I've been really busy cleaning the upstairs of my house

It's been long over due & I really need to get it done.

My latest cross stitch piece is taking so much longer than I thought it would. I've had to go back on some medicine that mucks with my vision, and trying to do any stitching when my eyes are really blurry is nearly impossible. So it'll be a while before I get it done.

This weeks deviants are *drum roll please*

She's a fractal artist that I just adore. I love the colours she chooses to use & she's a master at creating feathers

The fact that she's a wonderful person & friend is a bonus!

His traditional artwork is dark, emotional & moody. He's new to DA & I anxiously await his next submissions

Someone I love very much died a few hours ago

She was sick for a long time. She's not suffering any longer & for that I am truly grateful.

She led a sad life. She never got a break & suffered a great deal at the hands of others. I wish she had been happier. She was such a wonderful person & one of my favourite family members. I'm gonna miss her desperately.

I don't know why I'm writing this here, I guess I just need to vent.
I think I'll make something in her honour.

It's been an interesting few days. Just before the weekend set in, I sat in my comp chair & it broke. Resulting in my falling backward & hitting my head pretty hard on the ledge behind me (there's a 1/2 wall right behind my chair)
My back hit the wall part & OUCH

I've pretty much had a nasty headache since & you don't wanna even know how sore I am. Just what I needed, another clunk to my head

And before anyone asks, no, it did not knock a bit of sense into me!

My friends have been worried about me & have been coming over almost every night, which is great

We order all kinds of food & eat ourselves silly while bashing the male population

Everything else is just rolling along.

Now for the really interesting stuff.

Last week was a week from hell, and I since I hadn't made a new journal entry last Sunday like I had planned, I decided to keep the old up for another week & start fresh today.

My Dad was in the hospital & I lost a friend that I cared very much about

due to a dirty trick that was played on me & spilled over onto him. Sometimes everything just sucks.

Mine came on Friday, but my Stepdad never bothered to tell me that I had a parcel. So I didn't realize it had arrived til Saturday morning

I finished stitching the sky tonight

Now I'm alternating between the island & the dragon

I was so impatient to get started on the dragon, hehe

I did however, get a photo of a piece I made for my Grandma & I submitted it. My sister-in-law took the pic for me, so it's not as good or big as I'd like it to be, but it'll do.

I need to sleep

But it's just not coming too easily these days. Chris worries when I don't sleep right. Poor guy

Lastnight & today were really lousy

I made the decision to have my dog put down

She's vicious, and she bit me lastnight with no provocation. She also stole the cross stitch piece I'm currently working on & tried to rip it apart. I was able to get it away from her before she did any damage, thankfully.

She can't be rehabilitated, there's nothing physically wrong with her, I'm her only owner & I can assure you that she's never been teased. There's just no explaination for why she attacks us. She's bitten every member of my family that lives in this house. It used to happen once in a great while, but now it's a weekly occurance. Someone is going to get seriously injured if I don't do something soon. So this weekend, the members of my family that live here but are away for the summer are coming home to say goodbye to her & then I'll take her.

It's really gonna suck

I was in a horrible mood, crying all day today and Chris got the brunt of it. I owe him, big time

Sorry for the depressing entry. I haven't forgotten to take the progress pic of my latest project. I was gone for a couple days over the weekend & today I did nothing. I'll get it done tomorrow.

It was soooo hot & humid today

I went for a very short walk to my neighbor's house & it wasn't a good idea at all. The heat got the better of me, so I didn't stay very long. I came back home & camped out in front of the a.c. for a bit, then got a lot of housework done

Fun, Fun!

I also started a new cross stitch. It's called Dragon Isle. It's on black cloth, with a castle in the center, a red sky, green sea & a dragon that goes all around the perimeter of the picture. The dragon is an Asian style & is done in hues of greens & blues.
This piece is going quicker than the last one I did. the stitches aren't as tiny

Ok, enough babbling for now. I desperately need sleep

The stitches are so tiny, and when done on such a dark background is very hard on the eyes. But I'm really pleased at how it's turning out, and as soon as I finish it, I'll photograph it and submit it.

I can't wait to finish it! I have another one all lined up

It's an island castle surrounded by a chinese dragon. 14 count black aida cloth. But given that the stitches won't be as small, it should'nt be as hard on my eyes.

I have some dragon & wizard piece's that I've made already. I should dig them out & submit them.
