caribbean, thats quite nice as well.

Ok ok, so I'll update properly now.

This is the very compressed version so

Ship life is very very very different to anything I have experienced before. Its very very cool, especially all the ports we visit, as you can see by the recent influx of photographs I have been putting up.

I dont really have time to reply to comments and messages so I'm thanking you all now and more thanks for the next... (ha, I'm so cocky!)

Photography wise, the work is fairly easy but its just production line photography so its bam bam bam ok your're done next please. Taking over 600 photographs in one day is very time consumming and by golly I'm so glad when I get into bed at night.

No rough seas yet (touch wood) but apparently there is a place in the Med calld the Bay of Biscal which is suppose to be a lot of fun when we pass through it so I'm looking forward to that!

Its all confirmed, my first cruise leaves South Hampton on the 11th of June for 6 months I will be cruising not just the Mediterranean but also the Baltic and the Caribbean. The only thing I want to do is go though the Panama Canal, I think that would be just awesome.

So my dear chumps, I wont be on the Deviantart site nearly as often as I have been, its probably going to be once a week. But I will use it for updates, if I photograph anything interesting, like me being seasick

I think it has to be my favourite type of weather, today I was cuddled up in my bed and I listened to rain for two hours the sound of it falling, the sound of it gurgling down the drain pipes, the sound of it slowly getting softer and softer until all of a sudden it picks up again.

Its about time it bloody rained

The only thing that beats the rain, is the sound of snow falling everything is muted and all you can here are these little wisps of snowflakes that fall down to the ground we dont have snow very often (hardly ever, actually) and when it does, I rush outside and stand in the snow to hear it.

Not much to tell really on the news front, Im still looking for a full time job, still being rejected from full time jobs, still pottering about the house and going to the gym four times a week.

Recently I have started to swim again, I can do 1000m in about 23minutes, which isnt bad considering I havent really swum in a while I now have a faint chlorine smell, even after I shower, I can smell the chlorine on me which isnt actually that bad, because Im a freak and I like the smell of chlorine one of these days my hair will turn green

Speaking of hair, its going to be changed again

I think I will go with something that stands out a bit more, perhaps red ooooh I would love to go red, absolutely love it. So sometime next week I will probably upload an image of my new hair cut/colour maybe, depends if your all good or not

So yeah, go and be merry.. its the only way you should go

Well yes, if I thought nothing else could get any worse

I have just gotten back from being in emergency... I've been there since 4am, what fun... I wouldnt recommend it...

But dont worry, apparently Im all right, but I do now have a very cool x-ray of my chest!

The last 3 nights I havent been able to sleep booo Im blaming it on the high temps and my need to think scenarios in me head over and over again

Someone was murdered just around the corner from moi Oooh that was fun

And its suppose to be bloody 37 degrees today

on the up side, John Butler was so fricken fantastic last night Sigh

Oh yes, I forgot... My brand spanking new fish tank had all ready been invaded by my sweet and caring cat.... so its back to the pet store for me... *grumble, grumble, grumble*

Well....

I got my Degree....

Things are sweet as...

Still sore and still fricken sleeping on my back

My body seems to like having a life of its own and forces itself on to its side where i cant sleep...

I cant wait till I can toss and turn without restrictions and plus, I think all these nights on my back are giving me extremely odd dreams...

On the plus side, I have manage to buy 4 identical water pistols for me and my cousins for christmas so I can whip them

and make them bow down to me.... Muwhahahahahahahaha!!!!

Hey everyone, i have finally subscribed to Deviantart... for a whole year, god knows what i will be doing in a year but hey, it's $30, meh!!!

So its hectic, I have 6 weeks before everything in my final year of the degree course is due!!! Hurrah!!

My final work will be 5x 8ft posters printed on silk, hung in the High Court of Australia and the whole shebang is gonna cost me around $2000 for all the printing and books and other much...

So i have another week and a half to finish shooting my work - along the same lines as

nice bright colours, with a slight fallic theme running through it!!!

So hopefully by the end of my holidays I will have all five up too show you all and then I can get some feedback about the prints and if they all work together, etc...

I'm pretty excited, its almost over, 3 years of some hard work and some nasty teachers, my folio should be the bomb and I will be a degree holder... yippee!!!

Then I can relax

and the I can get started on my new career as a photographer, travel, freelance, woooo!!!

I can also get started on my IR series which I hope to produce/sell at an exhibition which would be so cool...

And it would also be cool to do more night shots of Canberra to produce a calender or some postcards to sell...

So as you can all see, I have alot coming up, I dont think it will restrict my usage on the site because I procrastinate alot on the internet in between converting RAW files and finding jobs!!!

Check you all later, I'll be updating often to get feedback on my new prints, thanks for all of your support and kind words, they have been really encouraging and get me through the day know I can make people happy with my work... love you all!

my work uhhh... usually commerically based because i'm in my last year of a degree course on photography... its more commercial based but recently i have branched out into more conceptual ideas.

i'm absolutly wild about macro photography and i usually get right into form and texture, also colour... that comes across in my favs.

the work i have up isnt what i produce for the course, the only work that is are my swans and my twilight series.

ahhh... what else do u say in these... oh i know, i have to say thanks to [link] because he put me in his journal entry which i thought was ultra nice of him because it seems to be quite hard to get ur work noticed on this site because of the vast amounts of work uploaded everyday.. soo hurrah for [link]
